The Solaris Saga Episode 6: Solaris' Past
In Soleanna Palace, Princess Sally and Nicole are able to see Princess Elise and they explain to her the whole story and what they're asking of her.
"The Solaris Project huh. Yes. I shared my part of what happened in the Solaris Project. In fact, my ancestor Oriana and her older brother were there when it happened. In fact, they almost lost their lives that day," Elise says.
"Really?" Sally asks.
"Yes. However, two of the scientists and two special helpers were able to seal Mephiles in the Scepter of Darkness and at the same time, The Flames of Disaster died out. However, there was a prophecy that said that one day the Flames of Disaster will reawaken and Solaris will bring out his wrath to destroy us all," Elise says.
"That sounds like the Solaris Project became very dangerous," Sally says.
"Indeed. At first, it was supposed to allow us to travel through time. That way, we are able to correct past mistakes and make sure there is peace in our world," Elise says.
Nicole says in concern, "I have a feeling it didn't turn out well."
"No. It didn't," Elise says.
Sally asks, "Do you think you can tell us everything you know about the Solaris Project and what happened during the incident."
"Yes. I shall do the best as I can, anything to help your friends," Elise says.
Sally and Nicole nod their heads and Elise begins to explain to them what has happened during the accident.
Meanwhile, in an unknown hall, the portal opens and Shadow and Silver falls through it. They turn their heads to see the portal close soon after.
Silver looks around and asks, "Where are we?"
"We must be in the past. And hopefully, we've reached where the incident happened," Shadow says.
"I hope we can get some answers," Silver says.
Down the hall and in a secret lab, human scientists wearing white clothes are using their technology to control a powerful yellow flame inside a container. They have trouble controlling it.
One of the scientists says, "An electromagnetic pulse has just been generated! Injecting a decompression agent! No, the level's not dropping!"
Soon, the scientists are having trouble controlling the strange flame and it's starting to go out of control. The scientists try as they might, but are unable to control it for any longer.
Another scientist begins to panic, "A spatial meltdown is inevitable! My Lord, it's too late! We've got to take shelter!"
Suddenly, a young man wearing noble clothes slams his fist on the machine and shouts, "Why, Solaris? Why do you refuse to listen to my voice?"
Just then, a young girl's voice calls out, "Big brother!"
The young man turns his head in surprise, "Oriana!"
The girl arriving is wearing a pink dress and slip on shoes and she is very similar to Princess Elise
Suddenly, he hears a noise and turns his head to see the glass on the container cracking. He turns his head to see what is happening and quickly shields the young girl as the machine explodes. In the hall, Shadow and Silver hear the sound and hurry over.
When they reach the lab, they see the windows are completely shattered and they enter through there on the grounds of the lab. Shadow quickly rushes to the young man, holding the little sister in his arms. Silver sees one of the scientists who is unconscious.
Silver turns his head to the center of the room to notice a strange glow.
He asks, "Is that!?"
Silver sees a bright ball of light. Suddenly, the light fades out into a dwarf and splits up, dripping black blob bits into the water. Then the flames begin to grow.
Silver soon realizes, "That flame... It's Iblis!"
Seeing the black stuff, Shadow says, "And the black shadow is the original Mephiles."
"That's Mephiles!?" Silver says, completely stunned.
Suddenly, the black ooze and the flames begin to travel away towards the two siblings and phase through their chests.
Stunned, Silver asks "Wha-what is happening?"
Shadow tries to act, but soon, the two beings manage to pull out a glowing white ball out of the humans' body.
"What did that thing just…" Shadow begins to question.
Silver hurries to the two and touches them. To his shock, they begin to feel cold. Upon closer inspection, he is left with a gasped expression.
"I… I don't believe it…" Silver says stunned.
Then adds, "They're dead!"
Suddenly, Silver and Shadow see the two beings are escaping with the glowing objects.
"They're escaping!" Silver says.
"We'll have to split up. I'll pursue Mephiles," Shadow says.
"OK. Then leave Iblis to me!" Silver says.
Silver soon hears off to find Iblis, while Shadow prepares to head off to find Mephiles.
Suddenly, someone calls out, "Wait…"
Shadow stops and turns his head to two of the scientists who are able to escape the explosion untouched. To Shadow's surprise, one of the scientists is holding the Scepter of Darkness, the one he and Eve have seen a while ago.
"My name is Skyler," The blonde scientist says.
Then the red haired scientist says, "And I'm Anthony. We know how we can stop the black ooze."
Skyler holds the scepter, "This scepter we made is made of a powerful substance, we should be able to seal the black ooze in this."
"Hurry!" Silver shouts.
Shadow nods his head and takes the scepter. The scientist, Skyler also follows the two hedgehogs. Shadow and Skyler hurry to capture Mephiles former form. Silver hurries after Iblis. At the same time, another scientist hurries to the two that have died.
Back in the present, are leaving the library after searching through the many books about the Solaris Project. They do feel tired searching through the books.
Leon sighs, "After all that searching and we haven't found much of anything."
"I know what you mean. I feel like my neck is going to get a crick," Rouge says, rubbing her neck.
"Hey guys," Someone calls out.
The group turns their heads to see Amy and the others walking toward them. Molly and Omega are with them as well.
"Hey guys, how's the search go?" Rotor asks.
"Not so much. We couldn't find Sonic and Eve anywhere," Amy says.
"We didn't find anything either," Maria says.
"Shadow went on ahead to find them, but we have no clue where we went," Molly says.
"Let's go find them. They might be in the city," Cosmo says.
"Then let's go find them. I'm not going to give up until we find Sonic," Amy says, and walks off.
"Don't forget about Eve," Manic says.
"Yeah. Shun and Jazz are with them as well," Sonia says.
"Right," Amy replies.
Amy and the others begin to head off to find Sonic and Eve, and maybe find Shadow while searching.
Back in the past, Shadow and Skyler are able to catch up with the black ooze. The ooze continues to travel around the area as there is nowhere else to go.
Shadow holds out his Chaos Emerald and shouts, "Chaos Control!"
With the power of the Chaos Emerald, the monster is forced into a half and begins to growl in anger. Skyler then holds out the staff and with the power of the Chaos Emerald, pulls the black ooze inside. The ooze continues to scream in agony as it is being pulled inside the scepter. In a short amount of time, the dark ooze is sealed inside the Scepter of Darkness.
Skyler sighs, "It's done."
Shadow then notices the white orb that the ooze has obtained is now on the ground and picks it up.
Meanwhile, Silver and Anthony continue to chase the Iblis flame until it is cornered to the wall. Silver is able to use his psychokinesis to stop the Iblis Trigger. Then with his powers, Silver is able to separate the white orb from the Iblis Flame.
Silver then notices, "What is happening?"
The flames begin to die out as the flames decrease until it fades into smoke.
"The flame… It… It died out," Silver says, stunned.
"The Duke and I feared that the Solaris Project would die out. That is why we worked so hard to try to keep it revived. Instead, we ended up awakening a possible disaster," Anthony says.
"I see. So that's what that girl meant," Silver thinks.
Silver looks at an orb that is in his hand, "This is one of the orbs Iblis took from that young girl."
"I was afraid of this. The ooze and the flames have taken the young Duke and his sister's souls," Anthony says.
"Their souls. Then… how… how can we save them?" Silver asks.
"If we can return them to the Duke and Dutchess, then their lives will be saved," Anthony says.
"Then let's hurry," Silver says.
Then hurry to find the royal siblings so their lives can be saved.
Time has gone by and Shadow along with Skyler are outside with the Scepter. They turn their heads to see Silver and Anthony with the two siblings in their arms. Then they place them both on the ground.
Silver turns to Shadow, "Did you find another orb like this?" And shows the orb.
Shadow nods his head and presents it to Silver.
"That is the Duke and Duchess' souls. They need to be returned in order to revive them," Silver says.
Shadow and Silver presents the orbs to the two bodies. Then the orbs begin to glow and instantly, they fly back into the bodies. Soon, the two siblings begin to breath, but remain unconscious.
"They're going to be fine. It will be best to have them back to the palace," Skyler says.
Anthony asks, "So is it done?"
"Ye. And you?" Skyler replies.
"Iblis died out and we were able to save the soul. It is as it's meant to be," Anthony says.
Silver turns to Shadow, "Are you sure leaving it here is best?"
"Yes, I already know what becomes of it in the future…" Shadow says.
Then brings out the emerald, "It's time to return."
"Yes... Of course…" Silver says.
Both hedgehogs have each emerald in hand, approach each other, and hold them aloft.
Then they shout, "Chaos Control!"
The portal opens and they both quickly hurry through the portal and it closes behind them, leaving the two scientists and the royal siblings behind. They both feel that this part is best being kept to themselves.
In the present, in Soleanna's palace. Princess Elise finishes explaining to Sally and Nicole about what happened.
"And so, after Mephiles was sealed and my ancestors' souls were returned, the Scepter of Darkness was sealed far out of the city while the old palace's lab shut down and sealed away. The castle is also abandoned and most records of what really happened has been erased from history. However, it has seemed that Mephiles is now free," Elise says.
"Yes. And Shadow and Eve along with G.U.N haven't seen him since and has taken Shadow's form," Sally says.
"Since what happened with the silver hedgehog attacking Sonic and Eve, we think there might be a connection with the Solaris Project," Nicole says.
Then Sally asks, "It worries me about what he could be up to."
"I fear what he might be up to after your explanation. However, if I have to guess, it's possible that Mephiles wants to become whole again," Elise says.
"What do you mean by 'whole'?" Sally asks.
"Well, Mephiles and Iblis were once Solaris. However, with Iblis gone, I don't see how it could be possible," Elise says.
"I'm concerned about what Mephiles wants, especially with placing Sonic and Eve in terrible danger," Sally says.
"I think we should hurry and find them," Nicole says.
"You're right. I hate to think of what Mephiles might do for them if he catches them," Sally says.
The two girls thank the princess and hurry off to find Sonic and Eve.
In the streets of Soleanna, Silver and Shadow comes through the portal again as it closes behind them. Soon, they are back in Shadow's time period.
Silver sighs and says, "I… I understand now. The Iblis Triggers weren't Sonic and Eve the Hedgehogs."
"Glad you see you finally understand, considering you attacked my younger sister," Shadow says.
"Your sister? I thought she was Sonic's," Silver says, confused.
Shadow says, "Adopted sister. She is my sister by blood."
"Um… right. But still, why would Mephiles make up a story about Sonic and Eve being the Iblis Triggers, if he knew Iblis had died out, why go through all that trouble," Silver replies.
Shadow then wonders, "And why would he want you to attack them to begin with. That is what puzzles me."
"Do you think Mephiles' plan has something to do with Iblis? If so, then why have me attacked Sonic and Eve, and then have them separated?" Silver replies.
"Whatever it is, we need to find Sonic and Eve before anything else happens," Shadow says.
Suddenly, someone shouts, "Shadow!"
Shadow and Silver turn their heads to see Sally with Nicole and notice Tails, and the others are with them. They soon stop as they take a small breather.
"It's a good thing we found you. We found out about what happened during that incident with the Solaris Project," Sally says.
Silver steps forward, "So did we. I see now that Mephiles has lied to me in order to get to your friends. I… I apologize for what I put your friends through the other day."
Sally and the other Freedom Fighters look at each other and then at Silver. They can see in Silver eyes that he is remorseful for his actions.
"I'm glad we got all that straightened out, now we just need to figure out where Sonic and Eve are," Rouge says.
Silver says, "They're probably with Blaze by now."
"Blaze? You mean Eve's cat friend?" Bunnie asks.
"That's her," Silver says.
"We better go find them before anything else happens," Amy says.
Silver then says, "Follow me, I think I know where they went."
Silver uses his powers to take to the sky while Shadow speeds after him. Sally and the others begin to follow them to find their friends.
Somewhere in Soleanna, Blaze has finished explaining to Sonic and Eve about what happened and how they encounter Mephiles.
"He said that?!" Sonic asks, stunned.
"Yes. He told us that both of you were the Ivlis Triggers and that you both must be destroyed to save the future," Blaze says.
"Why would Mephiles make up a story about Sonic and me basically cause the end of the world?" Eve asks.
"That is what I like to know. I don't know what he is planning, but we need to find him and stop whatever he is planning," Blaze says.
Sonic and Eve nod their heads in reply.
Suddenly, a bright purple glow appeared in front of them and took them by surprise. The three friends shield their eyes to see the blinding light. Unknown to the group, Mephiles is standing behind them from a short distance holding the purple Chaos Emerald that is now tainted black. Eve slowly turns around to see the creature and becomes shocked.
She exclaims, "Mephiles!"
Sonic and Blaze quickly turn behind them to see Mephiles. With his power, Mephiles creates a powerful beam of light and aims towards the hedgehog.
"No!" Sonic screams and pushes Eve out of the way.
Sadly, the beam slams through his chest. Eve becomes stunned to see what is happening. Mephiles then pulls his hand back as the beam disappears and a white orb is pulled out of Sonic's chest and into Mephiles' hand. Soon, Sonic collapses on the ground. Eve stumbles a bit as she sees her brother fall to the ground.
"Sonic!" Eve panics.
Eve kneels down still having Shun in her arms. She shakes him, "Sonic… Sonic!"
Blaze glares at Mephile, "What did you do?!"
"Fulfilling my true objective," Mephiles answers.
Blaze growls as she glares at him. Then hear the distress in Eve's voice, "Sonic…"
Blaze turns her head to see Eve places Shun on the ground and Jazz lands on the ground to watch him.
"Sonic… Sonic, please…" Eve says, continues to shake him.
Eve turns Sonic over to see his eyes shut, and his hand falls to the ground.
"Sonic, please wake up. Please Sonic, open your eyes!" Eve says, fearing the worst.
Suddenly, Mephiles says, "Do not worry my dear, you'll be joining your brother soon enough, but not the way you expect."
"Wha-?" Eve says, confused as tears begin to come down her face.
Before Eve can reach, Mephile uses his power to create a shadow hand and aims it to Eve. The hand moves so fast that Eve can't reach in time and grabs a hold of Eve as it lifts her into the air.
"Eve!" Blaze exclaims.
Then flies up to reach her, but a forcefield prevents her from doing so. Blaze lands on the ground as Silver and Shadow arrives.
"Blaze!" Silver calls out.
Blaze turns her head to see the two hedgehogs hurrying towards them.
"What's going on?" Shadow demands.
"I don't know, but Mephiles is doing something to Eve and already did something to Sonic," Blaze says.
"What?!" Silver exclaims.
Just then, Mephiles sends a powerful energy at Eve as she screams in agony. Then feels something being pulled out of her.
Shadow rushes over, "No Eve!"
Mephiles continues to pull at Eve's chest and finally pulls the white orb out of Eve's body.
Suddenly, on Angel Island, Knuckles senses something off.
He grows concerned and mutters, "E-Eve…"
Soon enough, Eve's eyes become hazy as they close shut. Then begins to fall straight to the ground.
"Eve!" Blaze cries out.
Shadow and Blaze try to reach Eve, but Mephile uses his powers to swat them away. Then flies up and carries Eve in her arms. Shadow and Blaze crash to the ground and groan as they begin to get up.
Suddenly, someone calls out, "Shadow!"
Silver, who is now holding Shun, turns his head to see Sally, the rest of the Freedom Fighters, and Team Dark hurrying over to the scene.
Fiona asks, "What is that?"
"I think that's Mephiles," Molly says.
Mephiles lands on the ground and holds the two orbs in one hand and has Eve in his other arm. The teams are stunned to see him having Eve as the fiend maniacally laughs in triumph.
Mephiles then announces, "At last, I have everything I need. With the two souls and this young girl, I will be able to create a new Iblis and soon, we shall become Solaris once more!"
Then continues to laugh evilly as everyone is stunned at what Mephiles says. Then he disappears, taking Eve with her, leaving everyone all kinds of negative emotions.
Suddenly, Amy's voice speaks in distress, "Sonic… Sonic…"
Sonia, Manic, and Sally and Tails gather around to see Sonic.
"Sonic, Sonic wake up," Tails calls out.
Sally places her hand on Sonic's shoulder, "Sonic, please open your eyes! Wake up! Sonic!"
Suddenly, Sally notices something that makes her go pale, "He's… he's not breathing…"
