Once there was a kid named Miguel. He lived in Porto, Portugal. He was fanatic for Harry Potter, and saying that was an understatement. That's why when, on the 31st of July, a letter from Hogwarts, the best magic teaching school in Europe, dropped on his lap magically, he panicked. Was it possible that it was all true? The books? The boy who lived? The magic itself? He was overjoyed, more than what he could even fathom. He ran to his mom and let her read the letter.
After a hard and confusing day, he was happy that his mother could see that the letter was real and that she allowed him to go the Hogwarts School of Wizardry.
Now, apparently, you don't need to do any shopping as it is done for you when you are muggles, but we'll have a visit to the famous alley mid-term. That sounded exciting. Harry couldn't wait for the first day of school
Far, far away, there was a young girl, the only other Portuguese girl that was selected to hogwarts, and even though she didn't even know what Harry Potter was, she was excited to learn magic. Her name, Ana Nóbrega.
1st of September
Today was the first day of Hogwarts and he couldn't wait. He had read every book they had sent the muggle students to prepare for hogwarts more then 5x each. He was ready for whatever was coming(or so he thought).
He arrives to the station and just like in the movies, no platform 9 and 3 quarters. But this time, he was just supposed to jump on the train that was on platform 9. Meh, less magical, but also less conspicuous, he thought. He gets on the train pretty early and as such there are a lot of compartments available to him. He chooses one in the middle of the train that's completely free. After putting away all his stuff he puts the robes on just so he can experience this a little better. He picks up one of the books he got from Hogwarts and starts reading to pass the time.
After a while, two students came in.
- Excuse me, are these seats taken? - the boy with golden hair and green eyes asked.
- No. You can sit here!
- Hi, my name's Reginald, you can call me Regi. - and extended his hand
- Hi regi, I'm Miguel. And who are you?
- I'm Ana.
- Hi Ana, so how are you guys feeling about your first day? Any of you muggleborn?
- I am - Ana answered.
- What about you?
- I'm not, I'm with her because she was lost in the train station.
- Oh okay, so you know about the hogwarts houses right? Which one do you think the sorting hat will put you in?
- I'm thinking hufflepuff - Regi answered - but I feel like gryfindor wouldn't be too bad of a choice but then again... - and he continued to ramble on.
It wasn't long before they were close to arriving, and after what felt like a whole day chatting about what he knew about hogwarts, he finally decided to ask some personal questions, and was surprised when he found out that Ana was also Portuguese.
After arriving, they pretty much walked around as a group untill they had reached the doors of the The Great Hall.
- This is it guys, I hope you're ready - Regi told us in a low voice, in order that Professor McGonagall didn't hear him.
- Pay attention students, I will open these doors soon enough, but first, you will walk directly behind me in a straight line, organized by the alphabet and you will not leave that line untill you are called upon, after the hat has announced your house, you will go seat at your table. For those of you who don't know, there are four houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Now, keep quiet, and keep up. - and as soon as the last sound came out of her mouth, the doors opened, like magi- oh, yea.
Yes, the Great Hall is everything the name suggest, a great hall, the ceiling was so high up it seemed impossible to change the chandeliers. But he couldn't focus on that, no, he had to walk in the very straight line behind McGonagall, now separated from his two new friends.
- Welcome first years! I am the headmaster of this school and I wish you good luck in your upcoming school year, now, get ready to put on the hat. - Dumbledoor announced, acting as Great as he had seemed in the books.
- First one, Ana Nóbrega.
After a good few minutes, the hat yelled
- Slytherin!
And there was the biggest roar of applauses he'd ever seen, he couldn't help but to feel overwhelmed by the sense of happiness, he even let a small tear drop from his eye. This truly felt like the hogwarts he read about.
After a while, he was called up.
- So, muggleborn, which house do you feel like going? - the hat asked
- I'll take slytherin, but I didn't know I'd get to choose.
- You don't, but the way most muggleborns answer usually tells a lot, it has to be
- SLYTHERIN!
He broke a smile, and gave a quick glance to the table and saw his friend, and thought: I just hope Regi goes to slytherin too.
After a while, he found out his other friend went to Gryffindor, he was disappointed, but happy that he got to be with Ana at least.
