A/N: The time in which Azure had ended up teleporting away from the Hunter x Hunter world is some time after the anime finishes up when Gon, Killua, including Azure in this story end up splitting up and going their separate ways. Finally, Riolu won't be evolving into Lucario so that he can attain Mega Evolution. However, there will be something special in store for Riolu down the line, I won't spoil anything though. Want to keep it a secret until then.

[Oh man, it's been way too easy.]

"Well, the opponents we've been facing so far haven't been too strong as of right now. Though, you shouldn't let your guard down until it's over." Azure responded as they were now sitting in the lobby waiting room within the building that the battle tournament was taking place as Riolu as laying down on his back on the couch next to Azure.

[I haven't even used my Nen yet! I hope this final opponent of ours will give us a challenge!] Riolu complained as he rolled over onto his stomach as Azure rolled his eyes at the pokemon. Azure had very much learnt that Riolu was a battle maniac and wanted to fight against strong opponents. Kind of like Hisoka.

Azure could only get shivers down his spine at the thought of the guy.

As of right now, ever since they had ended up entering the tournament, they had gotten through their matches with ease as none of the opponents have actually managed to give them much of a challenge at all. They had managed to win their matches with a few uses of different moves, but not much.

"By the way, nice work with maintaining your Ten. Even though I only taught you last night, you are learning pretty quickly. Keep it up and you'll be able to keep it up while your sleeping." Azure praised with a smile as Riolu looked up at him and grinned with a bit of embarrassment from the praise.

[It's difficult, but I'll do it! I'm not giving up!]

"You have a strong determination for this, that's good. I can tell if you try hard enough and push through, you'll definitely manage to become a powerful Nen user." Azure said with a smile as he leaned back on the couch. Riolu looked at him before raising an eyebrow as he noticed something about the male.

[By the way, what's that book that you're reading over?] Riolu asked with curiosity and a tilt of his head. Ever since they have been waiting here for their next matches, Riolu had always noticed Azure reading some kind of book with a bunch of writing and also drawings [What even is it about anyway?]

"Don't worry about it." Azure responded with a smile as he closed the book before placing it next to him on the couch. Azure then rested his right leg on top of his left as he crossed his arms before turning to face down towards Riolu. "Anyway, I want to ask something. How come you're able to use Aura Sphere?"

[Eh? What do you mean?]

"Well, Riolu are normally incapable of using the move Aura Sphere. But, you seem to be an anomaly as you can use it like any other move, just as well as a Lucario can." Azure explained as Riolu just listened with blinking eyes. "So, that begs the question. How come you are able to use it? Even before I unlocked your Aura Nodes, you could use it."

[Well, I'm not really sure why I can use the move if my kind shouldn't be able to. Just that I have been able to for a while.] Riolu responded as he sat on the couch and began kicking his legs back and forth. Riolu held his chin in thought as he then crossed his arms. [Though, It's not like I'm complaining about it.]

"True that. It just means that you have some great potential if you can do something normal Riolu can't do." Azure chuckled slightly before standing up from the seat as he checked the clock on the wall, to which he then stretched his limbs a few times before placing his hands on his hips. "Anyway, let's get going. Our final match is about to start."

[R-Right!] Riolu nodded before quickly jumping off the couch and began running off after Azure as the male was walking out the door of the lobby waiting room. Though, Riolu soon stopped as he turned back to see Azure's book laying down on the couch. [Oh, Azure forgot his book! Better get it for him!]

Riolu ran over back towards the couch before taking hold of the book as he held it with both hands, to which Riolu noticed that words were written on the cover of the book. Riolu could only tilt his head in confusion at them, they were words that he didn't really recognise at all. The words also seemed to be written in pen, most likely by Azure.

The book was more like a notebook than an actual novel or anything.

[The... Dark Continent?]

We are here with the final match of the tournament! And we can be certain that it will certainly be an interesting one! I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see what these two talented trainers have in store for us!

Azure was seen standing on his side of the field as a massive audience was sitting on the surrounding bleachers as they were all cheering loudly, Azure calmly keeping his usual composed expression on his face as he faced his opponent, who held a smirk of confidence as well as a bit of arrogance.

The person that was appearing to be a muscular male who was significantly older than him and wore an orange coat with fur lining, as well as black boots and striped purple and white baggy pants. There also appeared to be a belt of sorts wrapped around his waist as he held what appeared to be a purple umbrella in his hands.

On the red side is a new trainer who has breezed through the matches with his powerful Riolu, that is Azure Brave from Motostoke City! On the blue side is the powerful dragon trainer Remo! Both sides are immensely powerful! Who will come out on top?!

"Alright, kid! I hope you're ready, cause me and my pokemon don't mess around!" Remo shouted as he spun his umbrella around while striking a pose. Riolu and Azure both sweatdropped at the act as they looked at one another, Azure just giving a sigh as he remained silent as he awaited the announcer.

[Is this guy really strong at all? I'm just sensing an emotion of arrogance...] Riolu frowned as he used his natural trait of being able to read emotions through aura as he stared at Remo with a thoughtful expression. Azure sighed at this as he honestly didn't know too much, but that didn't mean he would let his guard down.

"He did make it here to the finals of this tournament. So, we must assume he must be a talented trainer. So, stay on guard." Azure responded as Riolu looked up at him before nodding his head as Azure smiled as he saw that Riolu's aura was still covering him. Even now, in the middle of a battle, he was training.

Trainers, please send in your pokemon!

"Allow me to go first! Come on out, Garchoo!" Remo declared, causing Azure to raise an eyebrow in confusion at the nickname. He just watched as Remo tossed his Pokeball towards the field as it soon opened, releasing the stream of light that began to take form on the field. The light soon fading as the pokemon made its appearance.

It appeared to be a bipedal pokemon that shares traits with both sharks and dragons. It was dark-blue grey with a red underside, which is connected to a lavender coloured bottom. Its wings resemble pointed fins with one long claw on each one, and its legs have three claws on each of its feet and two claws on each of its knees.

It also has a large dorsal fin on its back. It has a long, segmented tail with one fin on it. On its head are two horns with a lavender stripe in them. Its eyes also having a black sclerae and yellow irises, and it having visible fangs. The pokemon giving a powerful roar as the ground shook a bit, though Riolu and Azure seemed unaffected.

"So, he's using a Gabite, huh?" Azure muttered as he recognised the pokemon easily. The Gible evolutionary line was a rather popular one that people usually used when playing the game, and they were quite powerful too. Though, there was one thing that confused him a lot... 'Garchoo? Sounds like a combination of Garchomp and Pikachu, what's with the name? It's not even evolved yet...'

Riolu seemed also confused, though not worried as he kept his tall stand.

"Alright. Riolu, I'm counting on you!"

[Understood!] Riolu smiled before doing a few frontflips onto the field before jumping up and landing in front of the larger pokemon as he got into a fighting stance. Azure having taken the liberty to teach Riolu martial arts, not a lot yet, but still enough for the general idea. Bisky had taught him in the past, so might as well teach it to Riolu.

Alright, folks! Both trainers and their pokemon are ready for battle! Let's get this started, shall we?! Let the final battle of the Pokemon Battle Tournament begin!

"Okay, Garchoo! Use Stone Edge!" Remo ordered as Gabite gave a cry before hitting its claw against the ground, causing pillars of blue glowing rocks to shoot out from the ground, all heading towards Riolu. Azure didn't seem affected by the pillars as he calmly gave his order as he held his hand forwards.

"Riolu, charge in straight towards the pillars. Use your speed!" Azure had commanded as Riolu didn't hesitate to follow. They watched as Riolu rushed in with incredible speed before jumping up onto the pillars as they shot up, hopping from one pillar to the other while also closing the between himself and Gabite. "Cross Chop!"

"Intercept with Dragon Claw!" Remo quickly ordered as Gabite's claws glowed blue before they extended in length. Gabite glared as RIolu arrived in front of him as both of RIolu's paws glowed white, to which Riolu swung both of them downwards towards Gabite. Gabite blocked the attack with his own as Gabite clenched its teeth as the force was more than it expected.

Riolu narrowed his eyes as Gabite did seem to be more physically powerful than it had first expected, it knew that it was probably strong if its presence and size was anything to go by, but not this much. Riolu then smirked as it seems that it might have indeed found an interesting opponent after all.

"Continuous Dragon Claws!"

"You do the same with Cross Chops, Riolu!" Azure countered as RIolu nodded before both of his paws stayed glowing white as the same could be said for Gabite's claws. The two pokemon began exchanging blow after blow, though Gabite was seemingly taking a bit more damage compared Riolu.

Riolu's Ten was protecting him well.

'Riolu's Ten is certainly allowing his defences to be greater compared to how he originally was, that's the only reason he isn't taking so much damage from those attacks. This Gabite has been trained well.' Azure smiled slightly as he watched the battle between the two. Remo may be a bit arrogant, but he is indeed a good trainer. 'This should be good...'

If Riolu hadn't been introduced to Ten and had his inner Aura unleashed, then Azure had no doubt this match would have been over much sooner, the loss going to Riolu. However, with Riolu's new potential, his capabilities just skyrocketed to match the Gabite in front of him. Maybe a bit more so than the dragon.

"I must say, you trained the Riolu well! He's powerful!" Remo grinned as his inner battle crazy self seemed to surface. Azure just gave a small smile and waved off the praise, he had honestly known Riolu for a bit over a day. The only training he gave the pokemon so far was basic Nen and a bit of martial arts. "Dual Chop!"

"Back away, Riolu!" Riolu quickly complied as he used his speed to dash backwards, narrowly dodging the attack as the ground where Gabite struck cracked and exploded a bit. Riolu backflipped away before skidding to a stop in front of Azure as he gave his next command. "Riolu, use Aura Sphere!"

Riolu cupped his hands to the right side of his body as a spherical orb of Aura soon formed, a rather dense amount of Aura as it was no doubt stronger than what Riolu could do before having his Aura Nodes open. By having them opened, it seemed that Riolu could produce forth much more Aura then it ever could before.

[Take this!] Riolu shouted before firing the attack forwards. The attacked sailed through the air before crashing into Gabite, resulting in an explosion, thus sending Gabite flying across the field and crashing into the wall. Remo having shot his head towards where Gabite was sent flying with surprise present on his face.

Gabite has just been seen flying into the wall by a very powerful Aura Sphere! Is the dragon still able to continue battling? Or is it all over for Remo?!

"Garchoo, are you alright?!"

Remo had cried out in concern as the dust cloud from the explosion began to disperse as Riolu stood tall alongside Azure as Riolu was panting slightly. They all watched as they soon also heard groaning as well as what they assumed were rocks hitting the ground, though they all then saw Gabite coming out of the rubble.

Amazing! Even after such a powerful attack, Gabite has emerged from the wall and is still capable of standing! But, it does seem that Gabite has sustained a good deal of damage! How much longer can he hold on?!

[He's strong, this is fun!]

"Indeed, Remo has trained Gabite well." Azure smiled as he saw that Gabite had indeed sustained significant damage as it was panting heavier than Riolu was. Gabite still appeared to be staying strong as it released a powerful challenging roar towards RIolu, who narrowed his eyes at the dragon. "Well done training Gabite, Remo. He's strong!"

"Heh! I take pride in Garchoo's strength, we won't lose without a fight!" Remo declared strongly as Gabite seemed to share his determination as it got ready for a battle. Azure could only smile at the act, along with Riolu, as it kind of reminded him of the determination he, Gon, and Killua shared during their journey.

"I like your spirit, Remo. However, I think it's time we wrap this battle of ours up." Azure stated as Remo rose an eyebrow at the boy. Azure closed his eyes for a second before opening them as he glanced towards Riolu, the pokemon glancing back as he awaited his next instruction. "Riolu, it's time to show me your progress thus far. Even if it's only been a few hours."

[I'm ready!]

"Riolu... show me your Ren!" Azure demanded as the words confused everyone aside from himself and Riolu as Riolu hardened his eyes before standing tall as he clenched both of his paws tightly. Riolu clenched his teeth slightly before his eyes glowed for a second before giving off a powerful cry.

Azure smirked as the aura that surrounded Riolu spiked, its transparent nature causing the ground to shake slightly as Riolu's body was also shaking slightly. Riolu could feel it, incredible strength rushing into his body as his Ren was active! This is what Azure meant by it increasing one's physical capabilities and also durability!

Riolu could feel that his body had become stronger as the Aura leaking out from him was massive, the pressure being pretty strong as the spectators, Gabite, and Remo could feel its presence. Azure was pretty impressed, Riolu's Ren was impressive, and with some training, who knows how strong it can become?

From what Azure could tell from everything he was seeing of Riolu at this moment, he can safely say that Riolu can't keep this up for much. An absolute max of five minutes from what he can say right now, so he definitely needed to work on that. The Ren had indeed made him stronger than Gabite, but not enough that he would say a significant amount.

Then again, the five minutes he was talking about is if Riolu isn't actually moving and using it for attacking. If Riolu did use the Aura while utilising Ren, then he had no doubt that Riolu probably wouldn't be able to keep it up for more than even thirty seconds. It definitely would need some work if Riolu were to use it in the future.

What Azure found interesting about this world's residents was that it seemed that they are capable of actually seeing Aura, an example being how humans and other pokemon can see when Lucario or Riolu used Aura Sphere. Though, he was certain that if he used In to conceal his Nen, they would not be able to see it, only if he doesn't try to conceal it.

He wasn't sure why people could see Aura in this world, but it doesn't change too much for him as he always has his Ten hidden away from view through using In. Riolu, on the other hand, he has yet to teach Riolu to do so, so he had noticed people giving confused looks towards Riolu as the Ten he constantly had up got their attention.

Wh-What is this, folks?! Riolu seems to be releasing some kind of powerful barrier? Energy? I'm not sure what it is! But, we can all agree that we are all curious to find out just what Azure has in store for us with this!

"Force Palm."

Riolu ran forwards as soon as he heard the command, surprising everyone as he was almost twice as fast as he was before as Riolu covered the distance between them in record time. Riolu narrowed his eyes before placing his hand on Gabite's stomach before a powerful force released from Riolu's palm.

The fore sent Gabite flying back into the wall that it had come out of previously, this time having been sent flying at much faster speeds than before. The force from the Force Palm was incredible as there was much more power having been released, probably since Riolu had used his Aura to empower it.

They all waited with held breath as the dust began to clear away, thus allowing them all to see Gabite and all of his former glory. Gabite was now lying unconscious in the hole that was made in the wall as his eyes were now replaced by swirls, unmoving as only a groan could be heard coming from Gabite's mouth.

"Garchoo, oh no!"

"Well done, Riolu. Nice work out there." Azure smiled as Riolu grinned before walking back over and panting heavily as it seemed that he was tired from all the Aura he had just produced. Azure smiled a bit as RIolu definitely worked hard out there, especially when using Ren. "Use your Zetsu to recover faster."

[R-Right...] Riolu panted before concentrating as his eyes seemed to dull slightly in colour as the Aura that surrounded his body disappeared. It was silent for a bit before the stadium suddenly erupted into an immense cheer as they all clapped for the match, all seemingly still surprised by the sudden power burst by Riolu. [Oh, this does feel better!]

There we have it! I am personally sure as to what that sudden boost of power was, but we can all certainly agree that Azure and Riolu are a force to be reckoned with! We can all certainly look forward to what he can accomplish in the future! The winner is Azure!

After the little tournament, the two could now be seen inside what appeared to be a shopping center. Azure was just looking at the different items within the store while Riolu just stood beside him while focusing on his Aura, practicing keeping his Ten completely active as so it doesn't end up leaking.

Azure was wanting to buy a number of different supplies since they were going to be going on a journey, so buying the essentials such as food, more items like Pokeballs, pokemon food, and all the sorts of stuff that would be useful in the wilderness. Plus, their next goal was quite a bit of a distance away.

[Azure...]

"Yeah?"

[I was wondering...] Riolu voiced as Azure turned his attention down towards the pokemon, looking at Riolu with confusion as the pokemon opened up his eyes and was staring down towards the ground. [You told me that Nen grows far deeper than what you've taught me so far... can we start learning that too? I know I'm rushing a bit...]

"It's fine, I understand your excitement to get stronger. However..."

[However...?]

"I'll only continue on past the Four Major Principles when I deem that you are prepared. As of right now, you are not." Azure stated firmly as he took hold of a number of different berries and placed them in a bag before putting the bag into his shopping basket. "You do know that rushing things can have major consequences, right?"

[Yeah, I understand.] Riolu smiled a bit sadly as he couldn't help but become really interested into finding out just how much further Nen actually goes. Learning and practicing Ten, Ren, Zetsu, and potentially Hatsu when the time came. He could only wonder, just how much more to Nen was there? Was it really that much that Azure was this wary of allowing him to continue on as of right now?

"Good. For now, help me out get some stuff for our journey. We'll be leaving as soon as we finish shopping. We're heading to Cyllage City." Azure voiced as he smiled down at Riolu. Riolu stared up towards him after he said this, Azure quickly deactivated his In for a second before reactivating it. "We are challenging the gyms after all. You with me?"
