"Ra talk"

"Percy/Ra talk"

Chapter 8 I see a Egyptian's true face

"I hate, HATE scorpions. Serget had more then I bothered to count. I summoned my sword and started to hack away as Bast went for Serget. However due to the number of them, it took me awhile to get to help Bast and I was running low on energy.

"Percy try combining powers."

"My powers don't work with yours." I thought cutting the final scorpion in half.

"I wasn't talking about that. Since we a unique we have a new power."

"Speak English."

"You can copy/borrow a god's power."

"Why didn't you say that?" I spat.

"I did you were just slow on understanding me."

""Shut up." I thought rushing to Bast's side as she was knocked.

"Bast lend me you power." I said.

"What?" Bast asked. I grabbed her shoulder and a bright energy appeared and the gauntlets on my arms changed.

"This isn't normal for any god but with your powers you can do this." I looked and sure enough they now have three claws like wolverine one them.

"Impossible." Serget said surprised.

"Not with us." I extended my new claws and slashed her chest sending her back.

"Incredible." Bast said. As Serget got up the attack could be seen trying to heal.

"I got to end this fast." I thought as my armor returned to normal.

"Then make this one count."

"Alright." I thought leaping into the air.

"No!" Serget cried as she knew what was coming.

"Divine Judgement." We roared as the Phoenix aura formed around us and when it did we clashed with Serget which caused a huge explosion.

"Master!" Bast cried. raising to me. The smoke settled and I turned to face her.

"We used to much in one day. This power is still new." I fainted after that. "This isn't the first time i've woken up in bondage." I said waking with the kids standing before me with a new girl.

"Those binds are the Seven Ribbons of Hathor, I suggest you release your host or your essence will burn forever."

"Been there. Heck both the Executioner still keep in touch." I smirked at the new girl.

"Percy you okay?" Sadie asked kneeling before me.

"Yeah so far." I smiled. "Who the girl?"

"My name is Zia Rashid." She said.

"So any reason you tied me up?" I asked.

"You have a god inside you."

"Even I think that sounds dirty."

"Well it wouldn't be the first time." I smirked.

"I see it has began." Zia said.

"What?" Carter asked.

"His body and their minds is merging as one." Zia said.

"So what was your plan then?" I asked.

"I would kill you."

"Oh really?" I asked giving a yeah right look.

"I am a scribe in the House of Life. I am trained to fight gods."

"Heheheheheheheh."

"Something funny?" Zia asked.

"Clearly your teachings are shit." I said getting up."Because you have not fought a proper God."

"I could take offence to that."

"Shut up." I thought before breaking the binds. "Plus these are meant for Egyptians not me." I added.

"Impossible." Zia said. "What are you?."

"Unique." I said before turning to the kids. "So how long was I out?" I asked.

"Not sure but Bast was not with you when we found you." Sadie said.

"I see." I said going into thought. "Well I feel recharged. So that's a good thing."

"With what's to come maybe not." Zia said.

"Whatever it is i'll handle it." I said.

"You seem like the kind of guy who takes on everything for others." Zia said.

"And you seem fake." I said making the trio wonder why. Some time later we arived at our destination.

"This is the Hall of Ages." Zia said as she placed her palmagainst the seal, which bore the symbol of the House of Life. The hieroglyphs began to glow, and the doors swung open. Zia turned to us, her expression deadly serious. "You are about to meet the Chief Lector. Behave yourselves, unless you wish to be turned into insects."

"Wouldn't be the first time." I smirked walking in, hands in my coat pockets.

"What haven't you done?" Carter asked.

"I'll tell you when you are legal for NC-17 stuff." I said.

"Oh I gotta look into this."

"Pain in the tut." I thought.

The Hall of Ages was a rather nice place. Not like Lord Chaos palace or Asgard but still nice. Double rows of stone pillars held up a ceiling so high, you could've parked a blimp under it with no trouble. A shimmering blue carpet that looked like water ran down the center of the hall, which was so long, I couldn't see the end even though it was brightly lit. Balls of fire floated around like helium basketballs, changing color whenever they bumped into one another. Millions of tiny hieroglyphic symbols also drifted through the air, randomly combining into words and then breaking apart. But the weirdest things were the displays. Between the columns on either side of us, images shifted, coming into focus and then blurring out again like holograms in a sandstorm.

"Come on," Zia told us. "And don't spend too much time looking."

"Kind hard not to when you want to see it all." I said what the kids were thinking.

"Stay on the carpet!" Zia said as I just headed where me feet/Ra took me.

These are memories from the Age of the Gods. No mortal should dwell on these images."

"But..." Sadie blinked. "They're only pictures, aren't they?"

"They are powerful enough to destroy your mind." Zia said.

"Memories are a power thing. Never underestimate their power Sadie." I said.

"Okay Percy," Sadie said in a small voice.

We kept walking. The images changed to silver. I saw many new memories but I care little for that till cater stopped us.

"This is the Old Kingdom," Carter guessed. "The first great age of Egypt." Zia nodded.

"Unfortunately all things must come to a end." I said.

"You don't seem to care about our culture do you?" Zia spat.

"None what the least." I said. "I just have a unwelcome guest and people I want dead."

"What?" Sadie asked me due to the last part being mostly Ra.

"Nothing." I said till we reached the end of the hall and Sadie grabbed my arm.

In front of us stood a dais and on it an empty throne, a gilded wooden chair with a flail and a shepherd's crook carved in the back—the ancient symbols of the pharaoh. On the step below the throne sat the oldest man I'd ever seen. His skin was like lunch-bag paper— brown, thin, and crinkled. White linen robes hung loosely off his small frame. A leopard skin was draped around his shoulders, and his hand shakily held a big wooden staff, and the glowing hieroglyphs in the air seemed to be coming from him.

I almost thought he was dead but then he looked at me and I don't know how but me eyes glowed red and he quickly shut his as if in pain.

A second man stepped out of the shadows. I prepared a knife I had hidden in case this turned ugly. And when this guy glared at Sadie and me I was ready to put it in his jugular.

"I am Desjardins," he said with a French accent. "My master, Chief Lector Iskandar, welcomes you to the House of Life."

"Well the old Chief seems nice. But you can get lost." Desjardins' nostrils flared, but the old dude, Iskandar, just chuckled, and said something else in that other language. Desjardins translated stiffly:

"The master says thank you for noticing; he is in fact really old.

"Yeah, now tell him to give us our seat."

"What?" I thought.

"We are the Pharaoh."

"Now is not the time."

"If he can understand English. What language is he speaking?" Cater asked. Desjardins sniffed.

"The Chief Lector understands many things. But he prefers to speak Alexandrian Greek, his birth tongue."

"Knew it." I shouted. Sadie cleared her throat at that.

"Wasn't Alexander the Great way back in the blue section, thousands of years ago? You make it sound like Lord Salamander is—"

"Lord Iskandar," Desjardins hissed. "Show respect!"

"Sadie." I said looking at her .

"Sorry." The old man looked me in the eyes. He smiled, as if he knew exactly what I was thinking. He said something else in Greek, which I translated.

"The Chief says not to worry. You will not be held responsible for the past crimes of your family. At least, not until they have investigated you further."

"Gee...thanks," Cater said. Desjardins looked pissed.

"Do not mock our generosity, boy," Desjardins warned. "Your father broke our most important law twice: once at Cleopatra's Needle, when he tried to summon the gods and your mother died assisting him."

"Jackass." Ra and I thought.

"Then again at the British Museum, when your father was foolish enough to use the Rosetta Stone itself. Now your uncle too is missing—"

"You know what's happened to Amos?" Sadie asked/shouted. Desjardins scowled.

"Not yet," he admitted.

"Seems like the house has become weak."

"What?" Desjardins spat.

"No disrespect to the chief." I said in Greek. "But a house is only as strong as the one's completing tasks." I finished in English. This got me a punch in the gut.

"Bastard." I spat.

"It is clear now." The chief said in English surprising us.

"You all must stay here and trained."

"I don't have time for that." I said. I have to find the bastards and reseal him." That made the chief laugh.

"You are unique and as such we need to understand your power better if you are going to do that Pharaoh." The chief added.

"The Demon Days begin tomorrow at sunset, You need to be ready. Hone your new powers and armor."

"How do I know you won't use this to try to kill me?" I asked.

"I swear on the river styx."That surprised everyone.

"Alright." I said looking away. "But no harm comes to these two as well they are under my protection."

"Okay but first, I want to hear the story from all of you." I let Carter tell his and Sadie's part, with her jumping in whenever he stopped to take a breath. Then I told my side and kept Ra out of it. When I finished, I turned to Zia. She said nothing, but she was studying me with a troubled expression.

Iskandar traced a circle on the step with the butt of his staff. More hieroglyphs popped into the air and floated away. After several seconds, Desjardins seemed to grow impatient. He stepped forward and glared at us.

"You're are lying." He spat.

"Why I asked stepping between them.

"That could not have been Set. He would need a powerful host to remain in this world. Very powerful."

"Well they were there and you weren't." I said. "So will shut up." I roared punching him in the gut with great force. "Payback's a bitch."

"Look I don't know much about all this. But that was Set in those places. Heck Percy wounded him. And as for Serqet, she's real too! Percy, my cat, Bast, defeated her!"

"So," Desjardins said coldly getting up, "you admit to consorting with gods. That makes our investigation much easier. Bast is not your friend. The gods caused the downfall of Egypt. It is forbidden to call on their powers. Magicians are sworn to keep the gods from interfering in the mortal world. We must use all our power to fight them."

"Then he was right." I said looking away.

"Who was?" Desjardins asked/spat.

"Lord Chaos the father of the Universe. He said you turned on them and when they went to correct you. You acted like spoiled brats and threw a fit that caused your destruction. No wonder the Olympians are the stronger power today. Heck even demigods are superior to you." The magician clenched his fists, and the air tingled with the weird smell of ozone, like during a thunderstorm. The hairs on my neck stood straight.

"Ah you gonna pitch a fit now ?" I asked in a mocking tone. Then Desjardins punched me in the face and when I fell down I heard him pull out a knife.

"Who's superior now." He smirked but my leg sprang to life and kicked the blade away.

"You dare threaten me mortal. Ever since we helped you grow you have become nothing more this savage monkeys who bit the hand that feed them." I shouted as Ra took over. I grabbed his throat and talons from my armor formed on my hand making blood drip. "You are so weak. I think it's time we undo our mistake."

"Percy." Carter shouted scared.

"Percy stop." Sadie cried. I let the man go and collected myself.

"I see now." The chief said worried. "Never has there even been the thought of something like you before."

"Well since your gods are running lose, you should consider." I said with respect.

"Zia I want you to work with them." The chief said.

"Master these three must be destroyed." Desjardin spat.

"Try that and Set will be the least of your worries." I said.

"Zia will to test you to see your levels." The Chief said.

"Meanwhile, I will seek out the truth—or the lies—in your story. You will be punished for the lies." Desjardin spat.

"Shame how far my people fell. I blame Isis."

"What does-"

"Not the rainbow girl. The Hera wannabe."

"Oh." I thought. "Thank you." I said before trying to bow to the chief.

"Never bow to me. It is not your place to do that." The chief said. He opened his hand and a flood of glowing hieroglyphs poured out, swarming around the dais. There was a blinding flash of light, and when I could see again, the dais was empty. The two men were gone. Zia turned toward us, her expression grim.

"I will show you to your quarters. In the morning, your testing begins. We will see what magic you know, and how you know it."

"Okay." I said. "I was not worried for myself but for the kids. This was like camp to me. But Sadie and Carter were new and frankly I was worried.

"Sounds fun," Sadie ventured. "And if we fail this test?" Zia regarded her coldly.

"This is not the sort of test you fail, Sadie Kane. You pass or you die."

Okay that is it for now. Please review and I will update as fast as I can.
