Eve and the Black Knight Saga Episode 5: Battle in the Dragon's Cave
After leaving the stonehenge, Eve, Caliburn, and Jazz hurry to the Dragon's cave to rescue any of the villagers who are trapped inside. Eve continues to use her super speed until she reaches the grounds of the mountain. The three look to see the giant mountain before them. The mountain also has some rocky areas and grass areas on the base of the mountain.
"So this is the mountain where the dragon's cave is," Eve says.
"Indeed it is. We must find a way inside and rescue the people inside," Caliburn says.
Eve looks at the mountains to find a way for them to get inside. Soon, Eve discovers large bushes and tree branches at a certain part of the mountain.
"What is it, Eve?" Caliburn asks.
"Hmm… I wonder," Eve says to herself.
Eve then brings out Caliburn and uses him to slash at the bushes and tree branches. They all fall down to reveal a giant entrance to a cave.
"Good show Eve," Caliburn says, delighted.
"Thanks. Now let's go inside. We're on a rescue mission," Eve says.
"But remember to watch out for the dragon, and the Knights of the Underworld," Caliburn says.
"Right," Eve says.
"Chao," Jazz replies.
The three then make their way inside the cave to find the villagers and defeat the dragon that lives in the cave. The three walk deeper and deeper into the cave, and they can see glowing crystals around the walls, floor, and ceiling.
"Wow! There are so many minerals and gemstones in this cave," Eve says.
"Chao!" Jazz says, and looks at the crystal.
She then notices herself on the crystal's reflection. She twirls as she admires herself at the reflection. She then makes a sweet expression and smiles on her face.
Suddenly, Eve calls out, "Jazz!"
Jazz then flies ahead to find Eve and Caliburn.
"Remember to stay close, Jazz. We don't want you to get lost in this cave," Eve says.
The three continue forward as they search for the villagers that are supposed to be trapped here.
"I must admit, this place looks rather… unsettling," Caliburn says.
"Yeah. This place is kind of creepy," Eve says.
Jazz shakes and nervously says, "Chao Chao."
The three continue to walk deeper and deeper into the cave. Soon enough, they all come across a giant cavern at the end of the tunnel. The three are surprised to see the place has large stone pillars, along with stalagmites and stalactites. There are also different color crystals stuck to the ground, walls, and ceilings, even on some of the tall pillars. Some of them are connected from the ground to the ceiling. There are also some mushrooms around at parts of the area. Of course, there are small holes on top of the ceiling and sunlight is shining through the tiny holes. That helps bring a little more light in the cavern.
"This place looks amazing," Eve says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz happily says.
"Indeed. Now we must find the villagers and rescue them," Caliburn says.
"Right. And we need to keep our guard up. The dragon and the Knights of the Underworld could be around here," Eve says.
"Indeed," Caliburn says.
The group looks around to see if they can find anyone who has been imprisoned in the cave. For some reason, they haven't seen any person, or any of the villagers the kid described. Jazz also sees another crystal and decides to look at it with interest. This crystal is large, an onyx purple kind of color and it's shaped like some kind of prism. Suddenly, Jazz takes a closer look to see what looks like a hand of some kind. Jazz squints her eyes as she rubs the surface of the crystal and to her shock, she sees a kind of face in the crystal.
Jazz panics, "Chao Chao Chao Chao Chao Chao…."
Eve and Caliburn turn their heads to see Jazz panicking as she cries out and points towards the Crystal.
"What's up, Jazz?" Eve asks.
Caliburn says, "Please try not to panic, the dragon might hear us if you make this much noise."
Jazz stops screaming and glares with anger. She then flies to Eve and takes Caliburn from her. Then flies him to the gem stone.
"What is the meaning of this?" Caliburn asks.
"Chao," Jazz answers, having Caliburn close to the gem.
Caliburn looks at the crystal carefully and notices something odd. He squints his eyes as he takes a closer look at the gem what is inside of it.
Seeing what it is, Caliburn gasps, "Oh my goodness. There seems to be someone trapped inside the Crystal."
"What?" Eve asks, and looks inside.
She soon sees someone inside the gem herself, "You're right. Someone is trapped inside. But how?"
"This might be the dragon's doing. I didn't think the dragon could use magic," Caliburn says.
"Anyway, we need to get this person out of there," Eve says.
"Indeed. I've noticed that the strange dark purple onyx are appearing to be avoiding the light for some reason," Caliburn says.
"You're right," Eve says, noticing it herself.
Caliburn says to Eve, "See if you can reflect the light and strike that onyx."
"I guess we could try," Eve says.
Eve then walks to the nearest small light and uses Caliburn's blade to the light and is able to have the light reflect and create a small beam. Eve then adjusts the light until the beam of sunlight hits the crystal. When the light hits the crystal, they glow a bright purple light and the crystal shatters. Soon, the villagers are set free from the gem.
Eve walks to the villager and asks, "Are you okay?"
"Yes. I'm okay. Thank you for saving me," The villager says.
"It's no trouble, but right now, you need to get out of the cave before the dragon shows up," Eve says.
Then points to a save that she arrives from, "Just head through the cave and it will lead you out."
"Thank you brave knight," The villager says.
"Well, I'm not a knight yet," Eve says.
"Still, thank you. But there are still many of us trapped here. The dragon had all trapped in these strange magical crystals, but you seem to have found a way to get me out," The villager says.
"Well, Caliburn did, but it was also a team effort. Right now, you should get out of the cave and help escort anyone else we're able to rescue," Eve says.
"Of course," The village says, and leaves to get out of the cave.
Once the villager is gone, Eve turns to Caliburn and says, "I guess that explains why we didn't find anyone."
"Indeed, they all must be trapped in these onyx crystals and sunlight is the only way to set them free," Caliburn says.
"And it's possible that there are more around this area," Eve says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz calls out.
Eve and Caliburn hurry to where Jazz is and see three more Onyx crystals. Eve looks inside the crystals to see three more people are trapped in the crystal.
"There are more in here," Eve says.
Caliburn looks inside a gathering of six of them, "There are six people imprisoned in the onyxes as well."
Jazz finds another gathering of crystals and calls out, "Chao Chao. Chao Chao Chao."
Eve then looks around the cavern to see there are multiple dark purple onyx crystals around the cavern, and each of them have a villager trapped inside of the onyx.
"Goodness, there must be multiple people trapped within these crystals. This could take a while to shatter each one individually," Caliburn says.
"Unless… there is a way to shatter them all at once," Eve says.
"And how do you suppose we do that?" Caliburn asks.
"Well, if we can find a crystal that can also reflect the sunlight and aim them at the onyx crystals, we can have multiple beams of light hitting them at once," Eve says.
Suddenly, Jazz calls out, "Chao Chao."
Eve and Caliburn turn their heads to see a giant crystal that is round, white, and has many different sides. It looks like a giant sized disco ball.
"That could work," Eve says.
Eve then walks to the sunlight that is a rather larger amount of sun rays than the others.
"We'll place the crystal right here," Eve says.
"Chao," Jazz happily says.
She then picks up the crystal and pushes and rolls it towards the sunlight. When the crystal shines at the sunlight, the reflections of the sunlight bounce off the crystal and heads off in multiple directions. Soon, the cave is covered in multiple beams of sunlight. The crystal's sunlight soon hit the onyx crystals and they all begin to glow purple. Soon enough, the crystals shatter into pieces and all the citizens of the village have been set free.
"Well, it appears that we're able to get the job done, but right now, we must get them out of the cave," Caliburn says.
"You're right," Eve says.
Then she calls out, "Everyone, you need to get out of the mountain before the dragon comes back. Just follow the cave back and you'll be able to get to safety."
The villagers are scared, concerned, and confused, but they decide to follow Eve's orders anyway. Eve watches as all the villagers who are trapped in the cave are leaving through the tunnel that will assure their escape. When all the villagers are running through the tunnel, Eve and the others decide to do the same.
"Well then, shall we be going," Caliburn says.
"Okay. It's kind of strange. We haven't seen a dragon yet. We were told there's supposed to be a dragon, and Gawain said there's supposed to be treasure. So how come we haven't seen any?" Eve says, looking around the cave.
"That is rather mysterious. We shall be getting going before anything else happens and we'll be late for…" Caliburn says, but is soon interrupted by a mighty roar.
Jazz jumps in a fright and hides in Eve's quills.
Shocked, Eve asks, "What was… that?"
"I think that was the dragon," Caliburn says.
Suddenly, something flies over them, causing them to look up to see a large red dragon with black horns and wearing a black nose ring is flying around and lands on a large pillar close to where the group is at. The dragon looks down and growls in anger as it glares at Eve holding Caliburn and Jazz hiding behind her.
"I think it knows we're here," Eve worriedly says.
Caliburn quickly says, "Eve, bring out your other sword. This dragon looks very mighty…"
"And dangerous. Dulcy is never hostile towards us… except when we first met her," Eve says.
"Let me guess, this Dulcy is also a dragon," Caliburn suspects.
"Yes," Eve says.
The dragon then flies down from the pillar and dives towards Eve and the others. Soon, it begins to breathe fire at her.
"Eve! Look out!" Caliburn cries out.
Eve quickly dodges out of the way. The dragon then flies in the air of the cavern and dives down to attack Eve with it's sharp claws. Eve quickly swings Caliburn and is able to hit it. The dragon continues to breathe fire and Eve quickly uses her Chaos Bubble to protect herself.
"Good heavens," Caliburn says.
"I don't think this dragon really likes it that we're in his cave, or that we set the villagers free," Eve says.
"I have to agree," Caliburn says.
The dragon then swings its tail at Eve. Eve then uses Caliburn and her own sword to repel the attack. Eve then jumps in the air and slashes her sword at the dragon's scaly skin. However, the blades aren't doing a thing.
Eve says, "Nothing seems to be working on it."
"We must find the dragon's weak spot," Caliburn says.
Just then, the dragon approaches Eve with it's head and tries to chomp on her. Eve then jumps and hits the dragon on the nose. The dragon continues to breathe fire and attacks Eve. Eve quickly jumps on the mushroom that allows her to jump into the air and on to the pillar. Eve continues to swing her sword as the dragon tries to chomp on her and breaths fire. Eve uses her Chaos Bubble to protect her from the flame. As they fight the dragon, Caliburn notices something on the chest of the dragon. On the chest of the dragon is a heart shaped gemstone that is crimson red.
Calbiurn says, "Eve, there's a red stone on the dragon's left chest. It must be the weak spot."
"Then we're going to have to hit it with a direct hit," Eve says.
Eve then uses her Chaos energy to fly in the air, and places Caliburn on the belt of her scabbard. Eve then uses her Chaos energy to create a bow of Chaos Energy and same with the bow.
When she sees the direct hit, Eve shouts, "Chaos Arrow!"
Then fires the arrow of Chaos energy at the dragon. The Chaos Arrow then hits the red crimson heart gem and shatters it to pieces.
With the crystal destroyed the dragon screams in agony as a strange magical aura surrounds it. Soon, the dragon begins to grow smaller as Eve descends to the ground with Jazz and Caliburn close by.
Eve asks, "What is happening?"
"I do not know," Caliburn answers, confused.
The dragon continues to shrink as her appearance begins to change shape. Suddenly, the dragon shape and size change and the glow disappears to reveal a different form. The being before Eve is a big blue and white color cat with a round body, large feet, large ears, and tail. It's wearing brown shoes, a green shirt and a brown belt with a brown buckle. The cat turns to see Eve as it looks at her with his curious yellow eyes.
Eve thinks, "Big? Big the Cat?"
"Hello, it's nice to meet you. My name is Johan, it's nice to meet you," The cat, Johan says.
"Um, hello, it's nice to meet you. Were… were you the dragon?" Eve asks.
"Yes. I was. I was under a mean spell by a mean witch for a long time. I was forced to act like a dragon. I faintly remember taking treasure and villagers and putting them in gem stone. But now, you set us all free," Johan says.
Then hugs Eve, Caliburn, and Jazz a hug, "Thank you for saving me."
Then snuggles all three of them.
"You're welcome," Eve says.
Johan then places Eve on the ground, "Give me a second while I give you something."
Johan walks away for a little bit as Eve and the others wait. Johan then comes back to bring back two treasure chests and place them on the ground. Johan opens the box to reveal gold, gems, and other kinds of treasure.
"These treasures belong to you as appreciation of removing the spell. They are yours to do as you please," Johan says.
"Um thank you," Eve says.
Caliburn asks, "now that you're free, what do you plan to do now?"
"I'm going to go do what I love to do… fish," Johan says.
He leaves as he says, "Thank you again."
"You're welcome. Bye Johan," Eve says.
The group looks to see the treasure.
"So then, what do we do with this? We can't be expected to take it all," Caliburn asks.
"I think I know what to do with it," Eve says.
After leaving the cave, Eve and the others are able to find the villagers at their village and give them the dragon's treasure.
The head of the villager says, "Thank you for your generosity, and for rescuing us from the dragon."
"It's no trouble. It's what I do," Eve says.
Just then, one of the villagers gives her a bag and the Head of the village says, "We all think it will be right if you keep some of the treasure. You've earned it."
"Are you sure?" Eve asks.
"Yes. We're sure. Think of it as a token of our appreciation," The head villager says.
"Um thank you," Eve says, and takes the bag.
Caliburn turns to Eve, "We better get going. It's already very late."
"Okay," Eve says.
Then Eve turns to the villagers, "I better get going. There's still a lot for us to do."
"Thank you again, brave knight, for saving us and our village," The villager says.
"You're welcome. Goodbye," Eve says, and zips off.
The villagers wave goodbye and Eve waves goodbye as she runs with top speed.
After their success of rescuing the villagers from the dragon, breaking the spell that has been on it and giving them the dragon's treasure to the villagers; Eve, Jazz, and Caliburn are walking into the woods to where the little girl is. The sun has set and now it is night time. It actually takes them a lot longer for Eve to rescue the villagers that it's already night fall of the third day.
Caliburn sighs and says, "The appointed time has passed."
"Yeah, don't remind me," Eve says, rolling her eyes.
Jazz sternly says to Caliburn, "Chao Chao. Chao Chao Chao. Chao Chao. Chao Chao Chao Chao."
"What is she saying?" Caliburn asks, confused.
"I think she said that we both know that, but we agreed to help rescue the people trapped in the cave by the dragon. And to be honest, that is more important than worrying about some test," Eve says.
Suddenly, the three look to see the little girl from before.
"Oh, it's you again. You've been waiting here the whole time? Sorry about that," Eve says.
"It's okay," The girl says.
"Well then, good news, we rescued everyone from the dragon's cave and everyone is safe now," Eve says.
The kid bows her head and says, "Thank you. And sorry about tricking you."
Eve and the others become confused to hear that.
"What do you mean?" Eve asks.
Suddenly, the strange aura surrounds the child and her appearance changes to Nimue, the Lady of the Lake.
"Nimue?" Eve asks, surprised.
"Yes. I do apologize for tricking you like that, but I have to test you," Nimue says.
"You mean… this was part of the test?" Eve asks.
"Chao?" Jazz asks, confused.
Yes. You have shown courage, strength, and compassion. I shall show you how to blunt the power of Excalibur. Cause you're a true knight!" Nimue says.
Eve happily cheers, "Yes!"
"Come with me to the lake and I'll explain," Nimue says.
"Of course, we shall follow your lead," Caliburn says.
Some time later, after returning to the lake, Nimue explains to them how to blunt the power of the scabbard and stop King Arthur. Surprisingly, it actually requires the Arondight sword and the Galatine twin sword she has retrieved from Lancelot and Gawain.
"I understand now. So the only way to stop King Arthur is to defeat the Knights of the Round Table and collect the sacred swords they possess," Eve says.
Nimue says, Yes. The three sacred swords combined with your Caliburn, should dispel the power of immortality that protects him."
"So we need four of the sacred swords to help dispel the power. I got Caliburn, which is one. I got Arondight from Sir Lancelot, and the twin Galatine sword from Sir Gawain…." Eve says, holding the two sacred swords.
"So then, we shall need one more sacred sword in order to dispel the scabbard," Caliburn says.
"That's right. Sir Percival is the only knight of the Round Table who has the final sacred sword you need to stop King Arthur, and free from the scabbard that possessed him," Nimue says.
"Percival, huh," Eve says.
"The remaining knight, Percival, is the Knight of the Grail. She's as strong as she is noble. One mistake could be your last," Caliburn says.
"I figure it might not be easy. But don't worry I've got one of the great sacred swords to help me out with that," Eve says.
"Of-Of course!," Caliburn says, feeling embarrassed.
"Yes. The question is where to find her. We don't even know where," Eve says.
"Maybe so, but I do have a feeling she might find us," Caliburn says.
Eve says, "Then it's best we get going and find Percival."
"Yes. However, we will have to fight her in order to reclaim her sacred sword," Caliburn says.
"Right," Eve says.
Then she, Jazz, and Caliburn are ready to take their leave and say goodbye to Nimue.
"Fare thee well brave knight," Nimeu says.
"Bye Nimue, and don't worry…" Eve says.
Suddenly, Eve's chest begins to glow a blue aura again. Nimue becomes surprised to see the glow on her chest. What's more, a transparent figure of a blue hedgehog appears behind Eve, smiling the way she is.
Eve and the figure says, "I just gotta do what I gotta do, in order to protect everyone."
Nimue gasps in shock and senses a familiar aura, but she then shows a smile on her face. With that, Eve, Jazz, and Caliburn head off on their journey to continue stopping the Knights of the Underworld and hope to find Percival and reclaim her sacred sword.
Nimue calmly says with a smile, "Take care Sir Eve, I know you will take care of the sword and the sword will take care of you."
Then thinks, "After all, the sacred sword Caliburn will protect it's true wielder. I know now more than ever she will be able to save King Arthur… as long as you protect the item that is precious… for him…"
