Eve and the Black Knight Saga Episode 2: Unfamiliar Knight World, Familiar Faces
Eve holds out the sword of Caliburn as King Arthur begins to head straight towards her. Eve then swings her sword as King Arthur does the same. Both of the swords clash with one another as sparks of energy appear. Eve jumps off the stone hill and lands on the ground. Eve holds her sword in both her hands to see King Arthur challenging her.
King Arthur says, "Now let us see the power of your so-called sacred sword."
Soon, King Arthur then rides his sword away as he holds out his sword.
Caliburn says, "After him!"
Eve then uses her speed to chase after King Arthur. Eve uses his speed as fast as he can to see she has caught up with King Arthur.
"Remain calm. Swing your sword in time with your opponent's attack," Caliburn says.
"Right," Eve says.
King Arthur swings his sword, but Eve uses her sword to intervene. Then does it another two times, and Eve continues to use Caliburn to repel the attack.
Caliburn then calls out, "Now!"
Eve jumps in the air and slashes Caliburn's blade at King Arthur to cause some damage. Once King Arthur takes some damages, he rides on his horse.
Eve angrily says, "You're not getting away!"
Then Eve chases after him.
"Pursue me at your own peril, weakling," Arthur mocks.
This ticks Eve off, "Weakling?!"
When Eve is able to get close, Arthur swings his sword, but Eve uses her sword to intervene. Then performs it a few more times.
Caliburn says, "Now's your chance."
Eve then slashes her sword at Arthur and causes him to receive more damages. Soon, the chase continues. Eve continues to chase after King Arthur. They reach a bridge and Eve slides on the railing to catch up. Then they both land on an open field. King Arthur and Eve use their sword to try to repel each other's attack. Eve continues to give King Arthur damages with her sword. When she performs the final blow, King Arthur falls off his horse, but quickly lands on his feet.
Eve stands in front of the king as she takes a deep breath as she sees King Arthur using his sword for support and has the scabbard in his other hand. Suddenly, the scabbard begins to glow and restore his energy, making his injuries disappear.
"This could go on forever. As long as he has that scabbard," Eve says.
"I quite agree. I fear that with the skills you have now and King Arthur has the scabbard in his possession, we cannot defeat him," Caliburn says.
"What do you mean by my skills?" Eve asks.
"Well, your skills are quite different than those of a knight. And yet, you have strong potential to become one," Caliburn says.
Suddenly, they hear King Arthur maniacally laugh.
Then he says, "It appears I have underestimated you young knight. Yet you have ways to go in order to defeat me."
Caliburn whispers to Eve, "It appears that he thinks you still need more skill to become one."
"I suppose. I have to teach myself how to use a sword and have to rely on my own skills," Eve whispers.
Suddenly, King Arthur magically reappears on his horse. Then rides off into the sky.
Eve sighs, "That was too close. But it seems that fighting him isn't enough to stop him.
Merlina steps forward, "I fear you are right, Eve. For as long as he bears that scabbard... We may never be able to defeat King Arthur."
"Chao Chao," Jazz says, and lands on Eve's head.
"Oh, and who is this young Chao?" Caliburn asks.
"Oh, This is Jazz, she's my little Chao," Eve says.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Jazz," Caliburn says.
Jazz flies to the sword and looks at it curiously.
"Alright, now to the subject at hand. What're we gonna do about King Arthur and his scabbard?" Eve asks.
Caliburn answers, "We must ask the scabbard's former owner how to hinder its power."
"Oh yeah," Eve replies.
Then turns to Merlina, "You mention that King Arthur got the scabbard and sword from Nimue, right?"
"Yes. She is known as Nimue, the Lady of the Lake," Merlina answers.
"I guess it will be a good idea to pay her a visit," Eve says.
"I fear it may not be as simple as that," Caliburn says.
"Whaddya mean?" Eve asks.
"You shall see for yourself. Onward, my young Eve," Caliburn says.
"Okay. Let's get going. And hope we don't have any surprises," Eve says.
"Chao," Jazz replies.
Eve, Caliburn, and Merlina head off to continue the quest. Along the way, Eve decides to practice with her sword wielding, with the help of Caliburn. Merlina is impressed to see how well trained Eve has with the sword, but notices how different it is for a knight to use. Caliburn notices it too.
Sometime later, three find themselves walking beside a river in a large forest.
Caliburn is the first to speak, "Hmmm... I suppose something must be done about this."
"What must be done?" Eve asks.
"My edge has grown blunt. Being in that rock for so long has taken its toll," Caliburn says.
Eve notices to see that he has some scratches on it, not to mention it looks dirty and the blade is looking rather dull.
"I guess you're right. I noticed that being stuck in that stone has made you look a bit dull and worn out a bit," Eve says.
"Indeed. We must seek out the blacksmith in the castle town. I must be presentable when we meet the Lady of the Lake," Caliburn says.
"Okay, but we'll need to think on how. As of now, we're considered enemies of King Arthur and he or any of his knights will try to attack us the chance we have," Eve says.
Then turns her head, "What're you gonna do, Merlina?"
Eve then notices that Merlina isn't paying attention. Indeed, she is sitting on her knees as she picks a flower from the ground.
"Merlina?" Eve calls out.
Merlina gently has the flower close to her and softly asks herself, "Why do flowers bloom, knowing they are destined to wither?"
Eve becomes a bit confused to see Merlina looks distant, almost sad.
Merlina sighs and says, "Their time of beauty is so short-lived."
Eve walks over and asks, "Are you okay, Merlina?"
Merlina looks up to see Eve looking at her. "Forgive me, Eve, but I would be recognized in town. I shall remain behind, in hiding."
"Okay. I guess it's understandable. I'll meet you at the lake," Eve says.
"Yes. May your journey be safe," Merlina says.
Then remember, "Before you do, I have something to give you."
Merlina reaches for Eve's hand that has the sword and removes it. Then places an black and red color wrist armor on her hand. After that, she places the sword back in Eve's hand.
"Um, thank you Merlina," Eve says.
"You're welcome. Be safe, Eve," Merlina says.
"I will," Eve says.
Jazz lands on Eve's head and grabs hold of her quills. Eve then speeds off to find a blacksmith. Soon, Eve and Caliburn travel across the land to find the Blacksmith.
Caliburn looks around as he says, "Hmmm… something is wrong, here. Better be careful."
"Right," Eve says.
Eve and Caliburn cross over a drawbridge and soon see the Knights of the Underworld. Eve quickly jumps up and slashes at them using Caliburn. Soon, they both begin to notice something wrong.
Caliburn says, "Everyone's acting strange. Let us survey the area ahead."
"Yeah. I got a bad feeling about this," Eve says.
The two hurry ahead to see the underworld's creatures are attacking the people. Eve sees trouble and uses Caliburn to slash and cut the creatures and they disappear in a puff of smoke. The people continue to run away screaming, but Eve attacks the Underworld's creatures. The creatures that have been cut disappear in a puff of purple smoke. Eve then hears a scream and turns to see a little girl in trouble. Eve creates a bow and arrow with her Chaos Energy. She pulls the rope back to make a Chaos Energy arrow.
Then shouts, "Chaos… Arrow!
Then fires at the Shadow creature, striking it on the head. Then it disappears in a puff of smoke.
Eve walks to the little girl and asks, "Are you okay?"
"Yes. I'm okay, thank you Miss Knight," The girl says.
Eve looks at the little girl and becomes shocked to see the little girl is a little rabbit with peach and orange color fur and brown eyes. She is wearing an orange dress with an apron on.
"Cream?" Eve says, confused.
"Um, my name isn't Cream. My name is Flora," The girl says.
"Um, it's nice to meet you Flora. So uh, do you know where the Blacksmith is?" Eve asks.
"Oh, the Blacksmith is down the street from here," Flora says.
"Thank you. Make sure you get to somewhere safe. It's dangerous out here," Eve says.
"I will," Flora says.
Eve walks down the street as she can't stop thinking about the girl she sees that looks like Cream, her friend.
"That is weird. That little girl looks like Cream, but it's not," Eve thinks.
Caliburn asks, "Eve, is something the matter?"
"It… it's nothing," Eve says.
She walks down the street and notices the place with a few swords at the window.
"This must be the Blacksmith's, let's see if he is home," Eve says.
Eve walks over and calls out, "Excuse me, Blacksmith. Are you here?"
"I'm here. Welcome, Sir Knight," The Black Smith says, walking into the opening.
Eve is shocked to see the blacksmith wearing a light brown long sleeve shirt with a brown apron, and brown shows. He is also wearing goggles, and holds a mallet. What really shocked Eve is to see the Blacksmith resembles another familiar face.
"Tails?!" Eve softly asks.
"Tails?" The Blacksmith says, confused.
Eve calmly says, "Oh nothing. Can you help me?"
"Of course, Sir Knight," The Blacksmith says.
"She is no knight. At least not yet," Caliburn says.
"Yeah. I'm more like training to become one," Eve says.
Soon, the Blacksmith takes an interest in the sword, "What a magnificent sword! I've never seen one that talks before!"
"I understand the feeling," Eve says.
"Come inside my shop and I'll help tend to your sword," The Blacksmith says.
Eve, Jazz, and Caliburn follow the Blacksmith inside his shop.
The Blacksmith looks at the sword as he says, "I know a fine blade when I see it! I am a blacksmith, after all!"
"Really now. Think you could fix up Caliburn. He does need some tending and his blade is looking kind of dull at the moment," Eve says.
"Who are you calling dull?" Caliburn firmly asks.
"Of course I could! Now, what's the sword's name?" The Blacksmith asks.
"Caliburn," Caliburn answers.
"Hm? Caliburn?" The Blacksmith says.
"Yeah. I'm Eve, and the little Chao is Jazz,"
"Chao Chao," Jazz happily says.
The Blacksmith thinks as he wonders, "Where have I heard that name before?"
"As much as I like to explain, but we're kind of in a big hurry," Eve says.
"Of course! Leave it to me!" The Blacksmith says.
The Blacksmith then takes Caliburn to get him fixed up. Even feels a bit skeptic about this. First she meets a girl that looks like Cream, and now she meets someone who looks exactly like Tails.
"This is completely weird. It's like this place has another version of my friends. Then again, I had that kind of experience when going up against Scourge and the Suppression Squad, and when I met Zonic and Zeve. I guess I should have known something like this would happen," Eve says.
Then wonders, "I wonder how come Merlina didn't tell me about it. Then again, she might not expect me to run into those who I'm familiar with."
Eve takes off her backpack and places it on the ground. She then takes out the other two chili dogs she has and gives one to Jazz and another to herself. They both begin to eat as Eve takes out her small photo album. She opens it to see the photos of herself with her brothers, and many of her friends, including Cream and Cheese, and Tails' pictures.
"I wonder if I'll meet anyone else who are familiar to me," Eve thinks to herself.
Just then, the Blacksmith calls out, "Eve, your sword is ready."
Eve and Jazz turn their heads to see the Blacksmith holding Caliburn who is nicely sharp, polished, mostly looking good as new.
Eve walks over, "Hey Caliburn, you look great."
"Yes. I feel as good as new," Caliburn says.
Eve takes Caliburn and says, "Thanks for fixing up Caliburn. Being stuck in that rock and remaining there for a long time has well, taken its toll on him."
"Glad I can help. Now that your blade is well sharp, it will make things easier for you, especially with the scary monsters roaming around," The Blacksmith says.
"Don't worry, I think I can manage," Eve says.
Eve leaves the Blacksmith shop and heads off as she calls out, "Thanks again. I'll be sure to drop by some time."
"Okay. You're welcome to come back anytime," The Blacksmith says.
Eve, Jazz, and Caliburn then leave the village and head into the woods to their next destination. They need to find Nimue, the Lady of the Lake.
As Eve runs through the forest, she says to the others, "Hang on guys, we're going to have some company right now."
And Eve is right, the Knights of the Underworld appear before her and begin to charge. Eve brings out Caliburn and charges towards the dark knights.
"You ready, Caliburn?" Eve asks.
"Hmph. I was forged ready," Caliburn says.
Eve uses her speed to charge at the villains. Then Eve swings and slashes her sword at the creatures of the Underworld as she continues forward. She also notices some of the creatures attacking many of the town's people. Eve slashes her swords at the creatures and they disappear.
Eve turns to the townspeople, "Everyone, you have to escape now."
Many of the citizens don't ask any questions and hurry off. Eve then continues on her way as she fights the creatures and protects the citizens of the kingdom. Soon, they are able to reach deep into the woods.
Caliburn says, "If I'm not mistaken, the Lady of the Lake is somewhere up ahead."
"Then let's hurry, cause we're going to have some more company," Eve says.
Eve continues to use her speeed as she fights against the monsters. Eve jumps, kicks, slashes with Caliburn, and defeats many of the creatures. Eve soon lands on the top of the wagon and the horse begins to run off with Eve on it. Yet, the creatures are chasing after her still.
"Eve, they are coming again. You must attack when they try to jump on to the wagon," Caliburn advises.
"You got it," Eve says.
The creatures continue to chase her as they try to jump on the wagon. She uses her timing and is able to defeat the creatures. They continue to jump at Eve, but she uses her sword to counter attack. The wagon then turns to a different direction.
"Woah!" Eve yelps.
"Do not worry, we're heading in the right direction. Remember to keep your guard up," Caiburn says.
"You don't need to tell me twice," Eve says.
Eve continues to use her sword to attack the creatures that come at her. Eve then decides to use more force by bringing out her own sword. With both swords, she is able to perform powerful feats. Time has gone by, and Eve, Jazz, and Caliburn are able to lose sight of the Knights of the underworld and find themselves deep in the forest.
Eve looks around, "It looks like we've run right into the forest. Is this the right way?"
"Yes, the lake is said to lie in the remote part of the forest," Caliburn says.
"Then it's best we continue from here," Eve says.
Eve uses her speed to run into the forest and soon sees a large tree, much to Eve and Jazz's amazement. According to Caliburn, the giant tree is a sacred tree that protects the forest. The group continues to travel down the road that leads under the tree's giant roots. They continue on their long journey until they notice a giant lake up ahead.
"Yes. You should soon be able to see the lake," Caliburn says.
"And I think I'm seeing it now," Eve says.
The group looks ahead to see the large lake and they exit the forest. It's very huge and there are fire flies flying above the lake. Since it's starting to grow into evening, it looks like the fireflies are making the lake glow.
"The lake looks beautiful," Eve says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz happily says.
"Yes. Indeed it is. Nimue shall be near. We shall begin our way over to see her," Caliburn says.
"Yeah. The last thing we need are any more surprises," Eve says.
Suddenly, someone says in a familiar and serious tone, "I have found you, apprentice knight, enemy of my King!"
Eve, Jazz, and Calburin look ahead to see a black dressed armored knight is standing a few distance in front of them. Upon closer inspection of the Knight, Eve gasps in shock to see the black curved up quills with red stripes on it, along with the familiar color shows.
"Wait a minute…? Sha-Shadow?" Eve asks, completely shocked.
However, the hedgehog resembles her brother, says, "I am Lancelot, Knight of the Round Table."
Then brings out his sword, "I challenge you to a duel!"
Eve becomes stunned to see this. It was shocking enough to see the little girl resemble her friend, Cream, and the Blacksmith resembles her friend , Tails. And now, she meets one of the Knights of the Round Table, who is in service to King Arthur, looks exactly like her brother Shadow, and has challenged her to a duel of knights. Eve feels worried about one thing only: Can she really fight against someone who resembles her brother.
