Chapter Two: Lost and Found
The Doctor woke up, with three people standing around him. He was sitting in a chair that was reclined back to keep him comfortable. It looked like he was in a laboratory. He recognized the woman.
"Where did you take me? I have to get back to my TARDIS!"
"TARDIS?" A younger man said. He had long black hair.
"Don't mind him," the woman said. "He likes naming things. My name is Caitlin. That's Cisco. And this, this is Iris."
The Doctor looked over at the other woman. She seemed upset.
"Is she okay?" The Doctor asked Caitlin.
"Yeah, she, she just lost someone..."
"I'm very, very sorry," The Doctor frowned. "I've lost so many."
"This wasn't just someone!" Iris snapped. She whispered to herself, "I told myself I would be strong!" She looked at The Doctor. "And who are you?"
Caitlin chimed in, "This, is Doctor Whatever!"
"Oye, I said don't call me that!" The Doctor looked at Iris. "I'm The Doctor."
"Well, Doctor, you may have lost so many, but can you even imagine what it would be like to stand there, helpless, as the one person you love most in the universe just disappears right in front of your eyes?!"
"Iris!" Caitlin shouted. "We're going to find him!"
The Doctor looked away and then back at Iris. "More than you could ever know." He stood up. "If you people will excuse me, I have to get back to my TARDIS."
"Doctor?" Caitlin asked. "Was that the big blue box in the middle of the beach?"
"Yes!" The Doctor said.
"Doctor, after we got out of there, things heated up pretty quickly. Grodd and Killer Shark were--"
"That monkey? And the shark? Where have I landed? A zoo?!" The Doctor asked. "Please take me back to my TARDIS!" he said. Normally, he would just go himself, but he had no idea where he was.
Annoyed at the situation, Iris said, "Doctor, your TARDIS is gone! After A.R.G.U.S. contained Grodd and Killer Shark, they also claimed that blue box!"
"What is A.R.G.U.S. and how do I get my TARDIS back?" The Doctor said, angrily.
"Doctor," Caitlin said, "I want to answer your questions, but I need to know who you are. Where do you come from?"
"What do you mean where do I come from?" The Doctor asked.
"I was trying to make sure you were okay. You passed out. Doctor, you have two hearts... what are you?"
"I am a Timelord. I come from a planet called Gallifrey."
Cisco interrupted, "Another planet! I wonder if Kara has heard of Gallifrey..."
"Caitlin, listen to me," The Doctor said. "I'm fine. Everything is fine. I need to find my TARDIS. Can you help me?"
Caitlin nodded. She left the room. Cisco looked at The Doctor and said, "Do you have powers?"
The Doctor laughed, "I don't need powers! I have this!" He reached into the pocket of his coat and pulled out a screwdriver.
"A screwdriver?" Cisco laughed.
"It's sonic!" The Doctor pointed it at a light, and pressed a button. The light shorted out.
"Okay, Doctor. If I need to turn off the light from across the room, I'll call you!" Cisco laughed. He looked at Iris, who was just staring off into space.
Caitlin came back into the room. "A.R.G.U.S. wants to speak with you, Doctor." She handed him a cell phone.
"Hello?" The Doctor said, putting the phone to his ear. "Who am I speaking with?"
"Lyla," the voice said. "We need to talk. Caitlin will drive you."
She hung up.
"I guess we're going to A.R.G.U.S.," The Doctor said.
"Not quite," said Caitlin. "They don't trust you. We're meeting her somewhere else."
"Oh great," said The Doctor sarcastically, "more mystery!"
Leaving Cisco and Iris, Caitlin and The Doctor got into Caitlin's car and drove off to meet Lyla.
