Sirens Sin

Chapter

2:Fable

After learning a couple days back that Draco Malfoy had a curse in his blood, he was not wanting to get out of bed. He sent an owl to his mum, hoping she would know something. And he hadn't heard back from her. Mean while Hermione was working with Ginny and three pure- bloods from Slytherin trying to pull out as much information as she could from them, about Sirens Sin.

Gathering in Library where Hermione took notes on things she has learned. "Here is what my mum told me about Sirens Sin, I don't know if this will help." Pansy said handing over the letter from her mother. Hermione took it and started to read it.

"Okay, from what I have read is basically all the same, even from your mum, Gin. Sirens Sin , a curse known from the time of Merlin. It eats away at you, slowly tortures you. Sirens: lure men to their death by their musical voice's. Makes me wonder what exactly that has to do with the name of the curse. The curse shows up in the blood as a tent of silver. And from your mum says, Pansy, it causes your magic to act up. IS this really all you guys have?" Asked Hermione in a state of disbelief.

The Slytherins nodded their heads and Ginny pouted, replying, "I'm sorry, 'Mione, but my mum said she heard about this Sirens Sin as a child and that was by accident. She is looking into it."

Pansy let out a sigh and spoke, "How the hell are we suppose to figure out the cure if we can't figure out the curse, my brain hurts."

Theo made a remake about Pansy's brain, earning him a slap in the arm. "Ow!"

"Enough Children."

They looked up and there stood Draco, as he sat beside Hermione. "What do you want?"

Draco didn't answer her he just handed her a letter, nodding at her to take it. Hermione's eye's scanned it, "I am not surprised that this lot has nothing, I actually think some parents are keeping quiet till they know more about it. My mother on the other hand wrote down what she could remember and is looking in her vaults for the books and scrolls of what she has."

Hermione's eyes went wide "Oh my." She gasped gaining the other's full attention. "It's a dark fable. Originally the person who wrote about it wanted to put a curse on families to teach them a lesson or punishment because a member in that family murdered a girl, and not just any girl, a siren. You get massive brain killing headaches that leave you blind and deaf for a couple hours. Cough up blood, not a little, but a lot. Stomach pains that make you feel like you are being stabbed repeatability that can last for days on end. You don't sleep that much only three hours, which are plagued with nightmares of watching the ones you love die in the most horrible ways, your brain and can up with there are said to be more, but she didn't list them. There is a cure, from a curse so dark the cure must be nothing but pure light. Something to do with a sacrifice." Hermione explained. She looked at Draco asked, "Does your mum have more on this?"

He nodded and replied, "But if you want your prefect little eyes to see it, you'll have to come with me on Christmas break."

Hermione nodded with determination in her eyes. Hearing a few people clear their throats, Hermione turned her head back at the group. "Erm-Yeah I know we four are not as smart as you two, but that doesn't mean you can give moon eyes to each other, right now we are trying to save our arse's here." Blaise replied.

Hermione blushed a little and replied, "There were no moon eyes."

Pansy let out a scoff and spoke, "Sure, you tell your self that, so during break you two" She motioned to Draco and Hermione, "Don't kill each other, we need both of your brains, as for us four we will look into out vaults and back-grounds to see what we can find. No relaxing Christmas this year." Pansy finished.

A couple days later, One more day till break. Hermione received another parcel. She opened it containing another letter that read: The look on your face was humorous, I should of warned you these books contain major cliff hangers. There are three more books. I know you will be busy, but I also know the every one even you, need a time to relax. Happy Christmas, don't kill anyone.

Luna leaned over looking at the second book and spoke in her dreamy voice, " Those are good books. Very hard to find. How did you stumble upon them?"

"Someone sent them to me, no name, or crest. I don't have a clue who sent it." She answered opening the book. Luna spoke again,

"Oh my, it is true."

Hermione looked at Luna and asked, "Whats true?"

The dreamy girl replied, "The first five books that were created were written a gold. The rest are in black ink. They're charmed against weather and fire and hard to destroy. Who ever sent you those must think highly of you."

Later that day Hermione sent Harry and owl telling him she wouldn't be able to spend Christmas with him, some thing of dire importance came up. She then packed her trunk. She was not looking forward to having to spend her Christmas with Draco, how ever she wanted to help Ginny and the others, so she would put up with him. At least Ginny was right about him he is gorgeous, so his looks wouldn't tire on break, just his mouth. Which strangely enough was pissing her off and less and less.

Draco had sent an owl to his mother telling her he had invited Hermione, but to not get her hopes up, she is only there to look into Sirens Sin. His mother wrote him back telling him Andromeda's address. After that he packed his trunk. Thinking this could go down so many ways. He wasn't looking forward to seeing Harry, how ever he would take his mother advice and play nice.

Time skip:

Draco greeted his mum, giving her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Hermiones eyes left Draco and mum and looked around where she spotted Harry with Teddy. "Harry?"

Harry looked up and replied, "Hermione? Why are you with Malfoy?"

Hermione shook her head and walked up to Harry and replied, "Not what you think, I promise. There is a curse called Sirens Sin, effecting Pure-bloods, Ginny has it. I'm here to help. That's all."

Harry's eyes softened he chuckle then spoke, "Yeah I know, Hermione. This place has chaotic the last couple of days Andy and Mrs. Malfoy have been all over the place about it. I would of told you I was here, but I thought it would be funny to see the look on your face."

Hermione smacked his arm "Ow!"

"Serves you right."

Andromeda showed Hermione where she should be staying, it was down the hall from Draco's. There was a queen size bed, a dresser beside the window a good sized closet and a round night stand beside the bed, with a lamp on top. The sheets were a soft blue with white. There was a small book shelf in the corner of the room, filled with books, and scrolls. Hermione sat her trunk down and looked at the books. Magical and muggle. She then changed out of her uniform and into comfortable grey shorts and a green shirt, with white socks. She walked out of the room and into the sitting room, where Harry and Draco sat, glaring at each other. Andromeda and Narcissa were else where in the house. Hermione made her way over to Harry on the couch. Teddy was on the floor with his stuff animals.

Harry looked at Hermione and spoke, "I bet he only has you here to save his own hide."

Draco wanted to say something, it wasn't nice so he kept his mouth shut. Hermione how ever did not and spoke up, "I don't really blame him, Harry. I mean I read some of the symptoms, I wouldn't wish them on any one."

Harry nodded and replied, "Yeah, um I heard Andy tell his mum not to send the worst, have him wait till he is here. But when you say that, I imagine the worst of it is world changing. I'm glad you're not a pure-blood." The last part he said quietly winking at Hermione.

It was true, as much as Hermione did not like Draco, she would never wish what Sirens Sin in-tells on him. And she was little surprised he kept his mouth shut to Harry. Hermione then asked, "Harry, you're an auror, have you heard anything about this?"

Harry shook his head and replied, "Afraid not, The minister told me when I asked, that some dark curses should stay hidden for a reason. I know that's not helpful, so I have been here trying to help."

"Why here?"

"Well, if any one knows about dark curses, I knew it would be Malfoy's family."

Hermione looked at Draco catching his silver eyes his right eye brow moved up and then down, as she asked, "Well if that's so, how do Zabini, Nott and Parkinson, not have a clue in hell?"

Draco merely shrugged but he replied, "I suspect their families want a bit more proof, before they dive right into it."

Just then Andromeda walked into the sitting room with the others and picked up Teddy. "You lot may as well get some rest, we have a lot to go over tomorrow." Andromeda then looked at Draco and Harry, "I have fire-whiskey in the ice-box, if you do intend on staying up and worrying yourself it is there. I'm taking Teddy here to bed. Good night."

"Night" The three said in unison, receiving an interesting look from Andromeda, before she walked off.

Hermione turned to Harry and spoke, "Harry, no getting drunk." She then looked at Draco, "You either." Both wizards frowned. Harry stood up.

"Well, I am going to bed. Good night, 'Mione."

"Night."

Then there was just Draco and Hermione in the sitting room. Draco got up and walked off, he soon returned with old books, handing one to Hermione, he then sat beside her on the couch.

Their eyes scanning the books for over an hour they said nothing to each other. Another hour had passed, till Hermione spoke up, "Deadly curses all around, Nothing like Siren's sound. Powerful and great, Now you must sit and wait. Love and Light, can break this deadly plight. Take these words of a Siren's song, Hope you are not dead by dawn." She read "Er-well isn't that pretty." She said sarcastically.

Draco scoffed, "If it's love and light that's the cure then that's too easy. Is there any more?"

She shook her head and spoke, "Uh not that I can see, any things in your book?"

"Only the story, so a pure-blood wizard fell for a Siren who took the form of a witch, after she fell in love with him in- return she showed him who she was really was. The wizard thought he had been fooled, and lied too, killed her. And not pleasant way, no he tortured her, and in the most barbaric of ways. Her people found her, and sought out justice. Not only did they get him back, his family and other pure- bloods. They created the Sirens Sin. Um, oh and the Siren that was killed she was princess." Draco looked up at Hermione who was staring at him. "What's your theory, Granger?" Draco asked.

"H-he killed her because she is different? My Gods what hell have you all been taught?"

Draco looked back down at the book but replied, "Good portion of us, don't like difference. I how ever would never kill someone just because they were something else, may not be happy about it..." He looked back up at her, "But I would never kill the one loved."

Hermione looked away from him and put her eyes on his book, she scooted closer to him and leaned in, brushing up against him. Draco felt his heart accelerate. Hermione then asked, "So if you fell in love with a Muggle-born who you thought was a pure-blood or hell even half and you found out she was neither, you wouldn't kill her?"

"No. You really think the worst of me, don't you?"

Hermione's eyes went over the words in the books and replied, "It doesn't matter what I think, does it?" She turned his page her eyes landing on something curious. "I think you should continue reading."

Draco looked down "It does matter." His eyes caught what hers did. "Oh fuck."
