Hi everyone! This is the secret Santa for Sohana Sarkar and anime-junkie23. I haven't written anything for a long time so I guess I have gone down a little in writing skills. And I couldn't write anything because I had tests till 23rd December.
And wishing you all a merry Christmas!
I am happy to write something after a long time. I just got away from the fandom for a while.
Two gifts?
"Hey mamma, when will papa come? He promised that he'll join us for Christmas!"
A dual-haired toddler reached his mother's skirt and pulled it gently for attention. She was busy dishwashing so she paid a vague attention to him.
"Tell me Gou, what it is?"
Gou sighed and yelled, "You are a deaf mom? You'd want me to repeat it? When will papa come home? It has been weeks since he left Japan. What is he doing in Russia for two weeks?"
Olive gave a halt to her work and deviated downwards to look at her son. He has been galloping like a kangaroo for the last two days after hearing his father's near arrival. Now, he is fumed up with his mother for not updating him with Kai's arrival.
"Dad is coming home with Uncle Tala, Aunt Julia and their daughter Lada. They are planning to spend their vacation in Japan."
"What?! That Lada is coming here? No way! She'll beat into pulp!"
"Don't tell something like that Gou. Lada is really sweet, just a little short-tempered. That's it. Too have other nice companions along with Makoto and Rin."
"Well fine, don't change the topic. Tell me when dad would come. I want him right now."
'Eegh, this kid is so adamant,' Olive thought. She kneeled down to come down to his height and pinched his cheek. "Now listen Gou. Papa said that he would come tonight. It's Christmas tomorrow, so shouldn't you get ready for that?"
Gou thought for a while and then realized, "Yes! I should finish with the greeting card first! I have been doing that for Papa! I'll finish that, get my new clothes ready and clean my room!"
"Yes, do that job. Papa would be here before you do all these. So, this will surely break your boredom. Go and get these things done before Papa comes, okay?"
"All right!"
Gou squealed and ran to his room. Unlike his other age-mates, he is much sincere and considerate in what he has to do as a five-year old toddler and wouldn't make a fuss about toiling for some time. He arranged all his things properly in the appointed racks in the cupboards after getting done with his holiday homework, got his clothes ready and finally continued with the card. It was almost seven-thirty in the evening when he finished.
Gou laid himself exhausted on the bed, stretching his hands as his gazes were glued to the ceiling. "I wish Papa could come so that he could teach me blading. I just can't wait for that day. Huh?"
The dual-haired retreated from the bed and turned to his right. He gulped as his eyes turned suspicious. He carefully waited as eerie silence invaded.
'I am scared… Someone is watching me… Should I really check that out? What is that thing eats me?'
"Gou! Go and wake up Zella! She has been sleeping for a long time!"
"Okay mom!"
Gou left the room immediately and went to his mother's room, woke up the black-haired toddler.
"Zella, wake up. Don't snore because it's not your business after all. Get up lazy bug Zella. Ouch!"
Gou turned back to his mother with her fist shuddering. "I am sorry mom…"
"Don't call her like that Gou, just remember that you were worse than her when you were a freaky little baby. Now just go upstairs, I'll wake her up all by myself."
Gou pouted. He knew that it's tough to tame his mother's anger so he gave up and grumpily walked upstairs and remembered something.
'That black thing…I am scared…'
Tock…Tock…
Gou flinched as he faced the doorstep. Olive noticed him after she came out immediately.
"What happened Gou? Feeling cold?"
"Mom, I am scared…"
Olive chuckled and approached him, rubbing his forehead in an abrupt manner. "Someone's waiting outside there. Why were you scared? Are you scared because you were all alone this day?"
"Nope, I am brave."
Olive opened the door and much to her surprise, her exhausted husband was standing there out with his baggage. Behind him, a tall red-head Russian and a dual-haired Spaniard were standing. Tala was holding his daughter in his arms.
"Hi honey, and welcome Mr. and Mrs. Valkov. It's been time since we met," Olive greeted and escorted them inside. Gou immediately clinged himself to Kai's leg and exclaimed in amusement, "Daddy! You are back home! Come, let's blade!"
"No Gou, papa is so tired today. I can't play with involvement when I am exhausted. Go take Zella with you and play."
"You really are damn annoying papa," Gou cocked an eyebrow and punched Kai's shoulders.
"I am not limp to these Gou. Leave Papa, I'll take you out tomorrow for Christmas, okay? You'll feel disinterested if I play with you. I am so tired Gou."
"So you are asking me to play with Lada or Zella today?"
"Yes."
Kai walked upstairs. Gou glanced at Lada with a vague disinterest. 'Oh man, I'll have to play with a girl. Why on this earth should I play with girls?'
"Hey Gou, how you're doing?" Tala asked as Gou as he made him sit on his lap.
"Fine Uncle Tala. Can you tell me why Papa doesn't want to play with me?"
Tala chortled and replied, "He is tired and he did quite a lot of work when he was in Russia. So he needs rest. Papa will spend tomorrow with you, okay?"
"Fine, uncle Tala."
"Hey you slacker-clown, what about playing with me?"
"Lada?" Gou turned back.
"Mind your language Lada," Julia warned as she prepared her fists. The five-year old scarlet flinched and hid behind Tala.
"It's okay Ms. Julia, Gou doesn't mind that," Olive said as she came with some snacks neatly kept on a black tray. After the evening break, Gou and Lada were blading in the lawn and meanwhile the parents were chattering and when it was around eight, Tala and Julia left with Lada.
After dinner:
"I hope I would get some time with daddy now."
Gou sprinted to Kai's room and hurriedly knocked the door. Kai opened it and smiled gleefully and got him in.
"How was your day Gou? Went on well?"
"It was boring without you papa. You are so bad!"
"Sorry Gou, we'll play tomorrow. It's Christmas tomorrow, right?"
"Yep."
Gou grinned and twirled Kai's neck.
"So Papa, this Christmas would be fun, right?"
"Yes, of course."
"And papa, will I get a gift from Santa?" Gou asked out of eagerness. Kai smiled and answered, "Yes, but he is just a fictional character. In this world, there is no such character who exists."
"Papa! You're lying!"
"This is the truth. There is no one called Santa Claus who exists."
"But the books which I've read?"
"They are not based on real life. You are still a kid Gou. You'll understand when you grow up."
"Hmm…" Gou hung his head down in utter sadness. Shortly, Olive entered the room and said, "Dad is just kidding Gou."
"Olive?" Kai turned back.
"There is a person called Santa Claus existing in this world. He comes on the night of Christmas and offers gifts to children."
"Hah! Really?"
"Of course Gou. Oh, it's high time that you'll have to go to bed."
"Okie, good night mom! Good night dad!"
Gou jumped down from the bed and ran upstairs. Olive turned to Kai and said, "Honey, why did you make him so glum? He is still a kid."
"Hmm, you're right but I just feel concerned for him. I don't want him to be broken when learns that this is not true in future."
Olive bursted out laughing and remarked, "You are really kidding me Kai! He'll learn this in future! Don't worry, he wouldn't take this silly thing serious when he would be older. He wouldn't care a cent about it."
"Hmm… You're right. Well…"
"Mom! Dad!" Gou immediately opened the door. He seemed to be frightened.
"Mom! Dad! It's so creepy upstairs! I saw some black figure upstairs! Please, I want to sleep with you both! I feel so scared!" Gou cried on Olive's laps.
"It's nothing Gou. You are probably feeling alone. That's why. You haven't seen your friends ever since your vacation, so this would've sent creeps to you."
"Mom, dad please! I'll sleep with you both!"
Kai and Olive looked at each other for once. Kai nodded his head in agreement.
"Well Gou, you can sleep here with us today. You needn't be scared. It's just your imagination."
"Really dad?"
"Yes, but you can sleep with me here today."
"Yayy!"
In another ten minutes, Gou was fast asleep. Kai smiled and pulled out a box wrapped neatly with a blue glossy cover and kept it beside him. Then he took another box wrapped in pink and kept it beside him.
Next morning:
Kai woke up from his deep slumber and yawned.
"Looks like Olive has woken up as usual. Huh?"
Kai turned to Gou and saw two gifts beside him. One with blue wrapper and the other with black wrapper, tied with a red satin. He frowned for a while.
"Good morning honey, Merry Christmas." Olive greeted and kissed Kai on his cheek.
"What's wrong honey?"
"Olive, did you keep that gift?" Kai asked out of perplexity. Olive swayed her to and fro.
"Then who kept this here?"
"I'll go and check beside Zella."
Olive left the room immediately and gasped. "Kai! She has another one too!"
"Say what?" Kai asked and left the room too and went to Olive's. Just beside the cradle, there was a box wrapped by white glossy cover, but with red satin. Kai gasped.
"Last night, Gou was telling that he saw something creepy," Kai said. Oliver gulped and replied, "Yes, so does this have something to do with the eerie creature? I thought that it was all Gou's imagination that kept haunting him."
"Hmm… Then what Gou saw was true. I don't believe this but it seems so… Then who else could have done this, Santa Claus?"
"He never exists. I am not sure…"
Dear Sohana and Vri, I hope you both liked this yet I am not a very good author after all. Please RR, pardon any errors and take care!
