Hilda went downstairs, Johanna was still asleep so she prepared a sandwich and tea herself, Raven came to the kitchen a bit later to get hot cocoa, and sat on the couch, taking sips of the drink here and there.

-Sooooo…. What can we do today?

-We could stay home.

-But you suggest that every day!

-And we never do it.

-But it is such a perfect day-

-A perfect day…-he stood up and opened the curtain, there was at least 15 centimeters of snow on the ground- a perfect day for what?

-We can make snow forts, snowmans, sculptures-

-Or we can stay home warm and cozy until we need to leave.

-I am gonna get the snowboard.

-You mean that poorly chopped piece of wood? I already said it, you are gonna break a bone with that thing.

Hilda ignored the comment and went upstairs again, taking a plank of wood with an old red coat of paint that was almost none-existent anymore. The plank was just wide enough so the girl could use it as a snowboard.

She dressed up on some winter clothing and ran downstairs again, almost falling on the last step.

-Are you ever gonna listen to me?

-Not while you act like my mom.

-I have like, 600 years of age I think I know what I am talking about when I say snowboarding on this thing is a death wish.

-Uhu, maybe, but I live only to 80 or so, so I am going to enjoy every bit of my time here.

-It will be much shorter if you keep-

Hilda opened the door and ran outside, she would have to hurry if she wanted to reach a good height. Raven would sometimes take he to the top but he needed to be on a very good mood to cooperate with Hilda's plans.

Raven has been around since him and Hilda first met, he stayed there for shelter but he eventually began living there, only leaving the valley on special occasions, like his annual appearance on the Trollberg Bird Parade, he knew that did not had any effect but he felt bad if the citizens thought they made him mad somehow.

Hilda never actually went to the city, even if her mom incentivized and Raven offered himself a couple times. She never liked the idea of living on the city and the closest she ever got to that was when a giant almost destroyed their house.

After that she convinced herself that she would never enter the city again, the house was basically self-sustainable anyways, and she rarely watched TV with so much to do outside.

Johanne waked up a bit later, she went to the kitchen to make hear tea as usual, and also as usual she saw Raven staring at the carpet doing virtually no movement. She sometimes wondered what he thought about, she was not the kind of person that dreamed about being in other's position but she wished she had the same kind of relationship with Hilda Raven had.

-Good morning…

-….

-Uh… you ok?

-Uh? Ah, ye, sure.

-Hilda is outside already?

-Ye.

-And you are…

-Tired. I feel like I crashed onto a wall wile flying on a tornado.

-Uhu… I know Hilda is not gonna tell me and Alfur probably singed some contract, but you are easy to convince. When did hila go to sleep?

Raven choked on the cocoa from pure surprise, he was not a good liar.

-Uh… t-ten p.m?

-I stayed up until 11 p.m finishing my work, and I could still hear noises.

-I did not take that in consideration… Maybe it was the wind?

-The wind huh? Sure.

-…. Ok ok, we stayed up until two in the morning.

-Doing….

-We played board games.

-Which one?

-T-The one with… ok, we stayed up drawing then we went outside for a flight cuz Hilda would not shut up about it.

-How far?

-….Past the mountains.

-Knew it.

-Let's be honest she can take care of herself, I don't see why you keep getting worried.

-I thought you didn't like her adventures.

-I don't, but I also don't like people asking me what is she doing-

That moment a high pitched screams that got louder and louder, together with some characteristic elf screams, then a bump on the door. Hilda opened the door and entered inside covered in snow and messy hair.

-What did I lose?

-Uh…

-Hilda why were you up flying at two in the morning?

-aahaha… Raven why did you tell?

-Why did you trust me?

-Because I tough you could at least omit something-

-You two, shut! This exactly why I want to move, you are more then old enough to deal with anew home, plus I can get a better job, TV signal-

-But I don't want to move!

-I am all for it, as long as I can stay with you guys.

-Well, by the first time we planned on moving there was a house that allowed pets but now…

-Wait, are we not gonna take Twig and Raven with us!?

-I am sorry but not everything happens on the way we want!

-Wow wow wow, wait, then we have a problem-

- You are not involved on this discussion!

-Hey! There is no need to be rude with him! He lives here too!

-He only lives here because he invited himself.

-That is not true-

-End of the story, we are going to visit Trollberg, today if possible… You can take Alfur and the pets with you…

Hilda went upstairs stepping as hard as she could, the stairs cracked as she went to her room and slammed the door shut.

Raven could do nothing but watch the thing unfold , he did not want to leave but if he had to he still wanted to be with them, and if that wasn't possible conventionally, maybe for the fisrt time, he would actually agree with Hilda on her plans.
