Just a teaser to try this idea out; more to come, but sorry for the length or lack thereof anyhow! I was flipping through my RP ideas, needing a bad guy, when I realized I already had a bad guy in the works. And here we are.

The desert was dark at night. Dark, cold, and empty. It was vast and wild. Nobody could claim it. They could try, of course, and try they did, but they never could control it all. There were always unexplored regions, places that nobody dared to go alone. It was lonely, barren, and deathly quiet there. He liked it that way. It gave him time to think.

And he had a lot to think about. As his dark eyes swept over his starlit domain, the vast bare kingdom of sand, he thought about it all.

Or, to be specific, he thought mostly about one thing. "Revenge" was a word that never quite fit what he felt, in the sense that it didn't sound nearly strong enough to convey the bitter anger that seethed inside him. But it would have to do.

Every night he prowled the desert like a phantom, shadowing troops, stealing supplies when his own ran low. He didn't mind the lifestyle. In fact, he almost liked it. It toughened him, helped him keep focused on his goal. It kept his mind sharp.

He needed it sharp. He couldn't afford to forget what he was going to do. Who he was going to do it to.
