I Don't Own Yu-Gi-Oh
I got a new duel disk, it was a bit more compact but still a bit uncomfortable than the last on to be fair but it was the academy standard issue one that I kind of had to use. Besides that nothing really happened, I just arrived at my dorm and got unpacked. I didn't seem to have a room mate, but if the bunk beds were anything to go by then that won't last the longest. Anyway, right now I was yawning still, because surprise surprise, I didn't get to sleep.
It wasn't actually surprising considering how long I've had my insomnia but it was certainly annoying, though it did give me plenty time to actually look over my deck for real.. Before it had just been glance overs but since I've had the time, I made it a goal to read and memorize every card I have. It honestly only took about an hour for the sixty-five cards I have on me, forty in my burn deck and the others were the ones I found in that desk.
I already knew basically my burn deck so there wasn't any real surprises there, but after looking over my extra cards, while I have no monster with an attack even reaching 2000, it did seem to have a pretty clear theme. Dragons, because those clearly aren't over used. Still, from what I've seen, a large number of the traps and spells don't go to anything but there is still some support for a dragon deck, and even some decent lower leveled monsters.
The before mentioned two Luster Dragons, along with Blackland Fire Dragon, two Exploder Dragons, and even a Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4 which was interesting to find, along with a dragon rage and Dragon's Rebirth. Sure out of the twenty-five cards, only have ten of them being related vaguely isn't really anything great, especially since these monsters aren't even all that powerful by themselves, but it's something to work towards. A mishmash dragon deck maybe.
There were a few other cards in there that I found neat, like Fox Fire, which is a nice stall card to have. I'll be honest, I also liked it because I like foxes and there aren't to many fox based cards in this game. Besides that it was mostly traps and a few monsters that didn't really relate to each other. Though I did find an Emergency Provisions, which depending on the situation would be pretty helpful as well since it gives me one thousand life points per spell or trap card I control, as long as I send them to the grave right after.
All in all, I thought about adding those last two into my main deck for a while just to see how they work, I could remove a Kelbek or Blast Sphere. I was leaning to the former as Kelbek when attacked sends the attacking card back to the opponents hand, which is always helpful but compared to Blast Sphere which can deal straight life point damage and while it takes a bit longer it will in the end also destroys the attacking card.
Though maybe a Golem Sentry would also be fine to remove, once my opponent finds out about it's effect then I'm sure they'll quickly try to remove it from the field. Decisions, decisions. Maybe I'm just over thinking this by a lot. I don't really need to have my deck being only forty cards, a few over it's going to kill me, though I know a number of people that would disagree.
Moving on to something else besides something as contrived as deck limits, like classes. I'm pretty sure I should have left by now but I mean, it's school, high school to be specific. Like I haven't already done that before, I think the worst part is that from the class schedule I got, it seems that the actual dueling stuff only is in about three of the nine classes I have. The other six were just a lot of normal things that kids should learn, to bad I wasn't a damn kid and I've learned all this stuff years ago.
I just didn't really want to deal with it at the moment but here I am so I guess I don't really have a choice in the matter. With that I sighed once more just to do it before getting up, and tied my uniform jacket around my waist again. While I was use to both pretty high and pretty low temperatures, doesn't mean I would wear a heavy jacket before walking out under the sun for at least half an hours walk to get to the school building. That would just be stupid, which is why I wasn't surprised to see literally everyone else do the exact opposite of me.
Still, I just got to the damn school and just dropped down into the first open seat available. Old habit, I always take the chair closes to the door, I could never tell if it was something that came from my pessimism, how I've always done that, or if it was from my extreme paranoia. Anyway, all that aside, I just sat down and closed my tired eyes for a long moment, just to rest them for a bit.
"Hey dude" I really wanted to just assume that whoever said those words wasn't directing them at me, but from the slight scraping sound next to me of a chair being moved to my left, I figured that wasn't the case. Blinking my eyes open, I looked over to my left at the slight embarrassed form of that guy that I dueled with yesterday. I'll be honest, I kind of forgot his name, but to be fair to me, I've always had a problem with names.
"Hi" I just gave a neutral response as I just closed my eyes again, I gave a response and acknowledge his existence, and that's about the best he is going to get form me at the moment. I already don't want to be here, but I kind of need to graduate high school. Probably, I don't actually know the qualifications needed to be a professional dueler. Then again is that really what I want? I mean it's an easy enough career path to take, and it'll even be a bit fun.
But then again, I'm certain I'm not the greatest duelist alive, I mean I'm pretty sure I would be curb stomped by Jaden, if only because plot amour would be the thing to drop kick me when I should have a prefect counter to his entire deck. Then again, I'm probably the main character now, which would make since because I've had some pretty lucky draws so far.
"Welcome everyone to algebra one, today we will be discussing-" I just tuned all that out as I could honestly do all of what this class will be doing for the next year in my sleep. If only I could get some sleep to prove that to be true. Oh well, moving on, by going back to thinking about nothing in particular.
"You're pretty smart" It had been a while later and Alex, as I had been reminded, seemed to like to follow me around, from the looks of it, I think I'm the only person he knows here. It was the same with me technically, but while I have no real need to be close to people, Alex seemed to walk around like a lost puppy. It was equally annoying and amusing to watch him act like an idiot.
"I've already learned most of this stuff before" And by most I mean all of this, still, while I wouldn't mind a compliment to my clearly amazing intelligence, it was a bit unfounded along with the fact that if I just agreed then Alex would make some self depreciating comment about being stupid, as it was pretty easy to peg his personality after a while of listening to his idle comments.
"Oh? That's pretty cool, were you in those advance classes?" I mean I could have been, but I didn't care much about that in middle school, I did technically take mostly advance in high school but that's just because I was bored of easy classes.
"Something like that" He just nodded, not really knowing what to do with that answer as the first damn duel lesson of the day started, and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Do these teachers think we all are stupid? Because I would be shocked if someone in this class was so bad at dueling they didn't know what a spell card did and how they activate it.
It felt especially insulting to me when they went over the very basics of trap cards since that was like my whole thing. Looking around I noted a number of people that had their heads down on their desks, so I just sighed and thought about doing that myself. I've already tried that in the last five classes with very limited success so trying now wouldn't really accomplish anything. After a moment of thinking, I just glanced over at Alex before asking.
"Hey, do you have an extra deck just for spare cards?" He blinked at me for my sudden and very random question as I haven't really talked much to him yet, but still he just gave me a nod, so I just reached to my side and pulled out my extra deck, which was just my unused cards. I looked through them for a few seconds, pulling out a few cards that I wanted to hold onto before handing it over to Alex, who widened his eyes at that.
"Look them over, I don't really have a reason to keep those ones around with my current deck but I've been working on making a new one, I wouldn't mind trading those for some of your spares" He nodded after a moment then looked over all the cards I gave him, I noted his eyes widened a bit every now and again at seeing some of the better ones, probably the two Bottomless Trap Holes I have in there. Both kind of useless for my burn deck and while nice to have, would mostly be support for the next deck I'm starting to plan out.
Though they are pretty useful to get rid of a powerful monster quickly, eh whatever, if he wants it then I'll demand something decent from him. Just because I'm not using it doesn't mean that I don't know it is a good trap to have on the field. Anyway, I mostly just did that because I don't exactly have an income at the moment and from the looks of things, I doubt booster packs are free here. Though I will have to check on that.
Maybe I should call up my parents and be a free loader by asking for some money...I feel like I'm getting back into this card game a bit to much, besides the fact that I've spent a lot of time just thinking about random stuff, my main focus has been on this game, which while I can admittedly get hyper focused on stuff, it's unlike me to get this into something like deck building, something I've always never been the best at nor even liked it that much.
Then again, with how this game is basically ruling the world, through what I can only guess by ancient Egyptian dark magic, as that seems to be able to do basically anything, it would make sense if that effected me as well now that I'm here, since I doubt I have some magical resistance thing to help me out. Then again, I do always seem to have some bonus of some kind when I get shipped off to new worlds. At least I'm still one hundred percent human.
Anyway, I just yawned again while Alex handed me back my cards with a faint smile on his face, he probably liked a few of my cards then, I just hope he has something to make a worth while trade for them, but I can worry about that a bit later. Right now I blinked to myself as I placed my cards away as I thought I had seen something. Turning around, I noted a girl in a blue coat stretching. Weird.
Shaking my head faintly, I just turned back to the front of the class and went right back to ignoring whatever the teacher was talking about at the moment. I think it had something to do with spell cards and quick plays. It was mostly unimportant so with that I just started to go back to day dreaming.
"Hey, if you want we can head back to my dorm room so we can compared cards" I thought about it for a moment before deciding that I really didn't have anything else to do at the moment, so I just nodded to him. With that I just followed along, as I looked around as we went at the environment. While I'm not much of a nature buff, I do like just walking around in forests and even going on trails for occasion, which I haven't done for a while so this was surprisingly nice.
It took a while before we got to the room but I didn't mind to much as I walked in and looked around for a moment at the sight of it. It was easily bigger than my room and even had it's own bathroom attached which I really unfortunately didn't have. I didn't mind so much but it was a tad bit annoying. Still, while I didn't care much about my living conditions, as to be honest, I've had worse, it wouldn't hurt to move up to Ra, or even Obelisk. It probably wouldn't even be that difficult really, then again, that might be a bit arrogant to say.
"Here, you can look through these" I had zoned out as Alex handed over his extras, and to say he had a lot more than me was an understatement, it was about the normal size of a fifty or so card deck. I just laid them out and started to look them over for a moment, just to look at them before I blinked to myself as I saw one card, and instantly pulled it out to look at it. Alex seemed to notice and looked over my shoulder.
"Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6, I remember getting that a little while back. I actually spent like a month looking for the other two but gave up after I made my Buster Blader deck, it just didn't fit in it anymore, even for support with it's conditions" That was shocking, I honestly don't remember much about this card, I know it has one more form, I don't know the level number but that's about it, I don't even think this one has support for it, so it's not the best ace monster, but it would be better than nothing.
So to just state my point, I reached into my deck case and drew out my Horus, a Lv4. It was both entertaining and interesting to see Alex's face change so quickly at the sight of the card.
"I'll give you one of my Trap Holes and my Disarmament for this" He seemed to want to really want to give me a deal, but he seemed to realize that we were still missing the last card for this, and not to mention that his deck wouldn't work well with this card in it. So he just sighed before seemingly thinking it over before saying.
"Fine but I want your Half Counter as well" That was fine, it would help him out some for defending and I got a decently powerful card, though now I need to look into where I can get the last one for this new deck. And you know, all the rest of the cards as well as I can't really have just one card set to bet everything on, that would be just kind of stupid.
"Deal" I handed him my extra so he could take what he wanted while I continued to look through his cards. He really didn't have anything special in here, mostly just a few of a bunch of random assortments. There were a few monsters but those didn't really interest me since I already had a few and none of these would really work well with dragon deck, nor were any of them really powerful anyway. Not like I can say much about that at the moment. And I didn't want to trade many more cards out let.
"You have a Kunai with Chain?" I blinked before looking back over at the excited face on Alex. Yeah, he seems to really like equip cards, besides his counter plays, equips seem to be his main game plan for his deck. I wouldn't mind using it myself when I have some proper monsters but I don't really need it right now anyway. Glancing down at the cards in front of me for a moment, I sighed before saying.
"You can use it for a while but I have a few plans for that card" He seemed both happy and a bit sad, for one that I was giving it to him, but that I also wanted it back at some point. It was the best he was going to get for the time being. With that I just handed him back his cards and said.
"Thanks but that's all I really want at the moment. Do you happen to know where the store is on the island?" He nodded though he seemed a bit confused at that before saying.
"Hey, why are you making another deck? You're pretty strong with the one you already have" I just shrugged before saying back.
"My deck is pretty great and while I do like winning, especially by pissing people off, I figure having another one on hand just in case wouldn't be a bad thing. Plus, it's fun, which is kind of what this game's whole point is about anyway. When I'm finish this this deck, I also want to duel you. I'm use to hard countering everyone, so a deck like your would be great to duel against when I have a proper dragon deck set up" He seemed to think about it for a second before shrugging and then said.
"I guess I understand dude. Hey, do you mind if I get my homework done before showing you that shop? I kind of didn't understand everything out teacher talked about" It was one of those things that was hard to understand at my age, not knowing how to do what was at this point basic math, but for him, he did just learn this, so whatever. Though from the looks of things, it didn't seem like he wasn't having to many problems, maybe he just wasn't good at mental math then. Still he is helping me I guess, so I can't really complain about him making me wait for a bit.
"Yeah sure. I'm going to go and get something quick to eat then from the cafeteria here while you're working... If you have any questions I'll help when I get back" It was a bit out of the norm for me, as I'm not really the helping type, but I truly have nothing else I can really do at the moment and I understand that people are easier to convince to do stuff when they like you. It helps that he's tolerable.
With that I walked out of his room as I looked around for a moment before just starting to walk, I didn't really know where exactly the kitchen was, but I did see it on the way in so I have a general idea of the direction that I need to head in. So with that I just continued onward, walking down the halls, and even down a flight of stairs, and right as I was about to find the main entrance, which I knew was connected to the cafeteria, a voice called out.
"Oi! What's a Slifer Slacker doing in my dorm!" It took a moment to remember both that what he said was an insult and that I should probably care, I didn't. Turning around, I just blinked at the sight of a taller guy, probably an older year then, or just a very tall first year, since I'm tall for my body's age and he still has a good inch or two on me. Anyway, back to responding to the idiot.
"Just looking for food, this place is like a maze, no wonder none of you seem to bright, I mean, you must have to spend all your time trying to find your rooms instead of studying or dueling. It makes since why you all are so bad at this" It was a broad insult, which wasn't usually my style, but he attacked me based on my colors so it was fair that I did the same to him, though I did think of a few nastier ones afterwards but to late now.
"How dare you talk to me like that you brat!" He looked very angry, I didn't get it, sure I was insulting him, but I was more insulting his dorm than him. He just must be an easy guy to piss off. I think I'm going to enjoy this a lot.
"Look, either leave me alone by pissing off or get ready to duel me, I really don't care which you choose" I kind of wanted to grab a sandwich, but I still do need some practice, forgetting about my flip effect last game nearly cost me the duel, and while I like taking it easy, this world is still run by this game, so any free matches I'll accept, besides if I get a reputation then maybe I'll run into some actually competent duelists.
"Fine! Get ready to be crushed slacker!" I just rolled my eyes as I took a few steps back. I still had my new duel disk on my arm because it's apparently a rule you have to have it on you when your not in class, which I find kind of weird, though judging by the fact that I've seen a number of people just not wearing their disks, I guess it's for of a guideline than requirement.
Either way, I loaded in my deck into the duel disk and activated it as my opponent did the same. I wondered brief his name, before deciding that I truly couldn't care less about learning it and more than likely would forget it by tomorrow anyway. Moving onto something else, the two of us just watched each other for a moment before I decided to cut the air and said.
"You can go first, call it a courtesy" He just glared at me with a faint growl coming from his throat at how condensing I sounded, I totally did that because I really wanted to piss him off. From there he drew his five while I did the same. Looking down at my hand I hummed to myself for a second. I had my newest addition, Fox Fire, which was nice since all my other cards weren't the best in this case, though if I can wait a turn or two, then they'll really come in handy.
"I'll start this off strong! I'll play Different Dimension Capsule, and put one card out of play! Now I summon one of my favorite dinos in attack mode! Come on out Black Brachios(1800/1100)! With that I end my turn!" A dino deck then, interesting, surprising enough, I actually know dinosaur monsters pretty damn well. I had a friend who played competitive with them. Though he preferred a Jurrac deck, I've picked up a thing or two.
"I draw" I took the required card and looked down at it for a moment, just to let my thoughts gather as this card changed a thing for me, Golem Sentry. It would be nice to play it as I can grantee at least one turn so I can use it's effect and get rid of one of those monsters but it would only really buy me time, and dinos are good at beat downs anyway, so stalling isn't really going to change things until I gt a few more, better burn cards.
"Now, I set one monster face down, and then activate Dark Room of Nightmare, then I'll set two cards and end my turn" It wasn't the greatest hand but it was a nice set up for a play that I can do next turn. My opponent just gave me a feral grin and said.
"You coward, already to scared to fight me huh? Fine! I draw!" He's words were annoying but I'm fine with being called a coward, it isn't to far off to be fair. I mean I can be plenty brave when I want to but if it's a choice, not doing something is usually easier. Though, I have never been really good at taking things really easy when I'm motivated. Thoughts for later.
"Now! I summon Jurrac Velo also in attack mode(1700/1000)!" Oh? I wasn't expecting this little guy to appear, so he's running a tempest deck then, a mishmash of all the different types of dinosaurs out there. It was interesting, but a weird choice, since this card only has an effect if I send it to the grave by battle, and I only have a face down. Maybe he's planning for the future then.
"Now Jurrac Velo attack his face down!" First trap.
"I activate two traps cards, first I activate Mirror Force, sending both of those dinosaurs into the grave and then I activate Magical Thorn" He just growled, as I watched his eye twitch a bit as both his monsters were destroyed. It might have been a bit of a waste of a Mirror Force, but I wasn't risking him getting a bunch of monsters on the field while I don't have any of my better stalls in my hand.
"You brat! Hiding behind traps huh! You're no man your a baby! Fine, I end my turn!" I just nodded as I noted his Dimension Capsule is activating next turn. It's clear he isn't much of a fan of traps so I doubt he went for one of those, and judging from his deck choice, he has a lot of monsters in his deck, so maybe he went for one of his stronger ones and was hoping to get a tribute off. I can't tell.
"I draw" I'll just have to wait to see I guess, so with that I drew my next card and frowned, Gryphon Wing, I forgot about this very situational card, I would prefer a Trap Jammer, oh well he probably doesn't have any of those anyway, so I guess the only thing to do is redraw.
"I activate a spell from my hand, Card Destruction, meaning all the cards in our hands are going to the grave, and we draw an equal number of cards that we lost" He actually yelled out in anger at that as I watched him send what looked like a Tyranno Infinity to his grave. Good, that card might have been a probably if this dragged on long enough, now for my next play.
"Now my Magical Thorn activates, since you discarded three cards, you take 1500 damage, well normally at least, but since Dark Room of Nightmare is up that damage increases to 2400" He shouted out as his life points shot down as I smiled a bit at the sound, while I drew my new hand, I was only getting two cards back but the two I got were decent enough.
"I set one monster face down and end my turn" He just continued to glare at me for a long moment before calling out.
"I'm going to destroy you! My Different Dimension Capsule activates getting me another card and now I draw!" He was red in the face while the two people that had been with him when this duel started, had looked to each other with a bit of apprehension, like they were use to this. Honestly that made me feel better, it let me know I was really driving him mad.
"I summon a monster! Megalosmasher X Get out here and destroy this pest(2000/0)! Now attack his first face down card!" I wasn't expecting this dino, but then again maybe I should have, though I wonder what he played in that capsule now since he hasn't used anything, maybe it was a monster, hell, it might have been this monster.
"You attacked my Fox Fire, good job, you actually managed something" His anger was very entertaining as he slammed his hand on his duel disk to end his turn,
"I draw" I pulled out my next card and hummed, I had put Fox Fire in face down mode, so I couldn't actually use his effects, I didn't want dino man to keep attacking it as I'm sure he might have something with piercing power in that deck and Fox Fire's defense was very low. And I don't have any traps left open for me to use at the moment, since my hand is just my monsters, so.
"I'll set one monster and pass" He just smirked a bit at that, probably thinking I had finally run out of tricks, like that was about to happen.
"I think it's time to show you what real power is! I sacrifice my Megalosmasher X to summon my most powerful dinosaur, Super-Ancient Dinobeast! Whose effect allows me to use one dino as a tribute instead of two(2700/1400)!" It was an impressive dino, one of the best in the game I think at this time, though to be honest, for all I know this card didn't come out for another six years, since I swear some of these cards I've seen really shouldn't exist yet.
"Now I attack your newest face down monster!" Him huh, I actually laughed a bit at that as my card flipped up to reveal the card as I called out.
"The monster you just attacked is called Solider Penguin, when this little guy is flipped up I can instantly send two monsters can to their owners hands, but I think I'll only be sending one back, your Super-Ancient Dinobeast" His anger quickly turned to a bit of a stunned silence as his dino was seemingly ripped from the field as the dino man picked it up off the duel disk.
"I...I end my turn" He was angry, that much was clear, this was damn near humiliating for him, but I don't think he can really express it anymore, and since his field is open, I just called out.
"I draw, now I summon out in attack mode, Blast Sphere(1400/1400), now I flip up my Nimble Momonga as well in attack mode, and I think it's time to end this. Both of you attack directly!" The small red sphere and the flying squirrel shot forwards and with that it was over as my duel disk disengaged as the duel was over. It was a bit boring of a duel to be honest, just a simple shut down, though this time it was a bit closer as I really didn't get the best cards for this kind of duel. For a beat down duelist, I wold like one of my Nightmare Wheels to be out at least.
While I did get some damage off in my opening hand, it could have been better if the stars aligned a bit better, but oh well, that's just the luck factor of this game. I still had a decent opening, it just would have been better against someone else. But it still worked all the same. So with that I just walked over to the cafeteria as I really was hungry at the moment, leaving that taller guy to sulk for a bit.
Cards are expensive I swear, back in my last world I could buy a pack of cards for a couple bucks and now for some of the ones that I know has a few of the cards I would want are like ten times more pricey. I swear I think the school over pricing us for these things as an alternative for cash income besides tuition. Which I think is just stupid, still, from what I was told, apparently there is a system for students to get cards, like the random drawing for sandwich which have cards with them.
Basically a random chance thing and every time new cards come in the prices drop by a good bit but they still cost a bit more than I'm comfortable with. I swear I wonder what the big deal about them is, though of course there are different ways as well, like how every two weeks the school hosts a very minor tournament that can let the winner pick, I think, three or so packs out. So I know what I'll be doing now on my weekends. Pulling damn sandwiches.
Now the most exciting life I've dropped into but I guess that'll change soon I guess, though I don't really mind, it's just kind of boring. After all it's been a few days already and besides me beating a few people, about one to three a day, nothing really has been all that interesting. And to be honest the duels have also started to be a bit of a chore. My strategy makes it so I just draw, trick people into a few traps and if that doesn't finish it, then just use Nightmare Wheel until it does.
Besides a few refreshingly fun duels with Alex, nothing has been a damn challenge and mixing that into the classes which are so damn mind numbing, I think I'm starting to go a bit stir crazy. Which was why I was out here in the forest at the moment, just walking around, because I just needed to center myself and calm down from being so annoyed by the lack of things to do along with the sleep deprivation.
It was late but I didn't really mind, in fact I've always preferred the evening anyway so it was nice, plus it was surprisingly cool out at the moment, which was a certain bonus to all this. Though as I walked, while trying to calm my, as always, storming mind, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye again. Turning sharply, I just sighed as nothing was there. I really couldn't tell if I was going crazy from lack of sleep, which was a definite possibility, or something was stalking me.
Either way, neither options were really good for my health, mental or otherwise. I wasn't really to worried if it was the second option to be honest, I mean everything in this world is settled with a duel, so it's not like I should be expecting to be assaulted at any time. The possibility was there though which I knew but I mostly have chosen to ignore that part of my mind.
Wasn't that concerning, I just gave a half heart huff at my own thoughts of how mentally stable I was. Those mental rants never really make me feel warm and fuzzy, moving on I just continued to look around as I walked, not really seeing a reason to be lost in my mind when I could focus on my surroundings and the faint sounds of nature. I really miss more high tech technology. This would be a great time to be listening to some music.
Tech in general was really weird in this world, for one holograms exists but flip phones are still a thing. Not to mention the mess the movies have made, yeah it took a moment to find it but apparently Dark Sides happened in this world, which means bloody time travel is a thing that Kaiba managed but revolutionizing the rest of the world is apparently to much work.
Not to mention the fact that I'm sure a decent number of cards in that movie shouldn't exist at this point in time, which would explain the reason why I keep getting mixed up on what the hell should and shouldn't already exist, I don't think even this reality knows that answer. It was really confusing, but I'm still really glad the world isn't breaking and I have yet to deal with stuff like links yet. Honestly I never really like that card type along with pendulum, then again maybe it's just because those are past my time.
Does that make me sound like an old man, which really is strange since I'm in a teenager body at the moment. Moving on, I continued to look around for a while, just walking, not really having a topic to think about as I continued to search around. Honestly, while I am here to sight see mostly, I was also hoping to bump into someone, or well, two people really.
I don't remember this show well as I only watched the first main season then just skipped around the others as I got a general summary from a few friends. But I did in fact watch the first season, and so that means there is that sandwich stealing guy out here, I can't remember his gimmick but I'm pretty he had pretty poor luck at drawing, so I'm hoping that when I beat him, I'll be able to look over his cards.
I mean, he isn't a student here anymore, and I have literally zero problems with stealing from some random person, especially when the items in question have already been stolen. Besides that guy, I'm also looking for this giant that apparently as gone around and crushed a bunch of obelisks. I wouldn't normally care but they've been playing with an ante, meaning I'm sure they've collected a number of good cards I wouldn't mine liberating from them.
I'm pretty sure it's actually two people, one controlling the massive guy, but I got to be honest, I don't really care much about that. They can both duel me for all I care, I mean the worse thing that could happen is I'll lose one of my copies of say, Des Counterblow, as I have yet to actually draw the card yet in a duel and I have two already when I mostly just need one. And even then it's a situational card because I usually always have another good defense ready on standby.
But it doesn't look like it's going to be the case at any point, I mean, from the looks of it, I don't think I'm going to be challenged at any point right now. Looking up at the sky, I just sighed a bit as I noted the fact that it was dark out now. Well, whatever. I was about to turn back and walk away, as I was very tired and some sleep would most certainly be nice.
That was my plan at least before I blinked to myself as I turned as I had just noticed something that wasn't exactly suppose to be out here in the forest. Turning, I walked forwards and looked around for a moment, I remember this place, vaguely, it was the abandoned dorms. I wasn't expecting this place, then again I have been walking around for a while now.
Walking forwards a bit I sighed before really thinking about it. Did I really want to walk forwards and deal with whatever this is? I mean, the chances are, the duel spirit isn't even there yet and while I'm not really certain on thew back story of this place, it would make since if a few things got left behind if everyone in the form disappeared. Was it wrong to steal from what could be considered the dead? Well, probably, but I didn't really care about that. Morals don't really bug me.
With that I scrolled onward towards the building, just looking around the surroundings a bit as I glanced around the opening. The grass was over grown and while I don't know all the animals on this island, I'd rather not step on a snake and have to deal with that. Making my way to the doors, I frowned a bit as I noted they were open, it was a bit creepy, especially since this entire set up is that of a horror movie.
Well, if someone jumped out at me then I'll just punch them in the face, no strings attached. Because, while I don't really get scared easy, I still feel like a punch would be the most appropriate solution. Anyway, I'm just distracting myself. Walking into the main lobby like area, I just glanced around for a moment before heading to the stair, the rooms in places like this are usually on the upper floors.
Walking around the halls for a bit, I ducked into a few rooms but most if not all the rooms were either trashed or empty. It was a bit weird, still all the same I just looked around, poking around the more obvious areas to put something somewhat valuable. I did find a duel disk, an older model from the looks of it, but I was still wearing mine so it didn't really mean anything for me. At least that was my original thought line before I noted something about the duel disk.
It was like my old one, before I replaced it, the deck slot wasn't seen on the outside, meaning like my old one it was held in the main body to spit out cards as needed. I hummed to myself as I walked over towards the bed in the small room and sat down on it as I pulled the disk into my lap as I looked around it, noting the weight, before looking around for a release to open the thing up.
After a few seconds I found it, pushing the button I was disappointed when on one of the interfaces a faint glowing red battery symbol appeared. Out of power? Really? That's just annoying, with that I just stood up, looked at the floor for a moment, before dropped the duel disk down before slamming my foot right down on top of it. The thing cracked along some of the plastic lining that held together the metal. So I just stomped down on it again then again.
Reaching down, I picked the broken thing up before pulling off a slightly sturdy part and looked inside. Their we are, a full deck of cards. At least that's what I thought they were before I pulled them out and looked it over, there were number of cards missing and from the fact that it looks like I just picked up the remnants of a Red Eyes Black Dragon deck, I think I know what ace monsters were removed. Still, there were a few gems in here all the same.
Hunter Dragon, two Red-Eyes Wyverns, Swing of Memories, and Dragon's Gunfire were the main pulls while the rest were support cards for Red Eyes only, not much help without the level seven dragon. All in all, my dragon deck is about half way there to having the minimum amount of cards and even then, it's a big mishmash with no real fire power expect Horus without using a few equip cards to try and change that.
From there I just continued to look around for a while before giving up on really finding anything else as this was about the best I was going to get I guess. It was unfortunate but at least I did end up finding at least a few things, though all this scavenging is a bit of a pain to be honest. Whatever, time to get out of here. At least that was the plan before I felt a faint rattle underneath me. An earthquake?
Well my standing from getting out of here has now gone to getting the absolute hell out of here. I'd rather not have an old and unstable building come down on my head. With that I quickly made my way down the stairs again and walked out into the lobby and was about to walk out when I noted the door was closed... Well wasn't that even more creepy. I would think about ti more but I'd rather do it when I'm a mile or two away from this place.
So that's what I did, because I'm a man of my word, sometimes.
Being woken up was pretty high up there on the list of things that I hate, like a lot. So when someone started to bang on my door, I just growled, very angrily to myself as I forced my eyes open to stare at the ceiling above me with more than enough hate to start a fire. Still the banging wasn't stopping and I heard someone call out.
"If you don't open this door right now then I will bust it down myself!" I just rolled my eyes at that before calling out right back to the female voice.
"If you do then you'll probably get sued by the school, not to mention I will slam this chair in here over your head for trespassing, now shut up and give me a moment, or do you want a sexual harassment charge as well since your threatening to break into my room while I'm changing out of my sleeping wear? If your still thinking about it, I am a minor which I do believe will add a few years to your jail sentence" Like I said, I was very annoyed. I wasn't even changing actually besides switching out shirts and grabbing my jacket, but they don't know that so screw them, if they're going to wake me up then they can wait a damn minute.
Pulling on the black shirt, slower than needed as I enjoyed the more than likely stunned silence coming from the other side of the door. I sighed to myself for a moment as I put back on my glasses as I looked around for a moment before grabbing my jacket, like now was normal, I just tied it around my waist before waiting a few moments, just to draw it out.
Speaking of drawing, I also grabbed my belt which also had my cards attached to them through a deck box. With that I was mostly ready as I absently pushed some hair out of my face as I looked around for a moment before deciding that if I need a duel disk then I'll just use someone else's as that would most certainly piss a few people off, which would only be right.
With that I walked forwards, unlocked my door, before opening it up. I just looked at the armored woman in front of me for a second, wondering why the hell a bloody military unit lead had been shouting at me. I didn't bother thinking that though, and instead just said.
"So, is this the part where I say take me to your leader? If so then can we just move on and you just tell me what you want so I can get on with my life" She just glared at me for that to which I just stared at her, as I was so far past caring at this point.
"You'll be waiting here for a moment while we go get the other two" Two? I just gave her a blank look as I absently followed my eyes along as the solder looking idiots rushed onward to the last room on this floor...Wasn't that...Ah, not an earthquake then, it was that duel with that fake shadow game person, I didn't think that had happened to early on. And since I was there at the same time, Crowler was using this was a chance to get rid of another Slifer Red, which he for some reason has an unexplained hatred for, fun.
So with that I just yawned and leaned against the wall and closed my eyes as I really didn't get enough sleep, of course I never get enough sleep but it was still annoying all the same even if I was use to it, which was why I was so annoyed at this whole situation in the first place. I mean I had been going out of my way to avoid the plot, I mean to be fair I haven't been trying that hard but still, this was a bit annoying all the same now that I've gotten dragged into this, oh well I guess.
Moving on then, I opened my eyes up a bit as I looked around as I noted the sounds of foot steps as the shouting had ended a while back as the forms of Jaden and the short, blur haired kid walked out. I'll be honest, I totally forgot his name, moving on then, I'll learn it as we go, judging by the back and forth between the two, picking up on it shouldn't be to hard to do.
"Huh? Who are you?" It was clear who that comment was directed towards as I moved my eyes back to Jaden for a moment before saying simply.
"Kyu. And I'm apparently in trouble as well" He just shrugged at that as he tossed his arms behind his head as the three of us walked onward to somewhere, I didn't really know and I certainly didn't care enough to ask. So with that we just continued to walk for a while until we all came into a dark room before the door was rudely shut behind us as a bunch of massive screens turned on around us. Damn, what a huge waste of money, they could have done with is person.
One thew screen was the headmaster, Crowler, that solider woman, and from the looks of it, a few teachers. From there they talked about some things for a few minutes, I didn't really care to listen as the charges were listed off, though I did feel the need to interrupt right after Crowler said that Jaden and Syrus, the blue kid apparently, were going to duel for their right to stay here, after all, I noticed a person was lacking.
"And what am I going to be doing then?" Everyone seemed to turn their attention back onto me at that, I just rolled my eyes at it, I'm good at being unnoticed when I want to but I was just standing here, they would have to be blind to forget about me.
"Erm, right, I'll be having a duel set up for you as well! Um..Against one of my Obelisk Blues of course!" Yeah he was pulling that out of his- well I can't really say it but people can fill in the blanks. Looks like I was right, I got shunted into this idiocy just because Crowler was trying for a three for one deal. That's so dumb.
"Yeah, I'm sure, anyway, if that's all it is, can I get it over with today then? Because you should already have someone lined up for it if you really had this planned out" Crowler glared at me, it's wasn't threatening, I don't think his face has a threatening mode, it's mostly just set to creepy. From there it seemed to just go back and forth for a bit, though it did give me a moment to remember a few things.
Wasn't that fat guy and the required female character also with these two, and the big guy is in Slifer...Why the hell am I getting targeted here? It's a bit clear that he was doing this because it was presented to him to get me out of the way but Crowler must have had some reason to bother in the first place. What could that have been... Ah, he's an egomaniac for his blue coats, and I'm pretty sure I've beaten a number of them over the last few days. Maybe he's pride is hurt, which would be an even dumber reason to drag me into this.
"Now, Mister Malo, I do believe that Crowler will also want to arrange your duel opponent as well, so we'll see when ou duel based on how quickly someone is found" I just gave a bored nod to the headmaster as I was now wonder how easy it would be to get Crowler kicked out of this school. It couldn't be to hard, I mean I know that thing with Yugi's cards are coming up and Crowler was already set to take the blame, if I can get the deck off that copy cat, then it'll be easy to plant it on Crowler and have him fired.
Hmm, nah, it's both to much work and not to mention I'm pretty sure he some kind of relevance to the plot at some point so no reason to risk it, as it will just lead to me having to try and pick out the slack to make sure the world doesn't explode or something. I don't really remember what it was but I'll get to it when I get to it. Maybe I'm to lacks about this, but it'll all work out without my interference and it's not like I have a real motivation to actually change the few things I do know for the better.
With that I turned and walked off with Jaden and Syrus following after me as the screens turned off, with Jaden happily talking about how much fun this was going to be. To be honest, I hope my duel is going to be like that as well. This is a damn game, and as such it's suppose to be fun, but winning all the time is getting stale when there's not real rush in it. How I'm playing is to systemic, which has it's own fun to it, but right now the only thing I'm enjoying is pissing people off, but really the game it self isn't anything special, which is just disappointing.
I'm sure some will complain about Kyu winning so much, but the deck I gave him is designed to be very hard to really do anything with, it isn't a shut down but how it acts is made to counter everything an average deck could really use. I did remove a number of cards to make it even better as it being overly broken wouldn't be any fun but the fact remains, at this point, winning is a very big challenge against this deck. Besides that, I think it's pretty clear by the fact that a second deck is being built, he doesn't really like it either with how much I've had him complain. I don't know, I like every now and again breaking a game by cheating or playing on easy to make myself stupidly powerful, but I personally don't find it to be very interesting after a few hours. Mix that in with the fact that he's been dealing with this for over a week without anything to really take away from his boredom even with the card game, and it's a bit more understandable. Anyway, See ya.
