September 1st, 1971

Mia and James woke up with a start, looking at each other with the same smile on their faces.

"WE'RE GOING TO HOGWARTS!" They cheered. James started to grab his clothes, while Mia ran to her room to put on the outfit she'd laid out the night before. She pulled on a black pleated skirt, a red cashmere sweater which she tucked into the skirt, and shiny black ballet flats. She called her mother into her room to help her pull her hair into a high ponytail.

"How are you feeling?" Euphemia asked her daughter, brushing her hair.

"Nervous, so nervous. I'm glad I have James and Remus." Mia confessed to her. "I'm nervous about the sorting. James has told me all about the houses, and I read about them in 'Hogwarts: A History'."

"Whatever house you end up in, just know your father and I will be proud of you." Euphemia told her, attempting to calm her nerves. "Even Hufflepuff." She told her, chuckling slightly. Fleamont had been a Gryffindor, and Euphemia, a Slytherin.

Mia chuckled slightly. She didn't know how they got sorted. Was it a test? Did she have to study for it? It wasn't in 'Hogwarts: A History', and her parents refused to tell her. Once Euphemia was done, she called for Fleamont to take Mia's trunk downstairs. They all gathered in the living room and decided to apparate to King's Cross. Mia held on to Fleamont, while James held onto Euphemia.

King's Cross was a simple train station full of muggles. She felt out of place in her wizarding clothes. They went towards Platforms 9 and 10, but Mia couldn't see 9 ¾.

"Where's the Platform Dad?" Mia asked curiously.

"All you have to do is run through the wall of Platforms 9 and 10." He explained simply. "Your mother will go with James first, then you and I will follow." Euphemia grabbed ahold of James' cart, and had James do the same. They ran towards the brick wall and suddenly disappeared. Fleamont grabbed Mia's cart with one hand and motioned for Mia to do the same. They both ran towards the wall and she suddenly saw a huge black train, surrounded by young wizards and witches with their parents.

Mia looked in wonder at the train and all the people. She looked around, trying to spot Remus in the crowd. She saw him in a sea of people and told her parents she was going to say hello. She ran towards him and pulled him into a hug.

"Mia! Hi!" Remus said, shocked that the girl just hugged him.

"Remus! How was your summer? We're still sitting on the train together, right?" Mia said, looking over him. He had a few more scars on his face than before. She noticed a man and woman behind him. The woman had dirty blonde hair cut into a bob, blue eyes, and wore blue muggle jeans and a grey sweater. The man wore a scowl on his face, had short brown hair and brown eyes, and he wore muggle jeans as well with a loose button-down.

"Hi, I'mMia Potter. It's a pleasure to meet you." Mia said, holding her hand out to the couple. The woman smiled at the young girl taking her hand and shaking it.

"Hope Lupin, Remus's mother. It's a pleasure to meet you." Remus' mother said warmly, releasing Mia's hand. Mia held her hand out to the man. He turned away from her to look at Remus.

"Have a good year and I'll see you at Christmas." He said coldly. "I'll be waiting in the car." He told his wife before walking away. Mia wondered if she said something wrong. Remus was about to apologize when she heard a voice from behind her.

"Mia!" James shouted. The Potters had decided to catch up with their daughter, and introduced themselves to Hope Lupin.

"James this is Remus, Remus this is my twin brother James." She said, introducing the two boys. They shook hands.

Hope Lupin and the elder Potters introduced themselves, Hope seeming very shy, much like her son. The three children heard the whistle of the train behind them.

"It's time to go kids." Fleamont told his children. The twins looked at their parents and pulled them into a hug.

"We'll write." The twins promised.

"I love you." Mia said, whispering the words into each parents ear as they embraced.

"Don't forget about your lessons with Dumbledore." Fleamont whispered in her ear.

"I won't." Mia promised her father.

They turned around to board the train, waiting for Remus to say good-bye to his mother. She whispered something in his ear and he nodded. Remus soon turned around to join them. They got on the train giving one final wave to their parents, beore turning away towards a new adventure.

Once on the train, they decided to find an empty compartment.

"We'll go this way and you go that way." Mia said to James, and he turned to look for a compartment. Mia took Remus' hand in hers, and the boy flinched at her touch but soon relaxed. They looked for what seemed like forever, and finally found a compartment. They sat across from each other on the plush blue/grey seats.

"How will we tell James where we are?" Remus asked curiously.

"He'll find us," She replied. Remus pulled a book out of his rucksack.

"You don't mind, do you?" Remus asked her.

"No problem, I'll read it with you." She stood up and sat right beside the young boy, hovering over the book. "So what are we reading?" She asked curiously.

Remus chuckled and flipped the book over so she could read the cover.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. By Newt Scamander." She read aloud. Remus opened the first chapter and began to read the book out loud to her. Eventually they heard James, and another voice with him.

"Hey James, who's this?" Mia asked curiously. She looked up to meet the eyes of the boy she saw in Madame Malkins. The boy looked at her wide eyed.

"YOU! I've been looking for you my entire life! You are the woman of my dreams." He said to her dramatically. The boy took her hand in his own, kissing it before dropping to one knee. "Marry me! I'll love you forever." Mia stared at the boy for a moment in sheer confusion.

"What are you talking about? You don't even know me." She said to him, rolling her eyes. 'This boy seems like a handful, wonder where James picked him up.' He dropped her hand and stood up.

"I'm Sirius, Sirius Black." He told the girl, holding out his hand to her. She shook it reluctantly.

"Mia Potter." She told him. "This is my friend Remus Lupin, and well, you've already met my brother James." She told him. Sirius took Remus' hand and shook it. They all sat in the compartment. Mia sat beside Remus and James took his seat beside Sirius across from them.

"Is anyone going to explain why Sirius just proposed to my sister?" James asked, looking at his sister and new friend in confusion.

"Don't look at me James, does it look like I know?" Mia said to her brother, narrowing her eyes and giving Sirius a look that said 'explain'.

"You're the one who knocked my mother off her high horse at Madame Malkins. In my book, that makes you my hero." He told her with a shrug. "She seems to think just because she has a 'Noble and Ancient' last name, it makes her entitled to the world. Bloody Barmy if you ask me."

"Well your mother is a horrid excuse for a woman, she deserved everything that came to her." Mia told him simply. Remus gave her a strange look, surprised that she actually defended herself to the matriarch of the most noble house in all of Wizarding Britain and made it out alive.

"Excuse me?" A small red headed girl said poking her head into the compartment. She had the brightest emerald green eyes Mia had ever seen, and small freckles were dusted across her nose. There was a boy behind her, he had shoulder length black hair and black eyes. "Is there any room in this compartment?" She asked.

"Come in! I'm James Potter." James exclaimed, not taking his eyes off the beautiful girl in front of him. He held out his hand to her, as she took it in a firm grip.

"I'm Lily, Lily Evans. This is my friend Severus Snape." She said gesturing to the boy behind her. Severus sat beside Mia as Lily sat beside James, feeling the boys gaze looking into her. 'Interesting' Mia thought, looking at her brother staring at the young girl in wonder and longing.

"I'm Mia Potter, James' twin sister. This is Remus Lupin." Mia said to Severus, Remus waved slightly at the boy, tucking his book back into his rucksack. "And that is Sirius Black." pointing to the grey eyed boy.

"Pleasure." The boy said cooly, his face expressionless. 'What broom got shoved up his arse?' Mia thought as she observed Severus' behaviour.

The group sat in awkward silence until Remus said,

"So what house does everyone hope for?"

"Well as much as I've read about the houses, I still don't know which would be a better fit for me, Ravenclaw or Gryffindor." Lily told the group. "I read all about them in 'Hogwarts: A History'. Being Muggleborn I had no idea about any of them. Thought I should research them before I left." The redhead started to blush at her rambling, James stared blankly, looking into her face.

"You're a Muggleborn?" Sirius asked curiously. "Not that there's anything wrong with that, I've just never met one before." Lily nodded in confirmation.

"I thought your family was known for being blood purists, Black." Severus asked Sirius curiously.

"I'm not like them, I don't care about your blood status, you could be a bloody Hippogriff and I wouldn't care. 'Long as your a good person." Sirius said with a shrug and a smirk. Mia stared at the boy. 'Not like his mother at all I see.' Mia thought with a smile.

"Well Lily, everyone knows that Gryffindor is the superior house." James informs her, smiling at the young redhead.

"Sure, if you prefer being brawny over brainy." Severus said, rolling his eyes.

"However we are sorted, the house's are easy. Whatever sorts us, puts all the good looking people into Gryffindor, all the evil people in Slytherin, and the other two can go wherever the hell they want. I don't really care." Sirius said simply.

"Well, I'm hoping for Slytherin." Severus said daringly.

"Then I guess we know what kind of person you are." James said with a scowl. Lily gave him a death glare.

"Just what is that supposed to mean?" Lily asked accusingly.

"Anyone who wants to be put in Slytherin is bound to be an evil git. That house is trouble Evans, you'd do good to remember that."James tried to tell the young witch. "You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort, now do you?"

"How dare you! I believe I can sort out the wrong sort by myself thank you very much." She spat towards James. "Come on Severus. I'm sure we can find better company than these bullies." The pair left the compartment leaving James, Sirius, Remus and Mia alone in silence.

"Really James? What if I was put into Slytherin? Would you even consider me your sister?" Mia asked him coolly, her jaw tight. "Our mother was a Slytherin, do you consider her any less our mother?"

"Of course not Mia, but that's completely different. I know you and Mum, you both don't have an evil bone in your body." James explains. "Slytherins are nothing but trouble, whatever sorted Mum must have made a mistake."

"I want you to leave Severus and Lily alone, James. No matter what house anyone is in, it doesn't matter. They will be treated with respect." She told him.

"I'm probably going to Slytherin, everyone in my family has." Sirius said sadly. No one said anything. They all knew that Blacks were put in Slytherin and that was that. Every Black to ever attend Hogwarts was a Slytherin.

"I'm hoping for Ravenclaw, though Gryffendor doesn't seem too bad of a backup." Remus state. Mia smiled at him.

"Me too." She told the group.

"Mia, we have to be in the same house. I won't be separated from you." He told her. He thought about her nightmares. Sneaking into the girl dormitories in his own house was easy enough. If she was in a different house, he wouldn't be able to help her through them.

"James, whatever happens, happens. We'll be fine." She assured him.

"We'll be at Hogwarts soon, we should probably get changed." Remus told the group.

They left the train and were met with a booming voice.

"FIRST YEARS! THIS WAY TO THE BOATS!" A very tall, large man with a long brown beard and brown eyes called out.

Mia looked over at the boys. "Let's go! We need to get a boat for all of us." she said, ushering them towards the dock. They piled into a boat together, and the man who had been directing students untied their boat from the dock. As they floated across the lake, a large stone castle came into view. Hogwarts. Their home for the next seven school years. Mia gasped. It was even more amazing than any of the pictures showed. She turned to look at the boys and they were also wide-eyed and speechless. "It's amazing!" Sirius said, completely mesmerised.

They arrived at the docks at the front of the school, and had barely hopped out of the boat when they were ushered through the massive open doors of the school, into a hallway in front of large double doors. A woman in black and green robes made of a velvety material met them in front of the door. Her black hair was pulled into a tight ponytail, and a grin stretched across her face.

"Welcome to Hogwarts, I am Professor McGonagall, Head of Gryffindor House. In a few short moments you will be entering the Great Hall where you will be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin, and while you are at Hogwarts your house will be like your family. Now you will be called alphabetically, and will come to the front of the hall where you will be sorted by the Sorting Hat." Professor McGonagall told the young students. She turned away, leaving the students to follow her.

Mia had to hold in a gasp as she walked into the Great Hall. The room was lit with floating candles that hovered above them. The roof reflected the night sky. It was charmed to do that, or so she read in "Hogwarts: A History". She glanced beside her to see Remus looking as dreamy eyed as she did. They soon reached the front of the entrance hall, and she could see Professor Dumbledore sitting at the teachers' tables. She caught his eye and he nodded, confirming that she needed to meet him for her lessons the next day after classes.

Mia saw a stool ahead of her with an ancient looking, brown pointed hat placed on it. The first year students all gasped as they watched the hat come to life. The hat started to sing a strange song:

"I may be worn and old,

Though I'm not covered in mold.

Put me on your head,

And I will lead to the house,

Where you will bed.

Though this hat is old and frail,

I can help guide you to the right trail.

Our four houses strong and true,

I will find the house for you.

Gryffindor with nerve and bravery,

Hope this house chooses thy.

Their daringness will surprise thee,

And so will their chivalry.

Slytherins are cunning and prideful,

They are not a house to be trifled.

Their ambition is beyond compare,

Enemies of the house beware.

Ravenclaw known for their wit,

They know not when to quit.

They are wise and bright,

They will study through the night.

Hufflepuff's are just and true,

They will always be loyal to you.

Puff's work hard and are dedicated,

And should be more celebrated.

This new year brings new faces,

They come from different times, and many

Different places.

The power that befalls them,

Is unlike any other,

They can control wind, ice, earth, fire and water.

Don't be scare, it cannot be controlled,

For this is what the legends foretold."

The Sorting Hat finished his song, and the Great Hall erupted into cheers. If they were worried about the ending of his song, they didn't show it, Mia noticed. 'I can't control it?' she thought. 'I can control too much. I can't control it. I don't want to hurt anyone' she continued. The noise of the students was beginning to be too much for her, and she felt her breathing begin to quicken. Her chest felt constricted, and it was hard for her to breathe. She looked towards the floor, and her eyes started to wetten, flicking back and forth across the ground under her feet, though her vision was blurry. The noises and voices blended together, though they were louder than before. Her usual focus was completely gone, and she felt like too much was happening at once.

"Hey, you okay?" Sirius asked her. "Hey, snap out of it." Sirius said snapping his fingers in front of Mia's face. Remus' attention was caught by this, and his eyes flicked to her face and he immediately knew something was wrong. He put his hands on her shoulders to help balance her.

"Mia. Mia. Look at me." He said, grabbing her attention. Her eyes snapped up to meet his. "Just breathe with me okay, in.. and out." He said, putting her hand on his chest so she could follow his breathing pattern. After a minute, she got her breathing under control and looked at her hand, still on his chest. She looked back into his eyes, still shaking slightly.

"Thank you." She told him softly, voice shaky from the incident.

"Mia, what was that?" James asks her sternly, he felt overcome with worry for his sister.

"That was a panic attack." Remus informed Sirius and James. "I have them too." he whispered, looking at Mia, who was now breathing steadily and had pulled her hands away from him. She had crossed them over her own chest.

"It's fine James, really." She told him reassuringly.

"It's not fine Mia, it's really serious." Remus told her, trying to inform her that it was, in fact, not okay.

"No, he's Sirius." Mia said pointing to Sirius and chuckling to herself.

"We will be talking about this later Mia." Remus said sternly, looking at her.

"I'm just nervous Rem, it's not a big deal." Mia said, rolling her eyes. She hated to lie to him, but he just wouldn't understand. She was different, dangerous. She didn't want to hurt him, but she had to lie to keep him safe.

"When I call your name, you will sit on the stool and be sorted by the Sorting Hat." Professor McGonagall said, her voice projecting from the front of the hall. She conjured a piece of parchment with a list of names on it.

"ABBOTT, ARCHIE"

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

A few more names were called before Sirius was call to the hat,

"BLACK, SIRIUS"

Mia could see Sirius arguing internally with the Sorting Hat, they argued for a minute before the hat shouted reluctantly.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

The Great Hall gaspes. No Black has ever been in any house other then Slytherin. The Slytherin's gave Sirius a death glare, while the Gryffindors welcome him with open arms.

"BAGMAN, LUDO"

"RAVENCLAW!"

"CARROW, ALECTO"

"SLYTHERIN!"

"CARROW, AMYCUS"

"SLYTHERIN!"

"COX, ALEXANDER"

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

"EVANS, LILY"

The hat took a couple minutes to decide, before shouting

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Mia could see Severus slump, disappointed. She could see the pain in his eyes. 'He wanted them to be in the same house.' She felt bad for the boy, he clearly cared for Lily.

"LUPIN, REMUS"

Just like Lily, the hat took a couple minutes to sort him before shouting,

"GRYFFINDOR!"

A few more people were sorted before James was called up, before the hat even hit his head it shouted,

"GRYFFINDOR!"

"POTTER, MIA"

"Ah yes...another Potter. Though not truly." the Sorting Hat told her.

"How do you know about that? Mia asked, shocked.

"I know everything." the Sorting Hat told her. "Your past, your present, your future."

"You know what happened to me?" She asked him. "Who was I? Where do I come from?" She asked him excitedly.

"All in due time." the Hat told her. "You'll remember eventually, just be patient."

"Just sort me then." Mia told him annoyed.

"Well then, hmmmm." The Hat thinks to himself. "You have the loyalty of a Hufflepuff, but you wouldn't be comfortable there, no."

"Smart though, very smart. Powerful too." The hat told her. "Ravenclaw would do you good. Though you need to be challenged, Ravenclaw couldn't do that for you."

"Let me guess, Slytherin's next." She asked him with an eye roll.

"Slytherin yes, the ambition, the determination. You are quite cunning. Slytherin would fit you well." The Hat told her. "You would be challenged, and the power you could learn from Slytherin."

"What about Gryffindor?" Mia asked the hat. "I don't have a problem with Slytherin, but my brother and friends are in Gryffindor."

"Ah yes, Gryffindor. You're brave certainly. You've certain got the nerve and the daring." the Sort Hat thought. "Both houses would do you well, this is difficult, very difficult."

That hat contemplated between the two houses for another five minutes, and even reconsidered Ravenclaw a couple of times.

"This stool is starting to hurt my arse, have you made a decision yet?" Mia asked, starting to become impatient.

"Slytherin would be a perfect fit for you, but I see your future. You would not be happy without your brother and friends." the Hat told her. "You are so peculiar, so powerful. I expect great things from you my dear."

Mia closed her eyes with a smile before the hat shouted,

"GRYFFINDOR!"

The Gryffindor table cheered, Mia stood up off the stool, took the hat off her head, and made her way to the Gryffindor table, head held high. She could feel all the eyes of the Great Hall on her. She sat beside Remus, across from James and Sirius.

"Why is everyone staring at me?" Mia asked. The hall seemed to have stopped. Even the teachers stared at her with the look of shock on their faces.

"Mia, do you know how long you were up there?" Remus asked her, with his own shocked expression.

"It couldn't have been longer then two or three minutes." She said, rolling her eyes.

"Mia, you were up there for 15 minutes." Sirius informed her.

"That's the longest hat stall in Hogwarts History!" James said, clearly excited of his sister's accomplishment.

"I'm a hat stall?" Mia asked, confused. "I've read all about them in Hogwarts: A History. Aren't they incredibly rare?"

The Great Hall calmed down and continued with the sorting.

"Very. What took so long?" Remus asked her.

"He was trying to decide between Gryffindor and, well, Slytherin." Mia said shyly. James and Sirius stared at her for a long time, the colour draining from their faces, before saying anything.

"I mean it makes sense. The cunning and ambition fit you perfectly." Remus told her. He wasn't shocked that the Hat almost put her in Slytherin. He was happy that she was put in the same house as him though.

"How does it fit her perfectly? The Hat nearly put her in a house of EVIL." Sirius exclaimed. Mia was irritated, he took a while to be sorted to, he had no right to judge her. The Hat probably wanted to put him in Slytherin too.

"What took you so long Sirius?" Mia said with a glare.

"Well same as you. But that besides the point. I'm a Black, it's natural for the hat to want to sort me there. To keep up the tradition. But yours was based on personality." Sirius explained.

"Not case you forgot Sirius, I'm a Black too. My mother is a Black. Maybe the hat just wanted to keep the tradition for ME as well." Mia said angrily.

"Is that what the hat told you? That he wanted to put you there to 'keep up the tradition.'" Sirius questioned.

"That is none of your business! Anyways, if it makes you feel better, he thought Ravenclaw and maybe even Hufflepuff would suit me." Mia told them, and the colour started to return to James' face.

"SNAPE, SEVERUS"

The hat took a minute before shouting,

"SLYTHERIN!"

Mia looked across the table to see a sad Lily slumping down in her seat. Lily looked at Severus, giving him a smile before looking down into her lap. 'Poor Lily' Mia thought to herself.

A few more people were sorted before Professor Dumbledore stood up and walked to the podium to make an announcement.

"To all the first years, welcome to Hogwarts. To all those returning, welcome back. I have a few start of term notices I wish to announce. The first years, please note that the Dark Forest is strictly forbidden to all students. Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch would like me to remind you that magic in the corridors is not permitted." Dumbledore announced in a booming voice. "I would also like to announce a new class that will be mandatory to all years. I've noticed that our houses have become very, shall we say, competitive, over the years. That is why, to promote house unity, we will be implementing a mandatory music class for our students. First years until Fourth year will have different classes per year. Years Five to Seven will be sharing classes between the three age groups. Classes will be a mix of all four houses. Again this is a mandatory class, it is not an elective. Our new Professor for this class is Professor Newcombe."

A petite woman with pin straight dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes, looking to be in her mid twenties, stood up. James and Sirius looked at her with wide eyes. There was no doubt about it, she was beautiful. The Great Hall cheered for the new teacher, especially the boys, even the Slytherins.

"We also have a new Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor, please give a warm welcome to Professor Pearson." The hall gave a small cheer for the tall, grey haired, green eyed Professor that stood.

"Now that all of that is out of the way I have one word for you, here they are, Newt, Pop, Fizz, Boom." The hall laughed as he continued. "I lied, it's two words. Dig In."

Suddenly the tables were filled with more food then Mia could ever imagine. James, Sirius and Remus immediately started filling up their plates with food.

"Okay let's place our bets now." A red headed boy with brown eyes said to his identical twin brother.

"What do you mean?" Mia asked curiously.

"No Defense Professor lasts more than a year." One twin says to her.

"If they make it that long." The other twin told her.

"Oh." Mia said. She didn't like not knowing things and she certainly didn't know about that bit of information.

"Gideon Prewitt, third year" The first twin told her.

"Fabian Prewitt, third year. Better looking twin." The second twin told her with a smirk, holding his hand out to her

"Mia, Mia Potter. First year." She said shaking their hands.

"We know." They said.

"You had the longest hat stall in history. Everyone in Hogwarts will know who you are." Gideon told her.

"Oh great." Mia said, rolling her eyes. "This is my twin brother James, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin." She told the twins, introducing them to the boys. They all waved quickly and went back to eating. "Anyways, about the Professor bet. I'll put 5 galleons that he'll be gone by April." She said with a smirk on her face.

"Oh Fab, I like this one." Gideon said to his brother with a smirk. "I bet 10 galleons he's gone by March."

"Deal." They shook hands sealing the bet.

"Fabian, are you in?" Mia asked curiously.

"Are you kidding me? I've lost three years in a row to this one." He told her. "He's never lost. Better get those galleons ready."

"We'll see." She said, turning away from them.

They quickly finished dinner before being led to their common room for the night. They crossed the moving stairs and were suddenly in front of a painting of a Fat Lady.

"This as you might've guessed is the entrance to the Gryffindor common rooms. All you need is to speak the password to the Fat Lady and she will let you in." Darius Wells, their house Prefect told them. "The password is for Gryffindors only. Our password this week is 'Thestrals'."

The painting swung open and the students all shuffled into the common room. It was decorated with red and gold air chairs and couches. There were a couple of bookshelves along the wall, as well as a fireplace, which was surrounded by the furniture.

"Each week, the new password will be on the notice board of the common room. Do not forget it or you will be spending the night in the corridor. Now when I call your name step forward to get your class schedule and dorm number. Your roommates will be the same for the next seven years, so get comfortable. Curfew is 11pm, so be in our common room by then. Follow curfew or our house will suffer by losing points. Any questions?" Darius asked. "No? Then when I call your names step forward."

Sirius, James, Remus and some boy named Peter were in a dorm together, while Mia was in a dorm with Lily Evans, Mary MacDonald, and Alice Verna. She immediately ran to James, Sirius, and Remus to compare schedules. She had at least one of them in each of her classes. 'It could've been worse' Mia thought. The boys introduced her to Peter who seemed terribly shy.

"Hi, I'm Mia." Mia said with a smile on her face, she held her hand out which he took in his trembling hands.

"Peter Pettigrew." He says Mia didn't know why but she felt a strange sense about Peter, that he needs her help. Remus and Sirius yawned loudly.

"We're headed to bed, you coming James?" Sirius asked.

"Yeah, I'll be up in a second." He told them.

"Good night Mia." Peter, Sirius and Remus said sleepily.

"Are you going to be okay?" James asked, looking into her eyes. "I could wait until the guys fall asleep and sneak you up to the dorm."

"James, I'll be fine. We knew you couldn't be there all the time for my nightmares." She said to her brother warmly, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I'll put up silencing charms around the bed so I don't wake anyone up, and I'll let you know if they get worse."

"Okay, just promise to tell me if they happen okay?" He said, still not convinced he should leave her alone.

"I will. Now go." She told him. She pulled him into a hug before they went to their own dorms.

Mia entered the dorm and introduced herself to Mary and Alice, who'd already taken the two beds beside each other on the left side of the room. She looked to the bed beside hers and saw Lily unpacking her trunk, unloading her books onto the self beside her bed.

"Hey Lily, I just wanted to apologize for my git of a brother's behavior today on the train." Mia said looking at the redheaded girl.

"It's not your fault." Lily said simply.

"If it makes you feel better, that hat almost put me in Slytherin and I had to give Sirius and James a stern talking to about house unity. They won't bother you anymore." Mia told her. She noticed a book in Lily's hand, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. "That's one of my favourite's. Besides Pride and the Prejudice."

"You know Shakespeare? And Jane Austin?" Lily asked in shock. She didn't think anyone her age even read let alone read Shakespeare.

"Yeah, I read them this summer actually. My dad has a whole muggle author section in our library." Mia told the girl, smiling. She finally had a girlfriend with the same interests as her.

"You have a library?!" Lily said in shock.

"Yeah, it's not as big as the Hogwarts library but it's enough for me." Mia told her. "You'll have to come over this summer and see it sometime."

"I'd like that." Lily told Mia genuinely.

The girls quickly changed into their pyjamas and pulled the curtains of their beds closed. Mia grabbed her wand and put up silencing charms as to not wake her dormmates. She quickly fell asleep, excited at the thought of tomorrow.
