A/N: Thank you for the comments.
Ona - Thanks. This is definitely coming to an end now. Chapter 18 will be the last.
"Colonel?" Jennifer asked when she woke up and found herself lying across his torso.
"Doc?" He questioned.
"Not so loud." She complained not fully taking in where she was.
"Why are you lying on top of me?" John asked confused.
"What?" Jennifer asked before scrambling off John. Immediately regretting it when her head pounded. "Sorry." She mumbled turning bright red.
"It's fine." John said sitting. "What happened?" He asked looking round.
"No idea. I remember dancing and then we were talking to Rals and ...did we upset him? I remember being taken somewhere. I shouldn't have drunk anything."
"You and me both." John said. "Any idea how we ended up here?"
"No. I have nothing after we entered that room." Jennifer replied. "Do you think we did upset Rals and he locked us up? Or his daughter, she doesn't like me."
"If we are in prison it's one of the better ones." John said seeing a regular bedroom. To be on the safe side he went to the door and opened it, saw the corridor and then shut it again. "It's also minimum security."
"Are you mocking me?" Jennifer asked.
"No." John assured her as he opened the curtains, immediately regretting his actions as the bright sun light hit his eyes.
"I haven't been this hung over for years." John complained as he staggered back to the bed. As he sat down a thought suddenly occurred to him and he looked down, sighing in relief when he realised he was still dressed.
"I'm going to go die in the shower." Jennifer said heading to the bathroom.
"I'll just lie here." John replied.

"Feeling any better?" John asked after he had come out of the shower half an hour later to see Jennifer sitting on the bed with her eyes shut.
"As long as I don't move." Jennifer replied. "What was in that drink?"
"No idea. But we should get some, we'd make a fortune selling it on Earth." John said. "Ready to find the others?"
"If that means we get back to Atlantis and Acetaminophen." Jennifer said standing.
"Let's go." John said opening the bedroom door once more.
As the pair walked down the corridor Jennifer noticed that everyone seemed to be looking and whispering about them.
"Why is everyone looking at us?" Jennifer asked.
"I don't know." John said speeding up a bit, wondering where the rest of his team were. When he finally saw them he felt a little relieved and called.
"Teyla."
"John, Jennifer." Teyla said approaching them.
"Do you know what's going on?" John asked.
"In what way?"
"Everyone is staring at us." Jennifer said.
"What do you remember of last night?" Teyla asked.
"Nothing. Did I do something culturally inappropriate?" John asked.
"No." Teyla replied.
"Did I?" Jennifer asked frowning.
"No." Teyla said.
"So what's going on?"
"You took part in the Janoki ceremony last night." Teyla said.
"Isn't that why we are here?" John asked confused.
Before Teyla could answer Rals strode towards them beaming.
"Colonel, Doctor. Good morning. I can not express my gratitude that you chose our planet for last night."
"Our pleasure." John said. "But we should probably get going."
"Of course. You are welcome anytime." He said walking away.
"Ok, what's going on?" Jennifer asked confused.
"You took part in the Janoki ceremony." Teyla explained. "The Earth equivalent would be a wedding ceremony."
"That's nice." John said. "Whose wedding did we go to?"
"You misunderstand." Teyla said. "It was your ceremony. You are by, local law, married."

"Welcome back." Woolsey greeted. "How did it go?"
"Um okay. I guess." John said.
"Did you appease Chief Rals?"
"I guess we did." John said. "I mean he seemed happy and said that he could not express he gratitude for us taking part."
"Excellent." Woolsey said despite a nagging feeling. Finally he asked. "What are you hiding?"
"They got married." Rodney blurted out.
"I'm sorry. What?"
"While trying to make Chief Rals believe we were a couple we unwittingly took part in a ceremony that turned out to be our wedding." John said.
"Congratulations?" Woolsey asked after a long pause.

"You hate dating that much that you just got married?" Laura asked walking into Jennifer's quarters.
"Please don't shout, my head is pounding." Jennifer said miserably causing Laura to repeat, in a stage whisper.
"You hate dating that much that you just got married?"
"You heard?"
"The whole city has heard. There is going to be a huge party."
"What?" Jennifer asked sitting up, only to regret it and lie back down.
"The big question at the moment is who is moving into whose quarters?" Laura went on.
"No one is moving, we aren't married."
"Technically you are." Laura reminded her.
"Not by Earth law."
"Don't be so picky. How are you breaking the news to your dad?"
"There is no news to break."
"You got married." Laura reminded her.
"No we didn't."
"Yeah, you did."
"No we didn't."
"Technically you did." Laura countered.
"Well I'm pretty sure it means nothing here." Jennifer replied.
"Okay then, what did happen?"
"We were at the feast. We were drinking. Rals talked to us, we went off somewhere. Next thing I knew I was sprawled across the Colonel with a hangover."
"Sprawled across the Colonel?" Laura asked.
"Not like that. We were both dressed."
"Uh huh." Laura said.
"We were. Now please leave. I just want to curl up and die." Jennifer said.
"Okay, I'll go back to party planning." Laura smiled leaving.

"I am so sorry." John said as Jennifer let him into her quarters a few hours later.
"It's not your fault." Jennifer said. "Well kind of."
"I feel partially responsible." John said. "But regardless of blame I thought we should probably get this over with."
"What?" Jennifer asked.
"Being seen together after the big night. The sooner we get out there the sooner they will get bored."
"I so doubt that, but we have nothing to lose."
"So lunch?" John suggested.
"Sure." Jennifer said.
"How's the hangover?" John asked as they walked.
"I have never had one last so long. They should sell that stuff to teens to put them off drinking for life."
"You are encouraging underage drinking?" John asked glaring at every sniggering person they passed.
"I'm saying if they are going to break the law they may as well get a worth while punishment." Jennifer said as they entered the mess hall. "I can also think of a few people round here who deserve a really bad hangover."
"You are really grouchy when you are hungover." John smiled grabbing a sandwich. "Of course it could be a reaction to being married to me. That glare right there that you are giving me is definitely channelling my ex wife." He pointed out as they reached a table.
"How is the happy couple?" Lorne asked.
"What's that Major? You need more paperwork to do?" John asked.
"Sorry Sir." Lorne replied.
"You don't sound it." Jennifer jumped in.
"I really am." Lorne said. "I guess I am just a little distracted."
"By what? Has something happened?" John asked.
"Well yes. You two got married and I need to write it all up, not just for the IOA but also for your kids."
"Kids?" John asked.
"It's the next step." Lorne said.
"The next step is a month of solid paperwork." John said.
"Followed by being a human pin cushion." Jennifer added.
"Look at that you even threaten like a married couple." Lorne grinned. "But seeing those threats are real I am going to leave now." Lorne said standing.
"So what now?" Jennifer asked John.
"I have no idea." John confessed. "I am sure Woolsey will tell us later. We could even have an IOA rule named after us."
