Hi Guy! I'm Delaney and I am your author for this story. This is Her Power In Time, as I have already uploaded this to Wattpad a few weeks ago I have gotten a lot of comments saying this is like Debt of Time. Which is what this story is based on, there will be completely different character developments and elements to this story so trust me it is different from Debt of Time in later chapters. Thank you to my Beta Rhi for editing my chapters. If I don't upload for a few weeks at a time it is not because I am abandoning this story it is because school is very crazy right now so please be patient. I hope you enjoy and please like and review this story

'We're losing…' Hermione Granger thought as she dodged another Crucio headed her way. She was in the great hall where the last members of the Order were fighting valiantly.

They'd already lost most of the Weasley's. Fred who'd been crushed by a wall, and George who had been too distracted by his brother's death, sobbing and screaming, writhing in the death of his twin brother, to notice the Avada sent his way.

Bill and Molly both lost their duels against Bellatrix Lestrange, who spared no mercy when it came down to their final moments, making sure they died slowly and painfully.

After a heartfelt reunion with his estranged son on the edge of the Hogwarts grounds, Arthur was hit with a Sectumsempra by Lucius Malfoy, knocking him off the edge and sending him plummeting into the abyss. Malfoy nearly got away but before he could, Percy, determined to avenge his father's death, sent a conjunctivitis curse, temporarily blinding him, giving Percy the chance to bring an end to his life.

Draco Malfoy was fiercely dueling Kingsley Shacklebolt, when he sent a Transmogrifain torture curse, killing him as he writhed in agony. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched as his father fell from the cliffs of Hogwarts. Although he never particularly felt any love for his father, Draco felt it was his duty to defend his father's legacy. He sent an Avada Kedavra towards the red-haired man who committed the murder of his father, killing him instantly.

Other members of the Order suffered the same cruel fate. Though she was a well trained Auror, Nymphadora Tonks suffered horribly while getting caught in the crossfire of a Confrigo that caused her to be crushed by a boulder. Remus watched as his mate, wife, and mother to his child died.

Neville suffered a fate worse than death. After Bellatrix killed Bill and Molly Weasley, she searched for the Longbottom boy. She made sure he got a life with his parents, in the Crucio ward of St. Mungos after being tortured into insanity.

Luna watched in horror as Neville slowly lost his sanity right in front of her. She was pulled back roughly by the neck, then pushed to the ground by Fenrir Greyback, who shredded her into bits the moment he got his hands on her. He stole all humanity left in her, biting and scratching until there was no life left in her body, her eyes left staring blankly at the sky.

Remus, still mourning and heartbroken over the loss of his mate, tried to find some sign of a survivor. Looking for hope that The-Boy-Who-Lived was still fighting strong, and that there was some glimpse of victory.

Hermione dueled Yaxley hitting him with as many hexes and curses as she could muster feeling the weight of her old time turner on her neck. Although it was broken and rendered useless she still wore it as a reminder of the more simpler time in her life. Yaxley sent a Flipendo in her direction. She blocked it with a Protego.

"EXPELLIARMUS'' Hermione shouted, seizing Yaxley's wand in her grasp.

"YOU LITTLE MUDBLOOD BITCH!" Yaxley snarled, "YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!"

"Stupefy!" the curly-haired witch yelled as she aimed her spell at Yaxley, hitting him square in the chest. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Ron trip as Nott Sr. closed in on him, Ron's own wand in hand.

"RON! LOOK OUT!" She yelled, praying he could get out of the way in time. She watched as Harry ran towards Nott Sr., tackling him to the ground. Ron jumped backwards and grabbed his wand from Nott Sr.'s hand. Ginny noticed her brother's attacker and ran towards them to help Harry finish him off. She watched as Harry got pinned underneath Nott Sr., fighting to regain control. Ron ran towards his sister and held her back, keeping her at bay. Nott Sr. noticed this and released Harry, grabbing his wand and running towards the siblings.

"BOMBARDIA!" Nott Sr. screamed, aiming at the siblings. Hermione and Harry watched in horror as the two Weasleys blew up in a cloud of smoke.

"RON!" Hermione screamed as she mourned for her friend, and brother.

"GINNY!" Harry yelled, as he witnessed the death of Ginerva Weasley, the love of his life, his heart shattering for his best friend and girlfriend. "RON!" he yelled, as if he was in pain. He was losing everything. Hermione ran to him and clutched him in a tight embrace. The once 'Golden Trio' now cried into each other's shoulders as they became a duo. They hadn't noticed the elder Nott pointing his wand in their direction.

Remus found Charlie Weasley through the rubble and bodies of his former students and friends. They both went in search of Harry, praying to Merlin that he was still alive. They found Harry and Hermione in a tight embrace sobbing into eachothers arms, clutching each other like a lifeline. Charlie then knew he was the last of his family left. He saw Nott Sr. walking slowly towards the duo wand in hand, an Unforgivable on his lips. He knew what he had to do.

"AVAD-" Nott Sr. began to yell, before he was interrupted by a ginger haired wizard,

"NO!" Charlie yelled as he jumped in front of the duo, getting struck in the chest with a green flash. The last of the Weasleys fell, joining his family in glory. Charlie gave Remus enough time to Stupefy Nott Sr. and send him over the edge of the battle field. Remus walked over to Hermione and Harry.

"It's over" Remus said in defeat "It's just us." The duo looked up at their former Professor with tear filled eyes.

"All we have to do is kill the snake," Hermione said in a small voice. "It's the last horcrux, once the snake is gone Voldemort can be defeated." She said, regaining a small amount of hope.

"Not exactly" Harry told her, his voice filled with grief and sadness.

"Harry, what are you talking about?" She asked in a confused tone. "We have the ring, the locket, the cup, the diadem, the diary and soon we will have the snake that's all six."

"There's something I never told you 'Mione" Harry said in a small voice.

"You can tell me anything Harry you know that, now what is it." Hermione asked, slightly annoyed that he would keep something regarding the horcruxes from her .

"There's a seventh horcrux, one that Voldemort never intended to make." Harry said, sadness in his voice.

"Well where is it? We have time Harry, we can destroy it and end all of this." Hermione asked impatiently, waiting for her friend to inform her of the important news.

"Hermione, I'm the seventh horcrux." Harry said, voice shaking with fear. Hermione stood completely still, shocked with the fact that her best friend would have to die.

"Harry, are you sure?" Remus said, eyes wide with uncertainty and fear for losing Harry.

"It's the only thing that makes sense. Hermione i'm a parselmouth, only descendants of Salazar Slytherin have that ability. You know who is a direct descendant and has that ability? Voldemort" Harry said trying to convince her that he was indeed a horcrux.

"Harry, that doesn't mean you're a horcrux. There are plenty of reasons why you're a parselmouth. It doesn't mean that your a-a…" She knew it was true, but she just didn't want to believe what that would mean.

"Mione, when Snape died he gave me his memories, right? Well I watched them, and there was so much more to the story then we thought." Harry informed her. "He was in love with my mother, and when Voldemort killed her, Snape became a spy for the order. He has been protecting me for years."

"Protecting you? Harry, Snape has been nothing but terrible to you- to all of us- since first year." Hermione said slightly confused as to why Harry was defending her former potions professor.

"My dad and Sirius used to prank and bully him, for years, Hermione. Everyone says I look exactly like my dad. He had to look into the face of a man who bullied him for years 'Mione. I don't blame him for treating me like that because he had to look into the face of a man who tormented him for years. Especially because I'm the son of his enemy and the woman he loves. That's why he asked me to look into his eyes while he died. He wanted to look into my mother's eyes, one last time."

"Remus, is that true?" Hermione asked curiously.

"Well, I don't know about the Snape being in love with Lily part. But James and Sirius were not kind to Severus growing up. I was part of it as well really seeing as I did nothing to stop it. Lily and him were quite close up until the end of their 5th year. I suppose it could be true." Remus said, recalling his younger years with a bit of regret.

"But Harry, that still doesn't explain how that makes you a horcrux" Hermione pointed out, still praying it wasn't true.

"Snape showed me a conversation between himself and Dumbledore. It was about the prophecy. Dumbledore talked about how, when Voldemort killed my mother, he created an accidental horcrux that attached to the only living thing near it. Me'' Harry said gravely. "Dumbledore talked about how I must die in order for Voldemort to be truly defeated. If I don't die he will keep coming back, Hermione."

"Harry, there has to be another way!" Hermione cried. Remus looked at Harry gravely knowing it to be the truth.

"There isn't and even if there was we don't have time." Harry said, he came to terms with what he must do. "One of you has to kill the snake, and once Voldemort kills me, one of you has to use the killing curse. It's the only way."

"Harry-" Hermione started.

"Hermione, I can't let him win. I'm sorry but it has to be this way." He said in a calm voice that almost made everything seem okay.

"I've already lost Ron, I can't lose you." She cried, jumping forward and pulling him into a tight embrace, his head lost in her curls.

"You'll never lose me." He whispered. "I'll always be with you. Always."

The two got lost in their own little world not even noticing Voldemort apparate behind them with his death eaters in tow.

"AVADA KEDAVRA" Voldemort shouted pointing at Remus.

"NO!" Harry and Hermione cried together. Remus fell to the ground, wide eyed staring at the cloudy sky above him.

"Harry Potter! Your time has come to an end!" Voldemort sounded with a booming voice.

"Never, Tom! You'll pay for all you've done!" Harry retorted.

"Don't make me laugh boy! I'm stronger than you'll ever be!" Voldemort scoffed. "I've taken everything from you. But before I kill you, I'll kill this little Mudblood friend of yours!"

Before Harry could even see what was happening, Voldemort yelled out a curse pointed directly at Hermione.

"Sectumsempra!" Voldemort yelled.

"NO!" Harry stood in front of Hermione, letting the curse hit his chest, and fell to the ground beside her. Hermione collapsed beside him as his blood pooled around them.

"Play dead 'Mione." Harry whispered in pain. "Just until they leave."

She laid beside him, listening to his instruction, wishing that she could reach out and heal him. They had Narissca Malfoy check their pulses. Hermione held her breath, slowing down her heart rate enough to trick the blond haired women. She checked Harry's next and told the Dark Lord that he had minutes. They decided to let him die alone, and in pain while they told the students that remained of his defeat. They soon apperated away, leaving Hermione to sit up and hold a dying Harry in her lap.

"Hermione, I don't have much time." Harry struggled to speak, the cuts in his chest getting deeper, and he was losing more and more blood.

"Harry don't talk like that!" she cried over his body.

"Hermione I love you so much, but this is the end." Harry spoke wincing in pain. "Ca-can you sing that song my mum used to sing for me?"

"Harry, what are you talking about?" She asked.

"Remember at Christmas I had that dream of my mum singing me a lullaby after a nightmare?" He asked

(Flashback to Christmas 1997)

"Hermione" Harry whispered, shaking her awake. "Happy Christmas 'Mione."

"Happy Christmas Harry." She said meaningfully, and it was. Even though you couldn't have the usual Christmas with the Weasley's, they were still together. Harry walked towards the small fire pit outside of the tent, where he had already put a kettle of tea over the fire. Hermione followed him outside, sitting on a log while Harry handed her a cup of tea.

"I had a really strange dream last night" Harry told Hermione.

"Was it a Voldemort dream? Harry, you can't let him in like that!" Hermione said with worry.

"No, Hermione. It was a dream about my mum." Harry said reflection fondly on the dream.

"Your mum?" Hermione said curiously, taking another sip of her tea.

"Yeah, she was looking over me and singing a lullaby." Harry said. "It sounded so familiar, so...calming."

"You've never dreamed about your mum before Harry, are you sure it was her?" Hermione asked worried that it was another trick from Voldemort.

"Yeah, and my dad was looking down on me and singing it with her." Harry said dreamily.

"Well that sounds wonderful Harry." Hermione said, happy for her best friend to finally have a good memory of his parents. "Do you want to sing it for me?"

"Sure, I'd love to." Harry said, beginning to sing the lullaby while Hermione cuddled against his chest in front of the warm fire.

(Flashback to March 28th, 1998. Shell Cottage)

Harry awoke at 3 in the morning to the sound of an ear piercing scream coming from the room beside him. 'Hermione'...he thought as he grabbed his wand and jumped out of bed to find out what the problem was.

"NO! IT'S A FAKE I SWEAR!" Hermione screamed, as tears streamed down her face. 'A nightmare' Harry thought, as he put up a silencing charm so the screams didn't wake the whole cottage up.

"Hermione, wake up it's just a nightmare!" Harry shook her, trying to wake her up.

"NO! I SWEAR-Harry?" She said as she awoke her voice shaking from fear. She pulled him into a tight embrace, gripping his shoulders as she cried into the crook of his neck. "It felt so real, she was on top of me and-."

"Shhh, it's okay. You're safe. She can't hurt you anymore." He whispered, consoling the sobbing curly haired witch.

"Ca-can you stay with me? Just until I fall asleep." She asked, calming down slightly.

"I'm not going anywhere" He said, pulling her into a tight hug as they fell back onto her bed.

"Harry, this is going to sound weird. But can you sing for me? My mom used to sing to me after I had a nightmare and I just-." She said, being cut off by Harry.

"Sure, 'Mione. What do you wanna hear? Some Radiohead, or Oasis?" He said, trying to make her laugh. She chuckled slightly.

"No, what about that lullaby you heard your mum sing in that dream" She said

"Sure." He said as he started to sing…

(End of Flashbacks)

"Yeah." She did remember it. It was beautiful, and Harry sang it to her everytime she had a nightmare while they were on the run.

"Can you sing that to me?" He asked. He wanted to hear her voice. She didn't sing a lot, but when she did he loved it. They'd been busy the last couple years finding secret chambers, helping an escaped murderer, and going on the run that she didn't really have time to do it. But he wanted to listen to her in his final moments.

"Of course, Harry" She cried over his dying body and began to sing.

"Where the northwind meets the sea…" She began.

"There's a river full of memory

Sleep, my darling, safe and sound

For in this river all is found"

Harry, struggling to find air, just sat back and listened to the angelic voice above him. She continued with a shaky voice.

"In her waters, deep and true,

Lie the answers and a path for you

Dive down deep into her sound

But not too far or you'll be drowned."

She struggled to continue, as she felt Harry's breaths getting shallower...

"Yes, she will sing to those who'll hear

And in her song, all magic flows

But can you brave what you most fear?

Can you face what the river knows?"

Harry's blood was still pooling all around her, but she continued on, feeling his body starting to go limp.

"Where the north wind meets the sea

There's a mother full of memory.

Come, my darling, homeward bound

When all is lost, then all is found."

Hermione was sobbing now, knowing that Harry's time was coming to an end.

"Her-Hermione…" Harry struggled to get out.

"Yes, Harry?" She said, trying to wipe away her tears and stay strong for her dying friend.

"I need you to promise me, you'll fight. Until the very end. Don't give up and stay strong. I-I will always be with you. I love you 'Mione." He said as his eyes slowly shut and his breathing stopped. Her breath hitched as his body went limp. She pulled his body to her chest and hugged him, kissing his forehead where his lighting scar resided.

"THE MUDBLOOD STILL LIVES!" She heard Voldemort's voice boom from behind her. She remembered her promise to Harry, to fight until the very end. She lay Harry's body on the ground, grabbed her wand and began to run. She ducked behind a wall and saw a classroom not far from where she was. She made a run for it, her time turner jangling against her chest from underneath her shirt.

"Stupefy!" She heard from behind her and suddenly her whole body was frozen. Hermione was levitated towards the herd of death eaters.

"So, the last of the golden trio falls...finally." Voldemort spat with a satisfying grin. "This is going to be fun."

She closed her eyes trying to fight off the enchantment on her. She heard voices from the Death Eaters as they all shot spells in her direction...but they weren't the simple Crucio's or Avada Kedavra's. They wanted her to suffer. She could hear 3 spells that she recognized, the last she'd never heard before. She was released from her frozen form and slumped to the ground.

"GLACIUS!"

"INCENDIO!"

"CONFRINGO!"

"ALTERUS BELANDIO!"

The spells all hit her time turner, sending her into a spiraling abyss. She could feel her magical core absorb a massive amount of energy. Sending her magic into a state of shock.

Her body felt like it was frozen and on fire at the time. The pain was unbearable. She couldn't tell what was happening to her. She felt her bones crack and break as she screamed in pain. Hermione could feel herself moving in a spiral as though she was stuck in some sort of tornado.

Hermione heard one final crack before the world around her became black.
