Eve and the Black Knight Saga Episode 7: Showdown with King Arthur, Merlina's New Reign
After parting ways with Merlina. Eve, Caliburn, and Jazz soon arrive at Avalon, which is a small island. As they set their foot on the island, they see a castle. The castle is big, but not as large as the large royal palace.
"Hmm, this is an interesting castle," Eve says.
"No doubt this is where King Arthur is," Caliburn says.
"Okay. Let's finish this once and for all," Eve says.
"Yes. Let's," Caliburn says.
The three then walk towards the castle and are ready to take on the ruler of the kingdom, King Arthur.
Meanwhile, at another castle that is larger than the castle of Avalon, Percival is walking towards the castle until she notices Lancelot and Gawain at the front gate.
"Lancelot. Gawain. There you are. I've been looking for you," Percival says.
"Really now? Is there something you need," Lancelot asks.
"And where is your sword? Don't tell me that apprentice…." Gawain asks, and begins to suspect.
"Does she have my sword? Yes she does? She explained to me about the situation and knows how to save our king. She asked that we meet her here until she brings back the scabbard and hopefully our king will return with her," Percival says.
"We can only hope that she does," Lancelot says.
"I can't believe that we were all defeated by a mere apprentice," Gawain says.
"Maybe so, but the way I see it, Eve is very strong, noble, and knows the act of compassion. Of course, calling her an apprentice is all but a memory," Percival says.
"What do you mean?" Lancelot asks.
Percival calmly says, "Eve is now a true knight. She shall be known as Sir Eve, Knight of the Wind."
"Knight of the Wind, hmm," Gawain says, placing his hand on his chin.
"We must go, if what you said it's true, then we shall wait for Eve and her companions here. But what of Merlina?" Lancelot says.
"You're right. We haven't seen her," Gawain says.
"I'm not sure. Eve hasn't seen her either. Or maybe she is worried that we would bring harm to her, given our orders from the king," Percival says.
"Maybe, but we still have to live up to our orders, we can only hope it was the scabbard's power and not the king's own words," Lancelot says.
With that, the Knights begin to walk inside the castle. Unknown to them, Merlina has spotted them from her magical pool. She then decides to head to Castle Camelot to meet them and Eve, once she has the scabbard and the king in her possession.
Back in Avalon, Eve has reached the grounds of the castle. She finds a small alley close by and places her backpack with the sacred swords inside. Then places Jazz down.
Jazz worriedly says, "Chao Chao."
"It's okay Jazz. It's okay. I just need you to remain hidden and watch over the swords until it's the right time to use them," Eve says.
Then pats Jazz on the head, "Can I count on you to do that?"
Jazz smiles with a determined position, "Chao Chao."
"That's my girl," Eve says.
Eve picks up Calibun, "Alright, let's go, Caliburn."
"Yes, let us be off," Caliburn says.
Eve and Caliburn leave the alley and are beginning to walk down the courtyard. Suddenly, they hear the sound of a horse, and look up to see King Arthur riding on his steed to the castle and lands a few distance away from her. When he gets off of his horse, the horse then disappears into a puff of smoke.
"Well, if it isn't the apprentice knight," King Arthur says.
"I'm no longer an apprentice. I am now, Eve the Hedgehog, Knight of the Wind! Let's settle things once and for all, King Arthur!" Eve says.
"It seems your impersonation of a knight has improved somewhat," King Arthur says.
"I have you to thank for that," Eve says.
"Then let us have another look at that unique swordsmanship," King Arthur says.
"You're going to be sorry you asked," Eve says with a smirk.
Then whispers to Eve, "This is it, old pal…"
"Indeed. Give it everything you have. Only then will you prevail," Caliburn says.
Eve nods her head with a smile.
Then turns to face King Arthur, and says, "Then bring it on, King Arthur!"
"You shall regret the day you ever raise your sword against me!" King Arthur sternly says.
Eve says, "Let's finish this off once and for all!"
King Arthur raises his sword and swings it down on Eve. Eve quickly blocks the attack.
"Hmm, it seems you have improved a little, but you are no match to face me," King Arthur says.
"I'll just show you what I can really do," Eve says.
Eve then pushes King Arthur back and uses Caliburn to swing a blow at him. Eve then brings out her other sword and does the same. King Arthur then swings his sword and Eve uses her sword to prevent the attack, but it's enough to push her to the ground.
King Arthur chuckles, "Do you think you can defeat me you foolish hedgehog?"
Eve takes deep breaths as she thinks, "I can't give up. I have to stop him. I promised Merlina and…."
Eve suddenly remembered, "And I also made another promise. I don't know who, but I promised that I will help them remember… I promised to help remember who hit us and get back home. I promise to help everyone."
Suddenly, Eve hears King Arthur says, "You might as well give up, you have no hope of defeating me."
"Well then, I don't know if I try, but I have my promise to keep," Eve says.
Just then, the blue glow appears from her chest and feels that she has gained strength. Eve then uses the strength to push King Arthur back.
"What's this?" King Arthur asks, shocked.
Eve's chest continues to glow as she has Caliburn and her own sword in her hands.
"I will not lose to you King Arthur, and I will help protect the kingdom, because I promised Merlina and the Knights that I will help bring back their real king. And I'll make sure the scabbard of yours is destroyed.

"You really think so?" Arthur remarks.
"I don't think. I know!" Eve answers.
Eve bounces off the wall and gives him a spin dash with her sword. King Arthur ends up being pushed back and looks to see Eve lands on her feet.
"Let's settle this fight once and for all," Eve says.
"Very well, Knight of the Wind," King Arthur says.

Welcome to the greatest storm
Eve and King Arthur charge at each other and raise their swords. Eve raises Caliburn.

They both collide their swords at one another and they both repel each other's attack.

King Arthur swings his sword down, but Eve dodges, and she uses her sword to help lift herself up and gives King Arthur a strong kick in the face.

Eve then lands on the ground and then pushes herself forward and charges at the king.

Into the heat of day
Eve swings her sword as King Arthur uses his own to block her attack. King Arthur then raises his scabbard towards Eve. Then swings down to strike Eve with it.

Eve quickly dodges and swings her sword to give a strike on his back. Then lands on the ground behind him.

King Arhtur turns around and swings his sword at Eve, Eve quickly uses her Chaos Bubble to protect herself.

Eve lowers her bubble and charges towards King Arthur.

King Arthur then his sword to slash the air to create a dark tear. Then dark arrows begin to fight at Eve. Eve brings out Caliburn and begins to slash away the dark arrow.

Eve continues to use Caliburn to attack the dark arrows.

King Arthur then swings his sword, but Eve uses her own sword to block the attack.

Eve then moves back and charges as she holds Caliburn and ready to give him the blow.

As Eve charges towards Arthur, a transparent figure appears over Eve and her chest continues to glow a blue color. The figure is a blue hedgehog with green eyes and a peach muzzle and is wearing a silver color armor.

I'm the Knight of the Wind
Eve then swings Caliburn and gives him a strong hit.

Whoaaa Whoaaaa Whoaaa Whoaaa Whoaaaa!
Then perform multiple slashes at King Arthur and push him back.
King Arthur says, "It must admit, your skills of a knight have been approved. But, let's see if you can handle my strongest Knights of the Underworld."

King Arthur uses the sword to slash another tear, and this time a large one.

Welcome to the end, it's near
Then strong Knights of the Underworld holding swords, shields, and spears appear.

"Hmph. Looks like you decided to bring in reinforcements," Eve says.
Then makes a smirk, "Then let's do it."

Eve then calls out, "Chaos-Calibur!"

With that, her Master Emerald sword glows a green aura.

Eve then charges at the Knights of the Underworld. Then using both swords, she begins to slash them as they begin to disappear.

Holding your crown high
Eve continues to fight against the Knights of the Underworld as she uses Caliburn and her own Sword to fight against them.

She then spins around like a tornado and with her sword, she is able to sweep the Knights of the Underworld away, until they're puffs of smoke.

Eve then turns to see King Arthur holding the scabbard and the sword. Then both Eve and King Arthur charge towards each other.

Eve and King Arthur continue to fight as they swing their swords at each other. They both also prevent their attacks from striking each other.

King Arthur then uses his powers to push Eve back, but Eve lands on her feet and charges at the Black Knight.

Eve then charges at King Arthur and swings her swords at him as he blocks the attack.

Seeing her chance, Eve is able to use Caliburn and her sword to strike at King Arthur and have caused him some damage.

King Arthur swings his sword at Eve, but Eve uses Caliburn to block the attack.

In battle every hour
King Arthur performs the same attack until Eve is being pushed to the ground and uses both of her swords to block his large blade. Eve struggles as she is holding both swords in her hands.
Eve struggles as she says, "King Arthur is really harder to beat than I thought."
"Yes, but you mustn't give up. I know you will be able to defeat him," Caliburn says.
"You're right. We can do this… together," Eve says.

Eve then pushes herself up as she uses Caliburn and her sword to help push up the blade. Seeing her chance, Eve spin dashes with her sword and strikes at King Arthur.

Eve then continues to give King Arthur blow after blow from both of her swords.

Eve then jumps off and lands on the ground. She then presses herself forward and spins into a tornado.

Eve continues to spin as she strikes King Arthur with her blades.

King Arthur moves back, but Eve is not letting him get away. Eve chases after him. King Arthur swings his sword and Eve uses her own to block his attacks. He does it a second time, and Eve prevents the attack.

Eve then gives King Arthur powerful blow after blow from her sword.

Eve then bounces back as she charges at him with her super speed.

Then gives King Arthur a powerful blow with her Chaos-Calibur.

The Knight of the Wind
The blow of the Chaos-Calibur causes King Arthur to fall to his knee and uses the sword for support. Eve turns her head as she takes deep breaths. This is the strongest and hardest sword fight Eve feels that she has ever done. In other words, Eve is able to put up a strong and powerful fight against King Arthur.
King Arthur chuckles and holds out the scabbard, "I am immortal. You cannot defeat me!"
Soon, the scabbard begins to glow as it's ready to use the power of immortality to heal himself.
Caliburn whispers to Eve, "Now, Eve! The three sacred swords!
"Got it!" Eve says with a nod.
Eve then quickly heads to the hiding spot and takes the three sacred swords from her backpack. Then have them formed and levitate into a triangle shape. Suddenly, strange markings begin to glow on the ground forming a triangle and forms a strange spell. Suddenly, the scabbard stops glowing.
Shocked, Arthur looks at his scabbard, "How can this be!?"
Eve then charges with a battle cry and holds out her two swords. King Arthur brings out his sword, but Eve uses her Master Emerald sword to slash and knock the sword from his hand. Then steps back and charges as she uses Caliburn to give King Arthur the final blow.
"Noooooo!" King Arthur cries out and has fallen to the ground and lets go of the scabbard and his sword.
Eve holds Caliburn up in triumph, "Yes! I did it!"
"Chao Chao," Jazz happily cheers and flies to Eve.
Eve lowers Caliburn and hugs Jazz with a smile.
"We did it! We stopped King Arthur!" Eve says.
"Yes. We certainly did," Caliburn says.
Suddenly, King Arthur begins to dissolve in dark matter. Eve and the others turn their heads to see him disappearing in a puff of smoke. The only thing that is left is the scabbard, and the second thing is not even an object.
Eve becomes shocked as she gasps and covers her mouth. She sees a blue hedgehog with quills, peach muzzle. The hedgehog is wearing silver armor that has covered his whole body, and has a red cape behind it. His eyes are closed and looks… lifeless.
"So-Sonic?!" Eve asks, shocked.
"Regretfully Eve, this isn't this Sonic the Hedgehog that you know. This is King Arthur's true self, but… something isn't right," Caliburn says.
Eve kneels down to the hedgehog and places her two fingers on his neck. Then leans to his chest to hear a heartbeat.
"He's still alive, but it seems he must be in some kind of sleeping spell or something," Eve says.
Jazz then pets the hedgehog on the head, "Chao chao."
Eve looks to see the scabbard and picks it up. Then takes it a short distance away from the hedgehog.
Confused, Caliburn asks, "What do you plan to do?"
"I want to try something, and I need your help," Eve says.
Eve then places the scabbard on the ground and with Caliburn, tries to destroy the scabbard by stabbing it. Suddenly, a strange purple aura surrounds it as Eve tries to pierce the scabbard.
"That is rather odd. I figure since King Artyhur has been defeated we can destroy the scabbard," Caliburn says.
"I don't know, but we need to figure this out. We'll have to take King Arthur to the castle like… this," Eve says.
"I must say that the Knights and Merlina deserves an explanation," Caliburn says.
Eve then thinks about something.
And turns to Caliburn, "That's true, but… I think we deserve an explanation from Merlina."
"What do you mean?" Caliburn asks.
"Chao Chao," Jazz replies with the same expression.
"That's what I like to know, and I'm beginning to think Merlina has a few answers I wanna ask," Eve says.
"If it is true, then let's meet her in the castle," Caliburn says.
Eve puts the Sacred swords along with the scabbard in her backpack. Then she picks up King Arthur in her arms.
Eve asks, "Are you alright hanging from my backpack?"
"I think I'll be okay. With the unexpected predicament, this arrangement will have to do," Caliburn says.
"Then let's hurry to Castle Camelot and find Merlina and the Knights of the Round Table," Eve says.
Eve then hurries off to Castle Camelot to find Merlina and the Knights of the Round Table. Either way, Eve is planning on getting answers from Merlina. Her instinct is telling her that something isn't right, and plans to find out.
In the large grounds of Camelot Castle, Merlina is standing in the middle of the court yard as she looks at the sunny sky. Her eyes are no longer blue, but now a golden yellow color as tears fall down from her face. Suddenly, she hears footsteps and shows a calm and yet, sinister smile on her face. She turns around and stands to see the Knights of the Round Table walking toward the wizard. Even though they plan to meet Eve, they still have their orders to carry out.
Lancelot says, "We have orders from the King. Have you any last words?"
"Our King became nothing more than a soulless puppet, the power of the scabbard corrupted him and became the dark knight you have witnessed," Merlina calmly says.
Percival demands, "You'd better start explaining, Merlina."
Suddenly, Eve calls out, "Merlina!"
Eve drops from the sky and lands on the grounds of the court yard. She has King Arthur in her arms as Jazz flies next to her and brings out the scabbard as Caliburn pulls himself out. What shocked the Knights to see Eve has the hedgehog in her arm, unconscious.
"You! How did you come by that scabbard? What happened to the king?" Gawain asks, and plans to come to Eve to confront her."
Percival holds Gawain back, "Wait."
Eve explains, "We're able to defeat the king, but the armor disappeared in the puff of smoke and all that was left was the king himself and the scabbard… The Black Knight disappeared in a puff of smoke… just like one of the Knights of the Underworld. And what's more, a strange dark aura surrounds the scabbard that is preventing me from breaking it. Almost as if, the dark powers of the scabbard are still alive."
Merlina lowers her head with a calm smile, "You are correct. It must have been a protection spell from the one who has cast it. And I'm sadly to say, King Arthur has become a soulless being. I can sense a small speck of light, but it will not last, not without his soul."
"Huh?" Eve asks.
Then asks, "Merlina, did you… did you know something about this?"
As she closes the distance, Merlina says, "Well done and thank you, Eve."
Eve then steps back with Jazz as they keep the scabbard away from her.
"What's the matter, Eve?" Merlina asks.
Eve looks at Merlina and senses something off about her. She then notices her eyes are no longer blue, but now a gold yellow color, but it seems to be giving off a strange dark vibe.
"Sorry Merlina, but I can't give you the scabbard," Eve says, worried.
"Oh, and why not?" Merlina asks.
"Something has been bugging me. In fact, it's been bugging me since we were walking to the lake to see Nimue, and when we once again meet. You said that the dark spirit has been taking control of the king, and yet, the armor disappeared into a puff of smoke and his body and the scabbard is left behind. I'm starting to think the dark spirit and the true dark powers weren't in King Arthur the entire time…" Eve says.
"What? Then who?" Lancelot asks.
"Why not ask Merlina, after all… she was there when the scabbard tried to take over the king's body," Eve says.
Merlina simply smiles as her eyes begin to glow yellow. Merlina then uses her magic and aims it at Eve and the others. They all try to move out of way, and the magic hits the ground. It causes an explosion, causing them to fall down. Jazz hits the ground and loses grip of the scabbard. The Knights are shocked to see what has happened.
Merlina then uses her magic to have the scabbard levitated to her until she has it in her hands.
Merlina says, "With this scabbard I can erase my grandfather's greatest mistake…"
Soon, the power of the scabbard begins to become active in Merlina's possession. Then the magic makes her hair unbraids itself and begins to spread and move around. Soon, Melrina's body lets out a powerful pink glow while the scabbard is glowing blue.
"What?" Eve asks, shocked.
"I shall make this kingdom eternal…" Merlina says and her eyes begin to glow.
Merlina then raises the scabbard above her head and stabs it to the ground. Then, a powerful energy begins to flow from the ground.
Caliburn cries out, "Eve, get back!"
Eve turns to Caliburn, "But what about, Merlina?"
"There isn't much we can do. We must flee for now and come up with a plan," Caliburn says.
Eve turns her head to see Merlina releasing the power of the scabbard all over the castle. Eve turns to Caliburn and nods head in reply. Eve holds Arthur with one arm as she holds Caliburn with her other hand.
Eve runs to the Knights and says, "We have to go, now!"
The Knights nod his head and follow Eve's group so they can escape from the castle. Merlina continues to use the power of the scabbard for whatever ambition she has in mind. Soon, Merlina's appearance begins to change as the power of the scabbard flows into her. With the scabbard in Merlina's possession, she will be able to accomplish her real goal.
