It was the night of Christmas Eve and there were now 2 months left until the U.A Entrance Exam.

Kyouka was currently wearing her usual clothes that kept her warm along with her scarf and beanie as she stood by the railing of Dagobah Municipal Beach Park.

Kyouka looked up at the starry night sky before sighing in frustration. 'This has to be the perfect Christmas gift. I owe it to him for that guitar he gave me on my birthday. Dammit, Izuku. Why'd you have to raise the bar so high?'

"HO HO HO! I AM HERE! SAVING CHRISTMAS LIKE A HERO!" All Might shouted as he appeared out of nowhere, wearing a Santa Claus costume along with a fake beard and a large sack.

"All Might?! What are you doing here?! Kyouka asked before noticing All Might's costume. "And what's with the getup?"

"Well, I was passing by and thought I would say hello! And I thought this outfit would be perfect for raising everyone's spirits this holiday!" The muscular man explained as he put down the sack. "Is it working on you, young Jirou?!"

"Um… Yeah… Really raises my spirits. Makes me almost want to go caroling…" The purple haired girl said with a forced smile.

'He looks so ridiculous with that outfit on.' Kyouka thought to herself as she resisted rolling her eyes.

"I knew you'd understand! Oh, how I love the holidays and how they bring everyone together!" All Might exclaimed as he placed his hands on his hips before transforming into his scrawny form. "Hm, I notice young Midoriya isn't with you. Mind if I ask where he is?"

The young girl shook her head as she leaned against the railing. "He went to go Christmas shopping to get something for his mom."

"On Christmas Eve? Seems a little ill-prepared for the kid." The scrawny man said as he raised an eyebrow.

"Well, it's not like he had much time with your 'Aim to Pass American Dream Plan.'" Kyouka muttered as she sighed. "Christmas shopping is a pain in the ass as it is. I can't imagine only having one day to do it."

"Yeah, you're not wrong." All Might said as he took off his fake beard. "So what'd you get for young Midoriya?"

The young girl immediately looked away before mumbling. "I didn't get him anything yet…"

"You didn't get him anything yet?" The number one hero asked in confusion. "What's your excuse for taking so long?"

Kyouka groaned a little as she twirled around her earphone jack. "It's just that I've been spending all month trying to think of the perfect gift for him. And so far I've come up with nothing. I'm up to my wit's end now."

"Have you tried asking around to get an idea of what he wants?" All Might asked as he cupped his chin.

Kyouka nodded as she kicked a pebble on the ground. "I did try asking him, but…"

Flashback

Izuku and Kyouka were walking home from school after being done with the last day of their final exams.

Kyouka stretched as she smiled. "We're finally done with finals and soon we'll be on winter break. It feels good to have exams off the mind."

Izuku gave a nervous chuckle as he gripped his backpack straps. "Yeah… Having exams off the mind…"

The purple haired girl realized what he meant before trying to immediately fix her mistake. "W-Well, I just mean that we can enjoy the winter season without any extra stress! Plus, you're making amazing progress with your training so far!"

The quirkless boy smiled at the compliment before shaking his head. "Sorry if I'm being such a downer with remembering the entrance exams. It's just hard not to think about with just a little over 2 months left."

"You're not a downer. It makes sense that you're worried about these exams, but try your best to enjoy the winter season." Kyouka said as she put her hand on his shoulder. "And hey, aren't Christmas Eve and Christmas your days off in the workout plan All Might gave you?"

Izuku nodded as he let out a frosty breath. "Yeah, I want to use Christmas Eve to go out shopping for my mom. I think I can manage to get her a great gift in one day."

"Gifts are usually pretty difficult." The young girl stated before smirking. "You sure you're up for the challenge?"

The young boy gave a small smirk back as he raised his fist. "If I can't find her a gift that's good enough then I'll give up being All Might's successor."

Kyouka smiled at this as she remembered the gifts they gave each other for Christmas in these past 2 years.

In their first year, the two friends merely gave each other scarves so they could stay warm in the winter season.

Kyouka gave Izuku a scarf that had purple and green stripes to secretly symbolize the two of them being together.

On the other hand, Izuku gave her a scarf that had red, blue, and yellow stripes, obviously resembling All Might's color scheme.

In their second year, they gave each other warm clothing again to keep things simple.

Kyouka got her hero red gloves to match his shoes and Izuku got her a dark blue beanie that even covers her ears.

But this year, she didn't want to get Izuku just plain old warm clothing. She wanted to get him something that truly shows how much she means to him.

Now she has a chance to ask him what he wants and end the constant stress she's had about it all month.

"So, Izuku… what do you want for Christmas?" Kyouka asked before whistling and looking up at the sky, trying to look as natural as possible.

The young girl continued to whistle as she took glances at him, seeing him think about it. 'Just say anything. I know you wouldn't ask for something I could never afford. So hit me with your best shot.'

"A PS Vita." Izuku simply said with a blank look on his face.

'A PS Vita?! Seriously?!' Kyouka thought to herself as she stared at the boy, not believing what she heard.

"I-Izuku, why would you want that? You've never been the type to show interest in the type of stuff." The purple haired girl stated before shaking her head. "B-But hey, if you want it then I'll be glad to get you one! It might be a little pricey though…"

The quirkless boy suddenly began to burst out laughing as he held onto his stomach. "I'm sorry, I couldn't keep that up for much longer!

Kyouka blinked a little as she stared at her hero. "So you don't want a PS Vita?"

Izuku's laughter began to die down as he regained his composure. "Of course I don't. I didn't think you'd actually believe my little joke."

"That's a cruel trick to play on your best friend, you know!" The young girl shouted as she grabbed Izuku by the shoulders and began to shake him. "What if I told you that I wanted something like that?! Huh?!"

The young boy was getting a little dizzy from the shaking as he sweatdropped. "I-I'd probably believe you as well! A-And this shaking is getting me a little bit dizzy!"

Kyouka widened her eyes as she stopped shaking him and let go of his shoulders. "Sorry about that… Still, you're seriously not going to tell me what you want?"

"Kyouka, I don't really want anything specific. You shouldn't feel the need to get me something purely because I want it. I have faith in your gift-giving." Izuku said with a wide smile before continuing to walk.

Kyouka stood still for a few seconds and facepalmed before walking with her hero.

"An amateur move, young Jirou. You never directly ask a person what they want for Christmas. You have to ask different types of questions and pick up on the subtle hints." All Might explained as he put his fake beard back on and stroked it, looking like an expert.

"Oh, yeah? Well, did you get him anything?" Kyouka asked as she stuck her tongue out at him.

The number one hero smirked before suddenly transforming back into his muscle form and pulling out a large poster of himself. "What do you think?! Here I have a limited edition poster from my 20th anniversary as a hero! There are only 500 of these in the world, you know! It may not be as rare as my 10th anniversary poster, but I think this should suffice!"

"Hey, that's cheating!" The purple haired girl accused as she pointed at the hero. "Of course you have access to stuff like that! And you're probably filthy rich, being the number one hero and all!"

All Might rolled up the poster and put it away before laughing. "You gotta use your resources to your advantage, young Jirou! But fear not, for I will help you find a gift for young Midoriya!"

"Wouldn't it be easier if you just gave me the money to buy something super cool for him?" Kyouka asked as she gave him a deadpanned look.

The muscular man wagged his finger as he shook his head. "Nope! A Christmas gift must come directly from you! And to make things easier for you, I'll even take you to find a gift! I'm sure looking in various stores will bring you inspiration!"

"Directly from me, huh? The young girl asked before nodding. "Alright, All Might. Let's go find Izuku a gift."

"Excellent! Now, let's go! I'll take us to the city in a single leap and we can shop from there!" All Might shouted, but before he could have Kyouka hop on his back, he transformed back into his scrawny form as he spat out a lot of blood. "Oh… Looks like my energy is used up for today. Guess we'll take a taxi then."

Kyouka facepalmed before starting to walk towards the road. "You are something else, All Might."

Both All Might and Kyouka were now at the shopping district in the city as they walked past different stores, trying to find the perfect gift for Izuku.

Unfortunately, Kyouka was left dragging the sack around with All Might not having the strength to carry it. "W-What are you even carrying in this thing?!"

"Hm? Oh, it's filled with lumps of coal. I decided to give one to every criminal I stopped today to give a message to children that committing crimes will get you Santa's naughty list." All Might explained with a confident smile. "Clever, right?"

His response was an earphone jack jammed into the ear before Kyouka began dumping out all of the coal. "You made me drag freaking coal?! I was expecting presents for orphans or something!"

"I was going to use that coal for a cozy bonfire fire tonight!" The scrawny man whined as he laid on the ground, tears streaming down his eyes.

"Well, now you can have this sack to burn as fuel." The young girl said before throwing the sack on the hero's head.

All Might began to stand up as he grabbed the sack and slung it over his shoulder. "You know, treating your elders like this will get you on the naughty list as well, young Jirou…" He then noticed a shop that sold gym equipment before pointing at it. "How about some new weights? The kid does love to work out."

Kyouka shook her head as she placed her hand on her hip. "No, it wouldn't feel right to give him plain old weights. Plus, the ones he has right now aren't even a year old yet. It's too soon."

"Hm, how about we look around that shop?" The scrawny man suggested as he pointed at a toy shop.

"He's 15, not 7. And let's be honest, the only toy he'd want is a limited edition toy of you." The young girl said with a sigh.

All Might smirked as he crossed his arms. "Those are high quality and not easy to find. I may not understand his obsession over those figurines, but I wouldn't call them simple toys."

"Okay, your 'perfect figurines.'" Kyouka said in a mocking tone as she did some air quotes with her fingers. "We have to find something a lot better, old man."

"You don't have to call me 'old man', you know." The scrawny man mumbled before looking at the dozens of stores around them. "Well, we just have to look inside every store and hope to find something. We have 2 hours left until midnight, so we have the time."

The young nodded as she gulped, nervous about this search as she looked up at the clock tower that was at the center of the shopping district. "Okay, we can do it… How hard can it be?"

Kyouka groaned in frustration as she gripped her beanie. "We've been looking around for almost 2 hours now and we haven't gotten anything! It's going to be midnight soon and then all the stores will be closed!"

All Might noticed that people were staring at them as he gently patted her back. "It's okay, young Jirou. We still have half an hour left and there are still a few stores we haven't checked out yet."

"What's the point?" The young girl asked as she sat on the edge of the sidewalk. "It's not like we're gonna find anything at this point."

"This isn't like you, young Jirou. You're usually a more stubborn girl who keeps pushing until she gets the results she wants." The scrawny man said before sitting right next to her. "Why give up now?"

"Cause I expected to find Izuku the perfect gift for Christmas and I just can't find or think of anything." Kyouka mumbled as laid her head on her knees. "Now I have to settle for some stupid gift like slippers or a gift card. He'll be so disappointed."

"Be honest, what do you want young Midoriya to give you for Christmas?" All Might asked as he gave a small smile.

The young girl looked taken aback by the sudden question before letting out a frosty breath. "What do I want Izuku to give me? Honestly, I couldn't care less what he gives me." She then smiled as she raised her head. "Because I know that what gets me will come from the heart. That's just the kind of guy he is."

"You told me that both you and young Midoriya just gave each other warm clothing for 2 years in a row, right?" The number one hero asked before getting a nod from Kyouka. "So tell me, were you happy when you received those gifts?

Kyouka nodded again with zero hesitation. "Of course I was. What kind of question is that?"

All Might ignored the question before smiling wider at her. "And how would you feel if some random guy or girl gave you the exact same gift? Would you feel the same happiness?"

"Definitely not." The purple haired girl said in an instant as she shook her head. "I'd be grateful, sure, but it just wouldn't be the same. Not even close."

The scrawny man then snapped his fingers as he smirked. "Now you finally understand."

"Understand?" The young girl asked as she tilted her head. "What exactly do I understand?"

"That the gift itself isn't what's important." All Might said as he stood up. "It's always the thought behind the gift that counts. If you give something to young Midoriya that you truly believe that he'll love then there's no doubt in my mind that he'll love it."

Kyouka took a few moments to let the hero's words sink before looking up at him. "If I give him something that I truly believe he'll love, huh?

The number one hero nodded before patting the top of her head. "Exactly. Christmas gifts always seem like they're the hardest to get, but in reality, it's the easiest as long as you know the person well enough."

The young girl stood up as she closed her eyes for a few seconds to think before opening them. "You're right. I was overthinking what to get him, but now I think I have the perfect idea for a gift."

"Oh yeah? What's this perfect idea of yours?" All Might asked as he placed his hand on his hip.

"That's a secret." Kyouka said with a smirk before looking at the hero. "But before I go… Are you sure you don't want to change out of that outfit? You kind of look like a homeless man with how baggy that costume is on you."

"I do not look like a homeless man." The scrawny man stated as he frowned. "You're just imagining things."

The purple haired girl shrugged her shoulder before putting her hands in her pockets. "Alright, have it your way. Try to collect enough money so we can have a bite to eat when I'm back."

All Might scoffed as he watched Kyouka run off before shaking his head. "Homeless man. She has no idea what she's talking about."

It was now 5 minutes until midnight and All Might was sitting against the wall with the sack at his feet that was filled up with some money. 'I can't believe how many people legitimately thought I was a homeless man. It's so demeaning.'

The worst part was when he tried to give the money back, people just ran away from him, probably scared of catching a disease or something.

'I wonder what's taking young Jirou so long. She seemed like she had the perfect idea of what she wanted to get for young Midoriya.' The scrawny man thought to himself as he adjusted his fake beard before hearing some footsteps approach him. 'It better not be another donation. I feel like I lose another piece of my dignity every time I get one.'

"Here, mister. Try to get yourself something to eat and a warm blanket. It's going to be a very cold night." A muffled voice of a young boy said before dropping a generous donation on the sack.

"For the last time, I'm not homeless!" All Might shouted as he raised his fist before seeing Izuku right in front of him whose mouth was covered by his scarf. "Young Midoriya?"

Izuku widened his eyes as he recognized the voice of his idol before pulling down his scarf a little to free his mouth. "A-All Might?! Is that you?!"

The number one hero immediately put his hand over the boy's mouth before looking around to see that the area was pretty much empty now as he sighed in relief. "Yeah, it is. What are you doing here so late at night?"

"Well, I just couldn't decide what to buy so I browsed every store. And I took about an hour to perfectly wrap the two gifts I bought..." The young boy said as he glanced at the bag he was currently holding before looking back at All Might. "But what about you? I didn't expect to find you here. I could've sworn I saw you on the news a few hours ago stopping some robbery."

"Oh, I'm all done with hero work for the night. Now I'm helping young Ji-" All Might began to say before placing his hand over his mouth to stop himself from saying any more.

'Oh crap! That was a close one. If young Jirou found out that I told young Midoriya about her journey to get him a gift then she would definitely let me have it.' The scrawny man thought to himself as he felt a chill run down his spine.

"You're helping who?" Izuku asked as he tilted his head.

"I'm back, All Might! Sorry I took a little longer than expected, bu- Izuku?!" Kyouka shouted as she ran towards them and noticed her hero.

The green haired boy waved at his best friend as he smiled. "Hey, Kyouka!" He then looked at All Might as he smiled. "Oh, so that's who you were helping. That makes sense."

The young girl finally reached them and was holding a small cardboard box in hand as she cleared her throat. "So… did you find a good gift for mom?"

"Yeah, it took me a lot longer than expected, but I think I got a gift that she'll love." Izuku said with a nod. "I even picked out your gift too."

"Y-You did?" Kyouka asked as she gripped onto her box. "So did I… It's right here actually."

The green haired boy rubbed the back of his neck as he laughed. "Funny coincidence how we both get each other gifts on the same night and in the same area."

The clock tower suddenly began to chime, causing the two friends to look at it and see that it's now midnight before Kyouka smiled at her hero. "Merry Christmas, Izuku."

"Merry Christmas to you too, Kyouka." Izuku said as he smiled back before reaching in his bag. "I was going to give you this tomorrow, but now seems like the perfect time."

The young girl watched as he pulled out a box that was perfectly gift wrapped before looking at the box in her hands. "Are you sure? I mean, the gift I got you isn't even wrapped yet."

"I won't pressure you into giving it to me, but I want you to know that I'd gladly accept it like this." The young boy said with zero doubt in his voice.

Kyouka rubbed her arm before hesitantly holding out the box. "No, I'll give it to you. It'd be crappy of me if you gave me a gift without me giving one."

The two friends then traded gifts as the young girl crossed her fingers behind her back. 'Please like it. Please like it. Please like it. Please.'

"I wonder what's inside..." The green haired boy muttered to himself as he opened the box from the top before looking inside of it. "K-Kyouka… Is this what I think it is?"

He then pulled out a snow globe that had a picture of him and Kyouka inside of it, both smiling at the camera.

"I remember this picture…" Izuku said before gently shaking the snow globe, watching the snowflakes dance around the picture. "We took it on the first day we became third years."

Kyouka nodded as she twirled around her earphone jack. "Yeah, and the next day you met All Might and were given the opportunity to inherit his quirk."

Tears began to fall onto the snow globe as the young boy smiled. "You're right… That's before everything changed. Now I have the chance to become a hero and enter U.A. I love it, Kyouka. Now I'm embarrassed to see you open my gift."

"Don't be. I know your gift is going to be great." The young said with a smile before unwrapping her gift and widening her eyes as she saw a box that contained a CD Player inside. "Whoa, this is a classic CD Player! Aren't these things usually expensive for how rare they are?"

Izuku wiped his tears as he nodded. "Yeah, but this antique shop gave me a good deal on it. It even comes with a few CDs that have plenty of songs on them."

"Awesome. I'm 100% using this tonight." Kyouka said as she held her gift close to her chest. "This gift is amazing, Izuku."

"How about I show off my gift now?" All Might asked before taking out the poster he got for the boy. "This is for you, young Midoriya."

The young girl began to glare at All Might as she clenched her fists, resisting to tear apart that poster. 'Don't show him your gift right after mine, All Might! My gift is going to look like absolute garbage in comparison! Oh, you're so gonna pay for ruining this moment, All Might…'

Izuku took the poster and opened it before gasping. "Whoa, this poster is from your 20th anniversary, All Might. Thank you. I'll hang this up when I get home."

"Wait, what?" Kyouka and All Might simultaneously asked, confused by the lack of enthusiasm from Izuku, considering what the poster is.

They expected him to be jumping for joy at the gift and go full-on fanboy mode, but it just didn't happen.

"Izuku… Are you alright?" Kyouka asked, not wanting to give herself false hope that he likes her gift better.

"Huh? Yeah, I am. Why do you ask?" The green haired boy asked as he looked back at the snow globe, shaking it again.

"No reason." The young girl simply said as she looked to the side.

'Did young Jirou's gift seriously outshine mine?' All Might's thought to himself before smiling. 'Perfect. You truly know what you want, young Midoriya.'

The number one hero then approached the two friends before putting his hands on both of their shoulders. "How about we celebrate Christmas by getting a bite to eat? I know this ramen place that's open 24 hours nearby. Might as well use the money I collected, right? But most of it will come from young Midoriya."

Izuku dropped his head before facepalming. "I deserve that for wrongfully thinking you were a homeless man, All Might."

"I told you that you looked like one." Kyouka said as she put her hand over her mouth to hold in a laugh with some of her laughter escaping.

"Oh, quiet you. Unless you want to pay for your own meal." All Might said with a chuckle as Kyouka stopped laughing completely. "Come on, you two. We don't want to stay out until the sun rises. You still got families to celebrate with in the morning."

The three of them began to walk together, enjoying each other's company for this beautiful and peaceful Christmas night.

Meanwhile, Kyouka kept taking small glances at Izuku the entire time, her smile staying plastered on her face.

'I hope next year's Christmas will be better than this one. But by then, we'll be in U.A and one step closer to becoming heroes.'

Ah, my first oneshot completed! I know it's really cheesy, but I really enjoyed writing it.

I'm not gonna lie, I did take a lot of inspiration from chapter 16 of my story when writing this.

I was originally going to go full comedy with this oneshot, ending with Izuku actually wanting a PS Vita, but in the end I decided that it wouldn't feel totally right to me.

There were actually a lot of things I wanted to include in this chapter, but I didn't want to stuff so much at once.

Plus, I do plan on doing a Christmas chapter in Melody of Love in the future, so that will contain some of the plans I had for this chapter.
