Tails and Cosmo arrived at the train station. Tails bought two tickets and he and Cosmo boarded the train to Station Square. As the two sat down in a booth, they received glares from a lot of people. Cosmo looked worried.
'Are they glaring because of me?' Cosmo asked Tails.
'Never mind them.' Tails said. 'They don't understand us.'
Cosmo nodded. After a while riding the train, they arrived in Station Square. Tails and Cosmo walked out of the train station. Cosmo's eyes widened.
'This is incredible! Look at all those buildings and things! It's just beautiful!' Cosmo exclaimed.
Tails smiled and nodded. 'Yep. They didn't have such things back in space.'
'What should we do first?' Cosmo asked.
'We could take a walk around Station Square.' Tails suggested.
Cosmo nodded. 'Okay, let's go.' She said.
Tails and Cosmo then walked around Station Square before running into a human man. This was Pete Schmidt, Alex' best friend.
'Hey, Tails! Hey, Cosmo!' Pete greeted.
'Hey, Pete.' Tails replied.
Cosmo remembered Pete from when he and Alex fought the Metarex alongside her. 'Hi, Mr. Pete!' She happily responded.
'Alex told me that Cosmo came back to life, and it made me really happy, mainly because it's the first time in two years I've seen Alex happy. So, whatcha here for?' Pete asked.
'I decided to show Cosmo Station Square, because they don't have this kind of stuff up in space.' Tails told Pete.
Pete nodded. 'I understand completely. I've been living for quite a few years now, but I still find it incredible here.'
Tails smiled. 'Well, we'll be going now. Bye, Pete!' He said.
'Okay, see you soon!' Pete said as Tails and Cosmo walked off. Cosmo smiled.
'It sure was nice to see Mr. Pete again.' Cosmo remarked.
'Yeah. Haven't seen him in two years.' Tails remarked.
'It sure is nice to see old friends again.' Cosmo said. Tails nodded in agreement. They then walked around Station Square before sitting down at the terrace of a café. The two looked through the menu before ordering. A waiter walked over to the two.
'Can I take your order?' The waiter asked.
'Yes, I'll have a black coffee with a cheese sandwich, please.' Tails said.
The waiter nodded and looked at Cosmo. 'And you, young lady?'
'I'll have a lemon tea with some coffee cake.' Cosmo replied.
The waiter wrote the orders down and went inside to get the orders.
'It's very nice here, Tails. You should take me here more often.' Cosmo said to Tails.
'I'll try.' Tails told her.
As Tails and Cosmo talked, they continued to receive glares from people who mumbled things under their breath. This appeared to annoy Tails, but he shook it off as the waiter arrived with their orders.
'Enjoy.' The waiter told them. Tails and Cosmo then proceeded to eat and drink. After finishing their meals, Tails went inside to pay, then came back out and left with Cosmo.
'Well, we've done about enough for today. How about we go home?' Tails asked Cosmo.
Cosmo nodded. 'Okay, let's go.' She said.
Tails and Cosmo took the train back home. Once they got home, they spent the night watching tv before heading off to bed.
'Hey, Tails, is it okay if I sleep in your bed with you tonight?' Cosmo asked.
Tails blushed. 'Sure, Cosmo.' He replied. Cosmo nodded and the two went to bed. They cuddled and then fell asleep. The next morning, Cosmo was helping Tails with household chores. Cosmo was making breakfast as Tails took out the trash. When Tails got back inside, Cosmo had made some scrambled egg.
'This looks good, Cosmo.' Tails remarked.
'Thank you. I hope it tastes good too.' Cosmo said. She put the food on the table and she and Tails sat down. They then began eating.
'Mm, this tastes good. You're a good cook, Cosmo.' Tails said.
'Thank you, Tails. It makes me happy to hear you say that.' Cosmo said, blushing a bit.
Tails and Cosmo then laughed as they continued eating.
Meanwhile, in his apartment in Station Square, Alex was enjoying some time by himself. He listened to the radio as he was reading a novel.
'Man, this novel sure is interesting. I wonder what'll happen to Buford in the end…' Alex said to himself. Suddenly, he heard someone knock on the door.
'It's open, come on in!' Alex called out.
Alex' boss, Chester Hamilton came in.
'Hey, Alex. It's good to hear you've cheered up since Cosmo came back to life.' Chester said as he closed the door and sat down in a chair.
Alex smiled and nodded. 'I know, sir. It's really something I needed to lighten up my life.'
'Indeed. I came by to check on you and see what you were up to.' Chester said.
'Well, I was just reading a novel.' Alex replied. 'Want some coffee?' He asked his boss.
'I'd love some.' Chester replied.
Alex nodded, put a bookmark in his book and got up to make some coffee. Once the coffee was done, Alex gave his boss a cup before sitting down with a cup of coffee himself.
'So, have you been for the last few days?' Chester asked.
'Since Cosmo's return, I've never been better, sir.' Alex replied.
'Alright, I'm glad to hear that.' Chester replied as he took a sip of his coffee. Alex did the same.
'I'm going to stop by Tails' house to check on him and Cosmo tomorrow. I'm sure that they won't really mind.' Alex said.
'I'm sure they'd really appreciate the thought, Alex. You've always been there for your friends, and you've got a heart of gold. Everyone loves you because of it.' Chester replied.
Alex smiled. 'You're too kind, sir.' He replied.
'No, I mean it. You know, I don't think you would mind if…I gave you a call when I need a right hand man, do you?' Chester asked.
Alex's eyes widened, but he smiled.
'I would love that.' Alex replied.
'Good, good to hear.' Chester finished his coffee and got up. 'Well, I gotta get back to work. I'll let you know when I need you, Alex.' He said as he left.
'Oh yeah!' Alex happily said as he got up and did a little victory dance. 'Ooh! Ah! Hell yeah!' Alex said in celebration.
