The Solaris Saga Episode 3: Attacked and Search for the Hedgehogs
Stunned by the assault they almost taken, Sonic and Eve find themselves being confronted by the silver hedgehog known as Silver. He calls them Iblis Triggers and says that he is going to destroy them.
Silver says, "Time for you two to disappear, Iblis Triggers! You two must die!"
Sonic and Eve are shocked to heat what Silver says to them.
"What? What are you talking about?" Eve asks, stunned
"I don't know what you mean by that, but I know what to do about it," Sonic says.
Sonic begins to spin dash towards Silver. Silver dodges out of the way and uses psychic energy to attack Sonic. Sonic continues to spin dash as the attacks try to strike him. Some of the energy ends up hitting the side of the Blue Typhoon.
In one of the rooms in the Blue Typhoon, the noises end up catching the attention of Tails who are asleep in his bed. Hearing the noises causes him to quickly lift his head as he wakes up in surprise.
"What was that?" Tails asks himself.
Tails quickly leaves the room as Sally, Sonia, and Manic do the same.
"Tails, did you hear that noise?" Sally asks.
"I did. It came from outside," Tails says.
"Aren't Sonic and Eve outside with Shun and Jazz?" Manic asks.
"They are. Something's wrong," Sonia says.
"Then let's find out," Sally says.
The four then hurry down the hall to get outside of the Typhoon to check on the siblings outside. Outside of the Blue Typhoon, Sonic continues to fight against Silver. Sonic continues to spin dash and is able to catch Silver off guard. When they both land on the ground, Sonic and Silver Charge at each other and have their wrists collided with one another. They both glare at each other and let out growls.
Just then, the door to the Typhoon opens and Tails, Sally, Sonia, and Manic hurry outside.
Tails calls out, "Sonic!"
Sonic turns his head, "Tails! Get Eve, Jazz, and Shun inside!"
The four are shocked to see this. Suddenly, Silver uses his psychic powers to push Sonic away, but the blue hedgehog is able to land on his feet. The two continue to fight against each other. Eve then hurries to the others as Jazz flies to them.
Sonia asks, "Eve, what happened?"
"We were outside when that silver color hedgehog came out of nowhere and attacked us. He said some weird things to us. Saying that we're the Iblis Triggers and that we must die," Eve says.
Tails, Sally, and the other two hedgehogs gasp in shock to hear what Eve says. Then Silver sends up psychic waves that push everyone off their feet. Before Sonic can reach, Silver uses his psychic powers to trap Sonic in his tracks.
Sonic struggles, "Wha… what's going on? I can't move!"
"Sonic!" Sally says, shocked.
Silver then lifts his hand and says, "Time to end this!"
Eve gasps in shock and knows that Silver plans to destroy Sonic. Eve quickly passes Shun to Sally and then spins dashes at Silver with full force. Eve slams Silver at a tree.
Eve lands on the ground and angrily says, "Leave my brother alone!"
She then turns to Sonic who has fallen to his knees because of the attack and she helps him up.
"Sonic, are you okay?" Eve asks.
"Yeah. Thanks for the same there," Sonic says.
They soon hear a groan and turn their head to see Silver getting up after being crushed to the ground. He turns his head to see Eve helping Sonic up with the Chao flying to them.
Silver thinks, "No wonder Mephiles wants me to separate them. They seem powerful while working together. Especially her, she seems powerful and with that sword, it shows that she has skill. I need to separate them so I can take care of the blue hedgehog and Mephiles will take care of the black one."
He stands up as he thinks, "I'll be sure the Iblis Triggers are destroyed so that the future can be saved."
Then he unleashes his Psychic energy at the toe hedgehogs.
Sonic notices, "Look out!"
He grabs Eve and dodges out of the way with Jazz. Then everyone heads back to the Blue Typhoon.
Eve asks, "How is Shun?"
"He's okay," Sally says, giving Eve the baby.
Eve is relieved that she holds him in her arms and little Shun is still sleeping.
"We need to get inside and get out of here," Sonic says.
Sally turns to Tails, "Tails, you need to get Rotor and help activate the security system and protective shield."
"Right," Tails says with a nod.
Before they can get inside, a psychic energy strikes them, separating Sonic, Eve, Jazz, and Shun from the others. The two hedgehogs land on the ground while Shun is in Eve's arms, and Jazz hangs on to her head.
"Sonic!" Tails panics.
"Eve!" Manic says, shocked.
Sonic and Eve lift themselves up.
"We're okay," Sonic says.
Eve turns her head and worriedly says, "But not for long!"
Sonic and Eve turn their heads to see Silver walking towards them. Seeing that they're in danger, Manic brings out three metal balls from each hand, then throws them to the ground creating a large smoke screen.
Sally calls out, "Sonic! Take Eve and get out of here!"
"We'll try to stall him!" Tails says.
"Hurry and make sure you two stick together!" Sonia adds.
"Don't worry," Sonic says.
Then turns to Eve, "Let's go."
Eve nods her head and takes Sonic's hand. Soon, the two begin to use their super speed to leave the Blue Typhoon and into the dark woods. When the smoke clears, Silver can see that his targets are gone.
"Where'd they go? I have to find them," Silver says to himself.
Then uses his psychic energy to lift himself off the ground and flies in the air to search for the two hedgehogs. Luckily, Tails and the others are already inside the Blue Typhoon and running down the halls to reach the bridge.
"We need to get the Blue Typhoon set and take flight. We gotta find Sonic and Eve before that hedgehog does," Tails says.
"I'll see if the others can ride the X-Tornadoes and Tornadoes with me so we can search for them," Sonia says.
Suddenly, Amy's voice calls out, "Sally! Tails!"
The four stops and turns their heads to see Amy, Rotor, Fiona, Nic, and everyone else hurrying towards them.
"Guys, what's going on? We heard some weird noise," Fiona asks.
"Yes. It sounds like a fight was going on," Cosmo replies.
"Where are the sugar hogs?" Bunnie asks.
"We'll explain everything the best we can, but right now we have to hurry. Sonic and Eve's lives are in danger," Tails says.
"What? Sonic is in trouble! What happened?" Amy asks.
"We'll try to explain the best we can, but we need to go find them before this weird silver hedgehog kills them," Manic says.
Somewhere in the forest, Sonic and Eve continue to use their speed to run through the forest. Because it is dark, they also know that they need to be careful.
"We need to find a place to hide," Eve says.
"I know. I don't think that hedgehog will stop until we're both dead," Sonic says.
"Why is that hedgehog against us?" Eve asks.
"I don't know, but he said some crazy things and the fact that we must die or whatever nonsense he was saying to us," Sonic says.
"I don't know, but I remember him saying that we're the Iblis Triggers, but it doesn't make sense. According to the stories, it died out when the Solaris project was split in two," Eve says.
"I don't know, but one of us, including Jazz and Shun will be safe. Not until we stop Silver," Sonic says.
Eve grows continue and looks at the little Spider in her arms who is fast asleep. She knows that Shun and Jazz will become targets as well if Silver finds them. Sonic and Eve continue to run through the forest as they hold each other's hands tightly to be sure they stick together.
Eve looks around, "It's very dark out here. It's almost hard to see a thing."
"I know, but we need to keep running," Sonic says.
Sonic and Eve continue the chase as they go through the forest and see a clearing up ahead. However, they come across a cliff and come to a stop. Suddenly, the rocks of the cliff breaks from under Eve's feet and she begins to fall.
"Eve!" Sonic and continues to hold on to her hand.
The rocks break from under his feet and the two begin to slide down the cliff as they hold on to each other along with Jazz and Shun. The two scream as they slide down the rocket ledge and soon, they fall down the cliff until they splash into the water.
Suddenly, a bubble comes riding from the water and is drifting down the river. In the bubble are Sonic, Eve, Jazz, and Shun. Eve is able to quickly use her Chaos energy to create a bubble to protect themselves, and float along the river since Sonic can't swim.
Eve turns to Sonic, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Sonic says.
Then looks at himself as water drips from his fur and quills, "Yuck! I forgot that I hate getting wet!"
"I know, but is Shun and Jazz okay?" Eve replies.
Jazz shakes the water and Sonic picks up Shun. The baby lets out a yawn and opens his eyes to look to see Sonic. He simply giggles and tries to reach all four hands out to him.
Sonic giggles and says, "He's fine, just a bit wet."
"I'm glad," Eve says with a calm smile.
The two hedgehogs look ahead to see the river is carrying them inside a large tunnel. The bubble drifts inside the cave as it becomes very dark inside. They hope that they are able to find shelter for the night and a good hiding place from the silver hedgehog.
Back at the Blue Typhoon, an emergency rescue mission is going to take place. Tails types on the controls of the Typhoon with Sally and Nicole. Amy, Maria, and Cosmo are with them.
"Alright everyone, I'm getting the deck ready for an emergency launch to find Sonic and Eve," Tails says.
Sally turns to the screen where Nicole is, "Nicole, did you find any information about that silver color hedgehog."
"I haven't been able to find anything. There hasn't been any sightings of a silver hedgehog with psychokinesis," Nicole says.
"Then who is he? Why does he want to destroy Sonic and Eve?" Tails asks.
"I don't know. None of us have even seen him, and Sonic and Eve have never mentioned to us about a silver hedgehog," Sally says.
"I don't know, but we need to find them fast," Tails says.
Amy says, "Yeah. Finding Sonic and Eve are our top priority! We'll worry about that other hedgehog later!"
"There's more we need to do besides that," Tails says.
"He's right. We need to figure out why he wants to hurt them. Eve said that he called them the Iblis Triggers," Sally says.
"Iblis, but isn't Iblis gone so the trigger can't happen," Amy says.
"I don't know, but it seems that Iblis is connected with that silver hedgehog. I wonder if this Mephiles and the Solaris Project were involved," Sally says.
"Maybe so, but Sonic and Eve are still in trouble," Amy says.
"But if we can find out more about Solaris, it might be able to help us figure out why he wants to hurt them," Cosmo says.
"She's right. I'm sure what he's saying is a misunderstanding," Maria says.
"I don't think him attacking Sonic and Eve is a misunderstanding. He seems to be out to get them," Amy says.
Maria sadly says, "Sorry. I wish there's a way to save them."
"I know there is, but there are too many questions about this, and we need to find answers. And… we're going to need some help," Sally says.
Maria then has an idea, "I think I know who can help us."
"Who?" Cosmo asks.
Maria turns to Nicole who is still on the screen, "Um Nicole, do you think you can give an emergency call to G.U.N HQ."
"I believe I can do that," Nicole says.
"Maybe Shadow and the others can help us. We're in the United Federation so they're the only ones close enough to help us," Maria says.
"I have to agree with Maria, especially when Eve is in trouble," Cosmo says.
"But Shadow is away on official G.U.N business, and who knows when he'll be back," Sally says.
"It might be our only chance to save Sonic and Eve! Their lives are on the line, not to mention Shun and Jazz's lives as well! So Nicole, make that call!" Amy angrily says.
Sally and Nicole become weary to hear Amy like this.
"Alright, Nicole and I will make a call to Shadow and his team. Meanwhile, Amy, you'll be in charge of the search party with Sonia, Manic, Bunnie, and Antoine," Sally says.
"Got it," Amy says. Then runs off to begin to search.
Then Sally turns to Tails, "Tails, it will be best if we keep the Blue Typhoon hidden in case that other hedgehog comes back. That way, Sonic and Eve might be able come back in case Amy and the others don't find them."
"Right," Tails says.
Sally then turns to Rotor and Nicole, "Meanwhile, the rest of us will go to the city and figure out everyone about Iblis and possibly the Solaris Project."
Maria taps Sally's shoulder and the princess turns to face the young hedgehog who is deeply sad and worried.
"Do… do you think Eve will be okay?" Maria asks, about ready to cry.
"I'm sure she and Sonic will be fine. They both are able to take care of each other. In fact, that's what the Freedom Fighters do, we all take care of each other," Sally says.
Then kisses Maria on her cheek with a gentle smile, "We just need to do our part."
"Yeah," Maria says with a happy nod.
"Then let's hurry. Anyone we sit around, it's the longer Sonic and Eve are on the run from that other hedgehog," Tails says.
"Right," Sally says.
Then says in concern, "I do hope we find them."
In the deck, Amy and her rescue team are either riding in the Blue Tornado 2.0 or the X Tornado.
Amy says to her team, "Alright everyone, Sonic, Eve, Jazz, and Shun are being chased by a mysterious silver furred hedgehog with strange psychic abilities. At least that is what Sally described. Our main mission is to find Sonic and Eve before that strange hedgehog does."
"But what happens if we end up finding that silver hedgehog?" Antoine asks.
"Then try to ignore him, and if he finds Sonic and Eve, and attacks or shows any force towards us… we'll counter attack," Amy says.
"I do hope we find them before something bad happens," Bunnie says.
"Me too. Let's hurry," Manic says.
Amy, Sonia, and Manic take separate ships while Bunnie and Antoine ride on the Blue Tornado to begin their search.
In the tunnel of the river, Sonic and Eve with Shun in her arms, are able to find ground in the tunnel. Turns out, the tunnel has multiple caves and caverns. They both walk down one of the tunnels to see how dark it is. Soon, they find light and see a large cavern that has a small lake in the middle. There are also some trees with fruits and berries on it. On the side of the wall are glowing moss of a blue color. Sonic, Eve, and Jazz are astonished to see the place looking so pretty and has trees with long sleeves.
"This place is beautiful," Eve says.
"Yeah. And it seems like the perfect place for us to stay the night," Sonic says.
"Do you think we'll be safe from… him?" Eve asks.
"I hope so," Sonic says.
He then zips to the trees and quickly picks long sleeves from the trees and brings them to Eve.
"You set up camp and I'll get some us some snacks," Sonic says.
"Okay," Eve says.
Eve places Shun on the ground and begins to use it to set up their camp in the cave. In case it rains from the opening. Sonic then picks some fruits: Apples, bananas, and berries from the bushes. Eve is able to finish making the beds for themselves, including Shun and Jazz. Eve also makes some mashed fruits for Shun to eat. Afterwards they ate and relaxed. They plan to go to sleep.
Sonic yawns, "What a long night."
"I agree. I do hope we'll be able to find the others tomorrow," Eve says.
"Yeah. I can imagine Amy and Sally going nuts worrying about us, especially me," Sonic says.
"And Maria, Fiona, Nic, Cream, and Cheese. They must be worried too. I imagine everyone is," Eve says.
"Well, our best bet is to go back to the city and see if we can find some help. Maybe someone can give us an idea of this Iblis Trigger that Silver guy was talking about," Sonic says.
Suddenly, Shun begins to cry a little. Eve then rocks him in her arms, "There there, Shun. It's okay, sweetie."
Jazz soon begins to yawn and lays on the large leaf. Seeing Jazz tired and suspects Shun is too, Eve soon begins to sing a lullaby to help the two sleep.
Eve Hedgehog:
The big blue sky has turned to night
Close your eyes now, and sleep tight
Eve then places Shun on the other leaf and tucks him in.
Eve Hedgehog:
Little Shun and Sweet Jazz, too
Then tucks Jazz into bed as well, and the baby begins to calm down.
Eve Hedgehog:
Twinkling lights they shine for you
Eve then looks up in the sky to see the twinkling stars in the sky.
Eve Hedgehog:
Little darlings, it's time to sleep
Dream a dream that you can keep
Soon, Jazz and Shun are starting to get sleepy from the lullaby. Sonic is as well as he lets out a yawn.
Eve Hedgehog:
Little darlings, rest a while
Dream a dream that makes you smile
Then lay down against the leaf on the floor.
Eve Hedgehog:
Tomorrow we'll be on our way
We've travel through the long long day
Soon enough, fireflies begin to fly around the area. Eve looks up to see them with a calm and gentle smile.
Eve Hedgehog:
But you'll be safe here for tonight
Sleeping by the firefly light
One of them lands on Eve's hand and she looks at it with a smile. Then it flies away.
Eve Hedgehog:
Little darlings, time to sleep
Dream a dream that you can keep
Eve then lays down on the leaf and then uses another one to tuck herself in. Then places her hand on little Shun's stomach and gently rubs it.
Eve Hedgehog:
Little darlings, rest a while
Dream a dream that makes you smile
Eve soon falls asleep for the night. Sonic, Jazz, and Shun are already fast asleep for the night as well. Flying over then is Silver the Hedgehog, he searches for the two hedgehogs, but isn't able to see them. He also doesn't notice them sleeping in the cave that is well hidden.
Silver asks himself, "Where are they? They should be around here somewhere."
He sighs, "I was able to find them and now they have disappeared, but I can't just stop. The future depends on me destroying those two. Still…"
Silver remembers when he has seen them. Seeing the two hedgehogs happy and hanging out with their friends. And how Sonic and Eve are happily together as Eve rocks Shun in her arms.
"They don't look that dangerous. They seem like they were having fun… with those smiles on their faces, having wonderful food, and being around with many different Mobians. And that girl hedgehog seems to also have a child," Silver says to himself.
Then says, "It makes me wish… I could have their life. But still I need to save the future and that is by getting rid of them… is saving the future… Is it worth having their lives sacrificed?"
"Maybe I should find Blaze, she might be able to help me and I need to find Mephiles. Maybe he can explain to me more as to how and why those two are the triggers," Silver says, agreeing with his thoughts.
Silver then flies over the sky to see if he can find Blaze or Mephiles without knowing that Sonic and Eve are close and fast asleep for the night.
Somewhere far from Soleanna is G.U.N HQ. Shadow along with the rest of Team Dark: Rouge, Omega, Molly, and Leon are walking down the halls after completing their latest mission.
"Well that mission was tiring. I can't wait to get to bed after that," Rouge says.
"I have to agree. My arm is starting to become a bit stiff myself, but it sure brings back memories when we fought the Metarex," Leon says.
"I agree. Good and bad," Molly says, starting to show a sad smile.
"You miss them, don't you. Despite what they tried to do to you," Rouge asks.
"Yes. I know I should forget what happened, but it's still heartbreaking that they couldn't be here with us," Molly says.
"I know, it's still hard for what we've been through, but it was worth it that the Meterax are gone. Of course, Adrian gave up everything to help us," Leon says.
"Yes, but you didn't let his sacrifice go to waste and helped us in the end," Shadow says.
"You're right. At least now we can take it easy after we report to the Commander," Molly says.
Right on cue, Commander Tower walks towards them and says, "Hello Team Dark, I know you just returned from your mission, but another mission has just come in."
"Really? Now of all times. I just want to get to bed," Rouge says.
"Well this is an important matter," Commander Tower says.
Then turn to Shadow, "It regards your sister, Shadow."
"My sister? What happened?" Shadow asks.
Commander Tower answers, "I was informed that she and Sonic were attacked while they were on vacation in Soleanna by an unknown hedgehog and now gone missing. Along with her Chao friend, Jazz and baby Shun."
Stunned, Shadow asks with wide eyes, "They're missing?!"
Rouge and the others are stunned as well to hear that Eve along with Sonic, Jazz, and Shun's lives are in danger.
