Mogul Rising Saga Episode 1: Demand of the Ixis Sorcerer
A week has passed since the Enerjak incident, and the city is back to it's normal stage. Well, normal as possible. At the airfield, Sonic, Eve with Jazz, Maria, Sonia, and Manic are waiting with smiles on their faces.
Sonia happily says, "It won't be long now."
"Yeah. Can't wait to see them again," Manic says.
Eve turns to Maria, "So Maria, are you ready to meet Mina, Ash, and the band."
"Yes," Maria says with a nod.
Then says, "I can't wait to meet them."
Suddenly, they hear someone and look up in the sky to see a plane coming down for a landing. One the plane lands on the runway, it moves forward a little before slowing down and then comes to a stop entirely.
"That's the plane," Eve happily says.
"Well, we're going to find out now," Sonic says.
The doors open to reveal a certain long purple haired mongoose wearing an outfit of black, purple, and green.
She waves happily and says, "You hoo! Long time no see!"
Not long, Mina, Ash, and the band get out of the plane to meet Sonic, Eve, and the others.
"Sonic. Eve. Manic. Sonia. It's great to see you all after so long. I miss you very much," Mina happily says.
"Welcome back to the city Mina," Sonic says.
"Yeah. It's been so long since we last saw you at Bunnie's Wedding. Of course, we saw your performances on TV," Eve says.
"It's also awesome to see you too, Ash," Manic says.
"Yeah. It's good to be back in New Mobotropolis after so long being on tour," Ash says.
Sonia then notices a few bags Mina is holding.
"What did you get there? Your luggage?" Sonia asks.
"No. I brought presents," Mina happily says.
Soon, Mina gives the group presents. Sonic, Eve, Sonia, and Manic each received a medallion and they represent the instrument they play. Sonic has a blue guitar, Manic has a green drum set, Sonia has a magenta keytar, and Eve has a black and red microphone.
"Thanks Mina, they're really pretty," Eve says.
"Yeah. They look way past cool," Sonic says.
"You're welcome," Mina says.
Then turns to Maria and brings out a small box, "Here you go. I'm guessing you're Maria. It's nice to meet you"
"Thank you. It's nice to meet you, too, Mina," Maria happily says.
Maria takes the box and opens it to reveal a necklace with a heart shaped Rainbow Quartz stone.
"It's beautiful," Maria says with sparkles in her eyes.
"I'm glad you like it. Eve has sent me a letter and told us all about you," Mina says.
Maria becomes confused and turns to Eve who says, "Almost everything."
"Yeah. She told us that you were her friend from the ARK and somehow became a hedgehog. Truth to be told, I was shocked that someone as nice as you is related to Eggman, but it's nice to have a Robotnik who isn't bent on taking over the world," Ash says with a smile.
"Aaaash, be nice," Mina sternly says.
Ash chuckles, "I was only kidding."
"It's okay. I've been doing okay. And well, I was actually able to battle his robots once or um twice," Maria says.
"That's good to hear," Mina happily says.
Ash begins to walk out and says, "I'm gonna go get the band settled. I'll see you guys later."
"Kay. Later," Sonic says.
"Bye Sweetie!" Mina happily says.
Sometime later, the hedgehogs and Mina reach Freedom HQ and walk inside to see Mighty and Ray working with Tails and Cosmo on one of the equipment while Sally is giving instructions to Geoffrey and Hershey at the table.
"Hey guys, we're back and brought Mina, too," Eve happily says.
Tails turns to see the mongoose, "Hi Mina."
"Hi Tails. Cosmo. Mighty. Ray," Mina happily says.
Sally walks to her and says, "Hi Mina, welcome back to New Mobotropolis. It's been a long time, has it?"
"It sure has, but I'm glad to see you again," Mina says.
Then turns to Mighty and Ray, "And I haven't seen you and the Chaotix in a while too? How are Knuckles and the others doing?"
Sonic and the others look a bit concerned and have sad and worried looks in their eyes. Mina notices the sad atmosphere in the air.
Mighty sadly says, "The rest of the team is good. Shaken a bit, but…"
"Knux was brain-washed into playing the 'Ultimate Villain' thing. We got him back, but he's been keeping to himself on the island since then."
"Oh no!" Mina says, stunned.
"What's more, I ended up being exposed by the same spell that hurt Knuckles. I didn't play the villain role, but the hex caused me a lot of pain" Eve says.
"You too?" Mina asks, worried.
"Most of the Chaotix are keeping an eye on him, but he's taking things really rough," Mighty says.
"It'll be okay, dude. You know Knuckles. He'll come around," Sonic says.
"I hope so, Knuckles felt pretty bad about it," Eve sadly says.
"I'm sure Knuckles will feel better soon. We can visit him when we have time," Sonia says.
"I hope," Eve says.
Mina turns to see the two black and white couples, "So how are you two doing?"
"We're doing fine. It's good to see you. Geoffrey and I have been working hard lately," Hershey says.
"True, but I'm glad I'm able to do it with you, especially starting our new life together," Geoffrey says.
"Me too," Hershey says.
The two then snuggle with each other with smiles.
Eve whispers to Mina, "They're newly weds if you can guess."
"I can tell," Mina says.
Suddenly, Nicole appears on the screen, "Welcome home, Mina! Sorry I missed you at the airport."
"That's okay Nicole, I suspect you've been busy," Mina says.
"I have," Nicole happily says.
Then says, "I'm glad I caught you and Eve here, Sonic. Somebody wants to see you two."
"Little ol' us? Who is it?" Sonic asks.
"Mammoth Mogul at the Detention Center," Nicole says.
"Mammoth Mogul?! What does he want to talk to us about?!" Eve asks, shocked and confused.
"He didn't say. He said that he will only talk to you and Sonic specifically," Nicole says.
"Oh joy," Sonic says with an annoyed look.
Sometime later, Sonic and Eve are standing in front of the entrance of the Detention Center for Mogul's request. As much as Sonic and Eve don't want to, they think it's important to see what he requires from them.
Sonic groans, "Please let him have a sore throat."
"Don't worry Sonic, we'll go in there, see what he wants, and be back. Remember, that Sally said that you're with Bunnie and Antoine for an assignment," Eve says.
"Yeah Yeah," Sonic says.
The two hedgehogs then walk down the stairs to see the cells that are created so that they have a glass wall and no windows. The Hooligans and Naugus are also inside.
Nack leans against the wall and angrily says, "Look who's come down from high to grace us with their presence."
"Save it, you jokers. I've only got enough patience to listen to Mogul, and that's pushing it," Sonic remarks.
Eve sighs, "Sonic, let's just talk to him and then we'll be done."
Sonic nods his head and walks over to the end of the Detention Center.
Sonic questions, "What's got your trunk in a knot, Big Guy?"
In the cell they see the Ixis Mammoth who is simile stare at the two.
He then says, "You have my gratitude for deciding to acquiesce to my summons. Vis-a-vis our present status of stalemate, I propose an armistice to arbitrate the conditions of your surrender and my magnanimous departure."
"'Stalemate?' Dude, we've got you in a tiny cell that resists your magic. You don't have enough mind power to do more than give me a headache. And you want me to surrender?" Sonic says.
"Sonic?" Eve whispers.
"He's got you dead-to-right, Mogul. You've got nothing," Nack replies.
"I'll thank you to keep your ignorance to yourself," Mogul says.
"If you don't mind me asking, what is it that you want?" Eve firmly asks.
Mogul places his hands together and says, "I will give you this once chance to end this without confrontation. Cede to my demands, or I shall raise my iteration of the Fearsome Foursome to do my bidding."
"Where would you find a new… Fearsome… Foursome..?" Sonic questions, looking around.
He then begins to laugh, "Sure, Mogul! Send a bunch of guys who are as trapped as you are!"
"Sonic, I don't think this is funny," Eve calmly says.
"What else can Mogul do, sis? He's trapped in that box with no way out. I hope I can sleep tonight!" Sonic says, and continues laughing.
Eve simply looks at Sonic with a concern expression. Then turns her head to notice Mogul doesn't seem to be insulted by Sonic's mockery at all.
"I know Mogul is a jerk, but Sonic doesn't need to insult him like that. But… what is with that look in his eyes," Eve thinks.
Then begins to wonder, "Mogul is up to something, and appears to know something that we don't."
"Come on sis, let's go. I need to leave with Bunnie and Antoine," Sonic says.
Eve sighs, "Fine."
Sonic and Eve then leave the Detention Center to get back to Freedom HQ. Mogul simply shows a firm expression on his face, seeing that the two hedgehogs aren't willing to follow his demand.
Sometime later in front of Freedom HQ, Sonic, Bunnie, and Antoine are taking the Tornado to go on their assignment.
"So what is it we're doing again?" Sonic asks.
"You, Bunnie, and Antoine are going to make an important delivery to Mercia. These supplies should help them. It is very important Prince Rob O' and the Mercian Freedom Fighters get them," Sally says, holding one of the boxes.
Rotor and Manic put a few of the boxes in the back of the plane. She passes it to Bunnie and she puts it on her lap.
Bunnie says, "Sure thing Sally Girl, we'll be sure to get it to them with no trouble."
"Yeah. We got everything taken care of," Sonic says.
Eve walks over and says, "Okay, but promise you'll be careful."
"Aren't I always," Sonic says.
"I know, but um," Eve says.
"What's up sis? You're not still concerned about the so-called threat Mogul said?" Sonic asks.
Eve sighs, "Maybe a little. I know that Mogul doesn't seem like a threat right now, but I can't stop getting the feeling that Mogul is up to something. Almost as if he knows something that we don't."
"You worry too much sis. That Jerk in the box is trapped along with the Hooligans and Naugus are trapped in the Detention Center. And Nicole made sure that none of them can get out of there," Sonic says.
"I suppose you're right," Eve says.
"So don't worry. I'll bet Mogul is just bluffing about all that Fearsome Four mumbo jumbo," Sonic says.
"If you say so," Eve says.
"Well, we better get going. We'll see you tomorrow," Sonic says.
"Bye Sonic," Eve says.
Bunnie drives the Tornado with Antoine and Sonic on it. They fly off to make the delivery to Rob O' and the Mercian Freedom Fighters in Merica.
Later in the night, Eve is inside her room as she sits in front of her mirror and brushes her quills. Once she is done, Eve then puts the brush on the desk and sits down on the bed. She then picks up her flute and begins to play a small tune.
(Lugia's Song) Short Version.
Eve continues to play the song as she starts to feel a little calm. However, she stops in the middle of playing it and sighs in concern about what happened in the Detention earlier today. She knows that Sonic is right about Mogul and the others are trapped, and there's not much he can do about it. Sadly, she is very worried about what he could be up to. Unknown to her, her concerns are going to soon be proven right.
Meanwhile in the Detention Center, Nack is laying down on a wooden bed that is attacked on the wall with chains. He lays down on it as he twirls his hat with an annoyed expression.
He mutters, "Stupid, smug hedgehog 'I hope I can sleep tonight.' Puh. I wish I could make him eat his words."
Suddenly, Mogul says, "Then you should enjoy this vicariously."
"You can't do diddy. Even your psychics or whatever don't have the range to do anything," Nack says.
In Mogul cell, he is simply sitting with his legs crossed and his hands on his knees with his eyes closed.
"To most wouldn-be-victims I will grant you that. However, my telepathy can reach to those I have already marked," Mogul says.
Confused, Nack sits up and asks, "Wait… 'marked'...?"
Mogul then opens his eyes and a green diamond appears on his forehead.
With an evil grin, Mogul says, "Let it never be said I do not p;an without contingencies. There are many I have seeded a telepathic bond in during my travels.
"Anybody I know and hate?" Nack asks.
Just then, his eyes begin to glow a green color, "Most assuredly. I have had my respite, and I am rejuvenated. Sonic's brashness has forced my hand. Thus I reach across the ether to my imminent minions. He will be in quite a shock when he returns…"
In her bedroom, Mina is fast asleep in her bed. Suddenly, Mina begins to toss and turn in her sleep. Suddenly, a green diamond shape symbol begins to glow in her sleep.
Suddenly, Mogul's voice appears in her mind, "Mina… remember… remember when Robotnik terrorized your old home. Remember how you sought your dear mother. I found you. I saw your potential. I enhanced your natural powers, but robbed your memories. The best pawns are the unwitting ones. You would not stumble upon your new powers until later. Yet, you failed to use it and followed your heart elsewhere. Remember… and I will undo that mistake."
Just then, Mina sits up slowly as if she's asleep.
Mogul says in her thoughts, "Rise my first."
Mina then opens her eyes to reveal a green glow.
Sleeping in one of the rooms of Freedom HQ, Mighty is sleeping in one bed and Ray sleeps on a bed at the other side of the room. Mighty begins to turn in his sleep and struggles to stay asleep. Like Mina, Mighty also has a green glowing diamond on his forehead as well.
Then Mogul speaks to him using telepathy, "Mighty… remember… you were too little to realize your parents' thievery. You and your sister were oblivious in your innocence. You did not understand why they were imprisoned. Robotnik attacked and you were separated from your sister. All you wanted was a save to save them and to find your sister. Remember now that I gave it to you. Such freakish made you a pariath. Remember how you Mercia to search for her and wondered until you found as final choice to shelter. Now I've come to claim you."
Might then sits up and still has his eyes closed.
Then Mogul says, "Rise my second."
Then Mighty opens his eyes to reveal green and tosses the covers away.
In Tails's bedroom, the young twin fox child is fast asleep with the covers over him. Tails begins to struggle in his sleep and like the other two, Tails has a green diamond appear on his forehead as well.
"Miles… remember… remember how you and your friends tried to defeat me, but used my own Magic to counter. I have captured you and Eve within my power to use you as my hostage. Remember that isn't the only thing I did. As someone close to the two hedgehogs would make a valuable asset. I marked you while you were unconscious. Your rescue was inevitable, but neither you nor Sonic and Eve knew you were now bound to me. I summon you now to serve after all this time," Mogul says, using his psychic ability.
Tails begin to sit up.
"Rise my third," Mogul says.
Then Tails eyes glow green as well.
With that, Mina is fully dressed and is leaving the house, but is noticed by Ash, who is half asleep. Mighty leaves as well, and is noticed by Ray who is confused. Tails walks out of the house and heads off, but Cosmo walks out and wonders where Tails is going.
Having them bound to him, Mogul says, "That's it… now for the Fourth. She will need convincing… she may not be fully bound to me, but my spell is enough to contact her telepathically."
In her room, Eve is sitting on her bed and isn't able to get to sleep. Eve sighs and decides to leave through her bedroom window, and lands on the ground in front of the house. She walks to the Power Ring Pool to sit next to it as she looks at her reflection.
Eve sighs, "Why am I getting a feeling something's wrong. I shouldn't let what Mogul said get to me like that. That guy is just…"
"I need to calm down and figure out what Mogul wants and what will he do, if we don't give into his demands," Eve thinks.
Suddenly, Eve hears a loud bash and quickly turns around to see a tree falling down to her. Eve quickly dodge and the tree hits the ground.
"What?" Eve asks.
Suddenly, something speeds right past her, and something grabs Eve by her quill.
"Ow!" Eve yelps.
Eve is carried by something and is thrown to the ground.
Eve sits up and rubs the back of her head, "Like ow!"
Suddenly, Eve feels a bad pain in her head and presses her hands on it. Suddenly, the green diamond appears on her head.
Suddenly, she hears Mogul's voice, "Hello Eve, I see that I am still able to send my telepathy to you, but you are unable to be under my control."
"M-Mogul?!" Eve struggles with pain.
"You and your brother have been warned," Mogul says.
Eve is able to open her eyes and is shocked to see Mighty, Mina, and Tails are standing in front of her eyes with a green diamond on their forehead and they have green eyes.
Then Mogul speaks through the three friends, "Rise, my fourth."
Eve is completely stunned to see that three of her friends are now under Mogul's control, and he is able to send a psychic connection to Eve as well. She realizes that this is Mogul's warning, and is now taking action by using her friends.
