Sirens Sin

Chapter

3: A little Closer

By morning both were asleep on the couch. Hermione's body was up against Draco's, with her head on his shoulder, and hand on his thigh. Draco's arm was wrapped around her waste. With open books on them. Andromeda and Narcissa walked in on the two, placing a blanket over them as they slept. When Harry walked in, he caught the sight, wanting to wake up Hermione, but Andromeda dragged him in to the kitchen. "Let them sleep, Harry."

"But together?, Hermione is not going to be happy that I didn't wake her up." Harry whined.

Andromeda shrugged and replied, "She's a big girl, she'll be fine. Harry can you get me the eggs and bacon out please?"

Harry nodded and went to the ice-box.

Smelling food in the air, made the two stir. Both waking up and opening their eyes. Hermione removed her hand and head off Draco quickly. She leaned up and stretched. Draco didn't remove his arm, but it didn't matter since she got up any ways, with Draco following Suit.

After breakfast they put their brains to work. Hermione and Draco had told them what they found last night. "And the worst part about that is, they had a child. And being bound by royal blood from it's mother side, what they did to him was wrong." Hermione explained. "I know wizards and witches can horrible, but to their own flesh and blood. Hatred carries even that far?"

Narcissa frowned and nodded, "I'm afraid so, back then it was worse than what is now. We may think sqibs are bad for the family, and some parents do kill them. But I imagine back then to have a child of another species, was very frowned upon. And I agree they should of never done what they did to that child."

"I think I am going to be sick." Said Harry as he rubbed his stomach.

"I'm right there with ya." Replied Draco.

"Why now, why is going into effect now, and why only certain pure-bloods?" Hermione asked while turning the pages of the book she already read. No one had an answer for that.

4pm, Harry stood and stretched and then spoke, "I have things I need to do today, and my brain needs a break. So I will catch up with you lot later." Harry walked out the door and disapparated.

Narcissa and her sister stood as well with Teddy in Andromeda's arms.

"We have more to collect. You two may as well take a break till we get back." With that they were off.

Hermione was still on the floor thinking as Draco was on the couch staring at her. "He loved her then killed her, that happens. But did he really have to butcher his own son, I mean was necessary?" Hermione asked.

Draco let out a sigh before he responded, "I'm pretty sure he did it to make an example out of the merpeople, and to anyone who tried to disgrace pure blood lines."

"Couldn't he just let his son live, in secret?"

Draco shook his head and replied, "And word getting out, I don't think he wanted to risk that. His name would be tarnished and his blood line would no longer be pure."

Hermione sat up and looked at Draco the next words that came out of her mouth floored Draco.

"I'm here to help, and I will do what ever I can. But reading all this and thinking of my own blood I just feel like I don't belong, In the book it tells how pure-bloods are so cruel, and I'm in a house full of them. I feel out of place."

Draco quickly joined her on the floor, getting directly in her face as he spoke, "In the past I would agree with you a hundred percent, but times have changed and so have I, and I do not agree with a single word you have said. Blood has nothing to do with it , it never has. Just peoples stupidity. When you love someone it doesn't matter how pure their blood is, it matters how they make you feel. And you know I still think there is a missing puzzle piece to this story, I mean who can be that heartless, unless they never loved at all."

Hermione felt her cheeks darken as a blush spread across her face she then replied, "You know about what I said to you, about you being tainted?"

He nodded.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't of said that. It's clear I was wrong about you."

He smiled at her, and replied a simple thanks to her. Hermione's eyes widened a little as she spoke, "You smiled, an actual smile. Looks better on you than your other facial expressions."

Draco shook his head with a chuckle, he leaned back back against the couch and spoke in a flirtatious tone, "You, Hermione Granger, stare at me? Do you like what you see?"

"Every known woman who lays eyes on you thinks your attractive, do you really need my input to feed your ego?"

"Humor me, not about my ego, what do you think of me?"

Hermione sighed, rolled her eyes at him and replied, "You are hot, except when your mouth opens."

He frowned at her and adverted his away "Oh."

"Don't make me regret saying this, but my opinion of you is changing. I don't hate you as much."

Later that night after going over mountains of information till they actually got headaches, they retired to their own rooms.

Hermione was sitting on her bed still going over anything she could of skipped. Until her eyes landed on something that made he jump up and apparate into Draco's room. He was sitting up reading a book he soon replied, "Hello, lovely."

"Shut up, Malfoy."

"I.."

"Just shut up." She handed him her book "Read." She then sat down on his bed.

"Yeah, it's another riddle." He said putting the book down as looked at her asking. "Is that your excuse for wanting to see me shirtless, because if you really wanted to you could of just said something."

Hermiones face turned crimson as she replied, "What?!, no!, yes it's a riddle, Sirens Sin is a riddle."

Draco arched his brow and cocked his head to the side as he replied, "Excuse me? I think you need sleep, If you want you can sleep in my bed with me." He said in a cheeky tone.

Hermione grabbed the book from him and explained, "Think about it, Sirens speak in riddles, a lot of curses are known to be riddles, and cures are always in the riddles."

"Yes but Light and Love is to fucking easy."

"Only if you're thinking of regular love and the light of people."

"What the hell am I suppose to think of?"

"Think about it, Malfoy -"

"Draco"

"What ever, just think about it. The whole riddle from what I found the first night "Deadly curses all around, Nothing like Siren's sound. Powerful and great, Now you must sit and wait. Love and Light, can break this deadly plight. Take these words of a Siren's song, Hope you are not dead by dawn." and take the new ones from tonight "Blood so royal, but like mud it will soil. Pure like death, you will never confess, Sirens sin a song, until all of you are gone."

"You have clearly caught on to something I have not, care to share?"

She looked him in the eyes and stated a the fact, "Pure-bloods can not break this curse."
