Chapter 3: A Brief Intermission

"Yeah, I remember that," Gekko said. "So what? He was just scratched--" But he didn't get to finish, because just then Romeo's mobile lab drove up.

"Ha ha! I thought I smelled a couple of PJ Pests. Where's Kitty Whiskers? Finally ditched you to go solo?"

The growling inside the Owl Feather dome got louder, and for a moment Owlette thought of unleashing the wolf-boy on Romeo. She didn't. Instead she said," Shut up, Romeo."

"Wait, what?" Either Romeo couldn't believe Owlette had just said that to him, Romeo was shocked at the use of the words, or the growling dome had just become apparent to him. Apparently it was the latter.

"What's with that thing?" Romeo asked, hesitantly getting out of the lab.

"A wolf," Gekko replied with amusement.

"What? Why--?!" Romeo trailed off, clearly freaked out by what was going on. "Wolf-- Feathers-- claws..."

"Yep, we trapped a wolf in Owl Feathers and now are talking to you about it and... Wait, did you say 'claws'?" Gekko questioned.

Owlette spun around in time to see a pair of clawed paws ripping through the dome.

"SUPER OWL FEATHERS!" she screamed so loud that Gekko and Romeo had to cover their ears.

Red shot from Owlette's wings and strengthened the dome, keeping back the wolf that was her teammate.

Owlette turned back around to face the two boys watching. "Sorry, what were you saying, Gekko?"

The young boy clad in green said," Just, he was scratched by a Wolfy. What could that possibly have to do with... this... Oh..."

"Yeah. So... Yeah," Owlette said, turning to Romeo. "Are you going to leave, or listen?" Owlette questioned.

"Uhh... listen?" Romeo shrugged.

"Alright," Owlette said. "As long as you're quiet. Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah."
