Chapter 6

The day's pass quickly, days become weeks, and weeks become months. After my exams I had decided to take a semester off from school to look after my cubs. Life is never boring with my daughters in my life. They both look very similar from each other, unless one truly looks at them at close distances, one can not tell that they are different from night to day. My first born is an early riser who I name Haruka '陽花'. My second child, born just 2 minutes after her sister often refuses to sleep at night, but once asleep she is difficult to wake I name her Yuuka '悠花'.

Five months after my cub's birth, they had finally decided to take human features. I had hoped that I would be able to find parts of myself in them. However, my hope was in vain. Other than my soul appearances, they had taken after their father in every way, not only did they take after their father's hair and eye color, they had taken the shape of his facial structures only a slightly more feminine. Their blue blood heritage would be difficult to hide as they grow older, when the feature becomes more prominent.

As the year passed, I had completed my degree graduating with honor and joined grandma in the family business. My cubs grow leaps and bounds in front of my eyes, my small pack is not perfect but loving. Haruka is an inquisitive child, when something catches her interest she will learn everything she could on the subject before her inquiries are stated, then she looks for the next great adventure. Yuuka unlike her sister was calm, and approaches everything at her own pace, despite sleeping in her class her grades compete with her sisters for the top marks, in music her talent is uncontested.

For five years, I had not stepped foot into Japan for fear of running into him or his family. My adopted parents who I have been keeping in contact with through letters and phones (because they refuse the use of technology) wish dearly to meet their grandchildren's. I have run out of reasonable excuses to delay the trip. Even without any blood relations, they raised me as their own, as such Haruka and Yuuka are their grandchildren in all but blood. It is unfair for me to have kept my cubs from meeting their other grandparents, and it is just as unfair for me to keep my parents who had taken such care in raising me as their own from their grandchildren's.

Unsettling, I made the plans to travel to Japan. Luckily, Conan had decided to accompany us on the trip as the dutiful godfather that he is.
