AN: Hello everyone, hope ya'll are having a great weekend. We've been on vacation the last days and able to get this next chapter out. We hope you enjoy the continued adventure of Meagan and Obi-Wan's capture and Anakin and company dealing with it. However, as we are writing it, it is getting longer than we thought so the chapters will probably be longer than normal. This arc more than likely be at least several more chapters but we will have to see exactly how it all turns out. Thanks again for everyone who has recently favorited, reviewed or read our story lately. We always appreciate ya'lls support. Thanks again and enjoy!

Chapter One Hundred and Three

**Meagan's Point of View**

Somehow Obi-Wan managed to direct the escape pod away from Ventress' falling ship, heading directly toward the planet below us. I could tell he didn't have as much control as he would have liked but he skillfully kept us somewhat safe.

"Meagan, strap in and hold on." His voice was nearly grim as we headed downward.

I made sure the straps were as tight as they could go before grapping a hold of the bar to the side. I took a deep breath.

"Once we land, we will need to clear the area as fast as we can." Obi-Wan said, reaching forward to enter something into the consul in front of him. "I do not want to be in this pod when the ship crashes."

I could only imagine the smoke, flames and debris that could bury us alive. I closed my eyes, taking another deep breath, wondering not for the first time, if we would still survive, even if we had already escaped from Ventress.

"It is going to be okay, Meagan. " He said, calmly, quietly but still completely focused on the task at hand.

"I hope so." I took a stronger hold on the bar, seeing the ground, almost rising up to meet us.

The landing was not easy but we did not exactly crash either, though my body, even with the safety restraints and holding on, was jerked around, making me feel ill. Within mere seconds of the ship stopping, Obi-Wan was out of his seat, unbuckling my restraints and pulling me up. "Hurry."

He quickly picked up the survival bag we found and pushed his way through the exit, pulling me along behind him. We landed in a forest, the terrain around us rough with bushes, trees, and their roots. At least it might give us good cover to hide in, but it would make escaping the area more difficult.

"Meagan, move." Obi-Wan was pulling me along behind him, my body still shaking and nearly ill from the landing, not quite wanting to cooperate.

I glanced upwards to see Ventress' ship quickly heading downwards, seemingly right at us, flames already flaring out of it. Fear spiraled through me as I finally managed to run a bit faster. My lungs felt like they were on fire, my stomach turning, bile nearly rising into my throat.

"Obi-Wan…." With the roar of a ship coming, crashing or not, I am not sure how he heard me, but he did. Without losing more than a second of time, he swept me into his arms, holding me close as he began to run again, somehow even faster this time. I wrapped my arms around his neck, hanging on tightly, somehow keeping myself from becoming ill.

The roar grew louder, the stench of smoke filling the air, making it harder to draw breath.

"Meagan duck." I did as my husband said as debris began to be seen, coming much closer to us than either of us liked.

However, as the ship crashed, the ground shaking, my husband barely keeping his balance, had managed to get us out of the danger zone, the flames dancing near us, but not enough to engulf us. I breathed a sigh of relief as Obi-Wan set me down.

To which I nearly immediately became ill. Thankfully it didn't last long as Obi-Wan rubbed my back comfortingly before handing me the small container of water, telling me to take a few sips. I was relatively surprised he actually managed to hang on to that bag, which might very well save our lives.

"If there were any droids or Ventress herself got into an escape pod, I do not want them finding us." Obi-Wan said, looking upwards before towards the crash site, answering my question about their fight. "We need to keep moving a little faster."

I nodded, wondering if I would be able to keep up but once again he lifted me in his arms and started running. He must have went another mile or two before he stopped and set me down. Thankfully the smell of smoke was not as strong and we were much safer from any remaining affects from the crashed ship. But he still seemed almost anxious to still get as far away as we could and we walked this time though, but quickly through the woods for another while before he found an outcropping of rocks, low to the ground, that would provide cover from hopefully any wild animals as well as any passing droid patrols.

"Stay here." He instructed me as he headed inside the almost cave like structure before calling me in. "There might be a few bugs but no larger animal is nesting here at the moment. We can rest for a bit."

Crouching low, I followed the sound of his voice, into the dark. We settled a few meters back, where we were hidden from any prying eyes. We drank a few sips of the water and shared a protein cube, wanting to keep our meager supplies for as long as we could. He still had not shared with me how we were going to get home, if we could get home.

"What now?" I whispered into the darkness, placing my head onto his shoulder, needing to feel how close he was, that I was safe with him.

"It's too dangerous to try contacting Anakin or any of our other Republic Forces this far behind enemy lines. Ventress was injured but alive when I left her and I am not sure if she recovered enough to make it off ship in time. If she did, she will know we more than likely escaped and will search for us. Or if she didn't and when she doesn't check in, Dooku may come looking for us and for Ventress." He paused, seemingly not quite sure what else to say.

We had nowhere to go, no way to contact Republic forces and we were more than likely deep in Separatist territory. I brushed back the sudden tears, wondering if we only survived that crash to starve on some forsaken planet, if we could survive, if this baby would ever know life beyond my womb, if Sasha would become an orphan.

I felt Obi-Wan kiss my temple, trying to comfort me, still obviously trying to think of way out of this. I sighed, taking the little comfort he gave me and closing my eyes, tried to gather the strength I knew we would soon need.

Then it suddenly came to me. Dalton Kain, Obi-Wan's father. If anyone, besides Anakin that is, could rescue us, it would be him. Being an ordinary citizen, he could get through and get us back to safer space. He would come to, there was no doubt of that. I would just have to convince my husband of that.

"I know someone who can get us out of here." I spoke several minutes later, convinced this was the right course, but not sure if I should tell Obi-Wan why I was making this suggestion.

"Meagan, honey, I know you have a lot of friends in different places across the galaxy." He smiled slightly as much as I could see that is. "But I doubt they would have the resources or the abilities to get behind Separatists lines."

"There is one that can." I watched him for a long moment before continuing on. "Do you remember Dalton Kain?"

I watched as my husband stared at me, in nearly complete disbelief before finding his voice after several tense moments of utter silence. "No, absolutely not." Obi-Wan shook his head. "I do not trust him."

"Well, I do." I told him, hoping I could convince him of it, without revealing the truth without Dalton's permission.

"Meagan, I know you always try to see the best in everyone." Obi-Wan reached out and squeezed my hand. "But this is a perilous situation and I do not think he is the answer."

"I know you do not trust him, but I do." He was about to protest, but I placed a finger over his mouth and then continued. "I have a very good reason for trusting him and I am afraid I can't explain everything now, but at the very least can you trust me? I would not contact anyone who I thought would hurt us or the baby."

He stared at me again for a very long time before finally agreeing. I was not sure if it was because he decided to trust me or if it was because we had no other choice or maybe it was a little of both. But knowing we had no time to waste as our lives were at stake, I started searching through my comlink where I stored Dalton's information.

My hands were nearly shaking as I composed a message to send him. Obi-Wan did not want me to contact him with a visual, thinking a coded text message would be safer.

"Are you sure that is what you want to send?" He asked as he looked over my shoulder to see what I was working on as he told me what planet to tell Dalton.

I nodded. "He will understand it." I knew contacting him this way was the right action but my stomach was in knots. I finally sent it, praying this would work.

It was sometime later that my comlink started signaling that there was an incoming message. Hands still shaking, I activated the message. I gave a long sigh of relief. Dalton understood the message and was responding in the same code.

"He's coming." I glanced up as I responded to his message, seeing my husband trying to hide his anxiousness.

"Very well." He said, his voice calm, much more so than I was. "We will just have to stay hidden till he gets here."

"He says he is not very far away." I roughly translated the message.

Obi-Wan nodded. "Where are we meeting him? It will be risky to move too far so I don't want to move out into the open. "

"Is there a small village or town nearby where we both can get to?" I asked before sending another message.

Obi-Wan contemplated that, stretching into the Force, feeling things out. "Let's go."

"Where are we going?" I asked him as he helped me to my feet. "What should I tell Dalton?"

"Not sure and don't tell him anything at the moment." With that he took my hand and we started to make our way through the trees. "Stay close."

I nodded, keeping quiet and close to his side.

**Anakin's Point of View**

Once we landed on Coruscant, Ahsoka and I checked in with the Council but soon discovered there was nothing new, no ransom notes, no communication from the Separatists or anything of that nature. However, we were told clone intelligence was due to check-in in a few more hours, so we might know more then. As soon as we had more information and a plan, I was going after them.

"Does Sasha know her parents are missing?" I asked Masters Yoda and Windu as we left the Council rooms and the other Masters had already left.

The two exchanged glances before Master Windu answered. "Yes, she hasn't sensed anything, so I believe they are alive, at least for now."

That was a relief, but depending on Dooku's plans they might not last much longer. "How is she doing?"

"Upset she is, but be okay she will be." Master Yoda said. "Taking her you are?"

I nodded.

"I am not sure if her leaving the Temple right now would be such a good idea." Master Windu started out. "Without knowing Dooku's plans, she would be vulnerable."

"Padme's security is top notch and Ahsoka can also come home with us and we will bring Sasha to her clan every day." I glanced from one to the other before speaking again. "I promised Obi-Wan if anything happened to him or Meagan, I would take care of her. I intend to keep it."

"Very well." The two agreed before we went separate ways. "Be in touch with further plans, we will."

"Thank you Masters." I turned to Ahsoka. "I am going to find Sasha and talk with her. I hope….."

"It's okay Master." Ahsoka started out before I even finished. "I do not mind staying with you and Padme. I think it will be better for all of us."

I nodded, knowing she was still hurting as much as I was.

"I will go pack so I can keep some stuff at your place." With that she headed down the hallway.

I sighed before heading the other direction, for where I knew Sasha would be.

"Uncle Anakin." Sasha threw herself at me, arms wrapping around my legs after I entered the creche. "Did you find mummy and daddy?"

I knelt down, unwrapping her arms from around me. "Not yet Sasha." At this her face completely fell. I sat down, pulling her into my lap. "But hopefully we will know more soon."

Sasha buried her face in my chest, her small body trembling slightly. "I miss them."

"I know you do, so do I." I leaned down, kissing the top of her head. "It's going to be okay."

"What's going to happen to me?" She asked after several minutes of silence.

"If you would like, you can come home with me and Ahsoka or you can stay with your clan tonight. We would bring you to your clan just as your parents do in the mornings." She was silent for long moments so I continued on. "You will always have a home with your Aunt Padme and me, always. You will always have us."

"Promise?" Her voice was quiet, but calm.

"I promise." Taking that as an answer, I suggested. "Why don't you go pack a few things to take with you? I will be along in a minute to help."

She nodded and gave me a hug before getting up and headed toward their sleeping areas. Once she was gone, I pulled out my comlink, then called my wife.

I quickly informed her what was going on. She was obviously shocked and scared as the rest of us were, but pulled it together. "Oh, Anakin what are you going to do?"

I sighed. "Once we know more, I will certainly be going after them but I will be staying here for the moment. I am bringing Sasha and Ahsoka home with me."

"Of course, I am about to leave the office and can make sure the beds in the spare rooms are made up and then maybe order in something for dinner." She said, obviously trying to sound cheerful.

I gave her a grateful smile. "Thank you. I'd better make sure Sasha is getting her things packed."

"I will see you soon then." With that the transmission ended and I went to find my niece.

Dinner that night was a quiet affair, Padme and I trying to get both girls to eat, but with everything going on, none of us felt like eating. While Padme was getting Sasha ready for bed, Master Windu commed, telling me there wasn't anything new, only the rumors of some sort of ship going down on a Separatist world but without any details it would be impossible to know if that was the same ship Obi-Wan and Meagan were on. Clone intelligence was still investigating and would pass anything on they discovered as they learned it.

Once the conversation was over, I saw Ahsoka meditating in the main area and decided to let her be for the moment. I poked my head into one of the spare rooms and found Padme reading Sasha a bed time story and she was just about asleep.

Once the story was completed, I stepped into the room, kissing her goodnight. "I love you my little Jedi." She managed a sleepy smile. "Your Aunt and I will be right next door if you need anything, okay?"

"Okay."

I gently pushed a few curls off her face. "Sleep well."

"Goodnight sweetheart." Padme leaned over, kissing her cheek. "We will see you tomorrow."

Sasha nodded, closing her eyes. Padme and I left the room, turning off the lights as we left. Wanting to be out of earshot of both children, we stepped into the kitchen. I pulled my wife close to me, needing her just as much as she needed to hold me.

"Oh Anakin, that poor little girl." Padme had started crying but managed to bring it under control after a few minutes. "Did the Masters learn anything?"

"Not much." I gave her the latest update. "I will start working on it tomorrow, maybe something new will come up by then."

Padme pulled back, then looked up at me. "What are the chances of Meagan and Obi-Wan surviving this?"

I gave a deep sigh. "I don't know. It all depends on what Dooku's plans are. Ventress wouldn't have done anything to them without his permission, at least I don't think so." I paused, my mind whirling with all the possibilities. "But Obi-Wan is smart, he may find a way to outsmart her and escape somehow."

Padme nodded, reaching up to place a hand gently on my face. "I hope so. How are you holding up?"

Another deep sigh. "As well as can be. I just hope they can hold on long enough so we can find them. I don't want to think about life without them. I wouldn't be the man I am without either of them."

Padme pulled me close as I felt a few tears leak down, missing Obi-Wan and Meagan very much at the moment. "I've been worrying about the baby too, even if they escape, it might not survive."

I nearly shuddered at the thought, for Obi-Wan and Meagan to survive this ordeal but not their unborn child would be more tragic than anything and it would hurt both of them very deeply. Nearly chocking on a sob, I held my wife close, glad she was home, relieved we each had someone to grieve with, we could help each other through this, so we could stay strong for Sasha and Ahsoka. It was some moments later I brought my emotions under control and managed to speak.

"Padme, I know neither of us want to dwell on if they will not survive, but it is a possibility." I pulled back long minutes later and watched as she wiped her eyes. "If neither of them come home, Sasha would become ours. I promised Obi-Wan…."

Padme didn't even let me finish before squeezing my shoulder. "Of course, we would love and raise her as our own."

I kissed her gently before we went to check on Ahsoka. Padme hugged her goodnight before she headed into her own room as I decided to check on Sasha.

"Come on, Anakin." Padme pulled on my arm after I found Sasha still sleeping. "I think we both could use some rest."

I didn't protest, allowing her to lead me into our room. We wrapped our arms around each other, sharing in the grief as we wept for each other, our missing friends and a little girl missing her parents.

**Meagan's Point of View**

For the next while, we made our way through the rocks and trees, not hearing much except the sounds of small creatures scurrying around for food. At one point, Obi-Wan climbed a tree, at least enough to tell where we could go.

"Not too much further." He told me as I leaned against the tree, feeling very drained and tired. "Are you alright?"

I nodded, managing a small smile. "I'll be okay."

When we finally reached a clearing, a rather small one, but felt it large enough for a ship to land, but close enough to the thicker woods for cover, Obi-Wan turned to me. "Send him these coordinates. I know the village is not far off but I think that is where they might start searching for us."

"Would Dooku think anyone survived the crash?" I asked after sending the message.

"I think he would at least come to investigate or send someone else here to do it for him." Obi-Wan looking rather thoughtful as we tried to make ourselves comfortable in a grove of trees where we would be well hidden.

Obi-Wan kept alert, watching for anything that would allude to danger as I kept quiet behind him trying not to fall to pieces. I had been in dangerous situations before, why was I falling apart now? Though as I angrily swiped at the tears, I knew why, hormones. When I needed to be clear headed, I could not seem to think straight.

A couple hours passed and while we had not been close to any Separatist, there was obviously some on the planet as we did, from a distance, see a few ships going and coming.

"More supply ships and such." Obi-Wan commented watching them closely. "I do not think they are much to worry about yet. Though I have no idea if Dooku or anyone else is here or on the other side of the planet. Have you heard from him again?"

"No, I expect he will not…" As I was speaking, my comlink blinked just once. It was enough. "He's here."

Within minutes the roar of the ship was heard. My heart leapt within me, we were saved but it soon dropped into my stomach as the sounds of clanking droids was heard. A lot of droids. Dooku must be searching for any survivors.

"Get to the ship, when I tell you to." Obi-Wan said over the roar of the ship as it was shooting at the droids. "I will cause a distraction."

With that Obi-Wan walked out, lighting his saber, then taking the droids on, distracting them from firing back on the ship as Dalton weaved around.

I watched for a moment, slowly creping out around the brush and the trees, ready to make a run. Before Obi-Wan could tell me, seeing Dalton coming back around closer to me, the droids rather distracted by the almost crazy antics of my husband, I made a run for it.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I made it there safely, heading up the gangplank, then towards the cockpit as the ship swung around again, this time towards Obi-Wan.

"Tell him to get moving." I heard Obi-Wan call as I spied Dalton at the controls. "I'm on board."

"We are both here, go." I called out, not even bothering to say hello first.

He turned only slightly, giving me a rather sarcastic grin, but he was already pulling away. "Hello to you too."

I could not help but laugh as Obi-Wan came up from behind me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Are you alright?"

I nodded as the ship began to rise higher and we could clearly see several warships in the vicinity. Would this ever be over?

"Meagan strap in, this is going to be quite a ride." Dalton then turned to his son, who still did not realize who had just saved our lives. "Care to lend a hand?"

Obi-Wan situated himself in the co-pilots seat as I settled down behind him, strapping in.

I soon found myself holding my breath as the two men flew through the Separatists ships, avoiding the fire that was being shot at us. Obviously what remained of the droids on planet reported to their ships that we escaped or whoever was in charge, more than likely Dooku, was shooting at all possibilities. Despite our lives being at risk, I couldn't help but admire Dalton. He was calm and collected, flew remarkably well in tense situations but yet there was a bit of defiance in his pose, a bit of recklessness in his actions. It sounded like someone else I knew and I suddenly realized my husband's flying talent, despite him stating he hated flying, did not come only through the Force but also rather naturally.

"We can't go there." I heard Obi-Wan protest, almost sounding upset, tearing me away from my thoughts as I had not been following their conversation, but it must have been about hyperdrive coordinates. "It's nothing but a hive of scum and villainy."

Dalton laughed, flying in a crazy formation that made my stomach turn, but luckily avoided all fire power. "Oh I know its clientele but it's not run by Separatist and I can get in and get out without many knowing who my passengers are."

Obi-Wan shook his head. "I still do not like this."

Dalton shook his head. "We are in Separatist territory and we have to stop to get fuel. It's either a mob run planet or a Separatist one."

Obi-Wan saw at least some wisdom in this. "Very well."

Dalton managed to steer us clear of the ships, they finished plotting a course and we all sighed in relief as the stars turned blurry. He looked about to speak but Obi-Wan cut him off.

"Meagan needs to get some rest, is there a….."

"Actually I am starved." I put in, knowing I could use some sleep but my empty stomach was long past protesting, despite a few bites of a protein cube.

Dalton motioned backwards. "The gallery is well stocked, so help yourselves."

Obi-Wan got up before helping me up and together we left the cockpit. I could feel nothing but relief. Though I knew this was more than likely not over and we were not out of the woods yet, we at least had a ship and were no longer in captivity.

As we neared the gallery, Obi-Wan slipped an arm around me. "Are you sure you are okay?"

I managed a nod.

He stopped as the door slid open in front of us. "Meagan, this has been a very long day with little food or water and a lot of stress. "

Before he could continue as I started to search through the cabinets and cooling unit, finding things to eat. "The baby and I are made of sterner stuff. We'll be fine."

He still did not look convinced and made me sit down while he finished with the food. We ate quietly, drinking plenty of water. I watched rather sleepily as Obi-Wan cleaned up the small kitchen before reaching for me. We made our way to the other quarters and settled in. I only took off my shoes before settling into the cot, Obi-Wan climbing up next to me. His arms were warm and strong around me and I took great comfort from him, the baby still feeling strong within. I felt a few tears leak down my face, we had escaped and survived together. Exhaustion soon set in and with Obi-Wan soothing me over our bond, I fell into a deep sleep.

QUOTE: In honor of the start of College Football season, from a really good movie: Remember the Titans. Such a good movie. Enjoy:

Coach Yoast: "All right, now, I don't want them to gain another yard! You blitz….all…..night. If they cross the line of scrimmage, I'm gonna take every last one of you out! You make sure they remember forever, the night they played the Titans."

Defense cheers.

Coast Yoast: "Leave no doubt!"

AN: PrettyRecklessLaura: Glad you are enjoying our story so far and hope you stay tuned to see what happens next. Hope you liked this chapter. Thanks again and have a great week.

PurpleNightwing: Yes, we are in the middle of the Clone Wars. Our version of the movie Attack of the Clones runs from chapter 64 to 69/70. From there on out, the chapters are concerning the clone wars. We should note that our version of the Clone Wars is not directly following the animated movie or tv show or the comics or novels. We have taken characters or certain story arcs from those sources and integrated them into ideas we already had about our story. With the addition of Meagan and Sasha many of the arcs from the tv show have been altered to fit into our particular story line. I hope that explains things better for you. Thanks again for reading our story and hope you are enjoying it anyway!

ColdOnePaul: Thank you, things are starting to calm down a little, so it is getting better for both of us. Anyway, thank you for your thoughts of us and our story, we always appreciate it.
