A/N: As per the review by 'Phantom Thief of Hearts', there is a reason for why he doesn't remember people like Clemont, Bonnie and Serena. Though, the reason won't be revealed for probably a good number of chapters. Not certain when, I just know that it will be revealed.
Also, another question being if his harem is only those of the Kalos region. The answer to that question is no, I won't reveal who will be in the harem that you don't already know due to up near the synopsis though. But, I will say that there are a few you won't expect.

[Pokemon Speech]
"Don't do it, Lucario!"
"Lucario, you need to stop!" Nothing seemed to be working as Lucario ignored the words and began reeling his fist back as his mouth opened up to reveal the sharp canines that were present, a powerful growl releasing from Lucario's mouth as he then threw his right fist towards Ash and Pikachu.
But, just as the attacked was about to hit...
"Riolu!"
All of them were staring at the scene with widened eyes of shock as the scene in front of them unfolded, all of them having lowered their arms from their eyes after a wave of immense aura washed throughout the aura that they were in. The aura having caused a bit of the ground to crack as a number of stone rubbles was seen scattered around.
The only exception to this being Azure as he had his arms crossed over his chest.
The reason for all their shock was the fact that Riolu was currently in front of both Ash and Pikachu, Riolu having a strained look on his face as his legs were slightly bent as both his arms were held up blocking the attack that had been sent by Lucario. Riolu was also releasing his powerful Ren for all of them to see.
After Azure had ended up calling out Riolu's name, the pokemon had reacted instantly and quickly dashed at incredible speeds rivalling Mega Lucario as he had managed to block the Power-Up-Punch, though with difficulty as the force behind the attack was great. Mega Lucario did seem to be as powerful as Riolu was when he used his Ren to a great degree.
True, Azure could have blocked the attack himself since his power was far beyond that of the Mega Lucario that belonged to Korrina, but he wanted to see just how well Riolu would be able to withstand an attack that could rival the pokemon. It was as he expected, at the amount of power that Riolu was outputting right now, they were both even.
Riolu gritted his teeth before increasing his aura a bit before smacking Lucario away, the pokemon releasing a small cry of pain as he was sent skidding across the ground. He didn't skid for long though as he soon flipped back onto his feet and held the same feral expression while glaring down towards Riolu.
Riolu didn't seem to flinch at all though as he held a small frown on his face as he got into his stance, all the same time having hardened his eyes unblinkingly as they stayed trained and focused on the older pokemon. All the trainers and other pokemon watched from their position with shock as they hadn't expected Riolu to be able to block such an attack.
The idea of a small pokemon like Riolu capable of such a feet was insane, withstanding and rivalling the power of a Power-Up-Punch coming from the evolved form of his species, a mega evolved version no less! To them, this was already enough to speak volumes about the strength that Riolu had under his belt.
Riolu wasn't using In either, so his aura was on full display for every single one of them to see.
Gurkinn was just as shocked as he stared at the scene with widened eyes, his Lucario, which he had recently sent out to stop the attack himself, also watching with just as much surprise as they observed Riolu. They could both tell that the pokemon was trained very well, he must have been if he was already as powerful as he was.
Gurkinn's Lucario narrowed his eyes as he saw the aura that enveloped Riolu's body, it was both beautiful and also fierce as the aura he was seeing also seemed to be spiking yet sticking closely to his body as well. Lucario wasn't certain as to why and how this was happening exactly, it was as if his aura had just multiplied by incredible amounts.
On top of that, they could tell that Riolu was very much well-versed in combat and technique as the stance that the small pokemon had taken on was something usually seen within the concepts of martial arts. It was obvious to them that he must have learnt it from someone, that person most likely being Azure.
Gurkinn's Lucario also sensed something strange, something strange that was about Azure. He couldn't feel any aura that was being outputted by the male, but he had this strange feeling in his mind that there was more to the boy than meets the eye. Gurkinn felt the same way as while he didn't know how to utilise aura, he was experienced enough to tell that this boy was anything but normal. But, just what differentiated him from others?
They both turned their gazes towards the boy in question, who was standing beside the both of them as he stared forwards at the scene with unblinking eyes and a small frown on his face as his arms were still crossed. They could see it, he had a strongly built body and also a guarded yet relaxed stance, things you don't see in normal children his age.
Though, the most prominent thing that caught their attention was not the strong presence he had, his muscular build, or his stance. But... it was his eyes. Under that friendliness and respect, they could see all kinds of emotions that were trapped and hidden away within him. Anger, sadness, despair, and so much more. His eyes displayed insane amounts of maturity.
In this rather bright world, Gurkinn had learnt of the dark side of it over his many years of living. Even despite this, he could say that the eyes that Azure had hidden away beneath his current facade were sheltering feelings greater than any other person he had met, even himself. The eyes of someone who had seen the truth of how cruel the world can be, maybe even more.
It was only after a few seconds of silence that Lucario's, Korrina's Lucario, glare had softened before becoming completely blank as he began falling to the ground while covered in a dense light. They all watched as Lucario fell to his knees and crashed down onto the ground, having changed back into his original form at the same time.
[Eh? He changed back?] Riolu questioned to himself in confusion as he dropped his stance and watched the unconscious Lucario collapsed on the ground in front of him. Azure walked on over and stood beside Riolu as he had his eyes narrowed Azure having nodded his head as he responded. "Yeah, pokemon that are mega evolved don't stay forever, they return to normal."
Azure and Riolu were both having rather similar thoughts as the fact that the aura that they felt within Lucario was unstable were indeed true after all, and this current situation was very much proof enough to support it. If Azure was right to assume, he would have to say that Lucario must have been overwhelmed by the power he had gained and went berserk.
If he was being honest, this kind of situation wasn't exactly uncommon, he had witnessed a few times where people's Nen had driven them insane due to the immense power they had attained. Some having lost their mental states and turned into beings that were barely, if at all, would manage to form a single conscious thought. He even had to put some of them down.
This situation was pretty much no different, Lucario was just lucky enough that the mega evolution was just temporary, or he could very well end up the same as those unfortunate ones he had ended up witnessing. Lucario's aura having been increased to the limit that his aura nodes could produce from what Azure could see, so it was understandable.
"Very well done, Riolu. Azure." Both said males turned their heads to see that it was Gurkinn that had praised them as he walked over towards them along with both his Lucario and McGinty walking beside him. Gurkinn walked over and knelt down in front of Korrina's Lucario as Gurkinn's Lucario patted Riolu on the head with a smile. "McGinty, please take this."
"Right." McGinty had nodded in response as he took hold of the mega stone that Gurkinn had taken off of the ground after it had been dropped by Korrina's Lucario after he had fallen unconscious. Azure and Riolu just watching calmly as Ash had walked up next to them while holding onto the still unconscious and injured Pikachu in his arms.
"L-Lucario!" Korrina had cried out in major concern as she skated on over towards them where she had quickly dropped down to the ground beside both her grandfather and also the still unconscious Lucario. Her face full of sadness and also confusion, just why had this happened to Lucario? That was what plagued her mind... "W-Why? Why did this happen...?"
"I suggest that we take a visit to the pokemon center to make sure that both Pikachu and also Lucario heal, prolonging it further won't be good." Azure stated as he crossed his arms over his chest. He was still thinking about Lucario, but priorities are priorities. Gurkinn had nodded his head in agreement as he stood back up.
"I agree with Azure. It would be best to do so." Gurkinn nodded in agreement.
"I..." Korrina muttered as she turned her gaze back down to Lucario, who was still unmoving as he was lying facedown on the ground. He wasn't even twitching at all. Korrina looked back up and saw Ash walking over with his own rather saddened expression, having nodded in agreement with the previous two. "...Right."
"Here we go, Azure."
"Wait, is this...?"
"Yep, it's the Everstone that I was going to give you. I custom made it in a way that would allow Riolu to wear it without it restricting its movements." McGinty explained as he, Azure and also RIolu were seen walking through the town heading towards where the pokemon center was. McGinty holding onto what appeared to be a red and white box.
The three of them had decided to head on over to McGinty's place first off, Azure and Riolu mainly going since McGinty had requested for them to do so. The reason was obvious now, which was for the item that Azure was given. The others having gone ahead of them to the pokemon center to get their pokemon healed up.
Azure was holding onto what appeared to be a necklace of sorts that was made out of some kind of black chain, also having a round grey stone attached to it within a white slot on the necklace for it. This item having been given to Azure a couple of seconds ago by McGinty, and the item being none other than the Everstone that Azure and Riolu wanted.
"Are you sure you don't want some form of payment? I still feel bad about taking it without compensation..." Azure frowned slightly as he looked at the necklace in his hands. While it certainly wasn't the most flashy design of an accessory, it suited Riolu's colours well. McGinty gave a small laugh and shook his head.
"As I have said before, no need to worry about it!"
"Okay..." Azure replied with uncertainty as Riolu was staring up at the item with interest. They then stopped for a bit as Azure knelt down in front of Riolu before placing the necklace onto Riolu's neck, the pokemon taking hold of the stone as he inspected it curiously. [So, this is the Everstone I heard about? Kind of... underwhelming]
"Meh, it's an Everstone. So, does the appearance really matter that much?"
[I suppose so. But, don't you think it might come off at some point? A necklace isn't exactly the most secure thing in the world]
"We'll find some other way to keep the Everstone on you some other time, a necklace is more than enough for right now." Azure assured as McGinty watched the both of them conversing with interest in his eyes as he then voiced. "I must say, you two must be rather close if you can understand one another like this."
"Huh? Oh, I guess you could say that..." Azure muttered a bit nervously as he gave a small nervous smile to the older man. Azure and Riolu shared a look with one another as they each gave a small chuckle and a smirk, it was more like they can understand one another. Though, McGinty didn't need to know that one. "Anyway, we should head on over to the pokemon center."
"Agreed, they all must be waiting for us." McGinty nodded as he then patted the box that he was holding in his left hand. "I also need to give this over to Korrina too, I hope she likes what I have crafted for her. I hope that Gurkinn is pleased with my craftsmanship as well."
"What is in there anyway?"
"Oh, nothing much. Just a little gift."
"Was your Lucario the same during his first time mega evolving, grandfather?"
"Well, in a way..." Gurkinn had replied as he could be seen sitting on one of the seats within the pokemon center as Korrina and Ash were standing next to him and looking at him while he spoke. Ash holding onto Pikachu, who seemed to have recovered from his injuries rather well as no signs of injury could be seen anymore.
Serena, Bonnie and Clemont could be seen conversing with one another away from the three of them as they were most likely talking about the whole incident that had just occurred concerning Korrina's Lucario. Korrina, right now, having a desperate, confused and concerned expression on her face as she was facing her grandfather.
"Korrina, no one gets everything perfect on their first attempt. But, still though..." Gurkinn stated as he kept his eyes closed while he spoke. Gurkinn was silent for a second before opening his eyes as he turned his serious gaze upwards towards Korrina and Ash as they listened. "That battle just now doesn't deserve any praise."
"Wha-...!" Korrina seemed taken back by the rather blunt and clear jab that Gurkinn had just done. She then shook her head a bit before frowning heavily as she yelled back at him. "B-But, didn't you hear anything that Ash and the others said?! We were still just getting warmed up, and it was our first time anyway!"
"Mr. McGinty! Azure!" Ash's voice had suddenly called out as they all turned their heads to see the two mentioned individuals walking in through the front doors of the pokemon center as Riolu was riding on Azure's right shoulder. Azure just had a small smile as McGinty smiled and waved over towards them as they walked over.
"Sorry to keep you all waiting!"
"So, have you finished it?"
"Mm. Yep, and it came out great if I must say so myself." McGinty responded to Gurkinn's question with a small laugh. They all watched as McGinty then took hold of the box he had with both hands before opening it up, all of them watching curiously as they saw what appeared to be an armguard of sorts, a red one, with what appeared to be the mega stone attached to it.
Except, the mega stone appeared to be cut down nicely into a more spherical shape compared to what it was before, which it had resembled that of a meteorite previously. Korrina and Ash looked at it with excitement as Azure and Riolu just looked at it with interest and curiosity, Azure nodding in understanding as he knew what McGinty meant by a gift now.
"The Lucarionite!" Korrina smiled with surprise as she then took hold of the item as she continued to inspect all around it. "Thanks so much for this, Mr. McGinty!"
"No problem at all. Also, this is for you as well!" McGinty voiced as he reached into his jacket's pocket, soon taking out what appeared to be a small picture of sorts before handing it towards Korrina. Korrina blinked before looking at it as she soon smiled brightly before taking hold of the picture. "I printed another one out, just like you asked."
"Thanks so much!"
"That's wonderful, Korrina!"
"Yeah! We even have a complete set now!" Korrina grinned as she held the arm guard in multiple angles to get a good look at its entire design, all the while holding the same grin the entire time as he eyes released small sparkles. "It's just like the one grandfather's Lucario has, is it possible that you also created that one as well?"
"Yeah, just a small checkup to see if everything is fine."
"Of course! It won't take long at all." They all turned their heads to see Azure was speaking with Nurse Joy at the front reception desk, Riolu having stepped down off of his shoulder and began following Nurse Joy as he waved back towards Azure, Azure chuckling a bit as he waved back. Azure then turned back before walking back over towards them.
"Azure!" Azure turned his attention upwards at the sudden voice calling out his name. When he did, he saw none other than Ash jogging up to him as the others just watched. Ash smiled as he stopped in front of Azure before voicing. "You and Riolu are incredible! Riolu is super strong if he was able to block an attack from Mega Lucario!"
At this sentence, the others also had their interests piqued, especially Gurkinn as he turned his head slightly as his eyes opened up a bit more with curiosity. Like stated before, the ability for a Riolu to match up with a Lucario was incredible, a mega evolved one being far more so as they had remembered how it was detected that Mega Lucario was far stronger compared to his normal form.
"It's not really that much of a big deal, we just trained really hard. There's nothing more to it." Azure half-lied as they technically did train hard, he just didn't tell them any more than that. Gurkinn seemed suspicious though, he had a feeling the boy was only giving simple undetailed responses. His many years allowed him to tell different things... one being when someone lied.
Gurkinn had to admit though, Azure was very good at keeping his composure and also his expression from being unreadable, but he could see that small gap that allowed him to see that there was truly more to it than what was being said. But, he just didn't know what Azure was hiding from them, or if he was going to tell them.
"I see, then I need to train just as hard as you do!" Ash smiled with determination as he looked towards where Riolu had went with Nurse Joy. The Riolu was far stronger than any other Riolu he had ever encountered before, there was no doubt about that. Ash then gained a look of realisation. "I know! You and I should have a battle sometime, Azure!"
"Hm? A battle?"
"Yeah! After seeing that power that you and Riolu have, I can't wait until I can have a battle with you!"
"Well, I guess don't mind at all." Azure shrugged as he responded. He didn't really see any issue at all if Ash wanted to have a battle with him, what was the worst that could happen? It wasn't like Riolu was going to end up going berserk like Lucario did, Riolu trained well in the use of Nen that he can control it to a high degree.
Though, that didn't mean he was anywhere near mastering the arts of Nen.
Not even close.
After a couple of minutes, the group were now seen sitting down at one of the tables within the pokemon center as Ash's group were sitting together on one side while Gurkinn, McGinty, Korrina and Azure were sitting on the other side. They all seemed to be discussing about the whole mega evolution incident, Azure being silent though.
"So, what do you perhaps think might have happened to Mega Lucario?" Clemont decided to ask as the question was directed towards pretty much everyone in the group. The first person that had ended up responding to Clemont's question after a few seconds was Korrina. "Lucario just got carried away. He mega evolved for the first time after all!"
"I wonder though..." Serena muttered as they all seemed to hold rather uncomfortable expressions. Serena than turned her attention towards the red-capped trainer. "What about you, Ash? What do you think?"
"Well... it did certainly feel like we were facing off against an entirely different pokemon compared to the first time that Pikachu battled against Lucario." Ash muttered as he seemed to hold a thinking expression. Pikachu seemed to agree with the statement as he nodded his head and gave a small cry.
"It was scary to watch..." Bonnie muttered as they turned their attention to the young girl, Dedenne seemed to agree with her as Dedenne twitched its whiskers a bit while holding a slightly frightened look on its face. Korrina seemed to slump her shoulders a bit before calling out. "Lucario just went a little bit wild!"
"As you all may know, every single pokemon reacts to mega evolution in a different way. Let it be a big, or a small, difference." Gurkinn had voiced out as they turned their gazes to him. Azure didn't do so as he just crossed his arms over his chest and had his eyes closed. Ash then seemed to remember something.
"Oh, that's right! We actually ended up meeting Diantha the other day!" Ash stated as Azure twitched slightly as he recognised the name. If he remembered correctly, the name was the name of the champion of the Kalos region. In other words, a rather prominent figure. McGinty then voiced his own thoughts to them.
"If I am not mistaken, she had a Gardevoir capable of mega evolution. Correct?"
"Yeah, we even met Mega Gardevoir!"
"Well, that is true. But, Mega Gardevoir acted in a completely different manner compared to Mega Lucario." Clemont added as he had a downcasted expression. Serena seemed to agree as she nodded her head and continued. "Yeah, that's right! Mega Gardevoir seemed so elegant and calm. She also appeared to be in complete control."
"But, it's completely different in this case." Ash added. "Mega Lucario got super strong, but ended up completely ignoring all of the commands that Korrina gave to him."
"That makes me wonder... what was happening with Lucario?"
"There are many possible explanations for this happening, some we may not even consider. But, I have a feeling that I know just what is possibly wrong." Gurkinn voiced as they all grew curious and turned to him for an explanation. Gurkinn didn't give one though as he looked down next to him towards Azure. "What about you, Azure? Considering how well you've trained Riolu, what do you think is wrong?"
Azure opened his eyes and shifted his gaze up towards the older man, who continued to stare at him with the same serious gaze he always usually held. They stared at each other in silence for a bit since Azure could tell that it seemed that the man was trying to make him slip up some information he doesn't want to.
'Nice try, but I won't be fooled so easily.' Azure thought with amusement. He didn't know why, but he felt as if he remembered Gurkinn from somewhere, but at the same time, he felt as if he didn't know him too. It truly confused him. But, he was certain about the fact that Gurkinn was observant and very smart, it would seem he could see through his facade a bit. "If I were to hazard a guess, then I would say mega evolution is merely too much."
"Wait, what do you mean by too much?" Korrina thought in confusion as the others wondered the exact same thing. Gurkinn just looking at Azure unblinkingly as he continued to listen to the boy as he continued. "Well, it is possible that the concept of mega evolution is too much for Lucario to control. The immense power he gains causing his emotional state to go haywire."
"I would have to agree with Azure, it very well may be too strong." Gurkinn nodded his head in satisfaction as he voiced this. They all turned back to him from Azure as they listened. "It has been said that the strength of Lucario's aura is heightened to the limit when it undergoes mega evolution. Every nerve focused on battling, causing it to be incapable of thinking about anything else. It's aura awakening its battling instincts by a great magnitude."
"I see... and if that's true." Korrina muttered as she looked down. "The instinct completely took over..."
"Don't worry. It isn't like it's not unheard of for a mega evolved pokemon to lose its control over its power during a battle." McGinty assured as Azure leaned back in the couch. They all seemed to nod at this in understanding before Ash continued. "So, you're basically saying that Korrina needs to find a way to control this?"
"That's exactly correct." Gurkinn nodded his head in response. "It's also a power she must make her own as the Shalour City Gym Leader."
[Azure!]
"Hm?" They all turned their heads to see none other than Riolu rushing on over towards them, a big smile plastered on his face as Azure stood up and walked out and past the other two he was sitting next to as Riolu stopped in front of him. "Nice to see that you're doing just fine, Riolu. Nothing bad happen at all?"
[Nope! She said that I was as healthy as I can be!] Riolu smiled and nodded his head. Riolu then began tugging on Azure's hand and was pointing towards another place within the pokemon center, confusing the Nen user as he blinked. [Azure! I want to show you something, can we go over somewhere private, please?]
"Eh? Sure, I guess..." Azure responded in confusion. Azure then turned his head back towards the others, who were just watching them with confusion. "I'll meet up with you guys some time in a bit, Riolu seems to want to show me something."
"it's fine, see you later!" Ash nodded his head as the others did the same as well. Azure nodded his head in thanks before following Riolu over towards one of the empty tables a bit away from where they were previously. Azure seemed confused as Riolu had gestured for him to sit down, which he did as Riolu stood on the seat on the other side"What's this about?"
[I wanna show you my progress!] Riolu shouted. Azure seemed confused by this, though seemed to understand just what Riolu was talking about after a bit of thinking. Azure held a hand over his mouth in thought, giving Riolu an unblinking stare. [I think I'm ready now to be able to pass this water divination test of yours!]
"Oh~? Really? Why don't we give that a test then?" Azure smirked a bit before taking out the glass from his bag before using a water bottle to fill it up. Riolu seemingly already having gotten a leaf from outside as he placed it onto the top of the now filled cup of water. Azure then leaned back on his chair. "Alright then, show me what you can do."
Azure leaned back in his chair as he stared unblinkingly as Riolu took a deep breath before holding his paws on either side of the glass, Azure watching as Riolu brought forth his aura. This continuing on for only a couple of seconds before Riolu stopped, no visible change happening. However, that wasn't what he was judging. It was the taste of the water.
'Why do I feel like I've become more like Menchi...?' Azure couldn't help but mentally think as he was in his current position. Menchi being one of the Gourmet Hunters that he had met during his adventure, and also one of his examiners in the hunter exam during the second phase. 'Thinking about it gives me the chills... ugh!'
[There, I'm done!]
"Very well, then let's see just how much progress you managed over the course of the days." Azure said before dipping his index finger slightly into the water before placing his finger slightly into his mouth to taste the difference. Azure remained unblinking as he processed the taste, holding a thinking expression while doing so.
Riolu just watched silently as Azure was evaluating the change in the water as if he were one of those judges from one of those cooking competitions and such, Riolu having gulped in nervousness as he hoped that he had passed. He really wanted to get started on the next stage of his training, and passing this test was what he needed. [So... did I pass?]
"I have to say, I am certainly impressed with the progress that you managed in such a short time. It is in no doubt much sweeter compared to the first time you tried." Azure voiced as Riolu continued staring with another nervous gulp. "While it is certainly not nearly as much as Killua, Gon and I managed. You were only given two weeks, while we had four. This is still enough to pass."
[Yes! That means we can finally get started on the next training!] Riolu grinned as he raised both his arms up giving a cheerful cry. Azure had to admit, the progress in two weeks was impressive. While the progress wasn't as much as he had managed, it was very impressive nonetheless. [When are we going to start?!]
"Slow down, I'll tell you when we will begin the next phase of training. Also, I want you to continue training your Hatsu with water divination even if you passed this test." Azure responded as Riolu nodded his head in understanding. When it came to Nen training between them, Azure was the one that makes the calls. "Hm?"
[What's wrong, Azure?] Riolu wondered as his trainer suddenly reacted to something as he had glanced his eyes to the side and was seemingly focused on something. Azure didn't respond for a second as he continued staring off to the side, though gained a small smile before turning back to a still confused Riolu.
"It's nothing to worry about, Riolu. It's just that it seems that Gurkinn is facing off against Korrina and Lucario, though that unstable aura seems to still be present." Azure explained as Riolu widened his eyes slightly. He looked towards where Azure was looking and couldn't sense anything, was Azure's range that much better than his own?
[Azure really is that much far ahead of me, I couldn't even sense Lucario's aura at all. Yet, he did so with complete ease...] Riolu thought to himself. It was very obvious to him, the gap between them was massive. Riolu then gained a serious look as he looked down at his paw while clenching it. [I just need to train harder. I'll get stronger for sure!]
"Riolu."
[E-Eh?]
"Wanna go watch the battle?" Riolu looked to see that Azure was suddenly standing up a few away from the table they were currently at, having already packed away the glass of water that they just used. It seemed that Riolu was too concentrated in his thinking that he hadn't noticed Azure moving. Riolu blinked a few times before answering as he hopped down.
[S-Sure!]
"So, happening again, huh?"
[Looks like it] Riolu nodded as the both of them were now seen standing next to the group as both Gurkinn and Korrina were facing off against each other, with both of their Lucario facing off against one another. Both of them currently mega evolved and producing a strong wave of aura, though Korrina's Lucario was back to its rather unpleasant state.
They had only arrived back with the group after a short bit of time as when they had arrived, both Gurkinn and Korrina were already having their battle underway. Though, everything seemed to be going just as Azure was expecting it to go. Korrina's Lucario was once again going berserk as Gurkinn's Lucario was as calm as ever.
They all watched as the match went on with a constant flow, a flow that displayed Gurkinn's Lucario taking full control over the match as Korrina was unable to get Lucario to obey any of her given commands. Azure and Riolu knew for a fact that the match wasn't going to last much longer as this went on, anyone really could tell.
This was soon proven true when Gurkinn's Lucario charged up an Aura Sphere, which soon connected cleanly with Korrina's Lucario, sending the aura pokemon flying slightly before crashing to the ground. The impact having caused a small dust cloud to form, though it began to disperse, revealing Lucario groaning on the ground.
They all watched as Lucario began to release a familiar light that caused his body to begin altering back to his true state, though remaining unconscious as he was lying on the ground still without a single twitch. Gurkinn's Lucario soon changing back to normal as well as Gurkinn began walking over towards them.
"Our battle is over." Gurkinn stated strongly as Korrina had skated quickly over towards her Lucario before dropping down, frantically checking to make sure that the evolved pokemon wasn't doing fine. Gurkinn turned towards his own Lucario and nodded his head in satisfaction. "Well done, thank you for your assistance, Lucario."
"They've certainly got a lot of work ahead." Gurkinn didn't turn his gaze, though could tell McGinty had called out to him as the man walked on over to him with Azure and Riolu beside him. Ash and others having quickly rushed over towards Korrina and Lucario to check on the both of them to see if they were doing okay. Physically yes, but mentally... who knows.
"Gone berserk again, huh? It does seem that Lucario's aura is causing its mental state to go haywire, he's lucky the power of mega evolution is only temporary." Azure commented as he stared down at the downed form of Lucario. Riolu doing the same with his usual composed expression, though a hint of sadness and concern was on his face.
"It would seem so. Something needs to be done..." Gurkinn nodded as he began walking towards the group as Azure, Riolu and McGinty just watched silently as the grandfather of the young blonde girl approached them. Korrina having noticed her grandfather doing so as she turned her attention up at him while still on the ground.
"I-I don't understand... I just don't understand why!" Korrina shouted as small tears were seen creeping onto the corner of her eyes. Gurkinn just keeping his usual serious look while crossing his arms as Lucario was seen back up and sitting next to Korrina on the ground. "Even after mega evolving again, we still couldn't control it!"
"The only one's to blame for this situation are the both of you." Gurkinn stated strongly and bluntly as the others just listened, Korrina having gained a confused look along with Lucario as they looked into her grandfather's stern and seemingly angered expression. "Lucario, the reason that you go and get consumed by your aura is because of your overconfidence regarding your power. Attacking without listening to Korrina's command is nothing short of arrogant."
Gurkinn then turned his attention towards his granddaughter.
"Korrina, it is because you allow Lucario to go ahead and act this way shows me that you don't truly understand him. So, with the ways that things are going right now, becoming stronger is nothing more than a dream." Gurkinn reprimanded as they both listened to him. "The two of you have spent far too much time together. It is because you believe that you two truly understand one another, you have neglected the training which would make you stronger. It is this behaviour that is unbecoming of the Shalour Gym Leader."
'Kind of reminds me of Gon, Killua and I.' Azure thought to himself as he had spent a lot of time training and hanging out with them, they were his best friends in the entire world. Though, he had to admit that even he himself doesn't truly understand the both of them. He also had no doubt that they felt the same about each other and him. They all just went through things far too different from one another, it would be daunting to truly understand each other's lives.
"B-But... I just don't get this." Korrina stuttered slightly after having looked Lucario in the eyes for a second before looking back down. "We both had battled some much..."
"You complete fool!" Gurkinn shouted as he was very much visibly angry with the statement that Korrina had just spoken. The girl and her Lucario flinching from the scream as Ash and his friends were no different, McGinty, Azure and Riolu not affected at all by the shouting as they continued to watch.
Riolu having not been frightened at all by the sudden anger displayed by the old man as he had been scolded by none other than Azure during their journey, Azure being far more intimidating in comparison to the old man. Azure only did so to him when he really did something that annoyed the boy, and he made a vow to never do it again. It wouldn't be pleasant.
Azure, on the other hand, was unaffected as he himself had been scolded plenty of times back in his own world. More specifically, by the two masters that had taught him Nen. The first person being Wing, who was far less terrifying compared to Bisky, but still more intimidating compared to Gurkinn. The memory of Bisky scolding him made him shiver.
'Gurkinn's giving Korrina a serious lecture... reminds me of Bisky again. Maybe Killua was right about how people like them are always ready with something to scold someone younger than them with...'
|Flashback|
"Alright, let's get started, the three of you!"
"Osu!" Gon, Killua and also Azure had responded as the blonde known as Bisky was seen standing in front of the three of them while they were inside of what appeared to be a nicely furnished room, a room that seemed to be a part of a nice and peaceful building in a rather peaceful city as well. Not too much noise.
"So, what are we going to d- gah!" Gon was going to ask, but was suddenly bashed over the head by Bisky in a comical fashion as both Azure and Killua flinched back from the sudden attack as they sweatdropped when Gon gripped his head as a large thumping red bump appearing on his head. "Ow~! That really hurt! Why did you have to do that for?!"
"I'm just picking up where I had left off! So, are you an idiot, or not?!" Bisky shouted as she glared at the young boy who was still wailing around while holding onto the bump that was still very much red. Azure and Killua twitching their eyes slightly as they made the wise decision to keep their mouths shut. "The old man is notorious for being completely unreasonable! If he tells you to do something in only a months time, then it will probably take you a year... at least! There is no chance the three of you will defeat them in just a week!"
"But, we really need to save Kite! We need to get back to that place as soon as possible so that we can go and rescue him!" Gon shouted in response as he managed to relieve himself of the immense pain. Bisky grew confused as she rose an eyebrow while having both hands on her hips before asking. "Eh? What in the world are you talking about?"
"He means the situation we have concerning a dangerous species known as Chimera Ants. We saw them during our visit to the NGL." Azure explained simply as Bisky turned to look at him with curiosity. "We ended up encountering one that was immensely powerful, Kite gave us an opportunity to run, but he had to stay back to fight them off. We don't know what's happened..."
"Azure's right, and the power that we felt coming from that Chimera Ant was no joke." Killua agreed with a serious look on his face. The boys could only shiver and grit their teeth as the memory of the fear they felt upon gazing upon the aura of the enemy, it was honestly a terrifying sight to behold. Bisky holding her chin as she nodded her head in understanding.
"I see..." Bisky muttered. She then stayed silent for a second before regaining a comical angry expression as she pointed he index finger accusingly towards Gon, who was deadpanning as both Killua and Azure stayed back and watched as Bisky began to scold him. "That is another reason why you three can't rush your training! What if it happened again, huh?!"
"Azure..." Killua muttered as his eyes were shadowed comically as purple lines ran down the sides of his face. A large frown very much present on his face, though Azure seemed no different as they both seemed very much pleased they weren't being yelled at right now by the blonde."It's no wonder Bisky's so good at chewing people out..."
"Wh-What do you mean?"
"People her age... they're always ready with a damn lecture...!"
|Flashback End|
'Heh, memories I love and kind of don't want to keep...'
Azure couldn't help but stare at the scene in front of him in amusement despite the severity behind it, it just felt kind of nostalgic to him. Riolu having given the boy a confused look when he felt the emotions coming from his trainer, though didn't pry at all into what Azure was thinking as he turned his attention back to the scene.
"I am demanding you to once again go on a training journey!" Gurkinn shouted as they all looked towards him, also snapping Azure out of his thoughts as he and the others listened to the man as he had given a big sigh. "There is a trainer who has guided me since I was young who lives upon Pomace Mountain. This trainer also having a pokemon capable of mega evolving. I am certain they will be able to assist you in seeing beyond the surface of mega evolution."
"O-Okay..." Korrina muttered in understanding before gulping slightly as she wiped the tears out of her eyes. Azure felt like he should do something to help her, but this was something that she needed to learn. It was difficult, but it would certainly be beneficial for the future. Both her and Lucario standing up as they grew determined looks in their eyes.
'Lucario and Korrina. How will you come to terms with the power of mega evolution and to also learn how to use the power of the aura?' Gurkinn wondered as he began walking back over towards McGinty, Azure and Riolu after having returned his own Lucario to his Pokeball. Ash and his friends rushing over to Korrina and began conversing with her.
"She has certainly got a long road ahead of her, especially if she wants to get that whole ordeal with Lucario settled." Azure stated as Gurkinn had arrived and stopped in front of them. Gurkinn sighed and nodded his head, unable to disagree with the boy as he responded. "Indeed, she does. I just wish that she will be able to."
"Just have faith in her, she is your granddaughter, right? Plus, you said that you trust this trainer that lives on that mountain... Pomace Mountain, right? If you really do, then you have nothing you need to worry about." Azure chuckled slightly as they all looked as Korrina spoke with the group. Gurkinn smiled slightly as he nodded his head.
"I suppose..."
[Do you think she'll be able to do it, Azure? That aura we sensed from Lucario was anything but stable, it could prove dangerous not only to others, but themselves as well] Riolu frowned as he continued staring towards the blonde girl and her Lucario. Azure smiled and patted Riolu's head. "No worries, just have confidence in them. I have a feeling everything will be just fine."
"I certainly hope you two are right, if so, then the Shalour City Gym is looking towards a bright future." McGinty chuckled as his statement was directed at both Azure and Gurkinn. Gurkinn then gained a looked of realisation before turning towards Azure. "By the way, Azure. There is something I'd like to request of you."
"Hm? Is something the matter?"
"How would you say to a battle?"
