Momentarily shocked that Morbus would have the audacity to extend an offer of help right before he insulted her vampiric colleague, though the dark haired succubus had to admit that it was a rather accurate description of her rival in love, Albedo swiftly turned her attention to her master as he responded to this rather suspicious offer.
"I appreciate the offer Morbus, but you'll forgive me if I choose to decline. As Shalltear is a member of Nazrick, it stands to reason that her situation should only be dealt by those who have her best interests at heart. However you needn't worry about your lapse of judgement affecting our agreement. So long as you take steps to ensure that this doesn't happen again, I am perfectly content to treat this as an unfortunate oversight on your part".
Fighting the urge to laugh as her beloved Momonga accurately guessed the nature of the loathsome being's request, the raven haired beauty merely smiled as Morbus attempted to recover from his mild humiliation by acting in a manner that only her skeletal love could hope to pull off.
"If that is the case, then I will take my leave. I wish you the best of luck in your quest to reclaim your lost minion. However, should you need my aid, I am willing to offer your assistance should I not be preoccupied with more…important matters of state".
Sniffing in derision at the implication that Morbus could do anything worthwhile when it wasn't related to her beloved master, Albedo found her amusement growing as her skeletal overlord couldn't help needle the being who believed himself to be her Momonga's equal.
"And what matters of state what that be? Bribing corrupt government officials to look the other way while you smuggle in illegal goods? Or perhaps hiring assassin's to help speed up your rather sluggish conquest of the Slane Theocracy"?
Not bothering to hide her mirthful smile as Nazarick's rightful ruler mocked the efforts of his clear inferior, the black haired succubus quickly lost her amused expression as the robbed bodyguard of Morbus answered for his master.
"Something of far greater importance skeletal worm. Though I question whether or not Thuringwethil is capable of bearing offspring, the goal of securing my master's legacy is of far greater importance than dealing with the insects that populate this land".
…
If he still possessed the ability to do so, Ainz was certain that his face would currently be sporting an expression of not only disbelief, but jealousy as well.
As it was, when greeted with the news that his fellow player was being…well, a player, the skeletal overlord merely allowed his lower jaw to drop as Albeo gave voice to the feelings he was currently unable to convey.
"You…you mean that a lesser being like yourself, one that is grossly inferior to my beloved Momon…I mean Ainz, is capable of…of..doing THAT with those who insanely enough find you attractive"?
His servant's horrified exclamation causing Morbus to sport a scowl at the insinuation that his form was less than pleasing, though he supposed it could have also been caused by the belief that he was inferior, Ainz found himself, not for the first time, missing his ability to convey his emotions through facial expressions. For if he had still possessed them, he was certain that he would be sporting a less than pleasant look as he listened to the almost gloating like tone of the shapeshifter.
"Of course. Unlike your master, my form is perfectly equipped to enjoy both the common benefits, and the sinful pleasures that stem from having living flesh. And I suppose if I was in an experimental mood, I could also alter my form to play out some scenarios that I have seen carried out by…fictional women and multi appendaged creatures from either the deepest oceans or the furthest galaxy".
Transforming his hand until it resembled the tentacle extremities of a multi limbed ocean dweller, Morbus smirked as he caught sight of the black haired succubus's expression.
For displayed upon her face were the unmistakable emotions of anger, disbelief, and if his eyes weren't mistaken, jealousy.
And since he was still annoyed by the lack of respect he had received from the Nazarick dwelling duo, the shape changing overlord activated his modified gate before turning towards the still amusingly silent pair with an apologetic look that was clearly fake.
"While I suspect that such advice is unwelcome from a 'grossly inferior being' such as myself, in the spirit of our agreement, I will nevertheless provide you with a solution to your rather obvious problem Ainz. Though you may lack the ability to fully enjoy the…attentions of your romantically altered servant, that doesn't mean that she can't still jump your bones. In a literal sense of course".
Laughing at the misfortune of not only his fellow dungeon ruler, but also the hysterically depressed succubus, the shape changing leader of Utumno and his strongest creation stepped into the portal of billowing flames, and was gone.
…
Humming a cheerful tune as she strolled through the corridors of her master's fortress, the undead beauty found herself smirking as a familiar voice decided to inform her that she was no longer alone.
"And what's gotten you in such a pleasant mood today? Have your winged mutants managed to find a big enough mouse for you to eat without swallowing it one gulp? Or has our lord and master finally given you permission to turn that sniveling human female into another useless blood sucker"?
Ordinarily, Thuringwethil would have responded to her fellow female's insults with a particularly venomous one of her won, but on this day, she merely smiled, albeit with a noticeable look of triumph, as she turned to face the glaring red head.
"Actually Mara, it's because our lord and master has, after a little convincing by yours truly, agreed to our plan to bolster his ranks with those who carry the same divine fluids that course through his veins".
Her words causing Mara to change her glaring expression to one of carefully guarded joy, the raven haired vampire took great delight in informing her that she had already had a head start in trying to claim the prize that they had both sought.
"Such a shame that your attentions were needed elsewhere Mara, for our lord was quite willing, not mentioned skilled, in his attempts to create an heir. Pity that he had been called away to attend to some pleasantries for I suspect that the next 3 hours of loving making could have very well resulted in the conception of his first heir. Wonder if our new slav…I mean subjects have methods that help ensure a successful impregnation. There's enough of them around to suggest that they have some trick to it".
Shaking in barely restrained jealousy at the gloating figure of her rival, the leather clad woman soon sported her own look of false friendliness as she moved to deflate the vampire's understandably good mood.
"Considering the fact that you belong to a race that is neither dead nor alive, I would hazard a guess that creating an heir for Lord Morbus will take quite some time. Whereas I, a creature whose flesh possesses more than the echoes of life that animate you and your kind, will be able to conceive far easier than a woman whose insides are as dead as her personality".
Snarling at her opponent's unfortunately valid insult, for the truth was that her kind found it difficult, but not impossible, to breed with those that were not of her race, Thuringwethil was sadly unable to offer a retort to the smirking woman as the less than pleased voice of their master echoed throughout the fortress.
"All present Supreme Generals to the throne room. NOW"!.
Though instantly obeying their lord's command like any other loyal members of Utumno, both women secretly wished that the order had come at a later time. And for precisely the same reasons.
For even though they had come to an agreement regarding their desire to enjoy a more carnal relationship with their shape changing lord, that did not meant that their desire to be the favorite bedding partner had subsided.
…
Nodding his head in satisfaction as the last members of the Supreme Generals entered the dimly lit throne room, and choosing for the moment to ignore the occasional hostile looks that were being traded between the only female members of the hastily assembled council, the former librarian kept his tone even as he informed his most powerful servants of the potential threat to their empire building.
"Though normally I would hesitate to believe any piece of intelligence that came from our future adversary, I am regretfully placed in the position where I am forced to acknowledge that he speaks the truth. I can only be grateful that it is a member of Nazarick, rather than Utumno that has suffered the indignation of being brainwashed into forgetting their loyalty, however it does fill me with concern that this very well may be a credible barrier to our attempts to conquer the remaining lands of the Slane Theocracy. To that end, I will be implementing a new policy that ALL of you WILL adhere to. Understood"?
Receiving swift nods from his most powerful servants, though he could tell by their expressions that he would have to explain to them his reasoning. Something which he quickly proceeded to do in order to keep up the image of a strong and wise leader.
"Until we know for certain that the…misfortune that Momonga has suffered is merely a one off experiment made by a dying nation, none of you are to personally engage the enemy. You may continue to lead my armies in the field, but only if you are surrounded by forces loyal to Utumno, and only if you limit yourself to long range attacks".
Casting his gaze upon each and everyone of his servants, the shape changing ruler of Utumno was largely unsurprised by the less than pleased expressions that passed over the faces of his Supreme Generals. However, the molten eyed ruler had expected this to happen, and thus came prepared with a solution that he believed would pacify his blood thirsty minions.
"However, I assure you that this will only be a temporary measure since Momonga's little mishap has highlighted the need to speed up our subjugation of the Slane Theocracy. To that end, I have decided to personally lead our forces against their pathethic capital. Once it falls, I suspect that the nation will either fracture into numerous petty states in the absence of a centralized authority, or offer their immediate surrender once they realize that I can destroy their cities at will. Are there any objections to my plan"?
Pleased to see that his announcement had managed to catch his generals off guard, for it was never wise to be too predictable when surrounded by beings whose moral alignment was evil, Morbus merely raised an eyebrow as the melodious voice of his white robed servant broke the temporary silence that had greeted his announcement.
"Forgive me for saying this my lord, but is such a move wise? While there is no question that the city will fall to your assembled might, I must point out that such a course of action would still leave the Theocracy's armies still intact. And since your intent is to finish this war as quickly as possible, the continued existence of these forces would no doubt delay your total victory".
Conceding that Saruman had an excellent point, and fully remembering the various failures in his world's history when military leaders chose to prioritize the obtainment of a moral victory rather than a strategic one, Morbus needed only a moment to collect his thoughts before expanding upon his plan.
"An excellent observation Saruman. It does my heart good to see that your wisdom has not dulled during your administrative duties, however you fail to recognize two things that will ensure my chosen strategy will bring a near end to this war".
Smirking as the subtle rebuke of his rival, though he had to admit that he had failed to see any flaw with the White Wizard's plan before Morbus had revealed that he was not finished with his explanation, Sidious allowed a hint of curiosity to enter his tone as he addressed his shape changing master.
"And what would those two things be my lord"?
Chuckling at the eagerness of the most grotesque Supreme General, and noting that his remaining servants, including the projected image of Anacalgon whose size made it impossible to enter the throne room, were all gazing at him with equal displays of curiosity, the former librarian told them.
And to his great satisfaction, they were more than pleased with his decision.
…
And think I will stop here for now XD. Apologies for the long wait, but severe case of writers block, plus other interests have caused my devotion to this story to be…less than focused XD.
However, hopefully you all enjoyed this chapter, for it helps to set up my vision of a more in deph battle between my OC and the struggling Slane Theocracy. Not to mention the scene with Albedo XD
FINALLY coming to an end of the first season of the show, really need to watch the new seasons/get back to the manga. I have some idea whats happened (i.e. giant baahing abominations destroying armies XD). But I only know for certain what happened up to the point where Sebas takes pity on a stray.
But even before I saw that scene…had already envisoned a city being besieged by the forces of Utumno. Cause you have to admit, Orc/Uruk kai arm chants are kickass XD.
However….since they lack the numbers of the Return of the King (i.e. the wiki says the film has 200,000 orcs)…they wont be quite the cannon fodder that they are. Cause remember…my OC has elite units XD.
Not sure when I'll get back to this, have some other stories I want to get back to, but hopefully it wont be too long.
Reviews yes, flames no XD.
