Chapter 2

Kuma-san and Majo-chan goes to the capital

Yesterday I saved a young girl named Sayuri while taking a walk in the forest. Turns out she was also a player sent into this world by God. I decided to bring her home with me and on the way, I explained to her some basic things about this world like the culture and such. Not that I know a lot myself anyway.

Right now, that person is sitting on the sofa looking intently at something invisible in front of her.

"So, have you figured out something yet?"

"Oh, yeah. It looks like my robe increases my defensive stats based on level."

Sayuri said as she pats her black robe that was neatly folded on the table.

"The witch hat is an item storage which is connected to another dimension where time doesn't flow. It doesn't have a storage limit but I can't hide any living beings inside it."

So, it's similar to mine. But I have to admit, pulling something out of a hat is kind a cool. It gives you that magician vibe. The only difference is Sayuri's hat is a witch's hat and not the same one used by magician back on Earth so I don't really know how to feel about that.

"Also, I can make the hat disappear by folding it."

Make the hat disappear by folding it? What does that mean?

"I think you do it like this."

Sayuri took off her hat and folded it. For some reason, the hat became really flexible and she was able to fold it into a ball which then disappeared.

"Woah!"

That is freaking cool. Meanwhile my item bag is a white bear puppet that I have to wear in order to use it.

"By the way, does your hat have additional function?"

I have to ask. My white bear puppet also has defensive capability in addition to being a limitless item bag.

"Sadly, that is about it. It's just an item storage that I can hide whenever I want. It doesn't have any additional function."

So, her hat is somehow inferior to my white bear puppet. But it's still really cool.

"Lastly is the wand. It lets me use any kind of magic just by imagining it. It also increases my Magic stats based on level. It also says that the bonus that the wand gives are only in effect while I am holding it."

So far, it's the same as mine. Her set increases her defense and magic attack. But since she didn't say anything about physical based stats then maybe I can take it as her set only amplifies her magic based stats.

In makes sense that her equipment only covers amplifying her magic and not her physical strength since "Witch" is a job that specializes in intermediate magic. In World Fantasy Online, the job "Witch" is kind of a cross between a mage and a healer. Players who has Witch as their main job has access to both combat and support type skills. Mages only has access to combat type skills while Healers only has limited combat capability and mostly support oriented.

Due to their versatility, witches are the most annoying type of player to deal with since they can use their support skill on themselves and they normally try to keep their distance from the enemy which is something that is hard to deal with for Magic swordsman class player like me. On the bright side, they are really weak when it comes to close quarter combat.

I wonder if it's the same as me?

"By the way Yuna-san, is your bear outfit also something that you got from a bonus chest before you were sent here?"

"Yeah. This was the set that I got from the random chest that I got before I was sent here."

I then proceeded to explain to her what my bear set can do while leaving some crucial information hidden such as the regeneration effect of the white bear suit as well as the bear magic which massively increases my attack power by combining the image of a bear with my attack. Those are my trump card so sharing information about it is out of the question.

"So, what are you planning to do now? Do you intend to enjoy this world or are you planning on finding a way to go back to our former world?"

Well, it's better to know her plan first and I will base my action on that. If she wants to go on an adventure and enjoy this world then I will give her a bit of money to help her start her new life. But if she wants to find a way to go back to our former world then I will also help her do so. It might be interesting to see if there is a way to go back to Earth, not that I'm planning on going back to that crappy world.

"I already made a decision about that earlier after seeing my reflection on the mirror. I don't know if all of this is just a dream or if it's real but no matter which one it is, I want to stay here. If this is a dream then I don't want to wake up anymore. And if it's reality then I wish to stay here."

Out of thin air, Sayuri's hat materialized above her head and it gently fell onto her head. She then held the hat downward to hide her face. I was confused at first but then, drop of tears started falling to her skirt and she started sobbing.

I get it now. She probably went through a really hard life to make her not want to go back to that world again. She did say something earlier about having a frail body but since it's personal matter, I don't intend to pry deeper so I decided against asking about her previous life. I decided that I will support her as much as I can.

I sat beside Sayuri and gave her a comforting hug. That was when she finally broke down and started crying hard while returning the hug. She must have really gone through a lot of hardship despite her young age.

We stayed like that for a few moments until a large bird landed in front my window. I want to catch this bird and roast it for ruining the moment but when I took a good look at it that I recognized it as Sanya's summon beast Forg.

I let go of Sayuri and went over the window to open it and let Forg in. There was a piece of paper tied onto its leg.

"Is that bird your pet?"

Sayuri asked while wiping her eyes using the handkerchief that I lent her.

"No, this is a summon beast of an acquaintance."

I answered as I removed the paper from Forg's let.

"Thankyou."

After that, Forg went out of the window and flew away. So, it only came here to deliver a letter from Sanya.

I then opened the letter to read its content. Sayuri just stayed on the sofa while looking at me as I read the letter. It looks like she is curious about the content of the letter but she is just waiting their patiently. Maybe she intends to ask me about the letter after reading it.

[Yuna-chan, a strange shop opened up in the capital. Do you know anything about it?]

Why does Sanya-san assume that I am involved with it? The only strange looking building I ever built on the capital was my bear house.

[There's a giant bear statue in the front and the sign says: Bear-san's relaxing shop.]

With that I was finally able to connect the dots and arrived to the conclusion that this is Eleanora-san's doing. The store is probably the newly opened branch of my shop in the capital build simply because they wanted to eat and share pudding.

[I was curious about it so I sent Forg to deliver this letter to you. If it has nothing to do with you then you can ignore this message.]

I didn't waste any time and just set the paper down the table before running towards the Bear transfer gate to go to the capital.

"Wait. Yuna-san wait a moment. What was the letter about?"

Sayuri called while running after me. By the time she caught up to me, I was already inside the room where the bear transfer gate was. Oh yeah, I totally forgot about her because of the content of the letter.

"I have no time to explain. Do you want to stay here or come with me?"

"Well it's obvious that I will come with you. You aren't thinking of leaving me here, alone are you?"

Sayuri said as she puts on her robe. She really looks like a witch with that equipment set. But still, isn't her hat a little big for her. The brim of her witch hat is really wide, more than enough for her to use her hat as an umbrella when it's raining.

"Then, what you are about to see is my secret. I expect you to keep it to yourself."

I have to make her promise to not tell anyone about the bear transfer gate before showing it to her.

"A secret between Yuna-san and me."

For a brief moment I saw a strange grin spread through Sayuri's face before she pulled the brim of her hat down to hide her face.

"You can count on me!"

Sayuri declared while holding a thumbs up in front of me.

Now I'm worried. I can sense it from her but I have to ask just in case.

"What do you usually do to pass time when you are alone?"

"What's with that kind of question all of the sudden."

Sayuri asked while tilting her head while having a confused look on her face.

"Just answer it."

"Well, as I told you earlier, I have a frail body so I mostly spend my time alone in my room reading manga and playing games."

"Coincidently, what is the genre of manga you are reading?"

Sayuri once again pulled down the brim of her hat to hide her face.

"Yuri."

Yup. This girl is really bad news. I just hope that this is just the effect of reading yuri manga. I really wish she doesn't swing that way.

"We will talk about that later. But for now, there is a more urgent matter at hand. So we will be going to the royal capital using this door."

"Oh, so this door is like the pink door on that certain anime which leads you to different places."

She is quick to catch up. Probably because the concept of this kind of door is now unknown to us who spend almost all our time watching anime or playing games.

"That's basically it."

"So, we are going to the see Yuna-san's acquaintance?"

"Yup."

I answered as I opened the bear transfer door which is now connected to the one on my bear house in the capital.

"So, what would be my setting?"

"What?"

I turned around and gave Sayuri a confused look.

"I mean I just literally came out of nowhere and Yuna-san's acquaintance might find it weird if you just showed up with a 13-year old girl in tow."

So that's what she means. She is rather considerate. Now that she mentioned it, we do need to think of a setting that we will use to introduce her. It's better if we are on the same page.

"You are my cousin that came here to live with me. Does that sound good to you."

Sayuri just stood there staring at me as if she is having a hard time processing the situation. When I was about to pat her to bring her back to reality, she suddenly took several steps towards me and now our faces were mere inches away from each other.

"Then, then. Can I call Yuna-san [Onee-sama]?"

Sayuri asked me with her eyes sparkling as if she is really expecting me to agree. Now that I think about it, Onee-sama is usually what characters in Yuri manga call their upperclassman or someone older than them, and this girl said earlier that she spent a lot of time reading yuri manga.

I wanted to refuse but looking at her, I can't find the courage to refuse. Why am I weak against those who are younger than me?

I gave up on the idea of refusing and just sighed.

"Fine, but I don't want you clinging too much to me."

I can already see where this is going to I will give her a condition now before it escalates to that.

"Yes! Onee-sama!"

Sayuri answer in an energetic voice. This girl is really filled with energy. I can't understand her character.

"Well than, let's go."

"Yes!"

And with that, the two of us went to the capital via the bear transfer gate. I just hope that she won't cause too much trouble for me.
