I Don't Own RWBY
I was walking down a street at the moment, with my hands down to my side as I walked on, right now my attention was locked onto a woman that was walking towards me. Her purse was hanging limping from her hand, at a easy level to slip my hand into and snatch something from. I tried to not make it obvious that I was actually focusing on her, which I believe my blank expression made a bit easier as the two of us quickly approached the other.
Through repeated use, skill Pickpocket has leveled up
Blinking to myself, I waited a few seconds as I continued to walk before looking down at my hand at the card holder which in it's context had a number of Lien. I brought my inventory up to the side that the money was on before tossing it in as I walked. Afterwards I glanced at the status menu to my side to see the number of Lien bump up by a good two hundred. She had a lot on her. Still, I'm about one hundred and fifty away from one thousand Lien unfortunately. Well, at least this is good training for my newest skill. Thinking of, let's see what changed.
(Active) Pickpocket [Level 5]
A skill that allows the user to take an item or items off of or from a person
Items that can be taken at once: 2
DEX*15%= Bonus to success
Total bonus: 15%
The amount I can take at once has changed, but that's about it, still it's a nice bonus to it anyway. Now then, on to my next target. Looking forwards, it was a guy that seemed to be a bit drunk at the moment. I glanced up at the name above his head before instantly lowing my eyes and kept on walking, not even trying to pickpocket a guy whose level was high enough that it registered as two question marks. Failing to go unnoticed could be a fetal error.
After all, it's becoming a bit more clear about how no one really likes me because of my ears. I didn't really understand why as some didn't seem to care, while others would just sneer but it would be incorrect to say that Instinctive Warning hasn't gotten enough use to level up once so far. Maybe that should worry or annoy me more than it actually does, but really all it's done if confuse me about why something as small as a set of animal ears was something to go up in arms about.
Anyway, another person is walking towards me so I should focus on picking off the money off them. Glancing up to their head, just to make sure, I noted that they were only level six, nothing to probably worry about. So with that, as I walked by, I used the skill and then kept on walking. Really, while the main objective of this was to complete one of the objectives of my most recent quest, I have to say, the other reason why I wasn't just walking into a store or a mall to have a lot more easier targets close by was because I couldn't experience this city like that.
Because sure, while some of the people were rude and didn't like me, it wasn't like that really took away from the awe this place gave me. Well self reflection aside, I tossed the Lien into my inventory and watched as the counter went up a bit. I wonder why no one seems to carry any money in this city, I must be quite unluck- Oh, hey, I am in fact unlucky. I only have a one in that stat after all, that's probably the worst luck a person can have. I wonder how I could train that stat up.
It would have to revolve around random chance wouldn't it? I'd think so, which means... I could get a coin and flip it a couple times while predicting what side it would fall on. Or, maybe I could do something else. Yeah, that's an idea that I'm going to have to try out, I mean if it doesn't work then oh well, but if it does, then it'll make at least one of my stats a bit easy to level up. Now then, onto the next person I see, they're a level five.
Now then, time to try this out. With that, I reached into my inventory and pulled out a large stack of coins which was equal to about twenty Lien, so it was a lot. I hope this works because the clean up will take a while. With that, I threw my hand out and tossed the hundreds of coins in front of me while saying out loud that half was land on tails and the other half would be heads. With that I watched as they all crashed and rolled around for a moment before they all stopped

Huh, that's better than I was expecting to be honest, and I even got some more INT from it as well. And as it stands now, my luck stat is my highest stat at a fourteen at the moment, so that's nice. Though, now I have to spend the next little while trying to gather these coins back up. That's going to take a bit. Next time I do this, I should throw them all into a bucket or something.
Oh well, time to get to work. If I'm lucky then this will count as DEX training or something weird like that.
Bullets were what I was currently needing to get, but as it happens, as I looked around the weapon shop I was currently standing in, I couldn't help but wonder what this dust stuff was about. There were rounds of the stuff under a glass counter so I just walked up to it and used Observe to see what all the fuss was about.
Fire Dust Round
Rank: B
A crystal of fire dust that was made to be compatible with most standard firearms.
Dust Round shots remaining: 30
Bonus to base damage: 30 Fire
Cost: 500 Lien
Oh... I was looking at one casing but that alone both costed a lot and could be shot thirty times. No wonder Slate's Memento could only hold three of those things, anymore and it would be considered broken, I mean already, that's considered as ninety bullets, all of which so a bonus of thirty extra damage. No wonder the cost was so crazy, though this leads to another question. If I got four of those would it count as three bullets or one hundred twenty, or would it count at all because they aren't technically lead bullets?
"Are you just going to continue to window shop or are you going to buy something you mutt?" Mutt?...Oh a racist term for canine faunus, which I would fall under as a fox, I see. Looking up at the slightly over weight woman behind the counter I thought about what I wanted to say for a moment before settling on.
"I would like to buy some ammunition for a handgun" I would have just stolen it but I doubt I could get away with that while this lady was looking at me so closely along with the fact that everything I would have wanted to steal was behind the counter or in the glass counter which would make getting to it quite difficult. It didn't really matter to much to be honest, as with my newly increased luck, I had managed to get a bit over the required one thousand that the quest asked for and I didn't really have anything else to spend things on.
"No" I blinked, mostly because I was unsure why she would say that as it had yet to happen to me. So I just looked at her for another moment before asking.
"Why not?" She just gave me a grin, but it wasn't like the ones that my friends had given me before they left, no this one was more... vindictive. Yes that's the word, vindictive.
"Because I don't want a filthy thing like you to go join up with those animals in the White Fang. You could say I'm doing my civil duty...Now get out of my shop you mutt!" I am unaware of what the White Fang is but she seemed to have already come up with a conclusion on her own. I thought about trying to make a point or say something, but the fact that she was standing behind a wall full of mostly fully automatic weaponry dissuaded me from that idea.
"Alright" With that I walked out of the store while wondering where the next nearest shop would be for me to get some extra ammunition. After all, I needed bullets if I wanted to get my handgun skill up high enough to reach the quest requirement. Sure I could focus on the others but Strong Hit would take a while and I'm already using Aura Enhance every time I have enough Ap to use it. So far it's gone up to level four and if I'm right, I should have it at level five before the day is out.
"Hey, I saw what happened" I blinked to myself as I turned to look at who had spoken. It was a person, just a guy, with weird white mask on with red hair. I wondered what the mask was about for a moment before deciding that I didn't really care much about it. Instead I just wondered what I was suppose to say to this person as I'm not the best at talking. Thankfully, this guy, Adam Taurus apparently from the words above his head, seemed fine with continuing on the conversation himself.
"It's wrong what just happened to you, and what's happening to our kind" He said it and then paused, like he was expecting me to say something or have some kind of reaction but I was more interested in his level. It was pretty high at the moment, forty. Though what he said did catch some of my attention, I just didn't outwardly see a reason to show it. He was a faunus as well, that was sort of interesting though not very, it's not like he's the first I've met besides myself. Still, when I didn't say anything, he just continued on.
"So, what would you say about getting some revenge? I mean, that human has been turning our kind down since they opened their doors. A little pay back is only fair right?" Oh? I wonder what that's about- oh, a new quest window, I didn't know I could have more than one at a time, that's interesting.
Quest Created
The White Fang's New Recruit
You've been approached by Adam Taurus a high ranking member of the White Fang, a terrorist group with the desire to gain faunus equal rights in any way necessary no matter the means, and he wants you to join! All you have to do is rob the store that let you two to meet each other.
Requirements:
-Attack the shop that declined you and cause at least five hundred Lien in property damage
-Steal at least two thousand Lien in items
-[Optional] Kill the owner
Rewards:
-1,200 Exp
-New title: White Fang Member
-New Item: Grimm Mask
-Joining the White Fang
Accept?
Oh, so that's what the White Fang is...Nah, I'm good. The rewards are nice and it would help with my other quest but I don't want to join some organization, that sounds like a lot of me being told what to do, which I wouldn't be a fan of. Not to mention, that lady just told me to go away, I don't see why that is enough of a reason to join up with some terrorist organization, trash and rob her store, and possible kill her. That just seems like an extreme reaction to a minor inconvenience, not to mention it would just make people hate the faunus even more, which makes there whole group counter productive to be honest.
"I'd rather not" Adam's face turned into one that I would have to call rage, just for a moment, before disappearing back into a calm expression that was probably about as fake as me having any expression at all. After a moment of him looking at me, though I wasn't really sure with the thing over his eyes, he just smiled a small bit and said to me.
"I see, have a nice life then" And with that he turned and walked away. I watched him go for a few moments before he got lost in the crowd, well, more accurately he just seemed to disappear. This wasn't what I was expecting to have happen today. Oh well, time to move on to the next thing I have to do, which is still the same thing as earlier, just the shop I wanted to buy from doesn't want to sell to me. So time to find another store.
It was two shops later but I was now standing in a store that I had already made sure that the owner didn't have a problem with me. It was slightly annoying but other than that I was more a bit glad that I could get the items I've been needing for a while now.
"I need ten of those boxes of twenty bullets and ten magazines that can match this gun" The man just nodded and began to pull out the requested bullets. I had already checked the costs of them all with Observe and pulled out the required amount of Lien. Four hundred and fifty Lien to be accurate. I would have bought a couple dust rounds as well but for the shop didn't sell dust, just normal weapons and ammo.
"These can hold up to fifteen, and while I would say you wouldn't need this many, I know how hunters are, so the least I can do is toss a discount in for all your buying. It'll be four hundred Lien even. Oh and would you like a bag?" I...was not expecting this to be honest. Still, I shook my head while retracting the need funds from what I had been planning on giving him while sliding the boxes of ammo to me while the man, named Brock, pulled out the rest of the magazines I had asked for.
"My semblance let's me store stuff" I wasn't sure why I felt the need to explain what I was doing, but if I had to guess, it would be because he was being nice to me and while I'm not one for conversation, it would be rude to ignore him. He just nodded at my lackluster words with a faint smile as I deposited the boxes of ammo along with the empty mags that I would have to fill at a later point.
"That's pretty handy, I know a few people that would love something like that for transporting there stores items. Anyway, next time you run low, let me know and I'll stock you back up" I nodded at that and was about to leave when something caught the corner of my eyes. On one of the walls was a short blade, I wasn't sure why, but I walked up to, and looked the thing over for a long moment before a voice caught me off my thoughts.
"Interested? It's not the best blade out there but it's handy and easy to conceal, though I don't you'd have much trouble with that last one" He said it in a humorous tone as he walked up to the extended blade before twisting something on the handle, and just like that the blade retracted into the handle like a sheath. It reminded me of something like a extendable baton. I just looked over the blade for a moment before Observing it.
Retractable Short Blade-
Rank: D
A short blade that is designed to collapse into it's handle when not in use
Base Damage: 25 STR
Cost: 250 Lien
It wasn't all that grand of a weapon but I liked it, it both reminded me something of Teal while also being different enough that it would still be my own thing. Plus, I liked the idea of it being retractable, it added to it in a way that I liked for some reason. And of course while it wasn't that fancy, I could also mess around with it to get started with another set of weapon mastery and maintenance skills. Not to mention I could learn to make another one to get the quality higher over time of using Manufacture.
"I'd like to buy it" He smiled at that and moved back over to the resister, giving me the unneeded to be total price as I pulled out the needed funds from my inventory as I handed it over as he gave me the blade. I looked it over for a moment before noticing the grip on the handle had two buttons on it, pushing both at different times didn't do anything so I gripped the handle in a way that both buttons were pressed and just like that the blade shot out.
"Already figured it out huh? Well then, good luck then, and I hope to see you soon for a refill on bullets" I gave him a nod as I looked over the blade for a moment before retracting it back into the handle, then tossing it into my inventory. With that, I walked out of the store into the afternoon sun, looked around for a moment before walking towards the entrance of the city. I needed to find an open space to train without being bugged.
And I happen to know that a forest is nearby which would serve the needed space for such a thing. So with that I walked onward towards that forested area, while wondering slightly, what should I buy for dinner tonight. Because I have to admit, food is really good.
It had been about an hour and so far, I was still standing in the middle of this slightly wooded area at the moment, with Slate's Memento raised up as I aimed it at the trees in front of me. The area I was pointing at had all of the bark ripped off, with a chuck of the tree missing as well. It came from unloading about sixty bullets into the tree. Make that seventy-five, as my gun clicked empty.
I waited a moment, and was about to give up when two messages popped up in front of me, the first was telling me that my DEX had been improved from sharpshooting, like it had the last two times I had gotten a message so I just dismissed it knowing what it would say. And then I read the other, a pleasant feeling filling me a small bit as I pulled up the skill it was talking about.
(Passive) Handgun Mastery [Level 5]-
The User's ability to freely use Handgun based firearm weaponry
30% more damage with Handgun based weaponry
15% Faster reloading and firing speed
It had taken a while and a lot of bullets but in the end it was worth it to have that big of a boost, so with that I quickly changed out the mag in my gun before tossing it back into my inventory to reload the other magazines at a later time. But for now I wanted to use my newest weapon. Pulling it out of my still open inventory I pressed the needed buttons and in an instant the blade came out of the handle.
I'm not fully certain that this would actually level up Strong Hit when I'll be getting a skill that's basically the same thing in the form of a blade master skill, but it doesn't hurt to have either way and using a blade with it's natural bonus to damage for being a weapon is just better to use. Of course if it doesn't work like I am hoping it does then I'll just punch the tree for a while as well, it would just take a bit more time.
With that, I pulled my arm back a bit before slicing my blade across the trunk of the beaten tree. It cut in a decent bit, but it wasn't anything special. So I just did it again, then again, and over and over a few more times until.
[Skill Created]
Through repeated attacks with a bladed weapon, the User has created a new Skill: Blade Mastery
(Passive) Blade Weapon Mastery [Level 1]-
The User's ability to freely use Bladed weaponry
10% more damage with bladed weaponry
5% Faster attack speed
Yeah, I had figured it would be something like that, but it doesn't hurt to make sure, though of course I'll have to look into blade maintenance as a skill later as well, but for right now I should focus on the last required skill I need to my quest to be completed. So with that I set down the short blade before pulling back a fist before smashing it into the tree. It hurt a small bit but it went away quickly enough, so with that I pulled back my other hand and punched the tree once more.
Then again, and again, and a couple more times until I got a box to pop up telling me that Strong Hit had gone up by one while STR had also improved by one point. It was seem I'm on the right track then. Now, time to keep on going. It is quite convenient that the pain fades away only after a second or two, it makes doing this more of a trivial matter than one of drawn out pain. Time to get back to work.
It had bee a few hours and I was now enjoying a nice dinner while looking over my stats at the moment, I had completed the quest but hadn't yet accepted the rewards, mostly because I wanted to enjoy some food before I looked it all over before turning in for the night. But to sum it all up in terms of stat gain, STR had gone up by four and VIT went up as well, if only by two points. And since I just finished my food, I moved the quest in front of me again to accept the rewards from it.

Skills: Stealth, Lock Picking, Sleight of Hand, and Pickpocket all have an extra 25% chance of succeeding
Blueprint unlocked: Bag
Ok? The last one was a bit random all things considered, but the others all make since, though the title named 'Little Sneak' I felt was a small bit more insulting though I didn't really care much about the accurate description it gave of me. Though I haven't even unlocked two of the three skills that title gave a bonus to so that's something I guess. It's there if I ever need it I guess, but since I'm planning on heading out soon, Outsider is still the better title to use at the moment.
Now then, speaking of going back out into the non kingdom controlled lands. Where should I go? I'm not really sure to be honest, I just kind of want to explore and since I don't really need to eat, I could honestly just pick a direction and go. But still, I should prepare a few meals just to have something to enjoy on the road and get a bucket for more luck stat training as I feel like getting Critical Hit's chance of activating up to a higher amount will save me a lot of Hp down the line.
And I also want to get one of those dust rounds as well, just to mess around with as they seem to be something quite interesting to use, not to mention, when I used observe it was only on the first one I saw, and it happened to be red, which turned out to be a fire round. But there were other colors, from white to yellow to black. Each one probably had a different property than the rest. And I just got another INT point for that, so I'm probably right.
Anyway, I can think more about that a bit later, but for right now I want to look over this blade of mine for a while, see if I can get a maintenance skill from it and then go to sleep as while I don't need it, for some reason I seem to find the waking up part to be quite refreshing.
I was on a street at the moment, mostly just doing something I've found to be surprisingly enjoyable. People watching, I had firstly done it to just power level Body Language as I wanted to learn a bit more about expressions and other things that come with the skill, but I've come to actually enjoy it. It gave me an interesting perspective about what other people's lives are like. I found it fascinating to be honest. Not to mention me spending about an hour just studying people I've also surprisingly enough gotten two points in WIS and three in CHR so there was that.
I wasn't really sure why I got CHR points form it but I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that I'm studying how people are interacting which people interaction is kind of what the Charisma stat is there for so I guess it makes some sense. Though like it normally is when I'm not going out of my way to train up a skill or stat, this was just a side bonus. Though thinking of status, I spent a while, well most of the night, dumping coins over and over again. At some point it just stopped leveling up, even after about almost one hundred or so coin spills.
So at the moment my LUC is stuck at forty. I can't tell if there was just a sudden, very sharp, experience curve or my semblance can only be leveled up one way for so long before it just stops working. Either way, my luck is now over double my second highest stat so there's that. Still, besides my Critical Hit's chance of working shooting up to eight percent, I'm not really sure what I could use luck for. Maybe gambling? It would be a quick way to make money I guess, though I do believe I would be underaged for such a thing.
Though I could probably pass for a older person if I tried, and with a new set of clothes that I really should look into getting at some point. I could probably manage it. Just because I'm slightly under average in height doesn't really mean much as I'm sure a number of men are both old enough to gamble and shorter than I am. Well, still, those are thoughts for maybe a later point as these thoughts have reminded me that I should get some new clothes, as these one's I'm wearing now is a bit old, not to mention a bit bland.
Oh? Is that something new? I don't believe I've cared much about fashion before in the past, or maybe it just wasn't on my priority list. More than likely a mix of both knowing how long it seems to take me to learn new things about myself. Now then, I do believe I have something else to do today. So with that I stood up from my table in which I had been drinking this thing called milk which I had to get to be allowed to sit in a chair from outside a restaurant. I've had a lot of milk in the last hour, but it tasted nice and it was weirdly cheap.
Now I just have to think about what kind of outfit I want to get. Besides the fact that I know it'll have to be made to last with the life I'm planning on leading and designed for the male body in mind, I don't actually know what kind of fashion sense I have to be honest, so this is going to be an interesting and learning experience.
The next chapter is going to start with his new outfit which is going to be something I'm going to have to guess about to an extreme, because I know nothing about fashion. I know what works for me, but that's because my family is primarily females and they wouldn't let me leave the house if I was wearing something terrible without knowing it. Not to say they would fix my mistakes, they would just make sure I knew I looked like a closet threw up on me. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that I always have a bit of a hard time when designing outfits for my characters. Which is why I normally chose to be slightly vague. Though that isn't going to probably work for the next chapter so screw me and my bad decision making I guess. Anyway, See ya.
