Author Note: Part of the Chrismas Explosion. Merry Christmas!
I do not own Detective Conan.
Enjoy!
A relationship between Jemy and Ran had been established, both of them were getting to know each other and Ran was getting to know that there were defiantly a few difference between Shinichi and Jemy like she had observed before.
The biggest difference was that Jemy didn't really want to become a detective, sure he loved reading true crime books but that was it.
And while Lala believed her job was done as she lived the life of a supermodel and was interviewed and met fans, she soon realised that the system before her had not disappeared.
In fact, she woke up to a few new shocking additions.
The first shocking addition was finding out what the universe did with all the dead people who didn't have Shinichi around to solve their cases.
The universe now connected them to her family, whether they were Jemie's friends, classmates, teachers or people from her fabricated past.
They had new DNA, new memories, new personalities and new families.
Seeing all these dead people become somebody else made her sweat a bit because if somebody who used to knew them or worse yet their killer encountered them on the street, the worst-case scenario was that the world realises nobody murdered truly died in this town for some reason.
She poured the money she gained into given all these new dead people high luck and made them all take up martial arts.
The second big difference was a lot less world-changing but it changed her families whole dynamic.
She saw that she can purchase Conan and even a husband.
Yes, she didn't have to be a single mother and Conan would become his own person.
And how could she not say yes, to having a cuddly child to cuddle whenever she came home?
She wanted to see the junior detective league.
So when Jemy was getting used to the structure of the town so that he can actually go somewhere on his own, she was busy trying to get at least one family member.
One day, Jemy finally got confident enough to walk Ran home.
Jemy changed into his less 'I go to a very rich highschool' clothes in the limousine that he instructed to go to her school.
Then he got out and waited for Ran to come out of school.
There was a sense of irony that the school he once went to, he now viewed himself as an outsider.
He put earphones in and used his phone to see what his mom was doing, the press sure loved to follow his mom around.
However, despite the noise, he somehow spotted Ran with her friend and Ran waved at him.
He walked to her and lowered his phone volume.
He then kissed her on the cheek and Ran went red because she was before her school mates.
Her school mates froze.
Yep, Jemy had no problem with embarrassing her.
He laughed, showing teeth like he was in a dental commercial and said in his accented Japanese. "You done, Ran-chan?" He joined her at the side and took her hand.
He continued to shock those who used to know Shinichi as he was very bold in showing his feelings before them.
"Ah, yeah," she said.
Than Ran noticed her shocked friend and said. "Oh, Jemy this Sonoko, you know the girl I talked to you about when you asked about how my day went" then she said to Sonoko. "This is my boyfriend Jemy"
The girl snapped out of it and said. "I've seen the photos and I would LOVE to get to know you more"
Ran started sweating.
Jemy thought it was a bit weird and then they began to walk down the street, and Jemy had no idea those behind where looking at him in shock and disbelief.
Was he really not Shinichi?
The world was an amazing place.
"Oh, you just moved here?" Said Sonoka. "Your Japanese is passable"
"Oh, thanks," he said. "When my mom asked if I wanted to move to Japan after she brought a house, I thought why not? It's nice to know my Japanese is passable by a local"
You look like a local. Both girls thought.
"So, do you really go to Royal Woods Academy?" Said Sonoka. "That place is super exclusive"
Even though she was the daughter of a businessman, she didn't get in.
"Oh, yeah. My family is kind of a big deal back in my home country" he said. "My mom apparently enrolled me before I even stepped into the new house. But it isn't that big of a difference from my old school. Just more Japanese"
And then Jemy realised there were a bunch of students following them for some reason.
Maybe, it was just snoopers who watch anybody who has a date.
And Sonoka was supposed to leave but she was too invested right now, much to Ran dismay.
They came to her house, more like apartment building and Ran kissed him goodbye before she pulled Sonoka in, much to both Sononka and Jemy surprise.
Ran said. "Jemy, why don't you go back home? I'll make sure Sonoka gets a taxi. After all, you can't possibly meet my dad yet, it's too early in our relationship"
He gave her that look, the look he gave her when he suspected something was going on that she wasn't telling him about.
However, he dropped it and made his way home, after all, he couldn't just barge into he house.
Ran closed the door and turned around only to deal with the look Sonoko was currently giving her.
"So, tell me everything or I'll blab to the entire school that your dating a guy who looks just like Shinichi just weeks after his burial," said Sonoko.
However, Ran said. "I need some outside input into this"
And then Ran told her everything she knew about Jemy, there were moments where she thought he was Shinichi but then there will be moments where he didn't act like him at all.
He was like a puzzle box to her, the moment she thought she had gotten a piece, the piece would be denied.
He loved crime novels but he didn't want to be a detective, apparently, he was too squeamish for that kind of thing.
She almost wished that a case would happen right in front of them to see how he would handle it, but she would never wish that on anyone.
Ran asked her friend to help her out and Sonoko, of course, said yes.
A very interesting non-deadly mystery was going on and of course, she couldn't say no.
However, the next morning, Ran found that her classmates were grilling her hard on the guy from yesterday, but she told them he was a completely different person who just happened to look like him.
That evening, Jemy took her out on a date to an amusement Park and he looked like he was having way more fun then she was.
He wore the kind of smile you see on tourists who were enjoying Japan.
His innocent smile made her smile, and his embarrassment at being caught having such a good time, made her laugh.
She felt like she was babysitting him, he was just so happy to see everything.
However, he had apparently noticed and apologised by the end of the night for his behaviour but she didn't care, she was just so happy to see him have so much innocent fun.
He walked her home and she didn't even care if he was Shinichi or not, she loved his smile.
However, the rest of the world didn't feel the same way as several people had been following and taken pictures of them all night.
Those pictures were sent to the local newspaper and it can only blow up from there.
A lot of people we're about to look at the existence of Jemy Star and become very interested.
