Although Tim said Damian's behavior was nothing to worry about Dick couldn't help but feel otherwise. He didn't use to be this standoffish.

He was when they first met, sure. It took months just for Damian to accept a gentle touch without pulling a knife. Not that he blamed the kid. He may not know much about his life with the league then, barely so now, but the knowledge of him being raised by Ra's al Ghul and his legion was enough to understand Damian's mistrust.

Dick believed they got passed his detachment issues during their two years as Gotham's fabled dynamic duo, however, Damian's conduct proves him wrong.

The possibilities for Damian's gradual change picked at Dick's mind in the early morning hours after patrol or the rare slow night. His mind scrambled for a logical explanation every time he saw a new bruise. He wants to believe Damian when he says 'I fell' or 'I failed to see', he wanted to see his lies as harmless teen angst.

Only see a boy running the halls with his dog and getting too caught up in the moment to notice the things around him, hitting the wall on sharp turns, or tripping on tables and carpet. He wanted to believe that, he truly did.

But his sinking stomach always kept him from feeding into the boy's fabrications. He wasn't oblivious to his youngest brother's changes throughout the years and Dick believes it had something to do with his absence. At least in part. And although a week can't compensate for all their lost time it can help mend their strained bond... hopefully.

Knock knock. "Hey, Dames. It's me."

Dick heard ruffling and footsteps before Damian's door opened a crack, just enough for him to see half of the ex-assassin's remote expression.

"What?"

"I know it's late and you've got somewhere to be tomorrow but I was thinking we could have a movie night. We could watch Lilo Stitch, your favorite." Dick says with a smile. "I invited the other Robins over, Jay, Tim, and Steph are waiting downstairs. Wanna come to join?"

"No."

Damian tried to close the door with his immediate rejection but Dick wedges his foot inside. Damian glares. "Remove your foot, Grayson."

"Please come, Dami." He pouted.

"I do not wish to participate. Now remove your foot and leave me alone."

Dick frowned and sighed. Alright, we'll do it the hard way. "I didn't want to have to do this but."

"Hey!" Damian shouted as Dick forced the door open and picked him up, tossing the teen over his shoulder.

He's still so light. That thought concerned Dick but also had him smiling at the memories of their Batman and Robin days. Dick would pick up or carry Damian and he would fight to get out of his arms (if he wasn't too tired).

It reminded Dick of an alley cat he fed during his time as Robin, she was wary at first but eventually warmed up to him. He started bringing her food and in exchange, she'd begrudgingly let him pet her. He was never able to hold her without a fight tho. Damian and Carla truly have a lot in common.

"Release me at once Grayson! I am too old to be treated like a child!"

"I got all your favorites tonight," Dick said, ignoring Damian's struggles protests, and threats. "We're starting with your top five Disney favorites, then we can watch your least complained about horror and mystery movies. I picked out some films the others appreciated and I thought you'd like. Stephanie made bowls of popcorn and Tim and Jason brought plenty of pop and snacks."

Dick continued about how he planned tonight after Damian left lunch as he carried Damian into the theater room, the teen still objecting.

"Grayson!" He gave a final squawk as Dick plopped down on the soft cushion of the large theater seat. He shifts Damian on his lap and wraps his arms around his waist like a seat belt.

Damian struggled despite knowing he wouldn't be able to free himself before going slack. He crossed his arms and made his 'I'm not pouting' angry cat face that Dick adored.

Now that everyone was here and snacks and drinks had already been distributed they started the movie.

The first movie was Lilo Stitch, it was once Damian's least hated Disney film. He could relate to the alien. Stitch was much like him and he was able to find others who didn't hate his existence. He got a family that wouldn't leave him behind.

That was the same thing Damian thought too. He had begun to think he had a family back when he was living in the penthouse with Dick and Alfred. He believed Dick when he promised he would be there for him. That he wouldn't leave him.

But Dick is a fraud and liar. He left the first chance he got. The first time his father beat him so bad he couldn't move Dick wasn't there to stop Bruce from doing it again or help Damian up from his puddle of blood on the cold floor of the Batcave.

Damian couldn't watch Lilo Stitch with enjoyment anymore because his family left him behind. Now the movie only gave him bitter memories.

He preferred the next movie. Aladdin was less of a reminder of his abandonment. Aladdin was one of Damian's favorites because it resembled his homeland, Nanda Parbat.

After Mulan and Rise of the guardians, Damian was getting tired. His eyelids got too heavy after they started horror movies and he fell asleep against Dick's chest.

Dick didn't notice until he felt he needed to relieve himself. He was going to leave Damian in his seat while he left but didn't when realizing he was asleep.

Instead, he shifted so Damian was hanging on to him like a baby monkey.

This was a golden opportunity. Dick could count on one hand the times he saw Damian fall asleep around other people. And the only reasons for that were because of outside elements such as drugs, injury, or blood loss.

On his own, Damian had never fallen asleep with anyone besides Dick or Alfred. Back at the penthouse when they'd have Saturday movie nights Damian would always drop like this and Dick would always carry him to his bed where he'd steal cuddles.

How could he pass up such a great opportunity to reenact the old days?

After telling the others he was going to sleep Dick carried Damian to where he was staying this week.

He tried not to disturb Damian's rest to the best of his abilities as he walked upstairs and entered his room. Once inside Dick gently laid Damian down on top of the covers.

After using the restroom attached to his room Dick came back to tuck him and Damian under the covers stopping when he noticed something.

It was Damian's feet. Dick took a closer look and saw they were burned. From cigarettes, it looked like.

Who... Dick's eyes narrowed. Who did this to my little brother?
