Chapter 1: Welcome to Beacon Academy
Barton laid his head back against the back of the seat as he was riding with his mothers to the school. He wasn't that excited, but he couldn't say he wasn't happy to be going to Beacon. But for some reason, it just wasn't exciting him as much as he thought. "Maybe I'm just not there yet, and I haven't seen how cool it is. Maybe that's why." he thought to himself. "Hey!" Yang yelled, making him jump a little in his seat. "What, mom?" "We're here." she said. Barton looked to his right side, and saw the airfield where the students take the ships to the school. "Oh. Right." he hopped out of the sidecar, and grabbed his bags. "Alright, i'll see you guys later. I promise i'll call every da-" he was interrupted when he was bear hugged by Yang again. "I'm gonna miss you, baby boy." "Mom! My spine!" there was a soft crunch sound. "Whoops." she let him go. "Sorry. But i am gonna miss you at home." Yang said. Blake walked over and hugged Barton gently. "Have fun, sweetie. Watch over your cousin." "I will, Mom. don't worry." he let her go and was about to head up to the ship when he heard some people walking over to them from behind. "Huh?" he turned around to see Roseline and her parents walking to the stairs. "Hey Cousin. How're you doing today? You excited?" Roseline asked. "Well, i mean…..yeah? I dunno. I figured i'd be more excited than i am now, but i dunno. Maybe once we get up to the school i'll be a lot more excited." Barton said. "Well, i'm super excited, because my parents a-" her mouth was covered by Ruby. "We're coming up with you to help find your rooms!" she said nervously. Barton shrugged and walked further up the stairs, Roseline and her parents following. When they reached the top of the stairs, standing on the platform, waiting for the next ship, a limo pulled up and William stepped out of the back door. "Thanks for the ride, mom. Have a good day at work. Hopefully Ironwood will stop being such a pain and finally go into retirement and stop hassling you?" Weiss giggled. "You know Ironwood, William. He's just being the best that can be. I'll see you later. Have fun." "I will, mom. I just wish dad was here to say bye to me." William said. "Who said i wasn't?" William turned around to his dad, wearing the same armor from when he was a teen. "You still fit that armor, dad?" William joked. "Well, no. that's because this armor is yours now." "Really?" Jaune nodded, taking the armor off and putting it in a special carrying bag, handing it to William. "It's yours, kiddo. You'll need it when you face the Grimm." William smiled and hugged Jaune. "Thanks dad." "sure thing kiddo, i'll see you soon hopefully. You're gonna be a great Hunter." William smiled more. "Thanks…...well, I better get up to the platform" he said. Jaune nodded and got in the limo with Weiss. "You're gonna do great, kiddo." Jaune said before closing the door. William smiled and walked up the stairs, standing with the others. "Hey there, fancy pants." Barton said. William rolled his eyes. "And here comes the mediocre jokes from the cat." William sighed. Barton chuckled, and Roseline giggled at his humor. "Aww, come on, Willie. He's just messing around." William rolled his eyes again. "My name is not Willie. It's William David Arc. a proud and strong name." Barton snickered. "Oh sure. "William" is a strong name. Heh heh heh. Wait, I think it actually is a strong name." William chuckled proudly. "See?" they conversation was interrupted when they heard someone cheering high pitched. "WOOOOOO HOOOO!" Barton's Faunus ears twitched and he covered them. "O-ow!" William did the same with his normal ears. "That freaking hurts!" Yolanda landed right next to them, flipping her long hair out of her eyes. "Hey guys!" "Ugh, Yoldana will you please stop yelling? My ears hurt." Barton said. "Sorry, B. just so excited to finally start going to Beacon. This is so exciting! We're gonna be Hunters and Huntresses!" William cleared his throat. "Yes, true indeed. Being a Hunter will certainly help me protect my family legacy." Roseline rolled her eyes. "Oh god, are you still letting that whole "Second heir to the throne" thing going to your head?" Roseline said. "What? No, of course not. Sure it's exciting, but trust me, it is not going to my head." the 4 of them continued their conversation until the transport ship landed on the air pad, and the group got onto the large ship with the other students, the ship soon taking off.
Yolanda ran to the front of the ship, and leaned out, holding her arms straight out. "I'm flying, William! I'm flyii-" she was pulled by William. "Stay away from there or you'll fall!" Yolanda stepped backwards, leaning against him. "Awww, someone cares about my safety. Does someone have a-" "No!" William yelled with a blush. "I-i mean, you're a very pretty girl and I do admire the color scheme, b-but i just think that…." he rambled on and on, trying to cover up his tracks, and Barton and Roseline both stood behind them, smirking and watching William fumble his words. "I bet you 20 Lien that they get together before the first year ends." Barton whispered to his cousin. "You're on." the two pinky swore as they passed through the clouds, and Beacon came into view, at least the large towers were, before the ship lowered down to the ground, landing on the landing pad, where the true spectacle that was Beacon Academy came into view. Yolanda's eyes sparkled in amazement. "Whoa…." was all she said. William stood beside her, hands behind his back, looking at the large school. "Yes….whoa." Roseline was bouncing up and down at the chance of a lifetime that she was about to go into. "Mom, Dad, look! We're here!...mom? Dad?" she looked behind her, but her parents were gone. "Huh? Where'd they go?" "they probably went ahead of us, cuz. Come on!" Barton jumped over the front of the ship and landed on his feet. Roseline sighed, rolling her eyes. "My cousin is so crazy." and she and the others walked down the ramp, and followed Barton to the gates. They noticed he stopped just before he crossed the line into the school's grounds. "You ok, B?" Yolanda asked. "Yeah…..just a little nervous." he said, taking a deep breath, and takes a step, passing the line. "Whew…...this is it." the 4 followed the other students to the meeting hall. The 4 stood ahead of everyone else, near a large stage. "I wonder who the headmaster is." Barton said. "Ever since Ozpin, no one else really took the job." suddenly, he heard 2 people walk onto the stage, and noticed who it was. "Huh? Uncle Oscar? Aunt Ruby?" Oscar smiled, and he was using Ozpin's cane like Ozpin did before, like a walking cane. "Welcome everyone. Welcome to Beacon Academy. I am the new Headmaster, Oscar Pine." Barton's jaw dropped. "Whaaat?" Oscar gestured to Ruby. "And this is my wife, Ruby Pine. She is the new weapons expert teacher for Beacon." Ruby waved as Oscar's body glowed a greenish color, and Ozpin came through. "And i, as many of you know, am Ozpin. My soul and mind is merged with Oscar, so you can say, there are 2 headmasters here." Ozpin switched back with Oscar. "And we hope you will all be excited to be here. Tomorrow, the test will begin." Barton was still surprised as everyone left to go sleep in one of the cafeterias. "B, you coming?" Yolanda asked. "My aunt and uncle are the leaders of the school?!"
