The next day, December 5th, Norway's house.

Today was the day of Norway's big "plan". When we arrived last night, Lukas made us some Grandiosa Pizza and we watched TV till around 9, then we went to bed. We woke up around 8 this morning, and it's around 10 now. Denmark is packing the car full of our stuff and gifts, and we are about to go.

"Do you think they will like these? I found them at a market last week."

Norway bought out a tray full of food and some beer.

"Yeah, it looks good."

"I thought so too. I already packed Peter's present, and Sve and Fin's present. This is extra."

I nodded and looked over the plate. Cheese, meats, and bread. They would enjoy that.

"Oh," I went to a kitchen cabinet to pull out a box of tea, and like a million tea boxes rained down on me.

"... they might like some tea too."

I grumbled.

Norway stifled a laugh.

Denmark walked through the front door.

"All of Ice's stuff is…" He cocked his head and looked at me with confusion. "Why are you covered in tea?"

Norway leaned against the wall because he was weak with laughter.

"Don't you mean he is… Iced tea?!" Nor could barely contain himself. I rolled my eyes at his joke.

"Will you help me pick this up!?"

My red-faced, out-of-character brother came over and picked up the tea.

"Wow Ice! You made Norway laugh! I haven't seen him do that sin-"

"Be quiet, Matthias." Norway stood up, regaining his cool composure. "Put this tray and beer into the car and don't open them. Iced Tea will help you."

"That's it. I'm done!" I grabbed my backpack and went out the door into the car.

"Aww, Nor was just teasing!" Denmark laughed as exited the house.

My brother can be such an embarrassing idiot sometimes. He's usually not the type to crack jokes, but as I said, the holiday season makes you feel fuzzy and happy inside. Maybe it makes Lukas go insane. I buckled in and started to play on my phone. I guess the only thing I can do now is hope Sweden and Finland are in their right mind…

5 hours later, in Sweden

"Emil, wake up. We're here." Norway pushed on my shoulder.

I looked out the window. Yes, this was right near Sweden's house, but why not park in the driveway like usual?

"Nor, why are we all the way out here?"

"That's because it's a surprise." Nor replied.

"What?!" It's confirmed. Lukas is 150% insane. "You can't show up at Sve's house when he's sick!"

"Relax, Sealand knows."

The kid?! Why does Sealand know and not Fin or Sve?! Nor and Den got out of the car and started unloading the car.

"Besides, the walk is only *COUGH* five minutes, Ice!" Denmark enthusiastically assured me.

Yes, five minutes of trekking through the cold when all of us are sick.

"Fine."

I grabbed my stuff and we walked to Sweden's house. While Finland spent most of his time with Berwald anyway, he basically has been living here during our global crisis.

All three of us paused when we looked at the front of the house. No Christmas decorations in sight. This whole year is so trippy, literal Santa doesn't have his decorations up. How do we know they even want us here?

"Nor… are you sure about this?" I asked him again. Even Denmark gave him a skeptical look. Lukas sniffed and took a deep breath.

"Of course. Let's go get the stuff." We walked up and Nor knocked. We heard running from inside.

"Oh boy, you're all here!" Sealand said, jumping up and down.

"Good afternoon, Peter, and Merry Christmas." Norway greeted and we proceeded into the foyer and took our coats off.

"Mama and Papa are gone for around three hours, let's get to work!" Sealand instructed. This wasn't what I signed up for, but we had fun.

Over the next two hours, I and the other three hung up Christmas lights, baked cookies, and cleaned the house. There were tissues EVERYWHERE, dishes piled up in the sink, mounds of dirty laundry in the bedrooms, and they were running low on food.

With each task we did, I wondered if this was more of a help or a burden. Yeah sure, we're cleaning, but we are also putting up decorations that need to be taken down in not too long. Will they even eat our cookies? Who knows if they can keep stuff down? And I felt so bad for Sealand, being the only healthy one out of his whole family.

My concerns didn't really peak till Denmark and Sea came in from putting lights on some pine trees outside.

"Iceland, can you get Uncle Denmark some medicine? He has a horrible headache."

"No, no, I'm ok, I'm the King of Scandinavia after all!"

An obvious lie. Denmark looked like he had been in a fight with the pine tree rather than decorate it.

"What's going on here?" Norway walked in, covered in cookie batter.

"Den isn't feeling well." I told him. He raised one eyebrow and put his hand on Denmark's forehead.

"I will get you some medicine, come with me."

We all walked into the kitchen, where Nor gave Denmark some aspirin and told Peter to get him resting in the guest bed. When they left, Lukas sat at the counter and rested his head on his arm.

"Are you feeling ok?" I asked.

He sighed. "You might have been right."

"About what?"

"About not being sure about this. We are all so sick… I didn't want to make Matthias feel worse, Ice, I only wanted…"

He turned away. I heard him sniff and cough. "I wanted us all to be together again." He croaked.

I put my hand on his back.

"It… it's ok, Lukas."

"No, it's not. I guess I thought because we can't give it to each other, everything would work out. I should have thought more."

"Well, maybe you should have thought more about Den in the snow, but I think that Sve and Fin will love this."

He looked over at me skeptically. "Are you sure?" His eyes looked glassy, I couldn't tell if he had started to tear up earlier or not.

"Já. Especially the cleaning at the least, it was a dump in here."

"That is true. And the cookies turned out good."

"They did."

He still looked sad. I guess I'll humor him… I mean it is the Christmas season.

"Well, my Stóri bróðir made them, so of course they are good."

Norway's smirk returned.

"And they look nice, so it's no surprise my Lillebror decorated them."

"Ok, that's enough." I rolled my eyes at him. He was embarrassing, but at least no one was around. I sat back down and we enjoyed the silence for a little while until Sealand came downstairs.

"Uncle Denmark is ok, and he should be good for when Mama and Papa show up. Do you two want to play some board games?!"

We agreed, and played with Sealand for about 45 minutes.

"Hey guys!"

Denmark poked his head around the stairs. I literally have never seen Norway stand up as fast as when he heard Den. He walked over and felt Denmark's head, and gave a small smile.

"It's gone down. Are you feeling better?"

"Yes, I just needed to *cOuGH* get out of that cold!" He laughed.

"I am sorry Denmark, it was foolish of me to send you out for so long."

Denmark gave a surprised but happy look and pulled Norway into a hug.

"Don't worry about it!" I knew Nor appreciated Den's affection, though by his looks of annoyance while his life was being squeezed out of him would say the opposite.

"Oh, everyone come quick! Mama and Papa are here!"

We ran behind Sealand and put our coats on. This was it... my heart raced as all the different scenarios played out in my head. As all of us stepped outside, however, my doubts disappeared when we saw the joy illuminate Tino's face as he got out of the passenger seat.

"Sweden! Sweden! Come out here!!!!" Finland rushed to the front of the house to admire the lights, leaving poor Sweden to carry things himself. Thankfully, Peter and Matthias ran over to help him. After admiring the trees and the roof, Finland's eyes settled on me and Nor.

"Oh you guys!!!" He ran up and hugged each of us. "You all are so wonderful, neither me or Berwald had the energy this year to put them up, and…"

His eyes started to tear up and he pulled some tissues out of his pocket. "I'm so grateful!! SWEDEN HURRY HURRY YOU GOTTA SAY HI TO NORWAY AND ICELAND!!" He yelled.

"You have a pretty good voice." I noticed.

"Oh, my voice has been mostly unaffected, I unfortunately get very bad aches though. That's why I couldn't get on a ladder. But oh, you and Matthias are even worse than me, how did you manage, Lukas?" Norway just smiled.

"It was all thanks to my Lillebror."

Sigh, he's at it again.

"H'llo, Ice" Sweden greeted in a low, raspy voice as him, Denmark and Sealand came up the steps.

"Sve, you don't sound too good."

"I'm feelin' ok t'day."

"He can't speak much, Ice." Finland chimed in.

"But he'll write out any long things he has to say once we get inside!"

I internally stifled some laughter. Did Sweden really ever have anything long to say? We went in, and both Finland and Sweden stopped in amazement. The large Christmas tree in their living room was lit up and fully decorated.

"Sweden! Look at this! They thought of everything! And they even helped clean!"

Now Finland's tears had broken and he was full-on crying tears of joy. I honestly didn't expect them to have such an intense, happy reaction.

"N'tepad" Sweden mumbled to Fin.

"Oh, yes, let me get it!!" He went to the kitchen and bought back a notebook, which he gave to Sweden.

Sve sat down and started writing fast in it. We all stood around a bit awkwardly for a minute while Finland dried his tears.

"Tino, do you want a birthday present?" I asked.

"YES!! I had thought everyone forgot, it usually gets swept up in the holidays..."

"Here you go," I picked up a bag from under the tree and shoved it in Fin's hand.

"Everyone was talking about them at our last meeting… so I thought I'd order a special one for you."

As soon as Finland opened up the bag, I knew I had given the perfect present. He held up the white and light blue lopapeysa.

"This is beautiful, Emil. Thank you so much!!" He threw his arms around me again.

"You're welcome, but that's not all."

I picked up the remaining presents I bought and gave them out.

"I custom ordered them for you all."

I had an old friend who's made them for decades, so back in the summer, I had asked her to make them. They were kind of expensive, but at least no one would ever judge my closet full of them again.

"Ice, these are amazing!" Denmark said as he pulled out his white and red lopapeysa. Nor nodded in agreement as he pulled out his, smiling as he saw how ours matched. Even Sealand really liked it.

"If I wear this, everyone will recognize me as a real nation!! Thanks, Iceland!"

"Mmm, Ice."

Sweden came over and put the notepad he had written in, into my hands. I skimmed over it and smiled.

"What does it say, Ice?" Fin peered over my shoulder.

"It says,"

To all of you,

Thank you so much for decorating and cleaning our house, it means the world to me that you all still came despite what's going on in the world. I am so happy to have such a great family.

Also, I love the sweater Ice, thank you for coming all this way even though you hate flying when you're sick.

God jul,

Sverige.

Wow. Maybe we should have Berwald write more often, he's good at getting his thoughts out on paper.

"Thanks Sve, but it's all Nor's idea. He wanted us to be together more than anything."

Sweden nodded and turned to Norway.

"Th'nks s' m'ch, Nor."

"Of course. It wouldn't have been a "God" Jul without you all."

"Aww, Norway!!"

Denmark and Finland hugged Norway, and Sweden and Sealand followed.

"And I couldn't have any Christmas without my Lillebror."

They all looked over at me and Lukas beckoned me to join the pile.

Sigh. My family can be so embarrassing sometimes. But I joined the pile, because no one was watching, and of course, it wouldn't be a Merry Christmas without my Fjölskylda. My crazy, wonderful Family.
