A/N: Got this one from a meme, actually... Also, title has nothing to do with the episode "Destiny," this whole fic is a Snart Lives, Fuck Destiny world. Also: there will be hints of other ships in here periodically - like for instance, we have Atomwave in this one. Other possible ships are minor TimeShip (Rip x Gideon for those who didn't know) and possible canon pairings.
Disclaimer: If I owned LoT, Len wouldn't be dead and Captain Canary would have been more than casual flirting and one kiss. So basically no, it's not mine.
Day 2: Our Destiny
The conversation had started out normally, at least.
It was a slow day on the Waverider that found Leonard, Sara, Ray, and Mick in Sara's office. The four had gotten bored and had all convened to try and relieve the boredom.
Needless to say, with the four of them, it worked.
"So, uh...the four of us are all paired off now," Ray started. "To someone else in the room, no less."
"Get to the point, Raymond," Leonard drawled.
"Just...wondering how you two's relationship has been going," Ray said, somewhat awkwardly.
Mick, who was as usual eating a donut, added, "Have you two had sex yet?"
"Mick!" protested Sara and Ray at the same time.
"What?" Mick shrugged. "It's a fair question."
Leonard merely smirked and said, "I could ask the same thing about you and Raymond."
Mick choked on his donut. Ray turned red. Sara just laughed and high-fived her boyfriend.
"I - um - we -" Ray was stuttering and didn't seem able to form a complete sentence. Mick saved him.
"Drop it, Haircut," he said, going back to his donut. Ray shut up.
There was a silence, and then Sara suggested, "Let's play a game."
"Like what?" Mick asked around a mouthful of donut.
"What about 'In Twenty Years'?" Sara suggested. When all she got was blank stares, she explained, "Laurel and I used to play it when we were younger. We'd fantasize about what our lives would be like in twenty years. Basically one of us woud ask a question about the other's life, and the other would answer 'In twenty years, I...' and then would go on to say what they'd do in response to the question."
"Sounds interesting. I'm in," Leonard said.
"So am I," Ray said. "This'll be either really fun or really embareassing."
"When Laurel and I played, it was usually both," Sara informed him.
Mick shrugged. "Everyone else is playing. Fine." He produced another donut from behind him (Sara guessed he'd fabricated a box of them) as the game began.
"I'll go first, to show you how it works," Sara said. "Mick - where will you be living, in twenty years?"
Mick considered his donut for a moment, then took another bite and replied, "Aruba." That brought a smirk to Leonard's face and a smile to Ray and Sara's.
"Now, Mick, it's your turn to ask someone a question," Sara instructed.
"Oh." Mick looked around at the other three for a moment, then addressed Leonard. "Boss - what will your job be?"
Leonard grinned. "In twenty years? Still robbing banks."
Sara smacked him; Leonard retreated to sit near Mick, giving her a playful smirk. She glared at him, but only halfheartedly.
Leonard needed no instruction. "Sara - who will your friends be in twenty years?"
Sara's turn to smirk. "Oliver and his team...Barry and his team...Kara and her team...oh, yeah, and you guys."
Ray laughed; Mick shrugged and reached for another donut; Leonard smirked.
"Ray - what time period will you be living in?"
"In twenty years...I think I'd have settled on the Old West," Ray decided.
"Of course you would," muttered Leonard, though his smirk remained. Mick looked up in alarm at Ray; Sara just laughed, knowing Mick was remembering how she'd drunk him into the table the first time they were there, and still managed to kick ass during the bar fight.
"Snart - will you be married, and if so, to whom?" asked Ray.
Leonard smirked and looked directly at Sara. "In twenty years, I guarantee you, I will be Sara's second husband."
Sara gave him a look, raising an eyebrow. "What happened to my first husband or wife?" she asked pointedly.
Leonard gave her the lopsided smirk she loved so much. "Nothing you can prove," he said.
Sara smiled. Leonard casually plucked the next donut right out of Mick's hand and asked his next question. "Mick - in twenty years, will you still be obsessed with fire?"
"Yes," Mick said. "Also, that was mine!"
Leonard took a bite. "Not anymore."
Sara and Ray exchanged a look, and then both proceeded to burst out laughing.
"Sara," Mick interrupted. "Will you have kids?"
"Interesting question, coming from you," Sara grinned. "In twenty years, yeah, I probably will have children."
"Whose?" Ray inquired.
"Probably his," Sara said, gesturing at Leonard, who scowled at her. She just grinned back.
Their game continued until they ran out of interesting questions to ask. Afterward, Ray and Mick wandered off (Leonard had stolen another donut and given it to Sara; Mick wasn't too happy about that but claimed he needed a beer anyway), leaving Leonard and Sara alone.
"Second husband, huh?" she teased.
"Shut up," Leonard told her. "You're the one who made the comment about kids."
"Guilty," Sara conceded. "You've got to admit that was fun though."
Leonard smiled at her. "Yeah, it was."
Sara kissed him lightly. "Up for a round or two of gin?"
"You are so on," Leonard replied.
"You know I'm going to win, right?" Sara asked.
Leonard intertwined their hands as they left Sara's office. "Yeah. I know."
You're welcome. I hope this one was funny, it was meant to be. I think my favorite part of that was when Mick choked on his donut...and then later when Len stole another one out of his hands. Please let me know your favorite 'In Twenty Years' question and answer in reviews!
