Valor smiled at her, "I know, I figured it out."
"When?"
"A few days back. I didn't know when to tell you."
Supergirl gave a grin, "So . . . now that the secret's out, what didyou want to say?"
"Well, can we hang out? Not as Valor and Supergirl, or as Mike Matthews and Kara Danvers, but as our true selves: Kara Zor-El and Mon-El."
Supergirl gave him a hug, "I wouldn't mind."
~~~~~~~~
Kara walked onto the street, keeping her glasses on in case anyone recognised her secret identity.
She stepped into the same bar that they had met for the first time, unaware of each other's identities.
Alex had the place cleared so the duo could have their own private time, and Kara silently crept behind the man as his back was turned, "BOO!"
"Kara! Why . . . would you do that?"
"I'm here!" Kara said, removing her lead-lined glasses and placing them into her case.
"Hey, Mon-El?"
"Yeah?"
"How much lead is considered to be 'not lethal' to a Daxamite?"
"What's with the random question?"
"I don't know . . . I guess I just kinda missed you, and now that we're on Earth, I want to know about my childhood pal that I had forgotten about," Kara explained, catching her breath.
"Well, I guess that's alright," Mon-El sat down opposite the Kryptonian girl. "Well, lead in trace amounts are not really effective in taking down a Daxamite, and if lead is coated with something else, we'd be not too affected. But say a normal stick made of lead would cause enough damage and weaken us - possibly to the point where we practically become as powerless as we were back on our home planet."
Kara nodded. Lead wasn't lethal to her, but Kryptonite was.
"What about you? What is the effects of Kryptonite on a Kryptonian like you?"
"W-well," Kara started, "There are many sorts of Kryptonite, and I won't go into too much detail about them all, but if you're asking me about the one that weakens Kryptonians, that would be green Kryptonite. Even a little would be enough to weaken us, imagine what it'd be like if there is a large amount of Kryptonite."
"H-have you ever been hurt to that extent . . . ?"
Kara nodded gravely, "Of course I have. Even Kal couldn't bear it."
"Kal . . . is here?"
"Yeah. He's Superman. You know, the Man of Steel?"
"O-oh. Cool. Why didn't I figure thatout? But,isn't Superman . . . older than you? Wasn't Kal-El your youngercousin?"
Kara nodded uneasily, "He is still younger than me. It's just . . . physically, he's twelve years older than me. Kryptonians age at a much slower age than humans, after all. And we didget trapped in the Phantom Zone. Time never passes there, remember?"
Suddenly, Kara made a strange face, and laughed, "It's like the 'Super' name is getting so overused. What's next? Superwoman? Superboy? Superlass? Superlad?"
Mon-El simply laughed, "You Kryptonians are still strange."
An awkward pause filled the room. Kara shifted uncomfortably, and opened her mouth to break the silence.
"Oh! Remember when you were still a spoiled brat?"
"Seriously?"
"You barged into the bathroom without thanking me for waking you up, Mon-El."
"If memory serves, you lied to me to get in."
"I did nothing of the sort . . . I simply stated the obvious."
"Well, it wasn't obvious to me, Kara Zor-El."
She laughed, it was so good having Mon-El back. He could understand her. An alien on a strange planet . . .
"So, Kara . . . tell me about . . . how . . . you got to earth."
"Did I not tell you this before?"
He shook his head. "No, you told me the general gist of the story, but never the actual thing."
"Okay, fine," Kara said as she spun her tale, "Months after I had met you, the Prince of Daxam, our planet fell into a state of chaos. The pressure building up in our uranium core caused a surge of energy, which eventually lead to the explosion. Our moon was destroyed, raining down onto your planet, turning Daxam into a wasteland. But the planet pieces that exploded became the radioactive Kryptonite that we know of today.
"My family had an idea to save our kind. My cousin, Kal-El was sent in a Kryptonian pod to Earth. My path was to follow his. He, obviously, arrived here without a hitch. I, on the other hand, was knocked into the Phantom Zone, a place where time never passes, and was sleeping there - for 25 years. I don't know how my pod got free, but it did. Finally, I made it to Earth, but my cousin had already grown up and become Superman. He rescued me, and brought me to the Danvers family."
"My story is pretty much identical to yours, except that it was on Daxam, getting destroyed by Krypton's mess, I was sent here, for my safety. I got knocked into the Phantom Zone, into the prison, Krypton'sprison, Fort Rozz."
"Whoa," Kara gasped, "Now that I think of it, I think the alien I chased down a few years back was you. Daxamite. Brown hair. Blue eyes. Mike Matthews. I think we mistook you for an evil alien because your pod was found inside of Fort Rozz. I'm so glad I never caught you, though."
"I flew to National City from Florida because I wanted to get my foster parents something. Something that could not be found there."
"You looked verysuspicious."
He chucked, "I guess I did look kinda shifty."
"Pack some of the food. Let's go to the nearby park."
"Are you . . . not the least bit concerned that people may recognise you?"
"That park's usually empty anyway, somehow even more so during the weekday."
"Okay then, let's go."
~~~~~~~~
At the park, Mon-El laid out a small picnic mat, in an emptier area than most other places.
"I really missed you, you know."
"Oh, really? I couldn't tell."
"Don't joke around! I'm being serious!" Kara punched his arm playfully.
Mon-El put his hands up, and that made Kara laugh. She looked at him.
"So . . . you mentioned that you had fallen for a Kryptonian girl. Who was it?" Kara lay down on the mat and propped on an arm.
"Well, I . . . she . . . "
"You don't have to answer if you're uncomfortable."
"Yeah . . . I really don't."
"Mon-El, I really thought that we would be able to communicate. What's happening here?" Kara nervously bit into a sandwich.
"W-what?"
He could feel his cheeks burning up, and picked up the bottle, gulping down some water. "Kara, I honestly want to just spend some time with you . . . it's just been a while . . . I'm not sure what to say."
"Well, um, what were the villains that you had faced before? Villains that I had not seen, or possibly heard of before."
"W-well, I have faced certain villains before. Ever heard of Catastrophe?"
"No . . . "
"He has the power to cause disasters to befall people. Honestly, he was a difficult villain to take down. He gave us all so many problems - from sicknesses to the loss of control of our powers."
"Okay . . . interesting . . . "
"Next question," Mon-El grinned evilly towards Kara. "What powers do you really have?"
"I have laser vision, freeze breath, super-strength, I'm bulletproof, and I also have super-speed, as well as the ability to fly. I can have X-ray vision, and have an uncanny range of hearing. I'm not as good as Kal, though . . . he has Kryptonian telepathy."
"Lucky him . . . "
"Okay, next question - have you ever thought about seeing your home world again?"
"Daxam? Of course I have. I really miss my planet, my parents . . . " Mon-El trailed off, his eyes beginning to wander, "What about you?"
"I have. Argo City, where I lived, was on the continent of Lurvan. It was one of the three principal city-states located there, the other two being Kryptonopolis and Kandor. I had always wanted to see the other principal city-states, but . . . I never got the chance to."
"Daxam was never divided into continents. I mean, the land masses were separated, but we were all one people across the planet."
Kara smiled as she hugged the Daxamite. "I remember when we were kids - you used to make me angry all the time. I never understood why . . . "
Just then, a tall, muscular man walked by them, and he looked at them, "Hey, I'm new to this town and I . . . well, don't really know howto get to this place."
Kara looked at the place he pointed on his phone, and pointed, "Walk three blocks down and turn right after that. You should have reached by then."
"Thanks," he winked at the Kryptonian, "My name is Thomas Brent, by the way, but my friends call me Tom. I hope to see you around sometime."
Kara just returned a nervous smile. Mon-El looked disgusted.
After he left, Kara turned to Mon-El, "So, anyway . . . I have something to tell you, Mon-El."
He looked at her, "What is it, Kara?"
"I-I like you!"

[A/N: I really don't know what I'm writing here . . . but I hope you enjoy! I felt like ending the story soon, but people didn't want me to and I just did a little more research into the comics and . . . well, I had an idea to keep it going! Hope you enjoyed!]
