Siren's Sin

Chapter

4: Fault

Hermione didn't give up, she was still looking for something, anything to save friends. To save Draco. They had just gotten back from Christmas break. Ginny was in a world of tears, after she found out what Hermione knew. They sat at the Gryffindor table eating breakfast, as the mail came. Dropping off another Parcel for Hermione. Like the two times before she opened it and read the note that came with it:

Apart from finding out discouraging information about my fate, I still want to see you happy. I want to see you smile and laugh and enjoy life. No matter who you are going to lose in the future, remember I will always be watching you. Even if I don't come to your mind.

'This person is a riddle of his own, I swear Siren's Sin makes more since.' Hermione thought. 'Here is a thought, he's a pure-blood with the curse, who is sending me gold printed books, about a dragon and a girl hates him, Oh my Merlin's beard, Malfoy!. I should of known.' Hermione grabbed the book and quickly got up leaving the great hall.

Snake Pit:

"I think she had epiphany."

"Or she is cracked egg." Pansy chuckled, then looked at Draco she then said, "Go after her, you dolt." She pushed at him. Grumbling Draco got up and went after the brilliant witch.

Hermione's thoughts and feelings had changed over the course of Christmas break for Draco Malfoy. She saw him in a whole new light. And as happy as she should feel, she felt depressed. Another person she feels for, she is going to lose. She sat at her table in the back of the library. She had no choice but to find the cure, of a curse no pure-blood can break. Realizing in a short amount of time, she had grown feelings for him, which made tears swell up in her eyes, she let freely fall, since no one was around to see her.

"Please, Don't cry, Granger." Draco said as he walked out from behind a shelf, and sat down beside her.

Hermione sniffled and glared at Draco saying, "This all your fault, if you hadn't gotten me to like you, I would not be in tears over you."

Nodding Draco pulled her into a tight embrace. They remained like that for quite sometime.

A couple days later, quite a few pure-bloods ended up the hospital in Hogwarts, from all sorts of things, One being they spat up so much blood they passed out. Another was headaches that they went blind and deaf and the other one which was not discussed was every single one of their bones were broken even the ones in their skull, and had to be sent to St. Mungo's. Draco was one of many in the Hogwarts hospital, along with Ginny, Blaise, Theo and Pansy. Hermione went and visited them when they were awake and when Poppy didn't kick her out. That witch was far to busy, with too many patients .

When Draco was the last one remaining Hermione found it a lot more easier to be in there. He didn't put up much of fight, like the others who moaned, groaned, shouted like sailors, and the occasional throwing of random objects. Poppy had to take most of their wands away from them, since they decided not to behave. And the only time Draco shouted was when some other Slytherins tried to blame this all on Hermione. Which wasn't even logical, and Draco had to scream at them to get it through their thick skulls. Even Ginny screamed at them, they're not even her house. Ginny was not like her brothers, her wrath was greater, and they feared that. Hermione's wrath may scare a lot of people how ever she couldn't win against thick-headed Slytherins who wanted to play 'Lets blame the muggle-born because we can' game. Hermione was going over through books she already read over and over trying to see if she missed anything. Draco watched her from his hospital bed, he then spoke, "You need to take a break, clear your head."

Hermione shook her head no and replied, "How can do that, Ginny is dying, so are the others, Draco you're dying. I can't sit back and just watch." A tear slipped down cheek.

"I really don't expect you to find a cure, I don't expect any one too. As far as I am concerned I am getting what I deserve."

Hermione smacked him and hard. "Ow!" More tears ran down her face, Draco patted a place beside him on the bed, she didn't give it too much thought, she climbed up and laid beside him. Burying her face into his chest, his arms wrapped around her tightly. "Be mine, until the day I die?, even if that is hundred years from now?"

She sniffled , "Always."

Hermione and Draco sat outside by the Black Lake, watching the giant squid thrash about in the murky water. It was cold out, but they were bundled up. "I kind of had the idea to go ask the merfolk about their riddles, but I decided against it, since they would try and kill me. That and if they did tell me, they would kill me after wards, and if by chance they did not succeed, I would be in so much trouble with so many people."

Draco pinched the bride of his nose and shook his head, he couldn't believe that, that went through her head as possible option. "I also came up with others, but they are just as crazy.."

"Don't just don't. I need to tell you something, and you can't repeat it..."

She looked curiously at him waiting for him to continue.

"So after some more digging my mother stumbled upon something I kind of had a feeling about...turns out the wizard that committed such barbaric crimes is a Black. So this Sirens Sin is in a way my fault. I may not of committed his crimes, but I would be the key to end the curse, and for good. Either I live or die the curse ends. Unfortunately others would die with it."

Gasping Hermione had epiphany and replied, "I think I may know, are you virgin?"
