Enerjak Reborn Saga Episode 1: Preparations for War
In Acorn, Castle, Sonic, Eve, Sally, King Acorn, Queen Alicia, Elias, Nicole, Geoffrey, and Hershey are in the meeting with Dimitri to discuss the latest Enerjak problem they're going to face. Mention Enerjak and the trouble he has caused is deeply concerning.
"Now that the Freedom Fighters and the Royal Service Leaders and Royal family have gathered, you have the floor, Mr. Dimitri. Tell us everything you know about this 'Enerjak' person," King Acorn says.
"Of course, King Acorn," Elias says.
Eve says, "It will help if you can tell us what happened."
"Of course," Dimitri says.
Then explains, "I was Enerjak at one point myself. Understand that ages ago, I was a brilliant Chaos Scientist… in my arrogance, I tried to absorb the Chaos Emeralds… and I was transformed. I was no more a 'person,' I was a god. As Enerjak, I thought myself unstoppable. I would have conquered all of Mobius."
"I remember. And none of us expected your powers to be stolen and placed into Mogul's body by the Sword of Acorn that is now destroyed," Eve says.
"Yes. As a result, centuries of aging caught up with me. I was nearly undone, until the Dark Legion Rescued me with their cybernetic processes. I was not a perfect solution, however. With my life still ebbing away, I allowed Dr. Finitevus to disassemble me in hopes of finding a way to return me to my former power," Dimitri says.
"And you trusted him with your life?" Sally asks, and crosses her arms.
Dimitri turns to Sally, "Try to understand, princess. At that point, I was desperate. I thought he was genuinely loyal like the rest of the Dark Legion."
"But you must have found out that Finitevus had no intention of helping you or the Legion, but helping himself," Sonic says.
"I'm afraid so," Dimitri says.
"But if you're not going to be Enerjak, do you have any idea who is?" Elias asks.
"I do not know, Prince Elias. I came looking for aid the moment I realized Finitevus had betrayed me," Dimitri says.
"We gotta do something about it," Sally says.
"Yeah. We already had to deal with Enerjak twice. We don't want to deal with a third attack," Eve says.
"I'm also concerned about my people. We can't rush to arms without a solid plan," King Acorn says.
"Well the Freedom Fighters and the Chaoix have done this fiasco twice and we can do something to prevent the third attack," Sonic says.
"We need to go to Angel Island and warn Knuckles. He and I suspected something off about Finitevus, but I never expected him to create another Enerjak," Eve says.
"But like King Acorn said, we can't go to the Island when we're at a disadvantage," Hershey says, worried.
"And we can't send too many of us out there without Eggman attacking us," Geoffrey says.
Dimitri suggests, "Then send the Chaotix. They claim Angel Island as their home."
"It's true that the Chaotix are free agents, but they risked their lives for my people. They're entitled to our protection as much as anybody else," King Acorn says.
Queen Alicia asks, "Isn't there anything we can do?"
"I'm afraid we don't know. All I have to say is that Julie-Su was right. We should never have let Knuckles go back to the island alone. He could be in danger," Eve says.
"I'm sure we'll think of something," Sonic says.
Eve says, "I'll go with the Chaotix and find Knuckles."
"But it's too dangerous. Let's not forget that the Legion might still try to convince you to join them. We can't risk any of you going back to the island without a plan," Elias says.
"Maybe so, but I can't stand letting Knuckles be exposed to this kind of danger," Eve says.
As the group discuss what is happening, Charmy is secretly spying on them from the air vent and hears everything.
Charmy talks through a small microphone, "Hey, Julie-S? It doesn't sound like we're going to be able to look for Knuckles."
"I thought as much," Julie-Su says.
Julie-Su is at the Diner and says, "Keep at it until Dimitir leaves. Then come back to us."
"Bad news?" Mighty asks.
"Only for them, Mighty," Julie-Su says.
Then explains, "Knuckles left for Angel Island not long ago and hasn't checked in yet. Now we're told Enerjak… Knuckles' worst enemy… is coming back. And they want us to stay where it's 'safe'…"
"Then we'll have to go find him ourselves," Vector says.
"Glad we're all on the same page. Alright, then let's go grab a flight," Julie-Su says.
The Chaotix then leaves the diner to go to Angel Island themselves.
Meanwhile, Eve and Sonic leave the room while Sally and Nicole walk to the Royal family on what they need to do.
"I still think we should go to Angel Island. We can't just stand here knowing that Enerjak could attack and Knuckles is endangered," Eve says.
"I know what you mean. I'm sure we'll figure this out. We just need to put our heads together," Sonic says.
"I guess so," Eve says.
Sonic then says, "I'm going to look for Julie-Su and the others, and I'll meet you at Freedom HQ."
"Fine," Eve says.
Sonic then speeds off to find Julie-Su and the Chaotix. Eve then leaves the castle to get some fresh air. She walks around town as she is deep in her thoughts. She wants to find Knuckles and stop Enerjak, but it might have to be drawn back because they need a plan. However, she can't stop thinking that Knuckles might be endangered, especially now that Finitevus is behind the whole Enerjak project.
Eve thinks, "I'm sorry, but I have to do this."
Eve then super speed as fast as she can and reach Freedom HQ. Eve then walks inside and then walks to a room. She then reaches a small door with punch pads. She then punches the code on it and the door opens. Eve then takes out four Warp Rings and places them in her bag."
Eve sadly says, "I'm sorry, but I need to do this."
Suddenly, two figures step in and one voice says, "Not planning on leaving without us are you?"
"No way you'll leave us out of the fun," Another voice says.
Eve turns around, "Fiona? Nic?"
"Who else kid? You do know you're taking a risky move?" Nic asks.
"Yeah. But I can tell that you're worried about Knuckles, despite that you'll be breaking some rules," Fiona says.
Eve says on the verge of tears, "I had to! Please understand girls, I had to do something! Really! I just can't stand by knowing that Knuckles could be endangered!"
"We know. Which is why we're coming with you," Nic says.
Eve becomes surprised to hear this.
"We won't tell anyone. They'll find out when we get back," Fioans says.
Eve tosses the ring on the ground and it opens, "Thanks guys."
The girls then walk through the Warp Ring and it closes behind them. Meanwhile, Sonic is searching for Julie-Su and the others. He looks around to see that they are not easy to be found.
Sonic looks around and asks, "Where are they? They should be around here somewhere."
Suddenly, Nicole appears, "Sonic! There's trouble at the airfield!"
"What is it?" Sonic asks.
"It's Julie-Su and the Chaotix," Nicole says, concerned.
"What about them?" Sonic asks.
At the airfield, Vector and Mighty are pounding away the royal guards that come their way.
Julie-Su angrily shouts, "We said move!"
On Angel Island at the original Altar of the Master Emerald, the Warp Ring opens allowing Eve and the others to walk out. Soon, the Warp Ring closes allowing Eve to take it and puts it in her bag. She is glad that she isn't having Jazz, Maria, or even her dad dragged into this. She is just hoping she isn't going to regret this decision.
Eve looks around and calls out, "Knuckles! Where are you?! Knuckles?!"
Eve soon grows concerned.
Fioan places her hand on her shoulder, "Don't worry Eve, we'll find Knuckles."
"Right," Eve says.
"Then let's start looking," Nic says.
With that, the girls begin to search for Knuckles in different directions.
Eve looks around as she mutters, "If Sally ever finds out what me and the girls are doing, she'd kill me."
Eve and the girls search in different parts of the island. Fiona searches around the forest area. She looks through bushes, under rocks, and other places. Nic then reaches the Echindaopolis city that is being reconstructed. She asked the Echidnas around to see if they've seen Knuckles. She even asks her family. So far, she has come to a dead end. What's more, Nic discovered that Locke isn't on the island either and the Guardians haven't been found either. Eve however is looking for Knuckles at the clear area.
Eve sighs, "Where are you Knuckles? You just have to be on the island somewhere or at least where the Master Emerald is. If I can find it."
Eve walks out of the forest to see a large clearing. Eve gasps to see a large group of Dark Legionnaires. She then hops on the tree to see them working at something.
"What are they up to this time? Whatever it is, I wonder if they have any knowledge that Enerjak is going to be reborn. Still, if only we have an idea who Finitevus is planning on using. It would have been very helpful," Eve says, worried.
Suddenly, she notices something ahead. She sees two Legionnaires are carrying someone to a large hole close by. Eve looks closely and realizes who the person is, and it's the same friend she is looking for.
"Knuckles…" Eve says, concern.
Back at the airfield, Sonic arrives to see Julie-Su and the others are attacking the guards and are trying to grab a plane. Sonic knows that he needs to stop this. He can understand why they're doing this. With the problem with Enerjak, Knuckles is endangered.
Sonic lands on Vector's nose, "Guys… what's going on here?! We don't need this right now!"
Then jumps off before anyone can strike, "I want to get into action as much as you do, and Eve thinks we should go after him, but I can see we need a solid plan first."
Sonic then speeds past Mighty and Ray, causing them to spin around until they feel dizzy.
Sonic continues and says, "And us fighting like this is going to give Enerjak an edge that we can't afford to give up. So let's cut out the fighting, Please?"
Stuff it, Sonic!" Julie-Su shouts, swinging her foot to kick him.
Sonic stops and dodges before it happens.
"Kay? Thanks?" Sonic comments.
Julie-Su and Might try to attack Sonic.
Julie-Sy angrily says, "Knuckles is out there and needs our help!"
"Yeah… but…" Sonic says.
"And now the Royal Family wants to keep us trapped here while…" Julie-Su angrily says as she tries to karate chop Sonic.
Sonic dodges, causing her to hit Mighty by mistake.
Sonic lands on the ground, "It's not like that at all! They just want us to come up with a better plan! You remember the last time that Enerjak caught you guys off guard, and Eve! He nearly destroyed Knuckles, not to mention Echindaopolis, and almost forced Eve and her family to join him! Eve wants to stop this as much as you do, so do!"
Everyone then comes to a stop and looks at Sonic.
Sonic sighs, "Look, I don't think it's a good idea either, especially Eve. She had to encounter Enerjak twice, and it's actually her grand-dad! And yet, that never stopped her from fighting back and helping us. I'm not going to fight you guys over it anymore."
"Well said, Sonic. All the same, we need the Chaotix here," Sally says.
"Is this the part where you Freedom Fighters try to stop us? Julie-Su sternly says.
"No, this is the part where I try to compromise between our plans," Sally says.
Then explains, "It only makes sense… Enerjak will attack the most important places on Mobius, and New Mobotropolis is one of them. We need everyone we can get here."
"That doesn't help find Knuckles! For all we know, Enerjak has him already!" Julie-Su angrily says.
"Nicole just sent a probe to Angel Island. We'll know what's going on very soon," Sally says.
"A nanite-powered camera isn't going to help!" Julie-Su says, upset.
"Which is why I'll be sending my best and brightest on a Search-and-Rescue Mission," Sally says.
"I like this plan," Sonic says.
"But what about? Julie-Su asks.
"I talked to my parents and we got clearance to let us follow with this plan," Sally says.
Julie-Su ruffles her hair with a sigh, "I'm sorry, Sally. It's just… I'm worried since the last time Enerjak showed up. He could have destroyed Knuckles the last time…"
"I understand better than you think. Now let's meet with the others," Sally says.
"Well, now that everything is settled. We just need to find Eve and we can get going," Sonic says.
Suddenly, Nicole appears, "I'm afraid that won't be possible at this point."
"What do you mean, Nicole?" Sally asks.
"The probe that I sent to Angel Island caught something," Nicole says.
Nicole then makes a screen appear and it shows what the probe is recording. What they see is Fiona and Nic are on Angel Island. They are talking to each other and nod their heads. Then they head off, almost like they're looking for something or someone.
"Nic and Fiona? What are they doing there?" Tails asks.
"I don't know, but those two have some explaining," Sally says.
"It's like they're searching for something," Vector replies.
"Not long that, but Freedom HQ security also caught something as well," Nicole says.
She changes the screen to show Eve punching the code to open the safe. Then she takes out a few Warp Rings, and that's when Nic and Fiona show up.
"Well, at least we know where Eve went to, but what is she doing with the Warp Rings we have?" Sonic asks.
"And why would Nic and Fiona be doing on the island," Espio asks.
"I don't know. The only thing I can think of is…" Sally says.
She gasps in shock and looks up as she exclaims, "Oh no…She didn't!"
"She didn't what?" Sonic asks.
Mighty soon realizes, "Wait! You don't think Eve decided to go find Knuckles herself!"
"And Fiona and Nic must have found out what she's doing and decided to go with her," Espio adds.
The group gasps in shock.
Eve continues to watch the Dark Legionnaires carry Knuckles. Then they toss him down the hall. Then the two Legionnaires have their back away from the hole, not knowing that Eve is even there. Eve then takes the opportunity to super speed past the guards and flies down the hole. She then uses her Chaos Energy to make herself float and slowly go down the hole. Unknown to her, Fiona and Nic see where Eve has gone and decide to follow her.
In the chamber that is where the Master Emerald is, the Dark Legion and Dr. Finitevus are there. Soon, Knuckles flops out of the hole and lands on the ground. Appearing in a small smoke from a higher area, Archimedes sees Knuckles being dropped into the area. The young Guardian coughs as he fully regains his consciousness.
"We've been waiting for you, Guardian. This momentous day would be incomplete without your presence," Finitevus says.
Knuckles stands up and not in the mood as of now.
He angrily says, "Stuff it, Finitevus! I…"
But stops to notice a Legionnaire that has a bionic eye and clawed hand and wears a Legionnaire outfit. Who he suspects the Legionnaire to be is… shocking to Knuckles.
Knuckles says, shocked, "Remington?!"
Meanwhile, Eve floats down the tunnel a little more to hear Knuckle's voice. Eve takes a peak out to see him with Lien-Da, and Finitevus. However, Eve is shocked to see the other Legionnaire.
"Re-Remington? Wha-what happened to him?! What did they do to him? What are they planning to do with Knuckles," Eve thought.
She suddenly hears Remington asks, "Have we met?"
Knuckles angrily asks, "What did you do to him?!"
"I saved him from Dr. Eggman's Egg Grapes, and I did all I could to restore his body and mind. We need all the help we can get, Knuckles," Finitevus says.
"We?" Knuckles asks.
"No thanks to you or the Brotherhood of Guardians, ninety percent have been destroyed by Dr. Eggman… including Albion, which is now a wasteland," Finitevus says, sounding bitter.
"What? Ninety percent… that's" Knuckles asks, shocked.
"Thousands," Finitevus says.
"Which is why you made me call a truce with the Frost Legion. So you could give us the power to crush Eggman," Lien-Da says.
Eve grits her teeth and says, "Why is he telling that to him? And why isn't Locke here. I'm getting a feeling there's more to Finitevus' statement than what he says. Then again, Dimitri told us that Finitevus lied to him about having his life and body restored."
Then realizes, "Could all this be part of Finitevus's plan to have them join forces and have Knuckles brought here? And what does this have anything to do with Enerjak?"
Suddenly, Eve hears Knuckles screams in rage. Eve takes a peek to see Knuckles climbing onto the altar.
Then Finitevus says, "I've been watching all of Dimitri's descendants, and I've found the one best suited to use the Master Emerald. With my guidance…"
Knuckles stands on the altar, "No! I'll set this right! It's my duty! My responsibility!"
"I'll command the powers of the Master Emerald. I-" Knuckles says, as he places his hands on the emerald and tries to channel its power.
However, A black Chaos Energy and light green energy surrounding Knuckles' body caused him to scream in agony. Eve and Archimedes gasp in shock to see the strange energy trapping Knuckles.
Remington angrily says, "No! He'll take all the power himself!"
Before Remington and Lien-Da can stop him, Finitevus holds his hands out and stops him.
With an evil grin, Finitevus says, "Precisely!"
"What?! You traitor!" Lien-Da exclaims in shock and rage.
In his thoughts, Archimedes says shocked, "Oh no… not this…"
Knuckles continues to scream in pain as the strange dark Chaos Energy is taking control of him. Eve is stunned to see Knuckles in so much pain, without thinking she decides to save her friend.
Eve rushes out of the hole as she screams, "Knuckles!"
Eve runs past the legionnaires and heads to the top of the altar, catching their attention.
"Eve?!" Lien-DA exclaims shock.
Finitevus thinks, "What's that hedgehog doing here?!"
Eve reaches the top of the altar and grabs Knuckles by his waist. Suddenly, the dark energy surrounds Eve as she lets out a scream of pain. Despite her feeling the pain of the Chaos Energy, Eve has her arms wrap around his waist and tries to pull him away.
"Oh no… what is she doing?! It's too dangerous!" Archimedes thinks, shocked.
Eve continues to struggle from feeling the pain of the Dark Chaos Energy and holding onto Knuckles. However, saving Knuckles is the only thing on her mind right now. The power of the Dark Chaos Energy is proven to be too strong for her, that it sends a strong pulse that sends Eve back as she screams in agony. That's when Nic and Fiona arrive to see the shocking event.
"Oh no!" Nic exclaims.
Fiona screams, "Eve, no!"
Eve ends up being slammed to the wall of the cavern and falls to the ground. Eve struggles to get up as the strange dark energy is still surrounding her. Fiona and Nic run to her in a frightened state.
"Eve!" Fiona panics.
Nic asks, "Are you okay?"
"I… I don't know… Knuckles is in trouble… Finitevus… he did something to the Master Emerald…" Eve groans.
"He what?" Nic asks.
Lein-Da turns to Finitevus, "That's what I like to know. We trusted you and I allowed you into the Legion. You'll pay for this, you pale…"
"It's too late now, Lien-Da! We have to regroup!" Remington says, stopping her from trying to go violent.
"Fine," Lien-Da says, defeated.
Then commands, "Legionnaire, we must evacuate! Bring the hedgehog and her friends with us!"
The Legionnaires begin to evacuate while some have their guns held out to the group.
"Uh. I'm not liking this," Fiona says.
"And there's nowhere else to run," Nic says.
Suddenly, Eve stands up on her feet as the dark energy continues to emit from her body. Her eyes open to reveal green color and uses a powerful Chaos Energy to throw Chaos Spears and destroy the weapons in one shot. Lien-Da and the Legionnaire are shocked.
"Was that a Chaos Spear?" Fioan asks.
"Yeah, but much more powerful," Nic says.
The girls notice that something is flicking on her body, some kind of outfit and armor.
"And… what's that appearing on Eve? Some kind of outfit?" Fiona asks.
Seeing what is happening, the rest of the Legion leave the Chamber in order to regroup with the rest of them. Eve then collapses on the ground and passes out. Fiona and Nic rushes to Eve and sees that she is still clutching her arms around her body. Fiona picks Eve and has her wrapped around her arms. They can tell she's in a lot of pain.
"Eve doesn't look good at all. She looks like she's in a lot of pain. That weird Chaos Energy VooDoo must have done something to her." Nic says.
Fiona glares at Finitevus and demands, "What did you do to Eve and Knuckles?! You better answer or else!"
Finitevus simply ignores them and turns to see Knuckles floating over the Master Emerald.
Fimitevus says to Knuckles, "Knuckles… you had this power before, remember? But you were so young at the time that you would've destroyed everything in your path. I can help you mold the power into something you can control, and we'll set everything right."
"Everything… right…" Knuckles softly speaks.
Then Finitevus says, "You must become more than a mere Guardian. Think! Who was the one being who could command the power of the Gods?"
"Enerjak!" Knuckles answers.
Suddenly, a strange outfit along with armor and a helmet begins to appear around Knuckles. Fiona and Nic are shocked to see what is happening to Knuckles.
"That's it! Keep listening, my boy! Become the being that will save this world and destroy this corrupted world," Finitevus says.
The girls gasp in shock to hear what Finitevus is saying. Soon, Knuckles begins to glow a bright gold color as he is gaining a blue bodysuit with gold armor, blue and gold shoes, helmet, and gloves with sharp spikes.
Nic demands, "Destroy it?! What are you talking about?!"
"It's quite simple. Knuckles will purge this world so it will begin its rebirth, with my guidance," Finitevus says.
"You're insane! Eve was right about you about something off about you!" Fiona shouts in rage.
"Maybe so. Truth be told, I was going to have Enerjak bring the hedgehog girl with her Master Emerald sword, but I suspected that Dimitri told you about my plan. Eve ended up saving me the trouble of having him brought her so I can place a hex on her as well," Finitevus says, and presents his hands to show a dark Chaos Energy.
"What do you mean by hex?!" Fiona asks, holding Eve tight as Nic stands in front of them and brings out her blaster.
"Like I said. I have a special hex in mind just for her. One that will bend her mind to my ideal of cleansing this world. After all, the Master Emerald Sword only works for the one who can fully wield its power," Finitevus says.
Nic turns to Fioan, "Keep an eye on Eve. Make a break for it when you have the chance."
"Right," Fiona answers with a nod.
Suddenly, something pulls them from the ground and disappears. Finitevus sees a Warp Ring from where they're standing and it closes from behind them.
Rather than being disappointed, he smirks, "Seems that Locke is aware of my plan. No matter, Knuckles will soon become the savior of this world. And it won't be long before Eve will fall under the hex that's already been placed on her."
Outside of the island, a bright gold beam of light rises from the ground and shines across the area. Soon, it shows Knuckles now wearing Enerjak's outfit, meaning the transformation is complete. Knuckles has become the demigod that will cause destruction on Mobius.
