Chapter Five: The Mystery Man

Just when the Dalek was about to shoot The Doctor with his built in whisk like gun, out of nowhere, there was a flash of lightning. Before The Doctor could realize what was happening, him, many guards, and Lyla were all outside the building. Unable to explain it, The Doctor shrugged it off, for now.

"Was that a speedster?" Lyla asked the guards.

They weren't sure, but the question was quickly forgotten when they all heard a huge BOOM! deep underground.

Lyla immediately ran back to the building and tried to open the door. It wouldn't move.

"Oh great," The Doctor said, sarcastically. "Just when I get my TARDIS back, and now it's gone again."

"Doctor," Lyla said, annoyed, "if you had just left things alone, none of this would have happened. Now you've let that thing out. How do you even know what it is? We've been trying to study it since we caught it three months ago!"

"How does one capture a Dalek?! You've had it for three months?!" The Doctor said, furious. "Where did you find this creature?!"

Unwilling to give up such information, Lyla simply said, "We also have your ship."

The Doctor frowned. He then said, "The Daleks are the most dangerous creatures in the universe. They are from the planet Skaro. They were built solely on hate. All they know is hate. He didn't just roll into A.R.G.U.S. by mistake looking for a cup of tea!"

Lyla looked at The Doctor. "You talk about this creature like you know it personally."

The Doctor looked down. "They destroyed my home. They destroyed my planet."

"So Caitlin wasn't lying when she said you were alien."

"Yes. I'm an alien. From an alien planet. But to me, you guys are the aliens. I don't even know where I am, what I've gotten myself into. All I know is, I'm going to stop that Dalek."

"I'm glad you feel that way," Lyla said. "Because we are going to need all the help we can get."

Just then, there was a very loud sound again. And this time, everyone heard it.

The Doctor looked at everyone and said, "Do you hear that?!"

It was even louder than before. The Doctor couldn't stand it any longer. It was so painful. He had enough of this. He pounded on the door and tried using his screwdriver to get in. Everything started getting blurry. He saw Lyla and the guards all pass out from the sound.

Just when he thought it couldn't get worse, the Dalek burst through the roof of the building, screaming, "This entire world is under the power of the Daleks!"

The Dalek came towards them, but before he came too close, The Doctor saw a flash of light again and he closed his eyes.

He opened them back up. The noise was gone, but so were Lyla, the guards, the Dalek, the building, everything. He had somehow moved through time? Or maybe space?

Standing up, he looked around. It felt different here. Like another dimension, or universe. He walked around a bit.

"Hello?" he said. "Is anybody here?"

He saw a flash of lightning.

"Who's there?!" The Doctor demanded.

He saw lightning all around him. And said, "I AM THE DOCTOR, AND I NEED TO GET BACK TO SAVING EVERYONE FROM THE DANGER OF THAT DALEK!"

"Dalek?" a voice said. "What is that? Wait, who are you? How'd you get here?"

"This is not a game! Show yourself!"

"I can't stop running," the voice said.

"Why not?!" The Doctor asked.

"This is my duty. My prison. I have to keep running. Why are you here?"

"I don't know!" The Doctor screamed. "I was with Lyla, these guards, I met someone named Caitlin. And Cisco, and Iris."

The running stopped. A man walked up behind The Doctor. "You... you saw Iris? How is she?"

"Devastated. She lost someone." The Doctor turned around to see a man all dressed in maroon.

"I know," the man said. "I am that someone."
