Mandy and Randy had broken up seven years ago. Mandy had since married and divorced. She was now thirty. It was the summer of 2018. Mandy was just leaving a coffee shop. When she got outside she felt someone tap her on the shoulder. She turned around and saw Randy. They smiled and hugged.

"Hi." She said.

"Hi."

"It's been a long time."

"Yeah."

"Sorry, I haven't signed in a long time."

"It's ok." She saw his wedding ring. "How long have you been married?"

"Two and a half years."

"What's her name?"

"Kim."

"How's Alanna?"

"Great." "She's a big sister." "Kim and I have a daughter named Brooklyn." "I also have three stepsons."

"That's so great." "I'm so happy for you." "I'm glad you got the family you wanted."

"Anyone special in your life?"

"Not at present."

"Do you want to come to the show tonight, we're in town."

"Sure." "I haven't watched it in years."

"Kim is going to be there." "Would you like to meet her?"

"Sure."

Later that night Mandy went to the arena and knocked the door. Randy answered it.

"Hi." He said.

"Hi."

"I'm glad you could make it." "Come in." She went inside. "Kim I'd like you meet Mandy."

"It's nice to meet you Mandy." Kim said. "I've heard a lot about you."

"It's nice to meet you to."

Mandy went to catering to get a drink. She felt someone tap her on the shoulder and looked over. John was standing there.

"Hi John." She said.

"Hi Mandy." "How are you?"

"Good."

"You?"

"Good." "Are you still a teacher?"

"Yes."

"Do you have plans after the show?"

"No."

"Would you like to go get a drink?"

"Sure."

After the show Mandy and John went out to the bar. They were sitting at a table. Mandy was telling John about her marriage.

"I realize now what a major mistake it was." She said. "I met him a few months after I broke up with Randy." "I was hurting and vulnerable." "I didn't think so at the time but it was purely a rebound relationship." "We were engaged after six months."

"How long were you married?"

"Two very long years." "I'm sorry about you and Nikki Bella."

"Thanks."

"How are you doing?"

"I'm hanging in there."

"Good." "I know most people only use the term I know how you feel." "I know how you feel." "Randy and I broke up for that exact reason, only the roles were reversed."

"I know."

"If you ever need to talk, you can talk to me."

"Thanks."

"Seeing how happy Randy was tonight really gave me closure." "I know we made the right choice in breaking up."

John walked Mandy to her car.

"That was fun." She said.

"Yeah it was."

"I haven't gone out in a long time."

"I'm glad we ran into each other."

"Me to." They hugged.

"Text me when you get home so I know that you made it safe."

"I will." "Goodnight."

"Goodnight." She got in her car and left.

I know some of you are probably pissed about this. I was going to do the typical they eventually get back together and eventually even have a baby. The more I thought about it, the more I thought it wouldn't go with Mandy's character. Since she was so adamant about not wanting children.
