Chapter 12: The Beacon Tournament
The day had finally come. Today was the day of the first tournament to take place in the new Beacon Coliseum, after Amity Coliseum was sent into the atmosphere with a radio tower. It had taken a lot of time to build it, but it had finally finished 2 years ago, and now, the Vital Tournament was finally coming back around. Oscar was in his office, working on some papers as the others were setting up the new technological battle fields the Amity Coliseum had. Ruby walked in and walked to his desk. "Oscar, come on. We're all done setting up. The other students and their teachers will be here soon." "I know. I just need to finish up this paperwork and i'll be down there in a second. I just hope the extra security will help." Ruby rolled her eyes, smiling. "Of course it will. It's Winter, Penny, and Ironwood. The 3 of them together, the tournament will be like Atlas. No one would be able to get in without any of them or their teams figuring it out." Oscar stopped writing, and exhaled, relaxing. "You're right." he stood up. "How're Teams RWBY and VBRT doing? Do you think they're ready?" "I think so. After that training session yesterday, they'll be ready." she said. "Alright. Let's get down there and see how they're preparing." they walked to the elevator and took it down to the training field, where Team RWBY had just finished a big final training session with Yang and Blake, who were both tired and sweating, more than the new Team RWBY was. "Dang…..you kids are good." Yang said. "Thanks mom…..whew." Barton said. "Alright kiddos. Head down to the Coliseum. It's almost time for the tournament." Oscar said, and the 4 students ran towards the Coliseum.
"Welcome everyone, to the Vital Tournament at Beacon Coliseum!" announced Port, who was sitting with Oobleck. "Today marks the first Tournament we have done since the fall of beacon, something we wish never happened, but nothing will keep us down! For the first match today, we have Team TNNL from Shade Academy VS Team TRGT from Atlas!" the two teams made their way into the ring and prepared to fight as Team RWBY and Team VRBT sat together, watching the fight. "This is gonna be so cool! We're going to absolutely win!" Yolanda said excitedly. "I still feel like we should have trained a little more." William said. "Oh come on, William. We trained enough. We're going to be fine." Roseline replied. "Yeah. Just sit back and enjoy the show." Barton said. William sighed, crossing his arms, and sat back against the seat. "Fine." While that was going on, Oscar was talking with Penny, Ironwood, and Winter, who set up plenty of security measures and defenses around the coliseum and the surrounding area. "Now you're absolutely sure that no one that is not a part of the tournament or the audience will be able to get in illegally?" Oscar asked. "Yes, sir. We've made sure that every way an enemy could have snuck in is secured and shut down for them. I promise!" Penny said. Winter nodded. "And with me, especially, then this tournament will go without a hitch. No sane criminals would attack a tournament where 2 Maidens were standing by." Ironwood nodded. "But we must still be vigilant. Are you sure i can't bring in more security? Because i have the authority t-" "It'll be quite alright, Ironwood. Penny and Winter can handle anything that's going on. You just go and relax while watching the tournament." Oscar said. Ironwood was about to say something, but sighed, nodding, walking to his seat. "I'm counting on you two, ok?" Winter and Penny nodded, walking off to investigate other areas of the coliseum. Oscar walked back inside just as he heard the alarm for the end of the match. "Ladies and Gentlemen, let's give it up for Team TRGT of Atlas Academy!" Oobleck said as Team TRGT waved to the crowd and left the battlefield. "Oooh, we're after this next fight!" Yolanda said excitedly. "Yeah. i wonder which team we'll be going against. Someone from Shade? Or maybe Atlas? Ooh, i hope it's some team from Atlas. I'm not a huge fan of them. I know they're not bad, but what they did to my people back then is still not cool." Barton said. "Oh trust me, Barton. I don't really like them either. Even if my family has made sure that they are not like how my grandpa told them to act back when my mom was my age, i still don't have much of a soft spot for them either." William said. "Will you two stop talking about politics and just watch the fight?!" Yolanda said excitedly, jumping up and down in her seat, watching the next 2 teams enter the battle.
Meanwhile, back in the town of Vale, about half a mile away from the coliseum, Peter, Neo, who was in disguise as a Rabbit Faunus lady, and Kristopher, carrying a case, were walking with a small crowd towards the coliseum. "Exceptional work, you two. Once we get inside, we'll unleash hell upon all. Kristopher, you know what to do once we're inside, right?" Kristopher gave a thumbs up, smiling. "Good. Neo, once you finish your part, contact Kristopher so he can begin his part. And once we've finished phase one, Bronson, Rydin, and Carla will begin phase two. We must not fail." His followers nodded in agreement as they walked through the gates of the coliseum. Neo walked to the left, following a crowd towards the balcony seats, Kristopher walked to the right, walking into the ventilation systems room, and Peter walked forward, and he found a seat near the front row, sitting down. "Might as well watch the fabulous show." he watched as two teams of students were fighting it out. "Oh, how I loathe mindless destruction…...these students….all cheering for destruction that has no purpose. Huntsman and Huntresses will never exist in my paradise. Only human and Faunus who truly live together…...if i have to do this, then so be it." He took out some small binoculars and looked up into the balcony, seeing Neo as she was placing small versions of Kristopher's spiders into every other seat in the balcony. He tapped his ear, having an earpiece there. "Good, good. That's enough. With these spiders, they'll infect people with my virus, and we'll command them to cause mayhem." Neo smirked, finishing up, and skipped her way down towards Peter's seat, kicking the door to the ventilation systems room, to which Kristopher heard and took a computer and wires out of his carrying case, plugging the wire into his computer and then into an electronic device that was attached to the electrical systems. "Now then….." he started typing on the computer, placing plenty of viruses and bugs into the electrical system. "Almost done. Once the electrical systems are done, these people will be pissing in the dark." he snickered. "Oh I'm terrible." he finished up, and touched his earpiece. "Alright, Leader Khan. I've uploaded my viruses into the electrical system. Give me the word, and I'll have security systems, lights, everything offline." Peter grinned evilly, proud of his work, but when he looked ahead, he noticed Team RWBY was entering the field. "You know what? Come back up to the stands, both of you. Let's watch this fight before we begin." Kristopher and Neo both walked to Peter, taking a seat with him. "Plus, knowing your enemy will also help as well."
