Countdown of 12 Days of Christmas

Day 4- Little Sisters and Pretty Girls 12/17/2020

Warning: Language

"Please, Percy. Please!

"No."

She pulled onto his shirt and tugged. "Pretty, please!"

Her bright green eyes stared into his, begging, and he gave in.

"Fine."

She jumped up and down in cheer, and Percy cracked a smile. "Yay! Let's go!"

Estelle pulled on his hand, dragged him to the car, while she went to sit in the back seats, arms crossed like she had been waiting for 10 minutes.

Percy got in the car, started it up, and pulled out of the driveway. He had recently got a car for his birthday, so when he drove it, it always felt exciting. Though he's heard from elders that it eventually gets old driving. He couldn't even think about that now.

15 minutes later, they're at the mall filled with people, and Estelle is yet again dragging him away.

"Oh, look at that! Wow! That looks delicious! Is that a mushroom dinosaur?"

"No, Estelle. It's not. Where did you-you know what? Nevermind. Come on, we didn't come here to look at all this stuff."

Estelle then pointed towards a white circle, and Percy silently cheered in his head. Thank god.

"There it is!"

They ran until they got there, Percy slowed down for Estelle(It was actually the opposite), and they reached the rink.

"Let's go get our shoes!"

They both headed towards the skates stand, and got their shoes. The person there was some grumpy old teen who looked like he was bored out of his mind, and you know Estelle, she liked happiness and sunshines. So when Estelle got her shoes, she flipped him off, and Percy and the teen burst out laughing along with a few others who had a sense of humor, before Percy went to scold her.

"You don't do that to random strangers. Wait-you don't do that at all!"

"I just saw Thalia doing it a lot-"

Damn Thalia.

"To you whenever you were annoying, so I did it to him."

"That's not the point-you know what, let's just forget about it. You go skating, I'll catch up with you. These dam-"

Estelle had given him a pointed look.

"-dang shoes are... hard."

She turned around, and left to go to the rink.

Percy was struggling, so he sat down on a bench, and laid his legs out, before starting on his right leg.

Even with the bench support, within minutes, his knots were all tangled up.

"These-dang it! Why are skates so hard?"

He laid back down on the bench, and splayed across like a starfish. He gave up.

Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw Estelle gripping onto the edge of the rink, slowly moving along. And Percy couldn't even put on his skates.

"You need some help there?"

Thank god.

He turned around to find a beautiful girl, around his age he guessed, looking at him with a raised eyebrow. She had a long coat, almost professionally, and her blonde hair was put into a ponytail.

"Um-hello?"

Percy struck out of his daze, realizing he was staring much too long at her.

"Um, yeah, sorry." He turned sheepish. "I would appreciate the help."

She smiled at him before going in front of him, and getting on her knee. She started on some intricate tie, which Percy gave up on a few seconds in.

Her hair smelled good, Percy noticed. Like lemon.

A few awkward silent moments later, she stood up, and looked up at him expectantly.

"Um-Thank you."

"You're welcome."

But she stood there, waiting, and Percy felt the urge to figure out why she was still there.

"So, you're here with…"

"My brothers."

"What are their names?"

She became defensive. "Why do you want to know their name?"

"Just curious. What, it's not like I'm a serial killer?"

The girl looked skeptical, and Percy burst out laughing.

"I'm not a serial killer. Just a guy named Percy who still lives with his mom."

Maybe too much information.

"Percy, huh? And who did you come with."

"Well,..."

"Smooth."

"Just tell me your name."

"Annabeth."

"Well, Annabeth, I came here with my little sister Estelle."

"Which one is she?"

He looked into the rink, immediately noticed her, and pointed at her.

"The girl kicking the boy's shins?"

"Yep, that's her. Usually I'd tell her off, but it looks like he deserved it."

Annabeth let out a laugh, sounding too close to an angel, and Percy's heart filled with content.

"Boy's are dicks."

"Hey!"

She looked deep into his eyes. "But not all of them, I guess."

He was falling.

She looked away in the distance, and Percy looked down.

"So Percy, tell me a little about you."

"I'd love to, but I don't have the time. Estelle has a...ballet class. Maybe a different day. At a different time. Perhaps at a coffee shop. And maybe after you give me your number."

"Estelle doesn't have a class, does she?"

Percy beamed. "Nope!"

"Yeah, she doesn't look like the most graceful person."

Estelle was kicking up a lot of other boys today.

"So what do you say?"

"I'll say...hmm..fine."

"Great. Now I've gotta go. Estelle's a girl with needs. Phone number?"

She typed up her phone number on his phone, and Percy grinned.

"See you later, Percy."

"Bye, Annabeth."

He turned towards the rink where Estelle was directing him to come, but Percy looked back to see Annabeth talking to her brothers.

He thinks he's met his match. No- He knows he's met his match.

A/N: I actually like this one. I think the end was quite odd, but the overall story was great.

I don't like putting curse words, but in this case, I felt like, I needed to show Annabeth's feminism. I don't use swear words without any point.

One thing I should've done a long time ago: So I have a community with the greatest PJO fanfics(without me, obviously, I know I'm not that good :), and I would love for you to check it out, and perhaps give me some recommendations. I'm currently looking for more of "adventure au's" or "canons" because I have a bunch of mortal au's already, but if you have any mortal au's, I'll gladly take them. Warning, I have to check out a few chapters first to make sure the writing is good.

random question: favorite holiday? why?

(if you're wondering, I occasionally switch from uppercase to lower case depending on how I feel)
