...

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Andy asked as she glanced at her husband, both their fingers interlaced in a tight hold. Andy had no idea where Robert was exactly taking her. All she knew was that it involved a double date with Ben and Miranda. She was completely unaware of what else the evening would contain, and she was finding she didn't like being kept in the dark.

"Babe, calm down. You'll know what we're doing soon enough." Robert said as he gently squeezed her hand.. Robert could tell his wife was getting antsy, but he really wanted to surprise her.

Andy let out a sigh of frustration but decided not to push her husband any farther, knowing she would know whatever he was up to soon enough. The rest of the ride was rather short, each taking the opportunity to catch the other on up on nonwork related topics. Andy chose to bring up a christmas dinner the two were invited to at Tia Sandra's, while Robert chose to talk about how a lunch he had with Richard Webber, his sponsor, a few days prior. It wasn't until Robert turned into a parking lot Andy was sort of familiar with that everything started to piece together.

"Robert, where exactly are we." Andy said as she looked to her husband, many memories flooding back as she did. Robert's only response was a smile.

"Maybe. I guess you'll just have to get out of the car and come with me to see if it is." Robert suggested as he pulled into a parking spot close to the building. Not that it was hard to do so considering most of the parking lot was empty, something Andy noted immediately and found rather strange.

As soon as Robert was completely parked, he got out of the car and went to his wife's side of the car. Like the true gentlemen he was, he opened her door for her. It was something he started doing when they first got together. At first she wasn't the biggest fan of him doing so, but as time went on she grew to love it.

"Okay, I'm going to need you to trust me," Robert began as they got closer to the door. "I need you to close your eyes and keep them covered."

"But-" Andt began to protest only to have Robert look at her with two puppy dog eyes. Something he always did when trying to convince her to do something she didn't want to.

"Fine, but this better be good." Andy relented as she closed her eyes and covered them with her free had. Her other hand held onto Robert as they continued to walk to the building.

"I swear if you make me fall Robert Sullivan-" Andy began but was cut off by the burst of cold air that hit her face as the two entered the building.

"I promise I won't." Robert chuckled as he guided her in a few more steps.

"Okay you can move your hand and open your eyes," Robert said with a smile on his face as he watched his wife do exactly so.

"Robert…" Andy said looking around her in awe. He had brought her to an ice skating rink. Well not just any skating rink. It was one she had told him about last christmas.

The two had been stuck at the station and home for the most part, so the two spent much time together. One night after work Robert had pulled her downstairs right after her shower to decorate their christmas tree. As they did so, Andy came across one ornament in particular that was of an ice skate. Robert could remember the smile that spread across her face as she told him the story of how she got the ice skate ornament one christmas at this exact rink. How she and her dad would come here every christmas season until she was well into her teens. It was something so small yet it bought her so much joy. So Robert kept that in mind.

"What about Ben and Miranda, I thought we were supposed to be going on a double date? And shouldn't there be more people here?" Andy asked looking around at the pretty much empty rink, the smile still plastered on her face.

"I just told you that so you wouldn't question me too much, but we do have a dinner planned with them this weekend. Ben is actually the one who helped me pull a few strings to do this." Robert smiled looking down at his wife. His eyes captivated by her smile. He could watch her smile like this for forever.

"Are we gonna skate or what?" Robert asked, gesturing to two pairs of skates sitting behind his wife.

"You're really gonna skate with me?" Andy asked, letting a small laugh escape her lips as she looked from the skates to the love of her life.

"Don't sound so surprised. Just because I have a history of being bad at rollerskating doesn't mean I'm terrible at ice skating." Robert defended throwing his hands up in the air. However as soon as Andy tilted her head he gave in.

"Fine I might be terrible, but as long as I get to see you smile like you are now, that's all that matters." Robert spoke softly, smiling himself.

Nearly a second later Robert felt his own wife's lips against his own. With that she went to put a pair of skates on, Robert not far behind. The first several minutes after Ribert had gotten on the ice, he was very unsteady. But with time Robert found his balance with a little help from Andy. The two spent what felt like hours skating around, making memories that they would carry on for the years to come.
