Hey! So, I'm back, and this time it's going to be Silena Beauregard. She's a daughter of Aphrodite, and she died...:/ seems like all the people Mira is writing to die, perhaps she's cursed :O
Anyways. Review responses below, for anyone who reviewed, which isn't really that many people :/
Multi fandom geekerello (I'm just going to get yours out of the way before tackling ThatGirlWithaCat's XD): A son of a biscuit...hmm. I dunno what biscuits those would be...I suppose a *insert the same random, generic biscuit that nobody like*
Yes, they are very creative insults. Such as, yes, sugar honey ice tea. I learned what that means, because Ellie almost said it in her review! Thanks Ellie! Anyway. I had to put up two tabs, because if I didn't do that for all of these reviews I'd be doing it for hours...anyway.
Really. Well, tell that to Hammmmmm with six m's. Anyway.
Of course you're too lazy to piece together clues, you actually got one, I just didn't actually confirm it or say anything about it. It was one even Ellie couldn't find out about in her theory review, which I will cover, later in this Author's Note.
Read Mortal Friendships. It's good. It was fun to write. People apparently liked it.
I named a make believe fairy Charisma once. She had red hair and green eyes. And I hadn't even read Harry Potter or Percy Jackson. *shrug* IDK.
Yup.
Yup.
Yeah...I don't even like avocados themselves...my cat does. She eats them. I don't know why. She eats all sort of creamy stuff. She's a weird little kitty.
Thanks! I really liked this one too! Zoë (and the...umlaut, as you call it, is on the E, not the O) is an amazing character, she's not static and flat like others *cough* Drew *cough* and yeah. And thanks! I almost never write beautiful things...just sad...things...so thanks.
Yeah...I didn't like that she had forgotten about Mira *cough* Coincidence? *cough* And so I went looking on the Riordan wiki because...Oracle of Trophonius, and that stuff Lester Papadopoulos had to drink *cough* it's saying Papadopoulos isn't a word. HOW DARE YOU. IT'S MY FAKE PEN LAST NAME! *cough* and so yeah, I had to give Zira at least a sort of happy ending.
THAT'S RIGHT, PEOPLE READING THIS. ZIRA. NO...Perzoë...no...Thalia/Zoë, I have Zira.
For some reason, Plerzoë is an accepted word. I think it's some sort of German or something, I suppose, I'll just go to Google translate- apparently it's Afrikaans. I guess African? But it doesn't appear to have a meaning, so IDK.
Don't grade my chapter, just leave me nice reviews.
Yes. As you said in PMs, stuff I wanted to say probably bled over here...anyway. This is a really long response! Time to go to Ellie's...X_X...RIP Nyssa...or rather...Sarcastic Sylvatica...
ThatGirlWithaCat #1 (The Really Long Signed One): Okay. So. Where do I even start with this over a thousand word long review? It's actually longer than the length of this computer screen, no joke. Okay. In the words of you, 'let's get to it!'.
The rating. 9/10! Yay! Yes. Long chapter, good spelling, yes...Zoë writing was hard but fun...Shakespearean is not easy...detail, yes...backstory, definitely...development...yay. That is a Gouda job.
Nightshade Flower, yes. IDK. Mira's a weird person. I LIKE Thanos! He's an amazing person! Unlike some other people *cough* Avengers *cough* he doesn't go around 'saving the world', and he snapped his fingers and a half of the world died! T.H.A.N.A.T.O.S. That is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves. My dad said he was probably based at least partially off of, you guessed it, Thanatos! I like Thanatos better than Thanos! Anyway, I do know that nightshade is a family of flowering plants, what else is the TCBOTFF for? (The Complete Book Of The Flower Fairies) But yes. There's a lot of different names. And yes, Belladonna is another of the many names of the marvelous plant. Yes. Marvelous. Hmm. Bellona and Belladonna are both quite lethal..hmm. Yes. Tomatoes. Tomatillos. I don't really get what tomatillos are. Goji berries, EGGPLANTS? Blech. Potatoes? Tobacco...hmm. Yup. Every day.
I dunno who Rick and Morty, and Rick Bayless, are. Yup. You aren't going to get it spoiled, because I shall say NOTHING! MWAHAHA! I feel like some sort of evil person.
I dunno where Hammmmmm comes from.
Wizard of Oz, I liked the flying monkeys. If you've ever read Chris Colfer's The Land of Stories, there's a flying monkey character, I forget what his name is, but he's cute.
Magic beans...
I agree. Rachel isn't crazy. The arrow might be...
Yup.
Well, actually, I know who Hammmmmm is. A friend of mine of sorts, IDK how they knew it was me! XD well I suppose I should talk to them. Anyway, we can stop theorizing about the guests. There's a lot more review to get to!
Leighton. Hmm. Funny. I just borrowed his name from some other places. There are a lot of different plants with Leighton in them. Funny. Leighton Cypress, Leighton Pine~ and that's sad that you couldn't slide the card, that's like the best part of a hotel room! Yes. Adam should read Mortal Friendships. It's amazing, or at least people think so. I'm not too sure myself. Yeah. Mira could never change her name to Natalie, or Nathalie, or Natalia, or any of those variations. Why? It will be revealed in the Last Letter. ...I legitimately didn't know that Natalie Greene or Natalie Green was a person.
No, he doesn't. Beckendorf, not Beckandorf, but I digress. Beckendorf is forever better, much better. Hmm. Chrysaor. I might do that for a special thing. But IDK. Chrysler and Chrysaor, I like the latter better. I know. I couldn't forget. Thank you, I tried to make a nice ending.
Second review responding time...anyway. Yup. Okay. Yeah. Thanks for telling me what Adam's sugar honey ice tea actually means! I needed that! Anyway, yeah...author's notes are really long...
*sigh of contentment* the Siri Rap:
Chapter 8.
Reviewing now, you'll have to wait.
If only Mira's name was Kate.
But that's not how it is, 'cause fate.
I don't know, but I think the chapter might be late. (late, late late)
Yes. Based off DMG, by me...Sarcastic Sylvatica...and The Great E...which is...Ellie...
Okay. Last part of the response. Mitchell's. I suppose it's Asian, I just...I'm pretty sure they had corn ice cream that one time...weird flavors.
Yup. Joni Mitchell and Mitchell's.
OH THANK GOD I'm DONE.
ThatGirlWithaCat #2 (The Clarification Short Guest One): Oh, okay, thanks.
ThatGirlWithaCat #3 (The Natalie's Greene One): That's cool. I dunno why I even thought of Natalie, but it does sound good with Green. Or Greene. But anyway. Yes. MAG. Better than NAG. ...oh my gods. NAG! XD
A performer, teacher, creates, collaborator, that's always nice. San Francisco. Ever watched Elf? That scene where Buddy the Elf keeps saying Francisco? Heh...when was it a joke? Well, I suppose it could have been a joke, but don't worry, she's Mira, not Natalie. But yes. Weird, I suppose.
ThatGirlWithaCat #4 (Then This One): So this is the theory review. Whelp. Let's get started!
Yes. Mira's father's name is Leighton, however, his name is actually Leighton Greene with the 'e', not Leighton Green without the 'e'.
This one, however, is a bit trickier. Yes. She wrote to Ethan basically up to the Battle of Manhattan, in August 2009, telling him she was twelve and such. Her birthday is before April 15, however, take into account that the months from the previous year could be before April 15- such as if her birthday was November 11, her birthday would still be before April 15, meaning she could have been born in another year such as 1996. And yes, that would mean that her 24th birthday is coming up soon. Gotta love those golden birthdays!
Mira did know Luke Castellan before. This does mean that she could have also met and known Thalia Grace and Annabeth Chase (that rhymes). If she met Luke alone, she may have been in Connecticut at the time, however if she met Thalia and Annabeth then she would have been in Pennsylvania. Mira would have already been in one of those places, yes, which begs the question, why?
Now, to go onto the second set of interconnected theories.
Yes. We have an old lonely man named Halcyon Green. He doesn't have the 'e', btw. Just wanted to say so. Or at least he doesn't on the Riordan Wiki. But I digress, we aren't here about the Green/Greene conspiracy. He was, yes, trapped in the mansion and blah blah blah.
1. Mira being Halcyon Green's granddaughter. This could be plausible, however, to hold up the other theories that you have here, we'll have to let this one go.
Again, it's not Mira who has the Greene, but her father. But anyways.
2. It could 100% be some sort of protection, because of Hal and stuff. But.
3. Mira could be the girl that Halcyon saved, however, we must talk about the 'e'. Yes. Those could all work, but with the way that your other theories have gone, they cannot function together. Very sorry. Your deduction is quite good.
Yes. We've looked at the connection to Luke, Halcyon, 'E', Leighton, and the Birthdate.
Mira's mother is 100% the cereal goddess. But if she's Hal's granddaughter, Hal would have had to have a wee little affair with Aphrodite, because Mira's grandmother is Aphrodite- Leighton's mother, this has already been stated.
Anyways, excellent deduction. Some of them might be true with different factors!
Dear Mira Green, from Lena Beauregard:
Dear Mira Green, August 1
Mira, darling! It's so nice to hear from you again, it's been so long since we spoke. I trust you're doing well?
I myself have been having a marvelous time. Well, besides the fact that the war is coming quickly upon us even as we speak. Charlie is going with Percy Jackson sometime soon to stage an attack on the Princess Andromeda, but I'm sure you know that stuff already.
Speaking of Charlie, how are you? Any significant others in your life? Both of us know you deserve it, you work so hard.
Lena Beauregard
Mira Green blinked at this, Silena really hadn't changed. The daughter of Aphrodite was just the same as she had always been- asking after other peoples' love lives, gushing about the newest guy- this Charlie seemed like a keeper. She was pretty sure she meant Charles Beckendorf...Mira did, in fact, know about the attack on Luke's yacht as she had been in the New York area on a travel a few weeks ago. Silena must have forgotten. Huh. That was weird.
Dear 'lena Beauregard, August 6
This is rather nice, it's such a shame we stopped conversing...what was it, last year? And of course I'm doing well, why wouldn't I be?
Yes, it's been a relaxing summer, albeit very fast paced, at least for me. I've been doing a lot of traveling but I'm back in California for awhile...at least until the end of the war, I'm not quite sure. Ever since the winter before last- with the prophecy to save Artemis and all- I have had a lot of stuff I needed to put in order. Charlie sounds like a really nice guys- that's Beckendorf, right?
I'm doing pretty well. And, no. No significant others. You know that. And not really...I haven't really been working for four years. You know.
Mira Green
Silena frowned at the mention of this. Some things never changed about Mira. She deflected conversations from herself but was painfully honest. She worked a lot- well, not her work, exactly, as she wasn't exactly of working age, but she travelled a lot and spent a lot of time at Camp, and she had never thought about a cute guy in her life that Silena knew of. Silena was pretty sure she hadn't thought of a cute girl in her life, having been a Hunter until about...three years ago, when she showed up without her blessed youthful immortality, and a faded silver aura that remained constant. On a break, she said every time. She stayed in the Artemis cabin. Not in Demeter's. Said it didn't feel safe, or right, that she was a Hunter first, Demeter's daughter second.
Silena was pretty sure she had been in denial. Mira had only stayed for three weeks, during that time people had wanted the 'Artemis cabin' for Capture-the-Flag, but the people that interacted with Mira Green could tell she wasn't comfortable. She acted, well, she acted like a Hunter. The only people she hung out with were the two-faced Janus kids, who Mira appeared to like the unpredictability of.
Dear Mira Green, August 10
I think it was last year. But it might actually have been three years ago, remember? The last time I really remember was when you had just become an ex-Hunter, of some sort I think, and you were visiting Camp Half-Blood for three weeks, and we didn't write afterwards?
Yes, the summer has been relaxing, I suppose it's what the mortals call the 'calm before the storm', perhaps? I'm not...quite sure. But it certainly feels like the calm before a storm, if no one knew there'd be a war this summer, I think it'd be especially calm...but it isn't, it's very chaotic and twirly, in fact. Really, traveling? With whom, did you make up with your father? But...yeah. Ever since Zoë Nightshade and Bianca di Angelo didn't return, the Hunters haven't visited at all, which has been a bit weird, they often popped in at least once a year. But I don't blame them. Have you seen your ex-sisterhood since It? And yes, Charles Beckendorf. My Charlie.
Well, that's okay, is there anyone you...like? Well, yeah, I know, you got kicked out of the Hunters or whatever, but that doesn't mean you don't beat yourself up.
Lena Beauregard
Mira Green frowned...ex-Hunter? She bit her lip and kept reading. The Calm Before the Storm, she mused. It would make a nice book, if it isn't one already. She kept reading on as she was intent on not falling into the past. Chaotic and twirly? Wasn't that...it was. She shook her head at the reference. Anyone who knew her, really knew her, would see the subtle clench of her knuckles as she kept reading.
Dear Lena Beauregard, August 12
It may have been three years ago. When I was on a break from the Hunt. Separate. But that isn't why we're here. But that may have been it.
I suppose that's what one might call it, the 'calm before the storm'. I'd say it's not quite that, but I agree that if the war wasn't upon us in a few days, it wouldn't be so...chaotic and twirly, as you put it. Nice reference.
No, I have not...made up...with Leighton. It would be a little hard to considering the circumstances now. But anyways, no, I didn't. I've been doing some traveling with bands of demigods, nymphs, you know the drill. Really. That is odd...I mean, I assume Camp would have bad memories for those who knew Zoë and Bianca, don't you think? I dunno, I haven't been myself...busy, you know. The war's on the horizon. And yes. I saw Hunters quite recently, actually, but that's a story for another time. Beckendorf. I met him a few times, he seemed nice. I'm happy for you.
And no, Silena, I have not liked a living person for a while. No Belle Donnas, or bellissimo uomini. Let's drop this.
Mira Green
Silena frowned, it appeared she'd hit a few nerves on that last letter, nerves she had not meant to strike. Mira was a strong girl, though, Silena had no doubt she would get past it. What had happened to Leighton? Had he moved to Malaysia or something? She sighed. Mira was still on that 'on a break from the Hunt' thing. But she'd seen the Hunters quite recently? That was interesting. Silena blinked at the last lines. Belle meant beautiful, in French, the language of love. The rest, she was pretty sure, was Italian. Interesting was all she could really say about it all.
Mira was quite an interesting character.
Dear Lena Beauregard, August 14
I just heard, I'm so sorry.
Mira Green
The unexpected letter encased six words, but they meant a lot.
Dear Mira Green, August 16
Yeah, it may have been. On a break? I thought you'd quit or something.
Thanks. I try.
The circumstances? What are the circumstances? Bands of demigods and nymphs? Like those new demigods that came in in a group the other week? That's interesting. I didn't think nymphs really traveled. Aren't they bound to places? But I suppose, that those who knew Zoë and Bianca wouldn't want to come back. Like that kid, Nico di Angelo. Since he disappeared I don't think he's come back. The kid could be dead. Really, you've seen the Hunters? That's interesting.
Belle Donna? Bellissimo Uomini? I didn't know you knew French and Italian.
Thank you. That means a lot.
Lena Beauregard
Mira Green was truly sorry to hear about Charles Beckendorf's passing, he had meant a lot to Silena, and Silena, while not someone she knew very very well, had been a sort of friend. She asked a lot of questions Mira didn't particularly care to answer, though, but Mira disregarded this. It wasn't her fault that she was curious, curiosity was good in small amounts, but it was curiosity that killed the cat...
Dear Lena Beauregard, August 18
No, I didn't quit. That's why I said I was on a break, because I wasn't with the Hunters anymore. But I didn't quit. I had to leave for different reasons.
I don't really feel comfortable discussing the circumstances, just know, that my paternal unit and I shall not be talking, let alone making up, for a very long time. Perhaps it'll be an eternity, I'm not quite sure. It really depends. But we won't cross paths for a long time, I dare say. And yes. Demigods, nymphs...some mortals, I believe. It doesn't really matter too much, though, you know. Some nymphs are bound to places. Dryads. I think that air nymphs or cloud nymphs, aurae and nebulae, aren't bound. But yeah. I don't really fancy returning to stay at Camp Half-Blood again. No matter how many Capture-the-Flag games there are. And yes. I've seen the Hunters often. And yes. I do know those two languages. German's also nice.
Mira Green
Mira didn't get a response, in fact, she didn't think the letter she had sent on the morning of August 18th had been read at all. She was glad about that part. That would mean less questions about her, questions she needed to evade at the moment. This wasn't the time for questions.
She had the chance to see the bead for that summer, look at the names. Ethan Nakamura, Michael Yew, Luke Castellan, Charles Beckendorf...Silena Beauregard.
It was oddly sad. Shouldn't she be used to the love and the loss? She wasn't supposed to love anyway, after all. She wasn't supposed to remember so much after all the years. This summer had had a lot of loss. Silena, Ethan, Luke, Beckendorf. The son of Apollo named Michael. Family had been lost.
And she was still here.
