The Solaris Saga Episode 2: Places in the Same Time
The next day, at the Blue Typhoon, Eve, Sonia, Cosmo, Bunnie, and Cream are making breakfast for everyone. At the same time, Sonic, Sally, Manic, Maria, and Antoine are setting the table.
Sonic turns to the girls, "Hey girls, when is breakfast going to be ready. I'm hungry."
"Breakfast will be ready soon," Eve says.
"You should really know when to be patient Sonic. You're not a child you know," Sally says, putting the plates on the table.
"I'm the type of guy who likes to go fast, not to go slow," Sonic says.
Eve giggles, "You know Sonic, good things come to those who wait. You just need to wait a little longer before breakfast is ready."
"I know. I'm just hungry," Sonic says.
"Where are Tails and the others?" Maria asks.
"Rotor and Tails are with Fiona and Nic to help check on the defence system, control panels, things like that," Sonic says.
"Okay," Maria says with glee.
Hearing the Chaos, Maria turns her head and sees Shun sitting on the baby seats as he watches the Chaos play with a ball. The baby giggles with a smile as the Chaos bounce the ball on their heads. Maria giggles in reply. Amy and Galaxina walk into the dining room to see the others.
Amy yawns and says, "Good morning."
"Morning Amy," Manic says.
"Morning Galaxina," Maria says.
"Good morning, I see you all look kind of busy today," Galaxina says.
"Yeah. And you're just in time, Breakfast will be ready in a little bit," Bunnie says.
"Okay," Amy says.
Then Amy turns to Sonic and Sally, "So what are we going to do today?"
"Well, Tails and Rotor along with Me and Nicole are planning on going to see the ancient ruins of the royal palace in Kingdom Valley," Sally says.
Eve then brings a plate that is full of hash browns and places it on the table.
Then turns to Sally, "Kingdom Valley? Hmm, I think Shadow and I were there when we had a run in with that guy Mephiles."
"And with Eggman," Sonic says.
"Come to think of it, Didn't you and Shadow found Mephiles in a jungle area far from Soleanna?" Manic asks.
"We did. It makes me wonder if he's still around. I hate to think of what he's up to, especially since he has taken Shadow's appearance," Eve says.
"Don't worry sis, we'll be able to handle this Mephiles character. We took on a lot of bad guys, monsters, and robots. I'm sure we'll be able to take on this Mephiles," Sonic says.
"Maybe so, but I like to have our vacation stay a vacation, thank you very much," Amy says with her arms crossed.
"I'm sure we'll be able to have a good time without anything happening," Cosmo says.
"She's right. What's the worst that can happen?" Sonic questions.
Sally calmly says, "Try not to jinx it cause something always happens that always gets us into trouble."
"Don't be such a downer. Anyway, I'll go with you to the ruins too. It sounds cool," Sonic says.
"I like to come too," Amy says.
Bunnie says, "Antoine and I have already got plans."
"Oui, mademoiselle," Antoine says.
Soon, the two snuggle with each other.
"Are you two doing something?" Maria asks.
Sally giggles and whispers, "They sure are. They're going to go on a date."
Eve, Sonia, Jazz, and Amy giggle with smiles on their faces.
Sonia says, "Well then, we'll be happy to know that breakfast is ready."
"Finally, I'm starving," Sonic says.
Soon, the girls begin laughing again.
In another part of the forest outside of Soleanna, a dark purple portal appears and the silver hedgehog, Silver the Hedgehog jumps out of it and lands on the ground.
He looks around as he wonders, "Where am I?"
Then notices that Blaze and Mephiles aren't around.
He calls out, "Blaze?"
He turns in a different direction and calls out, "Blaze!"
But Blaze is nowhere in sight.
Silver says, "I guess we all got separated."
Silver looks around to see the forest that is full of trees, bushes, and even small animals.
"This is so unbelievable," Silver says, amazed.
He has never seen anything like this from his time period. He then notices a path up ahead near the trees.
"Now I must fight for the future!" Silver says, determined to save his world and hurries off.
In the city of Soleanna, Eve along with the girls: Sonia, Cream and Cheese, Maria, Cosmo and Galaxina, Fiona, and Nic are walking around the city to explore and do some shopping.
"So where are we going to go first?" Cream asks.
"There are so many different stores, it's hard to tell," Fioan says.
"You can say that again," Nic says.
"I'm surprised that you two decided not to go with Sonic and the others to the ancient ruins. I figure that you like to explore ancient ruins and search for treasure and stuff," Cosmo says.
"True, but it's nice to go shopping once in a while," Fiona says.
Besides, I heard some strange stories about the old Royal Palace. I heard there is weird stuff that went on in that building," Nic says.
"I think I remember reading a bit about it too, and Rouge told me about it as well. Apparently, the old royal palace was where the Solaris Project was first created. It's also when Mephiles and Iblis were formed when the explosion occurred," Eve says.
Maria turns to Eve and asks, "Eve, do you think Shadow can come if you ask? I do wish he could come."
"I know Maria, but Shadow is busy on an important mission with Rouge and the others. He's a very busy agent," Eve says.
"I think he should at least make time to spend some quality time with his sisters," Galaxina calmly says.
"It can't be helped. Shadow and his team along with the rest of G.U.N have been busy, especially when Eggan could be attacking," Sonia says.
"That's true," Fiona says.
"He is a real pain in the neck," Nic says.
"You and the rest of Mobius think so," Eve says.
Then the girls begin laughing with smiles on their faces.
While Eve and the others are shopping, Sonic, Sally, and the others arrive at a ruined building made of stone somewhere in the middle of the forest. The palace has practically fallen apart and many of the walls of the building have large holes and debris around.
"Wow! This place is so big," Amy says.
"Yeah. This place looks so cool," Manic says.
"I have to agree. The ancient palace looks like it was well constructed. It's too bad that it was destroyed and then abandoned for these years," Sally says.
Holding Nicole's computer, "Well, according to the data, the Solaris Project was supposed to contain a special phenomenon known as the Flames of Hope. Apparently, the first rulers of Soleanna and others hoped to use the flame that will help them lead to a new Utopia, by traveling through time."
"Travel through time?" Sonic asks, confused.
"Apparently, however, looking over the date, the Solaris project didn't go so well. They couldn't control it so it exploded. The Solaris project was soon spitted into two component beings," Rotor says.
"And one of them is Mephiles, the one Eve told us," Manic says.
Then Tails says, "And Iblis, but also known as the Flames of Disaster. However, according to the date, they were able to find the black oozing creature which they called Mephiles and sealed it in the Scepter of Darkness. The other being that they called the Flames of Disaster, it died out after it was cornered."
"It died out?" Sonic asks.
"Apparently. Anyway, since then, the palace has been abandoned, so no one has been here since," Rotor says.
"Sounds cool," Sonic says.
"Yeah. We should totally check this out," Manic says.
"Yeah. We might find something in there," Tails says.
"I don't know, the place has been abandoned for centuries, and I think it might be dangerous to go in there," Sally says.
"Come on, we handled much more dangerous things than some old crumble castle," Sonic says.
"And were able to intrude Eggman's base multiple times and trash his factories. This place will be a cake walk," Manic says.
"Nic and Fiona also traveled through ancient ruins and lost cities as well before they joined the Freedom Fighters," Amy says.
"Hmm. I suppose you're right. Let's just look around a little and make sure we're back in time to meet the others in the city," Sally says.
"Yeah. Let's go," Sonic says.
Sonic and Tails begin to walk towards the ruins. Sally and the others follow as well.
"I like to see what's inside. I wonder if there's any lost treasure for us to find," Amy says.
"I would have been nice if Nic and Fiona were with us, but they decided to do some shopping and look around town," Tails says.
"I'm sure the girls are having a fun time. Besides, it might be a little dangerous with Cream and Cheese to come," Sonic says.
"Yeah. Cosmo and Galaxina as well. And little Shun," Sally adds.
Meanwhile, Blaze finds herself walking around an area that has wooden houses circled into one area. There are also palm trees.
She looks around as she says, "So this is the past of the place Soleanna... I hope Silver is OK. He's pretty insecure when he's alone."
She then begins to think about what the shady character Mephiles says to them. "The Iblis Triggers. Blue hedgehog… Black Hedgehog…"
She then says, "I do remember meeting one black hedgehog, but… she can't be one of the Iblis Triggers… can she?"
She then lowers her head and begins to look around some more. She is deeply concerned about who the Iblis Triggers are. She just hopes that this Mephiles is wrong about it.
Blaze then sighs, "It has been a while since I met Eve, especially since I'm still in search of the Sol Emeralds. I do hope Silver doesn't do anything rash."
Back in town, Eve and the others are looking at the shopping outlet. They walk around as the sun shines down on them and many people are walking around. They either shop, buy or sell food, and chat with friends and family.
"Wow! This place looks like it has everything," Eve says.
"I agree. There are so many different stores," Cosmo says.
"Let's go find some nice stuff. And to get you a new toy," Eve says, looking at Shun.
Shun giggles while Jazz pets the little Spider on the head and the baby giggle in reply.
"He really likes you and Jazz, Eve," Cream happily says.
"Chao Chao," Cheese happily replies.
"I know and I love him too. Of course, I also love my baby brother and sister, Dimitri and Ichigo, and my brothers Sonic and Shadow. I guess you can say that I have a lot of love to go around for my friends and families," Eve says.
"I have to agree. You're a very loving and caring hedgehog," Galaxina says.
Then Nic says, "And you know when you need to be violent with someone, especially with Dr. Eggman."
"Yeah. You know how to beat his robots and any other enemies we've faced," Fiona says.
Maria smiles and says, "Wow Eve, I have to admit, you're very different than back when you lived on the ARK."
"What do you mean?" Eve asks.
Maria giggles and says, "Back then, you used to have trouble controlling your powers and well, you get a little too wild with your speed. Plus, you used to fall down a lot. Of course, you used to look up to me and especially Shadow."
"I think I remember that. I think I also remember that I used to be a little shy when I first started living with you. But with you, Shadow, mom, dad, and grandfather, I was okay," Eve replies.
Maria nods her head, "Now you're all grown up, and you follow your heart to protect everyone on the planet, all those who are family. I wish I could help you protect the planet."
"Don't forget, you're officially a Freedom Fighter, well more like an apprentice, and I'm your mentor. Plus, Sally, Sonia, and the others have been helping you too," Maria says.
"Yeah. And when we get back, Amy and I agree with Eve to teach you how to ride an Extreme Gear," Fiona says.
Maria smiles, "That sounds like fun, but I'm also a little nervous."
"Don't worry, riding and Extreme Gear is actually very easy. Plus, it will be good for you to wear a helmet until you can ride it better," Nic says.
"Okay," Maria says.
Eve and the others continue to walk on the grounds of the outlet to look at the stores. The girls look around to see so many different clothes, toys, and other stuff. The group soon finish some of their shopping and also some supplies for their stay in Soleanna. They all have a lot of fun.
Meanwhile, Silver continues his search to find the Iblis Triggers that Mephiles explains to him. He soon finds himself in a desert area. He looks around to see the sun begins to set, making the sky turn dark. He also notices a city close by. Yet, he is amazed to see the place that has green grass and trees, water going into the city calmly, and the gentle breeze on his face.
"This looks so beautiful," Silver says to himself.
He then walks closer to the city close by to see the city and the many beings living there.
Silver says to himself, "Everything is so great here. The sky is gorgeous, and everyone's happy…"
He then shakes his head, "Right. I need to find the Triggers so that the future could be like this. I wonder if they're in that city there."
Silver then uses his powers to lift himself into the air and fly towards the city.
Back at the ruins, Sonic, Sally, and the others have finished their explorations, and are going to start heading back to meet the others. However, something is on Sally's mind.
Sonic walks up to Sally and asks, "What's up?"
"I don't know. I guess I'm just thinking about the ruined castle we saw inside. The castle looks like it hasn't been used in centuries and many of the rooms are blocked by debris or some steel doors," Sally says.
"I agree. I want to look inside and see what we can find," Amy says.
""True, but… I don't know… but I can't shake the feeling that we were being watched in the castle," Sally says.
"Come on Sal, you worry too much," Sonic says.
"I suppose, but I can't get this feeling that we weren't alone in that old castle," Sally says.
"I'm sure it wasn't anything dangerous there. No one has been here in centuries," Tails says.
"I have to agree with Sally about it. I couldn't shake the feeling that someone else is here. Then again, there have been a few animals around, but still…" Rotor says.
He places his hand on his chin and begins to think.
"I'm sure it was nothing. Let's get back and meet the others, I'm getting hungry.
Later in the night, Sonic, Eve, and all their friends join up again and are having dinner at one of the outdoor restaurants of Soleanna. Everyone is enjoying their dinner and the food is great.
Fiona says, "The food tastes delicious."
"What's in their sauce? I sure like to know," Cream replies.
"These are great chili dogs," Sonic says.
Eve feeds little Shun a bit of the mashed potatoes and also drinks from his bottle. Jazz is and Cheese are eating apple slices.
"The food tastes great," Amy says.
"So guys, how was going to the ancient ruins?" Fiona asks.
"The ancient ruins of the palace are old, dusty, and…" Manic says.
"And some places of the room are either blocked or completely destroyed," Sonic adds.
"Blocked?" Maria asks, curiously.
"Well, just a few rooms. We tried to open them, but we couldn't get through. We suspected it was sealed off after the incident," Sally says.
"Possibly," Nic replies.
"Not only that, but I'm actually getting the feeling someone was actually at the ruins before we were," Rotor says.
The group looks at Rotor with a confused expression.
"What do you mean, Rotor?" Sally asks.
Sonia says, "While Rotor and I were looking around, we found a large sealed door that is possible where the original Solaris Project was being created. However, the steel door is making it hard for us to get there. Not only that, we actually saw a keypad that looks like it's brand new. Like it was put there recently."
The group begins to grow a bit weary.
"You're saying that some have gone in the ruins before you guys did, but who? And what's more, why would they have the door sealed?" Eve questions.
"That is something we weren't sure about," Sonia says.
"Do you think it's possible someone could have been there before us," Tails replies.
"Possibly. We might never know," Sonic says, shrugging his shoulders.
"Maybe, but I can't get the feeling something is off, but I can't think what," Rotor says.
"I just hope nothing bad will happen. We kind of have a lot of that problem," Eve says.
"What the worst that can happen?" Sonic questions, and eats a chili dog.
Eve then grows even more concern and knows that something always happens, and always will. Then again, what kind of trouble they can get when they're supposed to be on vacation. Unknown to them, Silver the Hedgehog is standing on the rooftop close by and has Sonic and Eve at his sights.
"I finally found you… the Iblis Triggers," Silver says, determined and clutches his fist.
Sometime later, everyone already returns to the Blue Typhoon and are sleeping in their rooms for the night. All except for Sonic and Eve. Eve is rocking little Shun in her arms as Jazz is sleeping on his lap.
Eve smiles and says, "It sure is a nice night."
"Yeah. Now this is a vacation," Sonic says.
"Yeah. It's been a while since we can just relax and have fun with our friends. When we try to, something always gives us trouble," Eve says.
"You can say that again. I'm glad we can spend time together without something out to destroy us," Sonic says.
"Yeah," Eve says and lets out a calm sigh with glee.
Eve then says, "You know. I remember reading something in one of the books the first time I came here. It said a prophecy that one day, Solaris' rage would destroy. His wrath comes in the form of the Flames of Disaster, which is also what Iblis was also named. Thousands of years ago, the Soleannians almost faced the full force of his fury… It… it never explained how it will happen. With Iblis died out, no one will know."
"That some story, but Iblis was destroyed according to the legend, so the prophecy won't happen. The best we can do is move forward," Sonic says.
"Right," Eve says with a smile.
She stands up and says, "I'll tuck Shun in and I'll get some rest myself."
"I think I'll stay out here a little more," Sonic says and stands up.
Suddenly, Sonic senses something and has his hand in front of Eve.
"You sensed that?" Eve asks.
"I did," Sonic says.
Suddenly, something kind of teal powerful begins to fly at them. Sonic grabs Eve, Jazz, and Shun, and dodges out of the way before they are hit. Jazz soon wakes up and flies round in a panic.
Suddenly, someone says, "I've been looking for you."
Sonic, Eve, and Jazz turn their heads to see the silver hedgehog levitating himself to the ground as he says, "You're the Iblis Triggers."
He then confronts them, "Your actions will condemn us all."
"Iblis Triggers? And what do you mean 'condemn us all,'" Eve asks, confused.
Sonic then asks, "Who are you?"
"My name is Silver. For the future of the world. I will destroy you!" Silver says.
Sonic and Eve are stunned to hear what the Hedgehog is saying and is planning. He plans to eliminate them.
