ANOTHER DAY IN TORONTO
It was like any other day in Toronto for everyone from citizens to killers kept to themselves. Nothing was different everything is the same even for Constable George Crabtree making the young man wish for something different. He seemed to get his wish that day after doing some fingerprint matching for Det. William Murdoch when two 70 year old women, as fast as their bodies could move, rushed inside the station.
"Georgie!" they both exclaimed causing the young Constable to drop the fingerprint pictures onto his desk. "Come with us quick!"
George looked at the two women and his eyes went wide. "Aunt Camelia, Aunt Amelia what's the matter?"
Miss Camelia, the oldest of the two grabbed the young man's arm in fear. "Come quick!" She screamed her face paling.
"What is-" George started but was interrupted by his Aunt Amelia.
"We know where that killer, you have told us about that one time," Aunt Amelia said before looking worried. "What was his name again?" She asked turning looking straight into her nephew's eyes.
"Stephen Hook?" George asked and the two older women nodded animatedly. The action made the young man's face pale. "Did you see him? Did he attack you?"
"No, but we know where he's hiding at." Miss Camelia said as calmly as she could. "He's hiding in our bushes in our backyard!"
"Wh...Wait...Aunties you need to explain everything to me what you saw." George asked his demeanor turning from shocked into completely serious tone. He lead the two older ladies into his police car.
"Right," Miss Camelia started as George began to drive quickly back to their house after he told everyone in their station what was going on. "Amelia and I were sitting down eating lunch, which reminds me, did you eat Georgie?"
"Not now Auntie Camelia. What about the events." George was gripping the steering wheel tightly.
"Oh right, well we were just sitting there when we heard some strange noises coming from the bush and we could see the leaves shaking." Aunt Amelia finished as Aunt Camelia was starting to get hysterical once again. "Oh we were terrified. We left our tea and sandwiches on the table and ran. We didn't look back as we were so scared."
"Alright you need to calm down." George said taking several deep breaths. "When we get there you two stay behind here in the car. It would keep you safe." The two older women nodded understanding that the young Constable was saying.
Before long a few other men from the police station, join with detective Murdoch in front the older women's house. As Constable Crabtree stood just outside his vehicle, Detective William Murdoch stood next to him. "Alright, since you were the one that made the call, explain to everyone what is going on." Detective Murdoch ordered gently giving the young man a more fatherly role.
George Crabtree fought to boast from the praise he got and hoped that his nerves wouldn't mess him up. "Alright everyone," he started looking at the unsure faces of his police colleges. "We have world that the notorious serial killer Stephan Hook is in this backyard of this residence. We must proceed with caution as we all know he's a dangerous man. He is known to be armed and dangerous and is not afraid to shoot any of us." The other officers all nodded.
"Alright, I'll have two teams of six officers each. One take the left while the other the right." Detective Murdoch said making those around him nod. "Do not engage the suspect until we have everyone there. You all understand?" The group nodded and Detective Murdoch separated the group of officers and lead the group with Constable Crabtree right behind.
The two small groups separated only leaving three other officers standing guard protecting the two older women. Detective Murdoch lead the now two groups until they were all surrounding the bushes standing just a few feet away. Detective Murdoch and Constable Crabtree took the lead as they slowly inched closer their weapons up and aimed at the bush preparing for the worst.
"Stephen Hook," Detective Murdoch began to order his voice booming. "We know you're in there. Come out peacefully!" The leaves began to rustle again but nobody walked out or talked back. "Stephen Hook! You are under arrest for the murders to the three girls near Town Hall. Come out peacefully or we will drag you out!" Once again more rustling and Murdoch gave George the nod to go in to drag out the suspect. His gun, as well as three other officers that walked close aimed their weapons in case of any problems.
The young Constable slowly inched inside and tackled the bushes disappearing into the foliage. A couple of strange noises followed by a loud screech followed by a couple of indecent cursing coming from the young constable.
"George!" William screamed running to the bush to help his friends but began to sneeze loudly and stumbling back. "George..." He let out another loud sneeze and moved back towards before falling on the ground.
"Help Constable Crabtree!" Constable Harrison screamed as he rushed to the Detective's side.
Officers rush to the bush only to stand back when George Crabtree emerged from the bush leaves and sticks holding a incredibly angry feline. Several scratches littered his face. "I found the culprit." The Constable said his voice fighting hard to cry and laugh as the cat being held by the scruff hissed and tried to scratch the constable once again.
"Oh my goodness!" Miss Amelia screamed walking around the corner to see the young Constable bleeding on the face. "Are you all alright?" They rushed to George's side but noticed the sneezing Detective. "Are you alright Detective?" They asked suddenly worried about the older man.
"Found your..." Murdoch sneezed making the youngest of the two older women rush to his side, "problem." He sneezed again tears running down his cheeks.
"It was this cat with six kittens." George said as Constable Harrison carefully held the six tiny mewing kittens causing the bigger cat to twist more in George's hands.
"Oh my don't we look foolish." Miss Camelia said before helping Detective Murdoch into the house.
"Come with us Detective, let's help you with some of our late father's medicinal syrup." Miss Amelia said gently hoping their late father's legacy was remembered.
"Oh come now, Amelia," Camelia said as the Detective continued to sneeze while George and Constable Harrison found a large box and placed an old blanket inside it while putting the cats inside.
"Please, Ladies," Detective Murdoch said as another array of sneezing. "It's not necessary..."
"Nonsense Mr. Murdoch. This was made by our late father himself." Aunt Amelia said helping Detective Murdoch inside the house. "This is the same one we used from when Georgie was little and we cured him of his allergy to Plums." George stood in the doorway, after asking the rest of the force to leave, and didn't say anything just listening to the two older women in silence. "Oh while you're here do you mind helping me find my pearl necklace. I simply can not find it anywhere."
"Amelia we already wasted these poor officers day today." Miss Camelia said handing Detective Murdoch a jar of some thick liquid.
"Don't worry Aunties." George said as Detective Murdoch walked out of the house examining the jar of liquid. "I'll help you on the weekend to help you look for the necklace."
"Oh you are such a dear," Miss Camelia said kissing the young man on the cheek. "Now Detective Murdoch make sure to take a cup of this every night before you sleep and your allergy to cats will be gone."
"Uh...thank you." Detective Murdoch said continuing to stare at the jar. "Come Constable Crabtree. We need to make a report of all this."
"Yes, sir." George said following the Detective Murdoch out of the house and into the vehicles.

It had been an hour since the Toronto Police force was sent out when Detective Murdoch and Constable Crabtree entered the station.
"Murdoch! Crabtree!" the Inspector screamed calling them into his office. "Explain to me why the entire force was sent out today."
"We received a false alarm," Murdoch explained looking over at George who was looking responsible for what had happened. "Crabtree go ahead and finish those fingerprints please." He said making the young man nod and headed towards his desk when the Inspector plucked the jar from Detective Murdoch's hands.
"What is this?" The Inspector asked towards Detective Murdoch.
"It's from my Aunties," George said his face looking unsure. "It's a reward from helping them with solving their problem."
The Inspector shook his head before heading back into his own office. For the remainder of the day the Toronto Police force was uneventful.

The day finally ended and Detective William Murdoch arrived home, his sneezes from his allergy attack had finally died down making the man smile. He walked towards his bedroom ready to retire for the night and smiled at his beautiful wife Julia who was also getting herself ready for bed.
"Oh William, how was your day?" Julia asked kissing her husband gently on the lips.
"Quite exciting." William said with a chuckle. "George's 'Aunts' came running into the station saying that the Serial Killer Stephen Hook was in their bush in their back yard." Julia's mouth hung open with disbelief. But Murdoch shook his head. "It wasn't Stephen Hook but a mother cat with her six kittens." He absently rubbed his nose as it began to itch. "Gave George a good few scratches and it flared my allergy."
"Oh William. I'm glad to see you're doing better."
"Oh of course, the two gave me a jar of their family secret 'Syrup' which I believe is some bootleg Whiskey."
"Oh William you need to dispose of that." Julia said her voice rising in hysterics. "You could loose your job."
"Don't worry Julia, I gave it to George as he suffered the most in the 'Cat' kaper." William smirked. "I think I got the best reward."
"What's that?" Julia asked curious now.
"I got a kiss." William said with a smirk. "By one of the most beautiful woman ever."
"Oh William how could you do that to me?" Julia looked like she was going to cry.
"What, I did get a kiss by the most beautiful woman ever. I married her after all."
"Oh William." Julia said smiling and kissing him again. "You clearly are the worst."
"Don't worry, you are stuck with me for life." William smirked kissing his wife gently. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight, old man." Julia teasingly jabbed before laying down.
The End.
