The Solaris Saga Episode 5: Searching for Answers Wanting for Answers
Somewhere at the outskirts of the city, Silver and Blaze are exploring around to see the sights around Soleanna. Even though they have a mission to complete, Silver also likes to see what the present has to offer.
"I still can't believe how beautiful the city is. It looks very different than from my time," Silver says.
"I quite agree. This place is very different from my home world as well," Blaze says.
Silver turns to Blaze and asks, "Blaze, do you think you'll be able to find any more of the Sol Emeralds around here?"
"It's possible. I can't be quite certain until I sensed it close by along with the other Sol Emeralds. They can sense when one is near," Blaze says.
Suddenly, Blaze holds one of the Sol Emeralds that is a white one, "I can sense something close by. It's not the Sol Emerald, but something with incredible energy."
"Do you know where it's coming from?" Silver asks.
Blaze points forward, "It's straight ahead."
Silver and Blaze walks over to find a beach that is just outside of the city. They soon find a blue glowing gem on the ground. Silver walks over and picks it up.
"That's a Chaos Emerald," Blaze says.
Silver looks at the emerald and gazes upon it.
"It's said this gem can transform your thoughts into power. Collect seven, and a miracle's supposed to happen," Blaze says.
"It transforms your thoughts into power…" Silver says.
Blaze then turns to Silver, "Have your friend seen them before?"
"Yes. Eve told me that she has collected all of them before and with them her powers increased along with her brother. Keep it as a good luck charm," Blaze says.
Silver nods his head, and says, "Come on, we better go look for them."
Meanwhile on the other side of the city, using their super speed, Sonic and Eve are soon able to reach the city limits of Soleanna. They soon stop to see the city of Soleanna and are glad to reach civilization.
"We finally made it," Eve says.
"Yeah. It kind of took a little longer than I thought," Sonic says.
"Well, we had to go around trees, bushes, and other obstacles to get this far," Eve says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz says.
"I know Jazz, but at least we're able to make it to the city in one piece," Eve says.
"Let's go to the city's library and see if we can dig up anything," Sonic says.
Eve nods her head, "Right."
Sonic and Eve then begin to walk into the city to head to the library for some ideas on the Solaris Project.
Meanwhile, Sally and Nicole walk into the castle after being escorted inside the palace of Soleanna's ruler.
"So this is Soleanna Palace. It's very different from your castle, Sally," Nicole says.
"Yes. However, we got a job to do," Sally says.
"Correct," Nicole replies.
"I just hope we can get all the answers we need," Sally says.
Then the girls continue to walk down the halls to meet the princess of Soleanna, hopefully they can get some answers.
Back at the blue Typhoon, Nic, Fiona, Cosmo, and Galaxina wait at the ship for Sonic and Eve. At the same time, Amy and the others return with no luck at all.
"So you couldn't find Sonic and Eve anywhere?" Fiona asks, concern.
"Not a trace Fi. We couldn't find them anywhere," Bunnie says.
"Oui. We have searched high and low. Low and High, but we do not see them. What if the silver hedgehog found them," Antoine says, panicking.
Amy glares at Antoine, "Don't think like that! I know they wouldn't let themselves get caught by that hedgehog that easily!"
"Calm down Amy, we're not assuming anything. Maybe Sonic and Eve were heading to the city to find some answers," Sonia says.
"I hope they are. I'm worried about what might have happened to them," Galaxina says.
"Me too," Cosmo says, concerned.
Amy then walks away, "Come on guys, maybe we should go to the city and find them."
"But Sally wants at least some of us to stay here in case they come back," Nic says.
"Alright. Sonia, Manic, Cosmo, Fiona and I will go to the city. The rest of you stay here in case they come back," Amy says.
"Will do sugar," Bunnie says.
Amy and the others leave the ship and make their way to the city.
Cosmo then asks in concern, "Do you think we'll find them Amy?"
"I know we will… we just have to before they get into trouble… again," Amy says.
And so Amy and the others head to the city to go search for their friends,
Meanwhile in the city of Soleanna, Sonic and Eve are walking around the city for the library and to admire the city life. They've walked around so they can look for the library and relax from their last night adventure.
"The city is still looking very beautiful," Eve says.
"You can say that again. I wonder why we haven't run into the others yet?" Sonic replies.
"I don't know. Maybe they're trying to figure out more about that hedgehog or the Solaris Project… or maybe, they're in the forest looking for us," Eve says.
"Possibly. I'm sure we'll run into one of our friends in the city," Sonic says.
"I do hope so," Eve says.
Suddenly, Shun begins to move around as he waves his arms around and whimpers. Eve then begins to rock little Shun in her arms.
"There there, Shun. Shh shh shh," Eve says in a gentle tone and rocking Sun in her arms.
Sonic walks to Eve, "The little guy is getting a little fussy. Maybe one of your songs can help calm him down."
"Yeah. I think we can also use a break after all this running and walking," Eve says.
Eve then walks to the fountain close by and sits down as she rocks Shun. With that, Eve begins to sing Shun a song to calm him down.
Eve Hedgehog:
Yume wa kaze
(Dreams are the wind)
Hikari michibiku
(Guiding light)
Sora to kumo o koete yuku
(Crossing over the skies and clouds)
Anata no koe hibike
(Your voice echos)
Eve rocks little Shun in his arms and he begins to calm down. Sonic and Jazz sit down to listen to Eve sing. Little Shun begins to yawn a little to hear the song.
Eve Hedgehog:
Shiawase to
(Happiness)
Iya na omoide
(And unpleasant memories)
Eve gently rocks Shun as she begins to dance to the song she is signing.
Eve Hedgehog:
Yasashii ima ga toozakaru
(This gentle moment goes far away)
Shizuka na yoru tsuzuke
(This quiet night continues)
Shun continues to yawn and is starting to get very sleepy.
Eve Hedgehog:
Kono basho ni nokosu
(Even the footprints)
Meanwhile, Silver and Blaze are walking around town, when the sound of Eve's signing catches Silver's attention.
Silver asks, "What's that?"
"It sounds like someone singing and the voice is very familiar." Blaze says.
Blaze and Silver then head off to find the source of the voice.
Eve Hedgehog:
Ashiato sae
(That I left here)
Silver and Blaze continue to walk down the street and when they turn to the corner, they see the blue hedgehog and the black and red hedgehog, known as Sonic and Eve.
Eve Hedgehog:
Kiekakete yugamu
(Begin to disappear and become distorted)
"There they are. We better take care of this while we have the chance," Silver says.
Blaze then places his hand in front of Silver, "Wait, it seems that they're busy. Better wait until they're finished."
Silver turns his head towards the hedgehog to see her singing to the baby. He nods his head to the idea and decides to wait.
Eve Hedgehog:
Kizuato no you
(Like a scar)
At the same time, Eve continues to dance gently as she rocks the baby in her arms and he begins to fall asleep.
Eve Hedgehog:
Yume no naka
(The heart that was born)
Umareta kokoro
(Inside of a dream)
Garasu mado ga
(The glass window)
Kimi miteru
(Sees you)
Shun no uchi ni komete
(Gather it all while it's still ripe)
Eve then leans to Shun and gives him a gentle kiss.
Eve Hedgehog:
Sugaru kimochi sutete
(Throw away the urge to hang on)
Subete omoi tsunage
(Connect all feelings)
Finally, Shun has fallen asleep in Eve's arms and the hedgehog holds a gentle smile on her face. Seeing her like this makes Silver shocked. He has to wonder why would someone like her be responsible for what happened to his time period. He's in more turmoil in his thoughts whether to destroy them or not. He decides that he must get some answers
Just reaching Soleanna after their search, Shadow, Molly, and Omega aren't able to find the two hedgehogs. However, Shadow has a Chaos Emerald in his hand.
"Finding Sonic and Eve is going to be harder than I thought," Molly says.
"With those two, they can never be in one place for too long," Shadow says.
Then holds the emerald, "And yet, we were able to find the Chaos Emerald in the woods."
"Do you think we should go back to the city? They might be there," Molly says.
Omega says, "It does seem possible."
"Then let's head over there. We need to find them before that silver hedgehog does," Shadow says.
With that, Shadow and his comrades begin to make their way to the city. Unknown to them, Mephiles is standing on the tree tops to see them.
"Shadow the Hedgehog. So you're looking for that black hedgehog as well. By the time you find her, your sister will never be the same," Mephiles says.
Then disappears to see what his plan will lay out.
Back at the city, Shun is finally asleep as Eve shows a sweet smile on her face. Jazz smiles with glee as well.
Sonic pets Shun on the head, "Cute little guy. Still surprising that you're raising a baby."
"You do remember that I helped Rosie with the little ones in Knothole right," Eve says.
"Good point," Sonic says.
Suddenly, Sonic notices something and picks Eve in her arms as he dodges a psychic attack. Sonic lands on the ground and places Eve on her feet. They both turn their heads to see the silver hedgehog again.
"... You again," Sonic says, stunned.
"This time there will be no more interruptions," Silver says, determined.
Then unleashes his power at the two hedgehogs. Sonic and Eve quickly dodge the attack in the nick of time.
Sonic turns to Eve, "Eve, run!"
"But Sonic, I can't leave you to fight him alone," Eve says.
"But Eve, you still have Jazz and Shun. At least while I take care of this guy, you can still get away and you'll all be safe," Sonic says.
Eve notices, "Sonic, look out!"
Sonic turns his head and is dodging the attacks. Eve also dodges the attacks and uses her Chaos bubble to protect herself and Sonic.
"It's time to end this!" Silver says.
Sonic turns to Silver, "My sister and I never did anything to hurt you. Why are you after us?"
"Like I said Iblis Trigger, you and your sister must be destroyed," Silver says.
"But that's impossible. According to legend, the Iblis died out a long time ago. The Flames of Disaster shouldn't even happen. Even so, the Flames of Disaster is a prophecy," Eve says.
"You expect me to believe that?" Silver questions. And yet, feels confused.
"Not really, but that's what Eve read the last time she came here," Sonic says.
"Even so, as long as you two are still around, the future will never chance," Silver says.
"The future?" Sonic and Eve say, confused.
Confused, Eve asks, "What in the world are you talking about?"
Silver then uses a strong psychic attack and dissolves Eve's Chaos Bubble. Sonic then grabs Eve and the two hedgehogs make a run for it. Silver soon sees the two hedgehogs fleeing the scene.
"Get back here!" Silver shouts.
Then flies after the two hedgehogs. At the same time, Sonic and Eve continue to run as fast as they can.
Eve turns her head to see Silver is using his powers to catch up with them from the air.
"He's still after us," Eve panics.
"We need to find a way to lose him," Sonic says.
Eve then says, "It looks like we'll have to split up."
"Yeah. I'll keep the silver hedgehog with the weird hairstyle while you go find the others," Sonic says.
"Okay," Eve says.
Sonic and Eve soon see a fork in the road.
"I'll go left and you go right," Sonic says.
Eve nods her head, "Right."
Sonic and Eve then hurry off and split up in different directions. Silver who is still flying over them, notices them splitting up and heading off in different directions. Silver turns his head to see Blaze has caught up with him and is on the rooftop.
"Alright. Blaze, you go talk to Eve while I keep this Sonic character distracted," Silver says.
"Understood. Remember, if we want to understand what is going on, we can't destroy them," Blaze says.
"Yes, but something strange is going on. She said that it died out so the Trigger thing shouldn't exist," Silver says.
"That is strange. I suppose I could ask her and see what this is about," Blaze says.
"Yeah. I better go find Sonic before I lose him. Eve went down right and Sonic head down left. I'll meet you later," Silver says.
Silver and Blaze then split up as they take to the sky to find the hedgehogs they're looking for.
Somewhere in the library, Tails, Rotor, and the others are still searching through the books for a clue on the Solaris Project, or anything else about the Flames of Disaster.
Leon finishes reading one of the books and puts it down.
Rouge yawns, "We've been doing this for a long time now."
"We've only been here for a half hour, Rouge," Maria replies.
"Exactly, I'm about ready to fall asleep," Rouge says.
"I'm sure we'll find something. There doesn't seem to be much about the Solaris Project at all," Tails says.
"It's strange that we're having trouble finding something about the Solaris Project or the Flames of Disaster," Rotor says.
"I guess we have to keep looking," Leon says.
"I hope the others are having better luck than us," Tails says, and brings out another book to continue reading.
Feeling tired in the city, Eve decides to sit down as they take deep breaths in exhaustion. She continues to rock little Shun in her arms as Jazz sits down as she is feeling tired and her wings aren't able to flap any more.
Eve sits down and pets Jazz on the head, "Oh Jazz, you must be so tired."
"Chao Chao," Jazz replies.
"Don't worry girl, we'll get you something to drink and then we'll see if we can find Sonic," Eve says.
"Chao," Jazz says, feeling tired.
Eve then picks up Jazz and places her on her head.
"There. You just rest there and we can get going once we've rested," Eve says.
"Eve," A voice says.
"Huh?" Eve says confused.
Eve turns her head to the left and is surprised to see the purple feline known as Blaze the Cat, walking towards her.
"Eve. It has been a while since I last saw you," Blaze says.
Eve becomes surprised to see her, "Blaze."
Eve is stunned to see Blaze the cat is here in Soleanna of all places.
Eve stands up and walks to Eve with a smile, "Blaze, it's great to see you. What are you doing here? And how is the search for the Sol Emeralds."
"The search has been a bit troublesome. I have been able to recover two of the Sol Emeralds, but still need to search for the others," Blaze says.
"I see. Did you sense one here too?" Eve replies.
"I'm afraid the Sol Emeralds didn't bring me here, it actually involves you and your brother, Sonic," Blaze says.
"Me and my brother?" Eve asks.
"Yes. I do apologize if you have been dealing with um, problems, but Silver meant well and I'm sure once you talk to him as well…" Blaze says.
But Eve interupts her, "Wait a minute… Silver? You mean the silver gray fur hedgehog with the large quills?"
"That's him," Blaze answers.
"Let me guess, you are already aware that he attacked me and my brother?" Eve questions.
"I'm afraid so. But you must understand, Silver is well, doing this for a reason since his time period depends on what Mephiles told him, and…" Blaze says.
Eve exclaims, "Wait a minute! Did you say Mephiles?! Does he happen to look a little like me, but male has pale blue color stripes and green eyes?!
"Um yes… why?" Blaze asks.
Eve takes a deep breath and says, "Alright, I think you and I need to have a little talk about. For one, how do you know Mephiles."
"Yes. That is the reason why I came to find you. And judging by your expression, it is assumed that you also know Mephiles. I like to hear your explanation," Blaze says.
Eve nods her head, "Sounds good. As long as you tell us what's going on and why your friend has been trying to attack us."
Eve and Blaze soon begin to discuss the situation. Unknown to them, Mephiles is secretly watching them from the rooftop.
Meanwhile, Sonic and Silver continue to fight against one another. Sonic uses his spin dash to bounce off the wall. Silver continues to fly around and tries to blast Sonic.
Silver angrily says, "Hold still!"
"Sorry, but this hedgehog isn't the type to stay still in one place," Sonic says.
"Well, I think you should for a minute," Silver says.
He is then able to use his power to trap Sonic in a stand still. Silver places Sonic on the ground and still has him trapped in his power.
Sonic struggles, "Let me go. Why are you trying to hurt me and my sister?"
"I'll be the one asking the questions. Whatever you did, it ended up putting the future in jeopardy," Silver says.
"Wha-what are you talking about?" Sonic asks.
Suddenly, someone lands in front of Silver, causing him to cancel his hold on Sonic, who has fallen on his knees.
Silver says in surprise, "Who?"
Silver looks to see a male black and red color hedgehog
Stunned to see his appearance, Silver exclaims, "Mephiles! Why are you getting in my way?"
Shadow stands up and says, "I'm Shadow. Shadow the Hedgehog."
Shadow turns his head to see Sonic and says, "Sonic, where is Eve?"
"We had to separate to keep the Psychic Hedgehog from getting both of us," Sonic says.
Silver turns to the silver hedgehog, "Then I suggest you go find her while I take care of him."
Sonic nods his head and gives Shadow a thumbs up. Then hurries off to find Eve and the others. Silver then begins to raise his fist and begins to charge at Shadow.
Shadow holds out the green emerald and shouts, "Chaos Control!"
The power of the emerald slows Silver down, allowing Shadow to dodge Silver's attack. Then Shadow performs a roundhouse kick to him from behind, knocking him down. Silver looks at him and gets up, all worn out and paralyzed.
"You…" Shadow says, stunned.
"Don't bother. With a Chaos Emerald's power, I control time and space. You can't break free," Shadow says, holding the emerald.
Frustrated, Silver says, I won't give up! It all depends on me! Can't lose. Not when I'm so close!
He then holds the blue Chaos Emerald he has found recently. They both soon charge at each other as they hold out their emerald.
They both shout at the same time, "Chaos… Control!"
"They both then collide their wrist against each other as the emeralds glow. Soon, a reaction comes from the emeralds and a strange space-time rift portal opens between them.
"You... induced Chaos Control," Shadow says, surprised by Silver's abilities.
Silver says in frustration, "I won't let anyone get in my way! I'll change the past and save the world."
Shadow shakes his head in disappointment, "I don't think Mephiles isn't trying to help you create a better future... In fact, I think he's trying to eliminate the past."
"What? What are you talking about?" Silver asks, confused.
Shadow walks to Silver and says, "To discover what happened, it seems we must see what took place centuries ago, when the accident occured with the Solaris Project."
Silver stares at Shadow wondering what he means.
"Follow me if you want the truth," Shadow adds, and then jumps into the portal.
Silver looks at the portal, unsure whether to follow Shadow or not. However, if this will tell him the truth of Mephiles and the Iblis Triggers, it's a chance he will need to take. Silver then jumps into the portal and it closes behind them.
