High Stakes on the High Sea Saga Episode 1: Set Sails with Captain Marine
On a dark and stormy night, Sonic, Eve, Jazz, Tails, Cosmo, and Maria are riding in the X Tornado in the middle of it. The rain pours hard as thunder clashes in the sky. Tails continues to control the X Tornado as he is trying to get the ship through the sky.
"This has to be the worst storm I've seen," Cosmo worriedly says.
"Are you sure this is a good idea for us to go there?" Maria asks.
"I'm starting to agree, Tails. We've been out here for a while and we're caught in a storm," Eve says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz says, worried.
"Yeah! So, then, where's this big energy reaction of yours?" Sonic asks.
"It should be around here somewhere," Tails says.
Then look at the instrument on the control panel,"Aha! I'm getting a reading on radar! It's close! Sonic, can you see anything?"
Suddenly, a large waterspout appears on the horizon.
"Tails!" Sonic panics and points to the waterspout.
"According to the radar, it should be over that way," Tails says, looking at the radar.
"Are you sure about this?" Cosmo asks.
"Yeah. We're getting awfully close to the middle of the storm," Maria adds.
Suddenly, a lightning bolt strikes at one of the X Tornado's wings, and soon it begins to wobble.
"What the...?" Sonic exclaims.
"We've been hit by lightning," Cosmo says.
Eve looks behind her, "And that's not the only thing wrong."
Just then, the Tornado's engine begins to smoke and burn.
"Aaaah! The engine!" Tails panics.
"Tails, do something!" Sonic panics.
"Easy for you to say!" Tails panics.
Soon, the tail begins to descend.
"We're going down!" Tails cries out.
Tails continues to try to control the plane as it begins to descend lower.
Cosmos says, scared, "Tails, we're heading towards the waterspout!"
"I KNOW!" Tails panics.
Eve screams, "Hold on!"
Everyone holds on tight to their seats as the X Tornado begins to get trapped in the vortex of the water spout. Suddenly, a green flash appears in the center of the spout.
With groans and grunts, Sonic, Eve, and the others are regaining consciousness from being knocked out by the storm.
"Ow. My head," Sonic says, rubbing his head.
"Is everyone okay?" Eve asks.
Maria rubs her head and answers, "I think so."
"Chao Chao," Jazz says, feeling dizzy.
"I'm okay. My head kind of hurt though," Cosmo says.
"Let's get out of the X Tornado and stretch our legs, and I can check on the engine," Tails says.
Moments later, everyone is out of the X Tornado. They still feel dizzy from the crash and need to relax. Luckily, Tails is able to start working on the engine.
"That was one lousy storm. We've been thrown completely off-course," Sonic says.
"It seems so. This place is bright and sunny," Eve says.
Cosmos looks at the ocean, "I wonder where we are."
"This place looks very nice and peaceful," Maria says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz says, laying on the sand.
"At least we're here in one piece. Wish I could say the same for the X Tornado. The wings have broken off when we crashed and the engine is completely fried," Tails says.
"Then we're stranded," Cosmo says.
"Question is… where are we?" Eve asks.
Suddenly, they hear someone call out to them, "Ahoy there!"
The hang turns their heads to see a female raccoon heading towards them. She has orange, brown, cream and white color fur, peach skin and blue eyes. She wears tan gloves, a lime tube top with white trims, black shorts, white socks, lime and green orange sneakers, and two yellow scrunchies to make pigtails in her hair.
"Um ahoy! My name is Eve. This is my little Chao, Jazz," Eve says.
"Chao Chao," Jazz happily says.
"I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog," Sonic says.
"I'm Tails," Tails says.
"I'm Cosmo," Cosmo happily says.
Maria shyly smiles and says, "I'm Maria."
"Nice to meet you. The name is Marine. It's nice to meet you. Now come on, me swabbies! Your captain is setting sails for adventure!" The raccoon, Marine says.
"Yeah, no. Hold on a second," Sonic says.
"What is it?" Marine asks.
"Listen, Marine, we're kind of lost at the moment. Our plane crashed here and we don't even know where we are," Sonic says.
"You're on Seagull Island, near Windmill Village You got any questions, I'm your gal, mate! After all, nothin' goes on 'round these parts without me knowing about it first, mate! As for Seagull Beach, well, I named it after the heaps of seagulls round 'ere. I am your captain and you're on my crew now," Marine says.
Then walks off, "Now let's shove off to adventure!"
The group becomes confused to see they are being made part of Marine's crew.
"Uh, Marine, what kind of adventure are you talking about?" Cosmos asks.
"Well, fighting pirates for one thing," Marine says.
"Pirate fighting you say?" Sonic asks, interested.
"Just a few days ago a nasty group of pirates came to the island. They've been looting the island in their search for treasure!" Marine says.
"Treasure?" Cosmo says, confused.
Maria says, "I remember reading about pirates from my story books. Not all of them are bad."
"True, but that doesn't mean we'll run into good pirates," Eve says.
"I wonder what the pirates could be looking for," Tails says.
"Who cares? They're going to find a spin dash with their names on it," Sonic says, slamming his fist on his other hand.
Eve rolls her eyes, "Oh brother."
Maria and Jazz giggle in reply.
"Actually, I think they're looking for this!" Marine says, and holds out a shining green emerald.
Marine says in pride," And I found it!"
Seeing the gem makes the group surprised, especially Eve when she notices her sword glows a little.
"Uh Marine, where did you find that?" Sonic asks.
"I found it on the beach close by, why?" Marine says.
Eve walks over, "Marine, I think you should give me the gem."
"What? Why?" Marine asks, confused.
"You see that gem is…" Sonic asks.
But suddenly, something speeds right past them in the matter of seconds and causes the sand to cover them. Marine looks to notice the green gem she has found is gone.
"Oh no! My sparkly gem!" Marine exclaims.
"What just passed us?" Cosmo asks.
"Whatever it is, I'm impressed. That was pretty fast," Sonic says.
"Yeah. Whatever it is was almost as fast as we are," Eve says.
"'Pretty fast?!' I was amazing," A robotic voice says.
The group turns to see a strange robot that has the emerald in his possession. The robot is green, white, yellow and gray. The robot has some kind of torpedo like head and is levitating on hover shoes. It seems to have a strange symbol on it, and it has a mustache on it. It also has black with yellow sclera, with a red like mask.
"Who… who are you?" Maria nervously asks.
"Kid, you're looking at the best of Cap'n Whisker's agents. The fastest of the fast. The Sultan of Speed. The embodiment of awesome! The name's Johnny and you all will eat my dust!" The robot, Johnny says.
"Cap'n Whiskers?" Cosmo says, confused.
Maria asks, "Um Mr. Johnny, sir, do you think we can have the emerald back? It's… well, it's very important that we have it back."
"'Mr.'? 'Sir?' Just call me Johnny. And no, I won't give you it. Cap'n Whiskers like me to get some treasure, and I'm giving this to him. See you later, suckers," Johnny says, and flies away.
"Give that back!" Marine says, chasing the robot.
"Well Sonic, it looks like we got some competition," Eve says.
"Yeah. You better be ready to eat your words, Johnny-boy!" Sonic says.
The group then begins to chase after the robot.
"Come on Marine, looks like you're getting your adventure after all!" Eve says.
The group chased after the robotic torpedo. They know that they need to get the Chaos Emerald back from the pirate robot, and make sure Marine doesn't get hurt.
On a different part of the beach, Johnny, a robotic fast flying pirate is still getting away with the Chaos Emerald in his hand, Sonic, Eve, and the others are in pursuit.
Sonic calls out, "Drop that Emerald, Johnny boys."
"Give it back!" Eve calls out.
"Sorry, but you two are about ready to eat my dust," Johnny says.
"We'll see about that," Sonic says.
Eve turns to Tails, "Tails, keep an eye on the girls. Sonic and I will go ahead to catch up with this robot."
"Okay," Tails says.
Sonic and Eve pick up speed and hurry off to go get Johnny the robot pirate. Johnny continues to fly over the beach, but turns his head around to see the two hedgehogs are catching up with him.
"Hmm, you two aren't half bad yourselves, but you'll have to do more than that to catch me."
"We'll see about that," Eve says.
"Yeah. We've taken down enemies a lot tougher than you," Sonic says.
"I like to see you rodents try," Johnny says.
"Rodents!" Sonic says, annoyed.
Eve groans, "It's bad enough when Dr. Eggman calls us that."
"Let's trash this robot," Sonic says.
Then turns to Eve with a smirk on his face, "Double Spin Dash."
"Double Spin Dash," Eve says with the same expression.
Sonic and Eve then both perform Spin dashes making them go after and catching up with Johnny says.
Johnny looks behind to see the two hedgehogs in shock, "Huh? Who did those two get so close?!"
Sonic and Eve then jump in the air and about to wham them.
"Oh no you don't!" Johnny says, and fires a small torpedo from a blaster on his hand.
The small torpedo pops open to reveal a net and catches Sonic and Eve, electrocuting them as they scream in pain. Both hedgehogs fall to the ground as Johnny looks at them with an evil smirk on his face, 'if robots can make one.'
"Well, it looks like I have some competition, but it appears you don't know I have some tricks up my sleeve. I'll be delivering the goods to my capt'n now. See you later suckers," Johnny says, and flies away, taking the emerald with him.
That's when Tails, and the girls arrive.
"Sonic! Eve!" Tails cry out.
"Oh no! Are they okay?" Cosmo asks, shocked.
Marine quickly takes the net off of them as the two regain themselves from the shock.
"That was totally uncool," sonic says.
"I had no idea Johnny had an electrical net," Eve says.
Maria kneels to Eve and asks, "Are you okay, Eve?"
"Chao Chao," Jazz replies, concerned.
"We're fine, just annoyed that Johnny caught us off guard," Eve says.
"And got away with the Chaos Emerald," Sonic says.
"What will we do now?" Cosmo asks, concerned.
"We need to go after Johnny and get the Chaos Emerald back," Sonic says.
"But Johnny is flying towards sea, how are we going to catch up with him?" Maria asks.
"She's right, the X Tornado is damaged and it will take me a little while to repair the wing and the engine," Tails ays.
"And by then, the Chaos Emerald will be lost and who knows what this Capt'n Whiskers will do with them," Eve says.
The group begins to think of an idea on how they can catch up with Johnny and get the Chaos Emerald back.
Luckily, Marine has the answer, "I actually have just the boat to do the job."
Soon, Marine takes them to the docks that are actually outside her village. The boat is a small yellow boat that has a brown stand and a green hood on it. It also has a steering wheel in the front of the boat.
"Ta da! We can launch my pal here, the good ol' SS Marine! Last time, though, I made a few blues, and things went a bit crook, you know? Yeah, but she'll be right, then, won't she, mate? There ain't no one on the Seven Seas who can outrun…" Marine says.
Then shouts, "AHA! Now we've got some gas going!"
The gang feels a bit concerned as Marine walks over to start up her small boat.
"I don't really like the look of this…" Tails says, concerned.
"I'm not sure about it either," Cosmo says.
Marine hops on the boat, but something is wrong and the boat begins to wobble.
Making Marine scream, "Whoa! Yikes!"
"Hey, can't you keep that thing straight?" sonic asks.
"No worries, mates! Really! I've got everything under control 'ere!" Marine says.
Then shouts at the boat, "Holy dooley! Come on, Marine! I'm the one who built you! Stop being so stubborn! Sonic! Tails! Enough with the bludgering! Come 'ere and help me! Wait, me? Show weakness? No drama! Lemme just hit the brakes 'ere and…"
Suddenly, something begins to appear on the water and on the ship.
"Hey, hold on a sec! That's the-!" Tails panics.
"The gas!" Sonic panics. panics.
Eve quickly runs over and grabs Marine by her hand. Then hurries away from the small boat. They all hear a bang and turns to see the boat has exploded and is destroyed.
Seeing what happened to her boat, Marine screams "Ahhh! My... my precious little baby! Look what's become of you!"
And begins to cry, "Ohhhh, what should I do? I can't rebuilt 'er now! There's no way I can fix this!"
Marine continues to cry over her destroyed ship. Eve and the girls kind of feel sorry for her, even the boys.
Tails walks over to Marine and reassures her, "It's okay Marine. Tell you what, why don't you let me build a new ship for you?
"Ohh, it's no use…" Marine wipes the tears from her eyes.
"Hey, trust me! When it comes to building things, Tails is number one!" Sonic says.
"It's true. Tails even build the X Tornado, along with the Blue Typhoon which is a giant airship. He came up with the blue prints and constructed it himself, well we also helped him, but Tails is great with it when it comes to construction and technology," Eve says.
"Yes. Tails made a lot of stuff. I'm sure he can help you," Comos says.
Maria and Jazz nod their heads.
"Yeah! Honestly, I put things like this together all the time!" Tails says.
"You… you really can?" Marine asks.
"Yeah. I'm sure we can find a few things around here to help build a new ship, maybe even better than your old one," Eve says.
"Alright then, Eve, Jazz, Cosmo, and I will go look for supplies. Tails, you and Marine can start working once we find some stuff," Sonic says.
Maria asks, "Can I help Tails and Marine with the ship."
"Sure, if Tails doesn't mind," Eve says.
"I don't mind. Besides, you've been helping me, Sonia, and Sally with some of the tech lately, and you're actually really good with using them," Tails says.
"Well, she does have Grandfather Gerald's intelligence," Eve says.
"Then let's get to work," Sonic says.
With that, Sonic, Eve, and the others begin to search for any supplies. They are able to find some wood, and all different kinds of metal. Tails and Maria are drawing a design for the ship, and with Marine's help, they plan on making a spectacular new boat for Marine, maybe even a ship.
Cosmo and Jazz also found some iron materials on the ground. Eve and Sonic also found some red, blue, yellow, and white color materials on the ground. Eve finds a cloth and uses them to put the materials they found on the cloth, and Eve ties the clothes ends to form a small bag for them to carry.
Back at the docks, the three have finished with the design for the ship. The ship is larger than Marine's boat, it will also have a sail, paddles at the back, and in the inner design, it will have an engine. There are also small blue prints for what looks like water bikes.
"Ripper! They look great! I can't wait to get started on it," Marine says.
"It seems exciting to make a ship and travel across the sea," Maria happily says.
"Now all we need are the wood, metal, and other materials to build it," Tails says.
Just then, Sonic, Eve, Cosmo, and Jazz arrive with bags of materials and Eve is using her Chaos Energy to carry the wood.
"Hey, Marine. We brought you presents," Sonic says.
"Oh my gosh, really?" Marine asks, excited.
"We did, It's no big deal," Eve says.
The group then puts the bags and wood down, Cosmo and Jazz open the small bags they have and open them to reveal the different color materials.
"Hmmm... it looks like we've got Blue Material... Red materials… Yellow Material… Black Material… and also some Iron Material. There are also some wood, metal, and other kinds of Materials," Tails says, looking at the supplies.
Tails says, "With these, I think I can build a new ship, and if you guys can find more, I can build a few water bikes."
"Well, Bob's your uncle! A water bike?! For real?!" Marine screams, surprised.
"Yeah!" Tails says.
"Bewdy! Did you hear that? A water bike! That's pearl! That sounds so cool!" Marine shouts in excitement.
Eve giggles, "Okay Marine, calm down."
The others also begin giggling.
"Yeah, anyhow, mate... Tails! Maria! Let's get going!" Marine says.
"Y-yeah, okay, sure. Just wait for me, Marine!" Tails says.
Maria giggles, "She's funny."
"Oh, boy…" Sonic says, rolling his eyes.
"Well then, we need to get some more supplies and we'll need to get food and other stuff we need for the trip," Eve says.
"Then let's get to work," Sonic says.
Sonic, Eve, and the others begin to work on preparations for their trip out to sea. Sonic uses his super speed to dig up more materials and cut down some more trees to help make the ship. Eve also helps carry the supplies to Tails. Cosmo and Jazz look around as they find some fruit from the trees and bushes for them to eat. Tails is hot at work on using the materials to make the ship. Maria and Marine are with Tails and helping him up with the ship supplies. Everyone is hot at work to finish building and collecting supplies for adventure to find the robot and get the Chaos Emerald back. Time has gone by, and everyone is looking at a large ship before them.
The ship is really big that has blue, red, yellow, and brown like making at the front and side, including silver and gold materials that help the bow of the ship, the figurehead looks like a bird with its wings spread out. It also has a few paddles at the back and some engines as well.
Tails announces, "Everyone, I'm happy to say that the Ocean Tornado is now complete."
"Wow, this ship's keen! Good on ya, Tails!" Marine says, excited.
Tails blushes, "He he... You like it?"
"It's amazing that you can make stuff like this out of Materials," Sonic says.
"Once again Tails, you manage to amaze us," Eve says.
"It reminds me of the Blue Typhoon, but it's a sailing ship," Cosmo says.
"Thanks guys. This is the first time I've seen this technology that combines jewels and metals. But once you get the hang of it, it's not that difficult. And there's all kinds of different materials, too. I'm glad we're able to find so many materials to make the ship, and I also have another surprise for both you, Sonic and Eve," Tails says.
"What's the surprise?" Eve asks.
The gang walks on the plank and into the desk of the ship. Tails lead them down the stairs and show them three water bikes: one blue and yellow, the second black and red, and the last one is yellow and white.
"These are the Wave Cycle. We only have enough extra material to make three of them," Tails says.
"They're amazing, Tails. They'll be useful," Sonic says.
"They look so cool," Eve says.
"And if we collect different Materials, we'll be able to head further and further out," Sonic says.
"Yeah. We'll be able to make all kinds of stuff to help out with our trip," Eve says.
"We also got some food and other stuff for the trip," Cosmo says.
"Well then. If we have enough with the chinwagging, et's give it a whirl, eh?" Marine says, excited.
"I wonder where we should go first," Maria replies.
"How about that Island over there," Marine says, pointing ahead.
Tails turns to where Marine is pointing, "That island?"
The group looks ahead to see a large island that is covered in trees and plants.
"Yeah, s'right! I grew up always scratchin' my head over what's on that there island. It's the perfect starting point for my adventures!" Marine says.
"It's that island to the west of here, right?" Tails asks.
"Yep," Marine says.
"Well, it's not that far, so it'll be a good test run for the water bikes as well," Sonic says.
"Right! Maybe there'll be some new Material to find, too!" Tails says.
"Then let's get going. We might be able to find a clue to where Johnny is," Eve says.
"Here begin the adventures of Captain Marine! Orright! I can't wait!" Marine happily says.
"Alright everyone, let's go," Sonic says.
On the deck of the ship, Marine who is at the wheel calls out, "Alright everyone, let's get ready to set sail. Raise the anchor!"
"Okay Marine," Cosmo says.
She presses a button on a large wheel with a chain, and it rolls up the anchor.
"Raise the sails," Marine says.
Tails works on the controls and has the sails raised up.
"And check on our crew mates on the bikes," Marine says.
Maria looks over to see Sonic and Eve are on their Water Cyclone.
"Are you guys okay there?" Maria asks.
"We're fine," Eve says.
"And we're ready to set sails," Sonic says.
"Alright everyone, adventures await! Let's go after that robot pirate and get the emerald back!" Marine says.
The ship soon begins to move back and once away from the docks, the ship moves forward.
Sonic turns to Eve, "Ready to put these bikes to the test?"
"You know it, bro," Eve says.
The two hedgehogs start the engine on their bikes and begin to ride them out to sea with the Ocean Tornado. Their adventures out to sea and to find the Chaos Emerald has begun. Who knows what adventures they'll have out to sea.
