Eve and the Black Knight Saga Episode 9: Live Life to the Fullest
Eve looks around to find herself in a glowing gold and blue color light. She remembers that she is still trying to fight Merlina that has the dark scabbard in her possession.
Eve looks around and asks, "What is this place? Where am I?"
Eve soon notices the blue glowing light that is coming from her chest. Eve becomes confused to see the glow coming from her chest. Suddenly, a transparent figure appears in front of her. Eve gasps because the being is the blue hedgehog with peach muzzle and blue eyes, and is wearing silver armor. She remembers seeing the appearance just recently, even though he resembles one of her brothers.
"King Arthur," Eve asks, surprised.
The hedgehog nods his head and says, "Yes. It's nice to finally meet you, at least in this form."
"What do you mean?" Eve asks.
"I understand you being a little skeptic, but this isn't the first time we met. After all, it was thanks to you that I've finally awakened and I was able to remember who I am," King Arthur says.
Eve becomes confused and suddenly remembers her dream. She remembers seeing a small glowing ball and talking to her. Eve also agrees to help him remember, help him get home.
Eve's eyes wide in surprise, "You're the voice that I talked to in my dreams."
"Yes," King Arthur says.
"But what happened to you? What happened to Merlina? And well…" Eve says.
"Yes. I understand you want answers. You see, the day the scabbard's dark power attacked, Merlina tried to use her magic to prevent me from being possessed by the spirit. Sadly, it ended up coming with a price. Merlina was able to stop the Spirit from possessing me, but my soul was forced to leave my body, and the evil spirit ended up possessing Merlina. Sadly, the spirit also feels Merlina's feelings and corrupts it little by little," King Arthur says.
"That does make sense," Eve says.
Then asks, "But what happened to your soul after what happened?"
"I don't fully remember at the time, but I feel that I need help, need to remember, and need to save those dear to me. I know that I needed help, so I went to find someone who could. That leads me… to you," King Arthur says.
"So then, once I agreed to help you…" Eve says, realizing the truth.
"Yes. You allowed my soul to be absorbed into your body, and I remain there where you protected me. And when Merlina had you brought here, I began to remember little by little. Now that I remember I must ask for your help, will you help me save Merlina? She… she's one of my dearest friends and I don't want her to feel sorrow for the possible future anymore," King Arthur says.
Eve smiles and says, "I will. I want to save Merlina and everyone in the kingdom as much as you do."
"Somehow, I knew you would," King Arthur says.
Eve and King Arthur hold each other's hand and then grab hold of each other's. That is when a golden glow appears from their hands and surrounds both their bodies.
Still in the castle throne room, Eve comes to see that she has talked to King Arthur within her mind, and sees that she has King Arthur's soul all along. Now King Arthur has asked to help him save Merlina, and Eve agrees because she doesn't want Merlina to do this out of her own sadness.
In her thoughts, Eve says, determined, "Don't worry Merlina, Arthur and I are going to save you."
The gold glow surrounds Eve and suddenly, she begins to transform. Gold and silver color armor begins to appear on Eve's feet and legs. Then puts on her upper body. A red cape flows from her back The gold and silver helmet with a red gem appears on her head. She places the face cover over her face and the armor appears over her quills. Caliburn also transformed that he gained gold, silver, and bronze on the handful with a ruby on it. Then Caliburn's blade grows back.
Eve then swings the blade forward as she holds it with both hands. Then a gold beam of light explodes from the blade. Caliburn's blade enlarges into a silver color, powerful blade.
"Whoa…" Eve says, astonished.
Seeing from her Reflecting Pool, Nimue says, "That's the greatest of the sacred swords, Excalibur!"
"Excalibur…" Eve says, surprised.
Eve looks to see Caliburn, more like Excalibur has received his face back on the handle.
"Caliburn, you're okay," Eve says, relieved.
"Yes. But it is all thanks to you, and King Arthur as well," Caliburn says.
Confused, Eve asks, "How did you?"
"I had a strange suspicion about the strange glow I've been seeing. It seems you were too busy fighting to notice. Now I understand that you and King Arthur's soul have become one. That allowed to wake up King Arthur's soul and to awaken the light of the most powerful sacred sword, Excalibur. It was your willpower and determination to help King Arthur and everyone in the kingdom that made it all possible," Caliburn says.
"Right. I understand. And I'm still going to help King Arthur, but freeing Merlina…" Eve says.
Eve turns to see Merlina is staring at her and suddenly, she teleports herself, Eve, and Caliburn away from the throne room. Jazz looks in surprise to see Eve's Master Emerald sword has been left behind. Jazz picks it up and hurries to leave the castle to reach the Knights and Nimue.
Eve soon notices that she and Caliburn are in a dark abyss and looks ahead to see Merlina letting out a dark aura.
Merlina says, "You would not understand, nor could you understand. That is why I must do what I must do. I am finished with you."
Just then, Merlina transforms, a powerful darkish purple and blue color monster Black Knight of King Arthur. The tentacles hold four large dark purplish powerful swords. Eve holds Caliburn and knows that she must fight Melrina to save her, and wake up from this awful sorrow she endured.
"What good did a world that goes on forever? And what good is creating an ideal world if it causes harm to others? I won't allow you to go down this kind of path," Eve says.
Eve then flies through the abyss to attack Merlina. Merlina uses her dark powers to create light purple energy and throws them at Eve.
"Eve, dodge," Caliburn says.
"Right," Eve says.
Eve then flies past the multiple balls of energy at top speed. Eve continues to dodge the energy balls until she comes close to Merlina. With the dark knight, Merlina commands it to swing its swords at Eve. Eve quickly dodge the attacks and uses Caliburn to repel the attack. Eve then spins like a tornado and attacks Merlina with multiple strikes.
Merlina is able to push Eve back, but the gold armor hedgehog stops herself and flies over to see Merlina.
Hearing her voice, Merlina says, "This story and the world it created will come to an end. Is that what you wish?"
"No. It's not gonna end! My stories only stop when I stop running and when I stop fighting," Eve says.
Eve then flies to Merlina at top speed. Soon, she's able to reach Merlina, and attacks her with Caliburn. Merlina then swings her sword to attack her, but Eve uses Excalibur to attack and repel the attack.
"Your blade cannot touch me," Merlina says.
"We'll just see about that," Eve says.
Eve continues to repel Merlina's attack.
"Eve now," Caliburn says.
"Got it," Eve says.
Eve then reaches Merlina and slashes her sword right at Merlina's dark armor.
"Just keep slashing," Caliburn says.
"I'm giving everything I got," Eve says.
Eve continues to slash at Merlina's dark knight armor with all her might. Merlina's barrier is able to push Eve back.
"I thought the sacred sword, Excalibur was merely legend," Merlina says.
"It was a shock for me as well," Eve says.
Merlina then commands the shadow to slash its sword at Eve. Eve quickly uses Excalibur to repel the attack and pushes the sword back.
Caliburn says, "Don't underestimate Excalibur reborn! I'm going to teach you the error of your ways."
"We're both going to teach you the error of your ways," Eve says.
Merlina has the shadow swing the swords at Eve. Eve then swings her sword at the swords, making them not cause any harm.
They hear Melrina say, "Your efforts are futile."
"I wouldn't think that if I were you," Eve says.
"Hmph! You're mistaken if you think this is the limit of Excalibur's power! Caliburn says.
Merlina continues to have the swings slash towards Eve. Eve uses her Chaos Bubble to prevent any of the attacks from hurting her. Eve then pushes the swords back with a burst of Chaos Energy. Then Eve flies to Merlina and attacks her with full force. She uses her spin dash with Excalibur to cause more damage. Eve then flies back as she takes deep breaths, but notices the dark armor and the shadow has become darker, monstrous, and powerful.
"We need to get through to her somehow," Eve says.
"Yes. As long as she has that scabbard and trapped within her own pain, she'll continue to act like this," Caliburn says.
"I'll try to talk to her again," Eve says.
Eve flies to Merlina and calls out, "Merlina, you have to stop this! You can't expect that a kingdom that will go on forever, even if it might happen in the future."
"You could never understand my sorrow at seeing the ruinous future of this kingdom," Merlina says, and has the shadow swing it's sword at Eve.
Eve then uses Caliburn to protect herself and the dark sword is pressing her and Caliburn down.
"I don't think I want to know about one-sided sadness," Eve says.
"Foolish wizard! You're willing to sacrifice countless others just to escape your own sorry?!" Caliburn says.
"You could never understand the sorrow I'm feeling right now," Merlina angrily says, and uses the tentacle to knock Eve away.
"My heart has become badly wounded by the thought of losing Arthur, losing the ideal world that was created and will not last. King Arthur and the Knights will end in ruin if nothing is done. Now that Arthur is no longer alive, it is up to me to make sure his kingdom will never end," Merlina says.
Eve is shocked to hear what Merlina is saying. What's more, she believes King Arthur is gone because she has seen his lifeless body, but what she doesn't know is that she ended up saving Arthur's soul and has it sent away from the kingdom. There is something else that is bothering Eve, the way Merlina acts when she might lose those she loves, reminds her of what happened… to her, when she lost everyone she loved from her past. Even though she is able to have her family, friends, and brothers… the scars of what happened to her as a child still runs deep, but she never let this take over her life.
Eve then angrily says, "Well then…."
Eve then places Caliburn on one hand and flies towards Merlina. Then has her hang glowing to perform Chaos Control.
She then swings her arm as she shouts, "It's about time someone woke you up!"
Merlina commands the shadow to attack Eve, but Eve quickly dodges the attack and gives the monster a hard punch on the stomach, sending her back.
Eve looks at herself, "The truth is Merlina, I do understand how you felt. I know how hurt to know that things didn't go as you hope."
"How… how could you?" Merlina asks, through the shadow.
"I know because the mistakes of others caused me to be separated from my birth family and my friends and I lost my memories the first time it happened. I know what it's like to learn that you might end up losing those you care about. I have terrible scars within my heart that sometimes it can be hard to bear, but still…" Eve says, looking at her hand.
"That doesn't give you the right to cause harm to others, just so you can escape from the sorrow you're going through. I'm sure Arthur wouldn't want you to feel like this because of the thought of losing him. He would want you to live life through the fullest. I know because despite all the pain and suffering I've gone through, I was able to live my light through the fullest with those I care about and fight with them so that others can live their lives as well," Eve says.
Eve rubs her hand on her head as the transparent of King Arthur appears beside her. Merlina becomes shocked to see King Arthur, or at least, a transparent version of him.
"Ar-Arthur…" Merlina softly says.
Eve becomes confused, but remembers that King Arthur's soul is in her body.
Eve calls out, "Don't worry Merlina, we're going to get you out of there!"
Then she and Arthur say, "We're going to save you no matter what!"
Merlina gasps in shock from within the monster. Seeing Arthur makes tears fall from her face. Outside of the monster, she notices that it's starting to get weakened.
"She's worn down… I'm not sure what you did, but you're getting through to her," Caliburn says.
"I think so too," Eve says.
Then both Eve and Caliburn notice something… off. They notice there is a strange dark glowing light on the left side of the chest. And one of the loose tentacles is pointing to it.
"What's that strange glow?" Eve asks.
"I don't know, but something is happening. The tentacle seems to be pointing towards it," Caliburn says.
"And it's right on the left side of the chest," Eve says.
Caliburn says, "You're right. Almost like Merlina is showing us…"
Caliburn realizes, "The scabbard!"
"That must be where the Scabbard is. We can destroy it, but… we might hurt Merlina," Eve says.
"I know, but it seems Merlina is giving you this once chance to stop the scabbard's power," Caliburn says.
"Right. It's time to finish this," Eve says.
Suddenly, Caliburn's blade begins to glow bright. Eve holds the sword at front as the point of the sword glows brighter. With charging up the energy, Eve launches herself as symbols travel around her. Eve and Caliburn fly at top speed and towards the left chest of the monster.
"It's over now," Caliburn says.
Eve and Caliburn pierce right into the monster and stab at the scabbard with full force. The scabbard's barrier shatters and the object itself begins to crack all over. Caliburn's blade glows, King Arthur appears transparently as Eve's chest glows. Eve continues to hold the blade and determines not to give up. Just then, Eve is able to pierce the scabbard and shatters it to pieces. Soon, the knight flies out of the monster. The monster begins to scream in agony as it begins to fall apart. Without the scabbard, all the power has begun to disappear.
"There's nothing Excalibur can't cut though," Caliburn says.
Eve giggles, "You can say that again."
Eve and Caliburn turn their heads to see the monster disappear into a puff of smoke. Soon, a familiar wizard who is now back to her normal form has fallen out of the monster and is unconscious.
Seeing what is happening, Eve and transparent Arthur say, "Merlina!"
Eve then flies over to the monster and quickly grabs Merlina.
Eve calmly smiles and says, "Come on, let's go."
Eve then uses the powers of her super form to teleport herself back to the castle ground. Eve then places Merlina's unconscious body on the ground. Eve then uses her powers to bring King Arthur's unconscious body to her and gently places it on the ground.
Eve says, "I guess it's time for you to return to your body, huh Arthur."
King Arthur's spirit appears in front of Eve and shows his transparent body.
"Yes. Now that the scabbard is gone, I'm able to return to my body. And it's all thanks to you, Eve and you too, Caliburn," King Arthur says.
"You could say that again," Caliburn says.
King Arthur walks to Eve, "Eve, I'm sorry to use your body for so long."
"It's okay. I'm glad I was able to help. I am a Freedom Fighter after all, we always help those in need," Eve says.
"Indeed, but you are also a true knight now. Of course, this Freedom Fighter works too," Caliburn says.
"Indeed. I must return to my body, and I'll be able to thank you properly," Arthur says.
Eve smiles as she feels King Arthur's soul leaves Eve's body and then returns to his own body. The soul absorbs into his body and lets out a bright blue glow. The glow soon disappears and Eve and Caliburn watch as Arthur begins to open his eyes. He lets out a grunt and groan as he uses his hands to help push himself to sit up.
Eve holds her hand out and asks, "Are you okay?"
Arthur looks to see Eve with her smile.
"I'm okay. Thank you, Eve," Arthur says, taking Eve's hand.
Eve helps Arthur up on his feet. Eve's gold armor disappears until she is back to her original form, and Caliburn is returned to his original form and his blade is still in tack. Eve and Arthur turn their heads to see Merlina is still laying down. Arthur walks over and kneels down to her in concern.
"Merlina," Arthur asks, placing his hand on Merlina's shoulder.
Merlina soon wakes up and turns her head a little to see Arthur's face.
"Ar-Arthur… what… what happened?" Merlina asks, and sits up.
"It's going to be okay Merlina," Arthur says.
Then Merlina hugs Arthur as he does the same.
Arthur says, "It's all going to be okay."
The two soon let go as they look at each other with happy smiles.
But Merlian saddens.
Eve walks over and asks, "Are you okay?"
"Eve… Arthur… I owe you both an apology," Merlina says with a face full of remorse.
"An apology? Whatever for?" Eve asks.
"For my actions towards you, Arthur, and everyone in the kingdom. I… I couldn't save King Arthur from the scabbard's power and he was forced to become a soulless being trapped in that armor. I've allowed myself to be so consumed in despair of what will happen to the kingdom that I've lost sight of those who truly care for me," Merlina says sadly.
Then tears begin to fall from her face, "What's more. I've summoned you to get the scabbard without realizing the power was within me and corrupted my feelings. I've used you so you could give me the scabbard for my own selfish sorrow."
"Merlina," Arthur says, worried.
Merlina continues, "Arthur. Eve. What I've done to you both is unforgivable…. I failed as a wizard because I couldn't save you. I ended up using you for my own selfish reasons. Putting you through all this. I can't believe I ended up going through such lengths because I fear that the kingdom will end and allow the spirit to control me like that."
"No. It's okay, Merlina. I wasn't angry," Arthur says.
"You weren't?" Merlina asks.
"Neither of us were. It's because we knew that you wanted to help us more than anything. It's… it's okay to feel sad and upset about what might happen. I know it could be sad and very hard, but I will be sad even more if you wouldn't be by my side anymore. I know things were hard when Merlin passed away, but I'm sure he wanted both of us to be happy and live the life we have now." Arthur says.
Then says, "And in a way, during the incident with the scabbard…. You actually saved my life. My soul left my body, but it ended up saving my soul from being corrupted by the scabbard's power. And it ended up within Eve's body because she accepted me and accepted my time of need. When you summoned her, it also brought me back as well. You may not think it, you ended up helping us as well."
Then Eve says, "Merlina... Every world has its end. I know that's kinda sad, but…"
Then she picks a flower from the ground, "That's why we gotta live life to the fullest in the time we have. At least, that's what I figure. And I'm sure your grandfather would want that as well."
Eve gives Merlina the flower.
She holds it close to her and softly says, "Grandfather…"
"Eve. Your majesty," Someone calls out.
Eve, Caliburn, Arthur, and Merlina look to see Nimue, Jazz, and the Knights walking towards them.
"Well done, Sir Eve," Percival says.
"Well it was also thanks to you guys, and Arthur here," Eve says.
"You could say that again," Caliburn says.
Nimue says, "I'm relieved to see both are okay."
"Chao Chao," Jazz happily says, holding Eve's sword and her backpack.
"Hey Jazz, I'm glad to see you're okay," Eve happily says and hugs Jazz in her arms.
"Chao Chao," Jazz happily says, holding Eve.
Gawain turns to Eve, "To think, Merlina ended up bringing you who also has King Arthur within her the entire time."
"It was a bit of a surprise for all of us, even though I didn't knew," Eve says.
Then asks, "But, what will happen now?"
Merlina steps forward, "I know the first thing to do is to send you back to your world. And for Caliburn to remain with King Arthur."
"Indeed it is for the best that I shall remain with Arthur," Caliburn says.
"I'll say," Nimue says.
"Hm? What are you saying, then?" Percival asks.
"I'm afraid I'm a little lost myself, Caliburn," Eve says.
"Have you forgotten who I am? I am the sacred sword Caliburn! The moment I was pulled from the sword, and until now, I come to see there's been two who are worthy for the crown," Caliburn says.
"Wait… he means us?" Eve asks, looking at Arthur.
"Yes. At first I thought it was only you, but it appears there has been another who is worthy of Excalibur's power. It also shows that Arthur is the rightful ruler of the land," Merlina says.
"I guess it makes sense, I have to get back to my own world. I'm sure my friends and family are worried about me," Eve says.
"It is for the best. Merlina did bring you from another world after all," Lancelot says.
"I agree. You already did so much for all of us. I can't ask you for anything else," Merlina says.
"I know. I have to get back home," Eve says.
"I know we haven't known each other for very long, but I'm already going to miss you," Arthur says.
"Me too," Eve says.
Then turns to Caliburn, "I know we only know each other for a short time, Caliburn, but I'm going to miss you very much."
"I shall miss you too. Of course, I understand you have your own battle back at home. I do hope that one day, you'll be able to finish your own battles," Caliburn says.
Eve nods her head.
Eve turns to Merlina lifting her arm with the armor, "Do you um, want this back."
"That will be alright, consider this as a parting gift. Now, it's time for you to return to your own world," Merlina says.
Jazz passes Eve's backpack and Master Emerald sword to her as Jazz sits on Eve's head.
Merlina then performs her magic to create a portal beam that will send her back to her home world. Eve and Jazz wave their goodbyes and are sent back to their home world.
Merlina smiles and says, "Thank you, Eve. Thank you for everything."
The knights, king, wizard, and sword watch to see Eve and Jazz are being returned to their home world.
Unconscious, Eve hears Sonic's voice, "Eve…. Eve…"
Eve groans as she opens her eyes to see what she thinks is King Arthur, but no longer has the armor. That's when she realizes this is her brother, Sonic.
"So-Sonic?" Eve softly asks.
Eve wakes up and sits up to see Sonic. Jazz happily flies to Sonic and hugs him.
"Hey Sonic. Looks like I'm back," Eve says.
"Back from where exactly? You've been gone for days, we were worried. And where did you get that armor," Sonic replies.
Eve looks at the armor and answers, "Let's just say that I ended up being dragged on another adventure."
"Another adventure? What happened?" Sonic asks.
"It's a long story," Eve says.
Then yawns, "But right now, I could really use a rest."
"Chao," Jazz says.
I guess so. Anyway, let's get you home, your parents are worried," Sonic says.
"Right," Eve says.
The two hedgehogs soon begin to walk back home.
Sonic asks, "So what happened?"
"Well it actually happened while I was heading to my parents house," Eve says, explaining the story.
Eve continues to explain Sonic the story. Eve is glad to have an incredible adventure in Camelot, but is glad to be home and knows she still has her own battles to face. Eve is glad to have met new friends and gone on another adventure, but glad to be back home with her brother and her other friends as well. Of course, Eve and Sonic's battle still continues.
