Tegan was sprawled over one of those uncomfortable hospital chairs, trying not to grin at her uncle's pacing. He had turned up some time ago, trying to be there for Lydia while Natalie was out. Not that Lydia had actually talked to him yet.

"You want help getting in the shower?" he asked.

Lydia shot him a look "Maybe if I was four and still taking bubble baths."

Tegan snorted "I can help. If you need me just call, alright?"

"Thanks, Tegan," Lydia smiled lightly, patting her cousin's shoulder on the way past.

"Right, then," Mr Martin mumbled "I'll just wait outside then… Where it's slightly less sarcastic."

"Are you okay, Uncle?" Tegan asked, sitting up on the chair, letting her back crack. She had been here practically all weekend since Lydia was admitted.

Mr Martin looked at his niece and sighed "I don't know what I expected…"

"You can't blame Lydia though," Tegan pointed out, following him to the door "I mean, you're not really around a lot…"

"Yeah," he mumbled "That's…" He broke off when his eyes fell on the sleeping boy on top of a row of chairs. He snapped his fingers, catching the attention of a nurse "He's been here all night?"

Melissa looked at Stiles and grinned "He's been here all weekend. I think between Stiles and Tegan, Lydia hasn't been alone at all."

"I resemble that remark," Tegan grumbled, watching Stiles wake up in amusement. How one person could flail around as much and as often as him, she didn't know. Not that she was particularly graceful either but being a Hybrid helped with that a lot.

Tegan sighed quietly, rubbing a hand over her face. She still hadn't called Klaus back… Only texted him a couple of times but she hadn't wanted to leave Lydia and there was no way she would make that call anywhere near her cousin. She was just glad that Lydia didn't really seem to know what – or who – attacked her.

Her head snapped up when a loud scream reached her ears "Lydia," she gasped at the same time as Stiles perked up.

"Lydia?"

Tegan closed her eyes when she saw the empty bathroom, her head snapping to the open window. She walked over as Melissa and her Uncle realised the scene in the room "What the hell was that?" Melissa asked, looking around the empty bathroom.

"Can you hear her?" Stiles whispered, grabbing Tegan's arm.

She nodded, blinking her eyes a couple of times to push down her wolf. Normally, she would use the full moons to run around the woods in her wolf form. No matter how much it hurt to transform, she actually preferred not holding off on it. It was freeing "I – She's… What the hell is happening to her?"

"Do you think she is transforming?" Stiles asked.

"I have no idea," Tegan shrugged "I don't know this type of wolf."

Stiles raised an eyebrow "I thought you were…?"

"I'm different," Tegan said quietly, glancing at the adults on the other side of the room "I told you that before. I just can't… Stiles, the fewer people know, the better for me."

"Okay," Stiles grumbled "As much as I dislike it, I understand."

Scott held up the gown that Stiles handed him "This is the one she was just wearing?" When Stiles nodded silently, he smiled "I'm not going to let anyone hurt her. Not again."

"Alright," Stiles sighed "Just shove the thing in your face and let's find her."

Tegan appeared on the driver's side door "You're going to look for her?"

"Yeah," Stiles nodded "You too?"

"She's my cousin. I'm…" She trailed off, tilting her head to the side.

Stiles perked up "What? What do you hear?"

"What do you mean, Stiles?" Scott asked, looking from Tegan to his best friend and back "Is she…?"

"A werewolf?" Tegan finished for him "Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. But that's not it." She gestured over her shoulder to where Allison was running up.

"What are you doing here?" Scott asked "Someone's going to see us."

Allison shook her head "I don't care. She's my best friend and we need to find her before they do."

"I can find her before the cops do," Scott assured her.

Tegan narrowed her eyes "That's not what you meant, is it?"

"No… My father and three other guys just left," Allison explained.

"Search party," Scott breathed.

Allison snorted "It's more like a hunting party."

Scott opened the door for Allison "Get in."

"I'm going to run. I can cover more ground like that," Tegan told them.

"Be careful," Stiles called out.

Tegan smirked "I should be telling you that. Not the other way around." With those words she ran off, leaving the others blinking after her.

Tegan followed Lydia's trail as best as she could, occasionally stumbling over a tree root. With how fast she was now, of course, she didn't get any more graceful "A graveyard?" she mumbled, looking around with a raised eyebrow "Really, Dia? Could you be any more cliché?"

"Who are you?" a boy asked, staring at her with wide eyes.

Tegan startled before tilting her head. There was something about him… "I'm looking for my cousin," she told him honestly "You haven't seen her, have you?"

The boy shifted on his feet, his heart speeding up "I've been here alone. Sorry."

"You're lying," Tegan stated, narrowing her eyes "Who was here?"

"That'd be me," another voice called out, stepping from the treeline.

Tegan blinked at Derek before her gaze turned to the boy and back to the Alpha "Oh," she hummed in realization "Right… I don't care." When they looked at her with raised brows, she shrugged "I'm just looking for Lydia. It's none of my business what you do and don't do with your newfound Alphaness."

"What's your name?" Derek asked. He wanted to know why his uncle had been so interested in her. He could smell that she was different but he couldn't really tell what the girl was. It was faint if anything.

"Tegan. You're Derek, right? Scott has been complaining about you a lot."

Derek snorted "Scott is an idiot."

"Oh, he is," Tegan shrugged "I don't understand how he can be as close to the little Argent as he is even if she is an alright person… Just very easily manipulated by her family."

"You know a lot for someone who has only been in town for a couple of weeks," Derek pointed out suspiciously.

Tegan held up her hands with a smirk "I'm resourceful like that." Her head snapped to the side as her eyes narrowed "Nice talking to you but I have to go."

"Tegan," Derek called after her, holding out his hand "Give me your phone."

"What?"

"My uncle was interested in you," Derek told her "I am going to find out whether you tell me or not. Let's make this easier on both of us."

Tegan rolled her eyes and handed her phone over. If she was being honest, she was intrigued. Klaus found flip if he found out that she was this close to another Alpha but maybe – just maybe she could risk it and come out of the other side of it happier. From what Stiles had told her, Derek was a born wolf, so maybe she could learn how to… how to just be with him. She didn't know the guy too well but she knew that he had a hard life.

"She ate the liver?" Scott asked, his face scrunched up in disgust.

Stiles shot him an annoyed look "No, I didn't say she ate it. I just said it was missing. And you know what? Even if she did, so what? It's the most nutritious part of the body."

"Alright, Hannibal," Tegan shook her head, looking around uncomfortably. She had been trying to avoid the school apart from the formal "What makes you so sure that it was Dia who did it? I mean, there's bound to be other… creatures in Beacon Hills."

"Because this is our best lead," Stiles pointed out "I didn't see you find her."

Tegan crossed her arms and huffed "Point."

Stiles shot her a smug look before he turned to Scott "Hold on. I think… You're the test case for this, so we should be going over what happened to you."

Scott frowned "What do you mean?"

"I mean… Like what was going through your mind when you were turning, you know?" Stiles gestured "What were you drawn to?"

"Allison."

Stiles blinked "Okay, nothing else? Seriously?"

Tegan shook her head "Are the two of you serious? Stiles, I told you that whatever Lydia is turning into, I don't think it's a werewolf. She didn't smell like Scott or Peter or even Derek. There was a note of something but I don't really know what it was."

"We don't have any other leads," Scott pointed out, dismissing the girl. He wasn't even sure why Stiles had wanted her around. Maybe he was developing a crush on her or something but to him, she was a hindrance. The more people found out, the more danger he was in – the more danger Allison was in.

Natalie was flitting around the kitchen, making Tegan blink at her. The Hybrid peaked into the large pot on the stove "What are you making?"

"Your cousin's favourite," Natalie told her "I just got a call from Sheriff Stilinski. They found her."

Tegan's eyes widened "Where?"

"She was in the preserve," Natalie pointed out, worry swinging in her tone "She's been in the preserve since she left the hospital."

"But she's alright?" Tegan asked.

Natalie shrugged "According to the Sheriff she was just cold. I'm picking her up in a bit, so would you mind finishing this? You remember how to cook it, right?"

Tegan hesitated, trying to think of the recipe in question "I think so… Yeah."

"Fantastic," Natalie sighed in relief and pressed a kiss to her niece's hair "Be good while I pick up Lydia. I'll see you in a bit."

"I will," Tegan nodded, watching her aunt practically run out of the house with a bag of clothes in her hand "What happened to you, Dia?"

She looked at the pot and the already prepared ingredients on the counter with a sigh. Now, how did that recipe go again? She was sure that she could still remember but it was a little fuzzy.

Half an hour later, Tegan was staring at the pot and the bubbling insides with a small grin. She flinched when her phone started ringing, shrilly cutting through the silence of the otherwise quiet house "Hello?"

"Well, hello, little wolf," Klaus greeted, making Tegan grimace. She hated the fact that he checked in on her as often as he did. Probably to see whether she was helping her brother with his crazy schemes even if she would never do that "How is your life away from Mystic Falls treating you?"

Tegan let out a muffled groan, stirring the stew "I think I found a town that is even more fucked up," she muttered more to herself than to Klaus.

"Oh?"

"Hm. Werewolves, hunters and demented trees apparently," Tegan told him. She had stumbled across a tree stump while she was searching the preserve and something was definitely wrong with that thing. It felt like it had pulled her in, shown her something but she couldn't quite remember what it was.

"There are werewolves there?" Klaus asked, his interested piqued.

Tegan shook her head "They're not like me… I don't really know. Haven't interacted with any of them much."

"Do keep me informed on that from," Klaus told her "I'm rather interested in more werewolves."

"Why?" Tegan couldn't help but ask "It's not like Elena will be able to give you any more of her blood." She had heard about the Doppelgänger being turned into a vampire with a grim sort of satisfaction. After all, the girl was one of the most troublesome people she had met and despite her little act, she was as selfish as they came. Elena had always rubbed Tegan the wrong way. Even before the whole supernatural crap started.

Klaus narrowed his eyes "Do take care of how you speak with me, little wolf. I could easily revoke that privilege you have and bring you to me, do you understand?"

Tegan gritted his teeth and looked outside to see her aunt's car to reappear "Sorry."

"I should hope so," Klaus nodded "I'll talk to you again soon. And find me something on those wolves."

"Yes, sir," Tegan mumbled as the dial tone sounded. She let out a tired sigh and ran her hand through her hair. How was it always her who got into situations like these? What had she done to be dragged into all this shit?

Hey guys. This is going to be part of my Christmas present to you guys. I did my best to write for as many Fics as possible for Christmas but the rest didn't work yet.
