(a basic disclaimer: English is my second language, so if you are gonna write a review specifically about my bad grammar, I am self aware. Now, I will briefly explain the main changes so no one gets confused. Also, this is a re-written version so if you remember the original (almost 0% chance), some things have changed.)

[Changes: Hilda is currently 15, she still lives in the woods, she knows Raven because of an sequence of events that will be explained now, that's all so far.]

It was a Saturday night on the valley, the blue haired girl was going down of the many mountains that surrounded it, and Hilda explored each of them, it was her home, and it might be the only building in kilometers of basically untouched land.

Hila lived with her mother, that was born in the city but moved outside of it. Hilda never met her father or any other human besides her mom, Johanne, but neither of them were lonely, there was plenty of company, like the elfs, little creatures that you need to sing a contract to see.

There was also Hilda's deerfox, Twig, and the one Alfur, a elf that was surprisingly friendly when compared to the others when it comes to humans in general.

-H-Hilda I think that… this was a bad idea…

-Yeah… it is getting late… surprisingly we haven't met any trolls so far.

As they went down the mountain the wind became more and more intense. After some time they finally were close enough to see the lights coming from the windows. They arrived at the door and headed in.

-You arrived quite late, I was getting worried.

-Sorry mom.

The girl and the deerfox sat on the couch and taking a mug of tea. The blizzard was still breaking havoc, but it was going away. On the middle of the night there was a noise, like something crashed on the snow, not loud enough to wake Johanne up but not loud enough to go unnoticed by Hilda.

-…Uh? What wa that…?

She got up and looked out of the window, to find a giant creature laying on the snow. The blizzard made it hard to see what it looked like, but it was certainly not a troll or a giant. It tried to get up but fell back.

-I think it is hurt…

-You are not thinking of-

Before Alfur could finish the phrase Hilda was already dressing up, she normally would not go out when there is blizzard, but she could not let the creature there until morning. She carefully went downstairs and then outside. She walked as carefully as possible to not crush any elf houses and approached the creature.

-Uh… hello?

-AGH! – it turned around – Didn't knew there was anyone up! Can you- AGH! Help me please?

-Uh s-sure! Just me take you… uh…

-Somewhere –AGH! Safe? I'll make this easier.

There was a burst of light and the creature transformed into a smaller version of itself, that was at least very similar to a bird. Hilda took it inside as quietly as possible.

-Appreciated.

-We have to keep it low, mom is asleep… where it hurts?

-Everywhere, but mostly my left wing, I think it is broken or at least very hurt…

-Well, we don't have any vets near, and my mom dosen't like when I bring creatures in so… I guess I will have to deal with this myself.

-Uh… you know how to do this?

-Saw in a movie once… I think we need some sticks a bandage, or cloth…

-Is Trollberg so far away you can't take me there? Just some minutes.

-As I said, no vets near, or any city for that matter! Trollberg is hours of travel away!

-Ah, fine, I guess I have to trust you.

Hilda smilled and ran upstairs, she grabbed two pencils and one old bandage she had to tie them to the wing, she was as careful as possible, at the end it was looking just like in the movies so Hilda could not help but feel proud of her work.

-This is all?

-I think so, maybe tomorrow I will be able to do something better.

-Can't you just, you know, tell your mother?

-I already said, she really doesn't like when I bring creatures in.

-But I am no ordinary creature! I bet if she saw me talking that-

-I don't think it would change much… and if she finds out it would be worse…

-I am not gonna sleep outside.

-What? No, I will take you to my room.

-Oh, thanks, most people are not that kind to talking… magic birds…

-I am not like most people.

[Years later.]

The sun shined through the window, the warmth of the sunlight woke both Twig and Hilda on the smoothest way possible, it was still early but the girl would not let that low her down, she was full of energy and wanted to enjoy the day.

Not everyone was like her.

-…Couldn't you… close the blinds… for once?

-Already complaining?

Raven turned around and closed his eyes.

-C'mon, it's a beautiful day!

-You always say that, and surprise surprise, we end up on a REALLY bad situation.

-Yeah, but I tell you, this is THE perfect day, it is going to be fun!

-I have a terrible feeling about this Alfur…
