The Solaris Saga Episode 8: World Saved, Solaris Undone
Somewhere in an unknown abyss, a glowing white light shines over a dark purple sky. Down below, it shows some ruins. On the grounds of the ruins are the Freedom Fighters, Team Dark, and Blaze and Silver notice the strange place they're in as well.
Tails looks around and asks, "What is this?"
"Where are we? What's going on?" Cosmo adds.
"Guys?" Knuckles calls out.
The Freedom Fighters and the others turn to see Knuckles and the Chaotix walking around looking just as confused as they are.
"Guys do you know what's going on?" Charmy asks.
"Yeah. Some strange light came out in the sky," Victor asks.
"We're not sure about it ourselves," Sally says.
Silver walks over as he says, "The Chaos Emeralds have disappeared."
"I haven't the foggiest idea what we're doing here of all places," Blaze says.
Julie-Su asks, "Who are you guys?"
"Guys, this is Silver and Blaze. They actually came to the future because of what happened with this place," Sally says.
"I'm confused," Saffron says.
"I think it safe to say that we're all confused. This place is just as confusing," Mighty says.
Ray nervously says, "Th-th-this p-p-place i-is s-s-scary."
Suddenly, Rouge says, "It's all because of Solaris."
"And it appears that we were all caught by a spatial distortion," Shadow says.
"And I'm betting that's it up there," Molly says, looking above.
Everyone else looks up to see the blinding white light above.
"What is that thing?" Cream asks.
"Chao Choa," Cheese nervously says.
"I don't know, but I don't like the look of this," Fiona says.
"Iblis has been revived and Solaris has been reborn," Sally sadly says.
Then turns her head as she says,"Due to Mephiles' manipulation."
Everyone else turns to where Sally is looking. To the Chaotix's shock, they see Sonic lying unconscious as Amy sits on her knees and holds Sonic's upper body while the rest is laying on the ground.
"Sonic?" Saffron replies, confused and flies to him.
Everyone else hurries over to them.
"Wha-what happened?" Julie-Su asks.
"It's Mephiles. That's who," Nic says.
"Mephiles? You mean that creep that Shadow and Eve told us about that was broken out of the Scepter of Darkness?" Knuckles asks.
Sally sadly nods her head, "That's the one. He did this to Sonic. He… he…"
Sally becomes upset and turns her head away as tears begin to fall from her face. Seeing the expression, the Chaotix comes to realize the truth.
"No… you mean he's…" Espio asks, shocked.
"Sonic!" Knuckles shouts, upset.
Amy sadly nods her head and kneels her head towards Sonic as she cries.
Mighty looks around and asks, "Wha-what about… Eve?"
Shadow simply shakes his head, but also has deep sadness in his eyes. Then looks up to see the glowing white light of Solaris.
Rouge says, "Mephiles basically played us all for fools. He stole Sonic and Eve's soul, and then used Eve's body to create a new Iblis. And with that… Mephiles fuse with Eve and now…"
"Eve has become part of Solaris," Leon adds.
"And used Blaze and me to get Sonic and Eve away from the others," Silver says.
"Yes. He wanted us to get rid of Sonic and Eve, but plans on getting them away from the others and taking their souls for himself and using Eve's body as Iblis's vessel" Blaze says.
Suddenly, the white light begins to glow and flicker on and cause the ground under their feet to shake.
Silver panics, "Solaris!"
"This creature will consume all existing timelines and time itself will collapse and disappear into nothingness," Leon says.
"The instability of time caused this time-space rift," Shadow says.
Then Leon says, "It might not remain for any longer."
"If what you're saying is true, then we've no time to waste. We've got to defeat it now!" Knuckles says.
"I don't think it's simple. It's a transcendent life form that exists in the past, present, and future. Defeating it here, now, might not do anything," Leon says.
"And that means Eve will be trapped as Solaris… for all of time…" Cosmo worriedly says.
Suddenly, Silver says, "No. I won't give up. There had to be a way."
Then turns to Leon, "If you say it exists in the past, present, and future, I'll destroy them all at once."
"Certainly, it might be possible. If Sonic and Eve were still alive," Shadow says.
Despite having a serious face, Shadow actually has a verge of tears in his eyes. Maria also looks up in the sky to know that Eve is up there.
Maria mutters as tears fall down her face, "Eve."
Suddenly, Maria senses something and looks around. She doesn't know what it is, but… it feels familiar.
She turns around and softly says, "Eve."
Maria begins to walk away from the group. Jazz then begins to follow.
Silver turns to see Maria and Jazz and asks, "What's the matter?"
"Maria?" Shadow asks, turning towards her.
Maria answers, "I… I think I felt Eve's presence… I don't know, but I can feel that she's still there…"
"How can you tell?" Silver asks.
Shadow looks around and begins to feel the presence as well, "She's right. I… I can feel Eve is still around. A part of her that is still living."
Suddenly, a light red light flies down and lands in front of them. Then travels to Sonic. Amy looks up to see the red light and feels something and Sally begins to feel it too. Then the wind begins to glow blue.
"S-Sonic?" Amy asks.
Sally says, "I feel Sonic presences… in the wind."
Suddenly a glowing speck of blue wind travels around the red orb light. They both move around like they're running along each other.
"If that's true, then there might still be a way to save them and stop Solaris," Tails says.
"But how?" Galaxina asks
Soon, both the blue wind and the red light begins to travel down to the ruins. Maria, Shadow, and Sally quickly follow. Silver and Blaze follow after them. Soon, the blue wind and the red light stop and hover over something. Shadow, Sally, and the others hurry over and become surprised at the familiar glowing purple gem.
Maria picks it up, "A Chaos Emerald."
Suddenly, Silver has an idea, "Of course! The Chaos Emeralds might be our answer. If we use the Power of the Chaos Emerald to call Sonic back."
"The Power of the Chaos Emeralds might be just enough to bring Sonic back to life," Shadow says.
"And if this Chaos Emerald here, then the rest must be around here," Sally says.
Suddenly, the blue wind and the red light begins to travel back to where the others and head past them.
Sally hurries over and says, "Follow those lights. They'll lead us to the Chaos Emeralds."
Soon, the wind and the red light each split into three and head off in different directions.
"The Emeralds must be in different locations, we'll get them faster if they split up," Silver says.
"Right, I'll stay with Amy, Cosmo, Galaxina, Maria, Cream, and Cheese and Jazz. The rest of you need to split up and follow the lights to find the Chaos Emerald.
Everyone agrees to the idea and split up.
Tails, Bunnie, and Antoine along with Rotor follow the red light as they look around the ruined buildings and the area. The red light flies up high off a tall building. Bunnie uses her jets to fly in the air to find the Red Chaos Emerald on top of the building.
Molly, Leon, and Omega are following the blue wind as they soar over lava, and fallen stones. They also blast any creature that comes at them. They soon are able to find the White Chaos Emerald on one of the cliffs over the lava. Molly picks it up and is ready to head back.
Knuckles and the Chaotix follow a different red light as they travel over grassy areas and large trees. Mighty and the Chaotix attack the monsters that come at them. Knuckle also uses his spiked knuckles to punch them out of the way. Charmy flies over and soon finds a Green Chaos Emerald.
Silver and Blaze fly across a sandy desert area that is also full of monsters. They both use their attacks to defeat the monsters as they follow the blue wind to find the Chaos Emerald. The two continue to dodge and defeat any monster that comes in their direction. Blaze and Silver reach the top of the Pillar to find a Yellow Chaos Emerald.
Flying over the blue water, Rouge flies over with Shadow as they search around the Emerald. So far, they see high rock pillars and not much for land. Finally, they are able to find a Blue Chaos Emerald. Rouge quickly takes it and the two hurry back.
Finally, Fiona, Nic, Sonia, Manic, and Rotor hurry to search for the Emerald in part of the distorted location that is falling apart. They run across the breaking location and are able to find the Cyan Blue Chaos Emerald. Fiona quickly grabs it before the rock below it breaks off.
Time has gone by, and everyone is able to return with the Chaos Emeralds in their hands.
Tails says, "We got all the Chaos Emeralds."
"And not a moment too soon," Manic says.
"Alright, now let's have the Chaos Emeralds circle around Sonic and all of us use their power to bring Sonic back. I just hope it works," Sally says.
"It has to work. It just has too," Amy says.
"Then we better get started," Silver says.
Amy lays Sonic's body on the floor and has both hands placed on his chest. Amy then steps back as Tails, Silver, Shadow, Maria, Fiona, Molly, and Knuckles place the Chaos Emeralds so they will circle around Sonic.
Sally says, "Let's hope this works."
Sally steps forward and calls out, "Oh Chaos Emeralds, gems of miracles. Please heed my call."
Suddenly, the Chaos Emeralds begin to glow.
Sally continues, "I wish to save this world. I wish to stop Solaris from destroying it. And I wish to bring back Sonic… once more."
The Chaos Emeralds continues to glow and lift Sonic in midair. Sally walks towards him.
Sally softly says to him, "Sonic, you're one of my best friends in the whole world. And to me… you're more than that. Please, come back to us. Come back to me. Save Eve. And save our world."
Sally leans her head towards Sonic as she softly says, "I love you, Sonic."
Sally then gives Sonic a kiss and he begins to glow bright. In the matter of seconds, Sonic has become his super form and has been brought back to life. Sonic opens his eyes to reveal a red color. Sally can't help but smile and tears fall down her face. She then hugs Sonic with tears of joy.
Sonic hugs her and says, "Thank you, Sally."
The two look at each other and Sally soon steps back, knowing what Sonic plans to do. Sonic then walks over to Shadow, Silver, Blaze, and Knuckles. The four know that this needs to be done. Maria and Jazz step forward as well.
Sonic asks, "Are you sure?"
"Um yes, Jazz and I… we want to help save Eve," Maria says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz says.
Shadow places his hand on Maria's shoulder and simply gives her a nod. Knuckles and the others do the same. The group steps forward in front of Sonic. Sonic raises his hands and transfers some of his powers to the others. With that, Shadow, Silver, Jazz, and even Maria gain powerful gold super form. Knuckles super form is pink, and Blaze is a flaming super form of red, white, and pink, and her eyes become gold.
With all of them their super forms, they all fly in the air and toward the blinding light of Solaris. In the dark blue abyss of the blinding light, they soon see a floating creature that has glowing yellow eyes and blue and gray skin like armor. They all know that this is Solaris and they need to defeat it in order to save their world. Sonic and Shadow are the first to fly over with the others right behind. Solaris then begins to have flying purple meteors thrown at them.
Silver quickly gets in front and uses his powers to create a protective shield. Shadow, Maria, and Jazz fly around it and use their Chaos Spear against it. When they strike at a strange shell, it begins to scream in agony. Blaze then creates an inferno beam and strikes the Shadow on the head. Sonic and Silver bash Solaris on the head.
Sonic says, "We need to strike at the monster's shell with full force."
"And that will destroy it," Knuckles says.
Everyone agrees to the idea and flies towards Solaris with full force. Everyone begins to bash, spin dash, and use any attack on Solaris with full force. Every time they destroy one of Solaris' shells, it screams in agony, and begins to lose it's power. Maria and Shadow perform Chaos Speakers. They continue to attack the monster as the monster continues to attack them.
After the final attack together, the monster begins to scream in agony as it loses its power and begins to fall.
Silver asks, "Is it over?"
"No. It's not over yet," Shadow answers.
Suddenly, Solaris begins to change into a different light glowing blue form and spread wings.
"Guess it's not going to be easy," Sonic says.
Blaze notices something on its chest and becomes shocked, "Over there."
Everyone looks to see the red orb in the middle of the monster's chest. Inside the orb is a familiar black and red color female hedgehog.
Maria says, shocked, "Eve!"
"Chao Chao!" Jazz cries out.
Suddenly, Maria hears a voice saying, "S-Sonic… Sh-Shadow… Maria…"
Maria gasps and says, "I hear her… I hear Eve's voice…"
"Eve must have grain as part of her consciousness," Shadow says.
"Then that means… it's possible that Eve must be trapped in Solaris' core. We can stop Solaris by removing Eve from it's core," Blaze says.
"Then let's go," Silver says.
Everyone flies over with top speed and aims their powers at the core. The monster continues to throw meteors at them, but Silver and Blaze repel the attacks. Shadow and Knuckles attack with their Chaos Spear giving Sonic, Maria, and Jazz the opportunity to get close. Solaris then fires a powerful beam, but the three dodge.
Shadow, Silver, Blaze, and Knuckles continue to attack Solaris with their powers allowing the three to get close to the core.
Sonic turns to Maria and Jazz, "Are you ready?"
"Yes," Maria says.
"Chao," Jazz answers with a nod.
Sonic, Maria, and Jazz raise their hands up and begin to use their Chaos Control on the core. Solaris begins to scream in agony as Shadow and the others attack it from the outside, but feels the strong attack at the core. The three continue their powers on Solaris and the core that Eve is trapped in begins to crack. With a lot of power, the core of Solaris shatters and Eve's lifeless body begins to fall out. Luckly, Sonic catches her in the nick of time.
Back in the ruins, everyone sees the binding light begin to be spread out across the universe. They soon see Sonic, Shadow, and the others land before them, and Sonic has Eve in her arms. As they watch the blinding light, it consumes everything. The blinding light soon transforms into a small flame.
Suddenly, after the battle, Sonic, who is still holding Eve in his arms, Shadow, Maria, Jazz, Knuckles, Silver, and Blaze find themselves alone in some black abyss. They all gently float down to who knows where.
Silver asks, "Did… did we destroy it?"
"No," Sonic answers.
Suddenly, a bright flash of light appears in front of them.
"I think… I think that is the true Solaris," Sonic answers.
The light surrounds them and teleports them to some strange location.
Somewhere in an unknown room, there is the young ruler of Soleanna along with his younger sister, Oriana. They look to see some glass container that has metal wings around it.
The duke says, "Look, Oriana. This is Solaris, the flame of hope."
"It's so beautiful… Oriana says.
"When the flame has grown large enough, our world will change. Solaris will allow us to control time and move through history. People will be able to rectify past mistakes and avoid bitter fate," The Duke says.
Oriana turns to her brother, "Will we be able to see Mother and Father?"
"Yes, Oriana. We'll both be able to see our parents once again," The Duke says.
The siblings take each other's hands and begin to walk away. They look at Solaris one last time and walk away. Once they're gone, Sonic, Shadow, Maria, and the others step into the scene to see the small flame known as Solaris.
"So… this is where everything began?" Blaze says.
"Yeah. This is what Solaris really look like," Sonic says.
Shadow soon says, "Who knew such a tiny flame could bring such devastation in the future?"
"Now that we're here, what do we do with it?" Knuckles asks.
Sonic kneels down and has Eve laid down gently, Maria knees to Eve and rubs her head with her hand. Jazz hugs Eve with Sadness.
Sonic walks over and says, "I think I know."
Sonic presents his hand forward and the chamber opens. Sonic then picks up the small flame and brings it to the others.
"If we put out this flame, Solaris will never exist and then we'll never have to worry about the Flames of Disaster," Sonic says.
"It seems so, and Eve will be brought back to life," Silver says.
Then calmly says, "And yet, our encounter will never exist either. It will be like we have never met each other. It will never happen."
"You're right. Anything that is connected to Solaris will never exist," Knuckles says.
Sonic walks over and kneels to Eve, "But we'll be saving the world, and… Eve wouldn't have to suffer like that."
"Yes. There will be some sacrifices, but knowing that we're doing this to save Eve, the future, and our world… it all that will truly matter," Blaze says.
Sonic nods his head and says to Eve, "Don't worry sis, we'll be together very soon. Of course, none of us will remember what happened today. But… it will be fine, as long as you're still with us."
Sonic turns to the small flame and with a gentle blow, Solaris is put out to never cause harm again. Of course, time will change so that Solaris will never happen.
On a bright and sunny morning, "Sonic! Sonic it's time to wake up!"
Suddenly, eyes begin to open as he sees Eve the Hedgehog looking down on him with little Shun in his arms.
Sonic yawns and says, "Morning Eve, what are you doing?"
"Getting you. It's our second day in Soleanna and you're still sleeping," Eve says.
"Well, I'm up now," Sonic says.
Sonic then gets out of bed and stretches his arms with a yawn.
Soon Sonic and Eve walk outside to see Sally and the others.
"He Sonic, nice to see you're finally up," Sally says.
"Hey Sonic," Amy happily says, and runs to him. Giving him a hug.
"Hey! Amy! Cut it out!" Sonic yelps.
Eve begins laughing and Jazz the Chao flies to her and lands on Eve's head.
"So are you guys ready to continue with our vacation?" Sonic asks as he pushes Amy away from him.
"We sure are. We're going to explore the city. I heard there's going to be a water chariot race today and anyone is welcome to sign up," Tails says.
"Count me in," Eve happily says.
"Nah. You know me. Water and I do not mix," Sonic says.
"Well make sure you cheer with me and Eve. I'm going to sign up too," Amy says.
"Well then, let's get going and watch a great race," Sonic says.
Everyone agrees and heads off to see the race. Hours passed and Sonic along with the rest of the Freedom Fighters are sitting on the side as they see Eve and Amy standing on rafts while the rope is attached to robots.
Maria happily calls out, "We're rooting for you."
"You can beat them!" Fiona cheers.
When they hear the bell rings, the race has begun, Amy and Eve soon begin to race as well. Unknown to anyone, their adventure with the Solaris Project becomes nothing but a faded memory and their lives have returned back to normal. However, because they change the past and put out the small flame of Solaris, the events of them are forever undone. Of course, those memories are better left undone.
